We had taken our little baby out for a walk to the ocean pool. On the way back we realized it was 5:30pm and Taco Tuesday. We decided to risk the little one waking up and go for it.
The staff were amazing - setting up a table for us outside, under a heater with enough room for a stroller. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They even sterilized a dropped dummy for us!
And of course the food was great. Lamb shoulder quesadilla, fish tacos & chorizo tacos. And beautiful frozen margarita

Went to Mexicano last Saturday night with my girlfriend, awesome food and awesome atmosphere, definitely recommend the pork belly tacos and fish tacos and wash it all down with the coco hoe cocktail, one of the best Mexican restaurants on the beaches !
Busy little place, been a few times now and never disappoints. From the tacos to the cocktails everything is amazing. Staff are excellent too. A little more pricey than the average Mexican joint but worth every penny. 5 stars āļø
Took my pregnant wife here for V-Day. Upon arrival, without us even saying anything, the greeter offered to relocate us from the high bar to a table on the floor for her comfort.
Service was fast and friendly. The food coming out was equally fast, commendable considering the place was almost at capacity. The speed of serving however didn't affect the quality whatsoever, once we tucked in we were greeted with absolute deliciousness!
Between the two of us, we chose an entree and three servings of soft taco for main - chorizo, fish and chicken - it was hard to pick our favourite (although I'd have to pick the chicken). It was a perfect amount of food, and the churros for dessert topped it off perfectly.
And at the end of it all we were pleasantly surprised with the amount on the bill.
Very happy with our visit, we'll be back as soon as we can! Cheers!

Wow what amazing food. Was recommended by my brother who lives here. Ended up having to come twice during our stay from Blighty as we were addicted. Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend it, you would be a fool not to come here
Very impressed with Mexicano at North Narrabeen. Atmosphere was relaxed & friendly, food was amazing and drinks were even better!
Can highly recommend the Fish Tacos and Frozen Margaritas but everything we had was tasty and fresh.
I have eaten a lot of mexican and this by far is the greatest I have ever had! Mexican street style fusion/French culinary and served tapas style with some of the sexiest cocktails I've ever had is the perfect recipe for any night of the week: )

Best restaurant on the northern beaches and beyond. Great atmosphere and the food is incredible. Cocktails are the best you have ever had, frozen passionfruit margaritas are my favourite. Can't wait till my next visit

So many beach side venues are underwhelming, Mexicano bucks the trend big time! Food is great and so are the cocktails. Highly recommend the beef tacos. Will definitely be back!

It's a must go place! The service and the food is spectacular! And yes you have to try their pork belly tacos they are just yummy!!! Will def go there again!!!
Modern Mexican is tricky and walks a fine line between respecting the culture and being inventive. Mexicano nails it. For me, the fish tacos were a 10/10 and the main reason that I'd drive the 40 minutes to return. The jalapeno poppers were also delightful, as was the corn on the cob. The lamb taco was pretty average but my boyfriend enjoyed it. Service was good, atmosphere fun and rose enjoyable too. Would return.
Great young vibe and atmosphere. A++ on the bar. I enjoyed the fish tacos. My friend recommended the pork tacos but honestly I thought they were average and a little on the dry side. Dessert was yummy. Only down side is that it was very busy and a little hard to talk. Most likely because it was a Saturday. I would recommend going on a week night.
The best Mexican food Iāve had in a long time. Just as with yum cha or tapas, little by little, over a series of dishes this was a satisfying meal. Not just in filling the tummy, but with the variety of tastes and textures. Because all of the ingredients, including the herbs, were fresh, we left feeling clean, that the food was healthy. And all in a vibrant atmopshere.
Mexicano has an emphasis on clean fresh flavours, fresh ingredients and modern twists on the traditional favourites with high solid looking tables and stools (except for a few lower tables). It's a little tricky to get on the high stool, but once you're up there you're fine, until time to go. There's some large hanging light globes and long a long share table as a centre piece for the restaurant. Every meal delighted me in being the opposite of "stodgy, cheesy and heavy" Mexican that I've had before, which often turns people away from the idea of going out for Mexican. I started with the street style grilled corn with chipotle mayonnaise-lime and cheese ($5 per piece)
Great food!. This is a great restaurant, can sometimes be a little crowded but that is because the food is so great! The chicken drumsticks are an absolute must on the starters menu. I go back time and time again for those and the fish tacos!

Best Mexican food I have ever eaten. No other Mexican even compares. I definitely recommend the grilled corn and fish tacos. Quesadillas are awesome as well. Best cocktail would have to be the silent assassin.
Mexicano is so yummy I go very regularly with my family, friends and boyfriend! It is expensive if it just for 2 people because the good is designed to share so it's priced most accordingly with 4 or so people. The restaurant is quite loud but it's designed for fun and to test out a few drinks. The staff all seemed really happy and I think the 2 hour dining time is understandable if they are busy enough to fit in so many tables in a single night!

Perfect Mexican & Mrgaritas. What an amazing place, such a simple restaurant layout but so effective by letting the food and drinks do the talking, oh so many times lately i have been to new establishments that are so cool and have amazing fitouts only to be disapointed by the quality of food and drinks.
These guys on the other hand are serving an amazing quality product, by far my favorite dishes here are the corn, ceviche and fish tacos and polished of with a jalapeno margarita.
I asked my waitress about how the food is prepared and her reply was "we only use the freshest produce from start to finish and everything is made here onsite daily " i can tell.
During the night i see the bartenders start squeezing limes, not too many places practice this, the flavour shows in their drinks, no weird tasting preservatives at this place.
I looked at a couple of other reviewers complaining that there was no sour cream and the seating was uncomfortable....... I think you missed the maccas turnoff 1km down the road hehe.
Well im very happy with this place i have found and look forward to bringing friends.

What a great restaurant! I took my Mum and my little girl here for dinner. Mum is used to cheesy heavy Mexican and wasn't that keen. I ended up ordering for her and her words were I didn't know Mexican could take like this. There was a kids menu which my little girl was very happy with. The service was fantastic, wine recommendation was great and food even better. Highly recommend a visit.

K.I.S.S.. The lads at Mexicano have got it right. Keep It Simple Stupid, seems to run through their very being. Surfers from Narrabeen would never and should never try and over complicated menus, decor or experience. Face facts, if you want a top quality Mexican fiest, visit Mexicano. If you want value, visit Mexicano. If you want good flavours staying true to its Mexican roots whilst inviting a modern version, visit Mexicano. If you want ponchos, sombreros, cactai, accordions and huge mustacheod men, you best go somewhere else. This isn't where you go for over filled burritos, refried beans or more cheese than you can stomach in a year in the one sitting whilst dining among silhouetted cowboys and empty Jose Cuervo bottles . The portions are generous and tasty without the need for a wheel barrow to be rolled out afterwards. It's worth the 20 minute drive north of Manly and for chico's sake, order the corn!!!
Amazing food! Loved the tapas style Mexican. Service could be a little better but all in all a great little restaurant.
Have been there twice now and think it's great, food is excellent, arrives quickly and the staff are lovely, attentive and efficient. I have sat outside on both occassions, imagine it could be noisy inside.
Perfectly executed place. Not sure about the negative reviews here- if you're concerned about acoustics and massive portions eat at an RSL! Great menu, especially drinks- the selection is small but everything really well done, good portions and easy to share.
Standouts were fish tacos and the ceviche. We were mostly served by the charming owner but I think its worth noting that when we weren't the regular staff were great too- clearly they like working there, always a good sign. A place to unwind and get terrific dessert at the end.

Service was great. We would order our food and blink and it would be on the table. Staff were very attentive. Food was A-Maz-Ing. Only downfall was the portion sizes of the meals. If you're interested in a light meal with fantastic margaritas then this is your place. If you are ravenous however be willing to order a few meals to fill the void. I would definately go here again!
Favorite Sydney Restaurant From Surry Hills to Circular Quay and Balmoral Beach, I've eaten a lot of places in Sydney and Mexicano is my favorite. As an American expat, I desperately miss good Mexican and the Beef Chimichangas and Fish Tacos are as good as get in the States (Cali, Texas, or East Coast). Been here twice and will keep coming back!
The beef tacos are the best I have had in OZ. Really good food, good booze, worth the 45 minute drive for me to get there!
Really good. A welcome addition and sleek set up. The northern beaches needs more of this. Good food but maybe a little more variety needed. Make sure you get the most expensive tequila you can afford in a balloon glass. Worth it.

The service here is wonderful and extremely attentive. The location is good right on the beach although doesnāt have views and the decor of the restaurant is lovely.
The food (and this will sound odd) is not as Mexican as I was expecting. All the dishes were tasty and the flavours were really well balanced however they didnāt really feel authentically Mexican. That being said Iāll definately be back
The banquets are very good value compared to ordering individual plate and you can swap dishes out which is great. It sounded like a lot of food but the portions are small so youāll managed it.
Next time I might just go and get 10 plates of the argave chicken wings. Delicious!!
