Review Shingle Inn - North Lakes

The hot chocolate is to die for. I loved it . The milkshake was creamy and delicious. The flat whites came in a nice size mug. The caffeine infused my body and gave me a great buzz. Recommended! Staff are lovely! Nice good feel place for your morning coffee and other addictions.

My New Yorker sandwich was toasted to perfection with generous fillings.. My wife had a delicious chicken, camembert, avocado and mango chutney sandwich on VERY fresh bread. To our surprise the sandwiches were served with a beautifully presented side salad.. We each had the rich vanilla, caramel & malt milkshakes. The staff were friendly and the cafe was clean. We will definitely return.

Great Cafe, always kept clean and tidy, staff are very friendly and attentive. Usually come here for a nice cuppa and a chat. On the occasions when we've had food orders here they've arrived in good time and always taste delicious.

Ahh the memories. Remember the Shingle Inn in Central Brisbane ? Now where is the window full of cakes and cake boxes tied up with string to take home. Ham and cheese toastie and a piping hot coffee. Not a bad way to spend an hour sitting inside on a cold brissie day, watching the passing parade through the window.

This is a nice place to eat if the Food Court is not for you. It is a little expensive however the decor is great, the food is very good and the customer service is excellent (especially a young blonde lady with glasses who has worked there for some time).

Very poor value for money. “Kids high tea” at $12 was worth maybe half that for the portion sizes. Sausage rolls and sandwiches were quarter serves. My “goodness bowl” took half an hour, by which time my family were finished their dishes. I took one look at my bowl, said ‘nope’, and asked for my money back. On the plus side, my wife’s pancakes were okay, though she’d asked for waffles only to be informed they were out of “waffle mix”. 😒

Poo gluten free options! Ordered a breakfast and coffee for myself with my partner who is coeliac. Whilst I was eating she ordered from Soul Origin next door and sat back at the table with me, the manager then kicked us both out claiming we aren’t allowed to bring in food from other restaurants and that it was in breach of “covid-19 pandemic rules” ….. which makes absolutely no sense …. Didn’t even get to finish my own food before he forced us out! Total flop will never go back here!

It took 25 minutes to get our food when there were only 3 other people in the shop ? My husband's eggs Benedict was ok, but my open toastie of ham, cheese and pineapple was served on toast that was burnt til it tasted like charcoal. I would have asked for it to be done again, but after waiting so long for it in the first place, we had to be somewhere else, so didn't have time to wait. My other complaint was that the lady preparing our food was not wearing gloves or a mask. She had the mask on her face, but it was under her chin 🤔 Not happy !!!!

$20 for a tiny toasted sandwich with a scrap of salmon in it and a bottle of water. Lovely little spot but shameful rip off.

Actually was lucky enough to score a good flat white here. I guess because I ordered the double shot which coasts extra of course. Luckily it wasn't bitter & had a great flavor & the service was good too

The food was all displayed really nicely but I find their prices a little high for what you actually get though. It's not the quickest service either.

Athnum. We had been to Shingle Inn North Lakes before. Today we had breakfast. With the order the girl upgraded the product without us knowing. We ordered a café latté, she upgraded it to large with more charge. I ordered "egg benedict - Paris". I got charged $4.00 in addition, as for the label 'v', without my knowledge. If 'Egg benedict' is a 'v' dish why not have the price stated with the inclusion of $4.00? I suggest, as many places usually do, read back to customers what was in the order, to make sure they are correct with the order. My husband was not happy and said we will not come back. I don't mind paying for what I want but with my knowledge. So we understand what we pay for.

Go else where. TERRIBLE
extra charge for toasting my toast? really?
quite dear for what you get, go to the coffee club around the corner, better food, coffee and service and that's not saying much
