I was also at the joined birthday party that Friday (17/03), and I was also very impressed with the staff and coordinators of the event. The venue was so unique and fun, the wine selection was brilliant and the prices are just right.
The staff members on that night were absolutely fantastic and the new owner is such a wonderful kind hearted soul. I feel as it was within her nature to go above and beyond to cater to your specific needs- she understands people and has been in the industry enough to know what true customer service is all about.

We have been going to the classroom since the first day it opened and rate it as one of our favourite bars. After hearing that there is new owners we decided to pop in last night for a quick drink and to see if it has changed any. We are happy to say that for us it is still one of the best small bars around. We meet the new owner and staff and they are great, warm,friendly and very hospitable, needless to say our quick drink turned into 2hours of fun. We still love the place and will definitely be back

Absolutely love this place. I had a joined party there last Friday, the staff were incredibly friendly and understanding of any requests. They all went above and beyond to ensure we had a great night. The secret door that led to our private function room was awesome and the drinks at the bar were amazing! A special thank you to the owner Rose for ensuring our night ran smoothly and put up with all the changes we made leading up to the event! :)
Birthday dinner for family of 4. Service was exceptional. Entree- calamari / chorizo / arancini/ garlic prawns. Mains- pork belly / roast vegetable salad with chicken / burger. Dessert- ice cream in waffle basket. Rose cocktail delicious!! Love the concept and will definitely return. Thank you Rose.

Great venue! Such a chilled and inclusive atmosphere. As an added bonus the food and cocktails are incredible. I love it here, as a collector of antiquities the decor is very appealing too.
I hadn’t been here in years and was sad at how quiet it was on this particular Friday night. There was only one other couple in but the bartender and chef were so friendly and cool with us, having a laugh and encouraging us to stay. We ended up there until closing time and had beers and cocktails.
Came here few times when it first open, food was great at that time. Found the food quality seems to have gone down. However, there still have great cocktail especially their espresso martini.
Love the whole design and the vibe of the place, really match well with the name. Staffs were friendly.

Love this cute place! Fantastic little bar and friendly service. Tried a couple of the cocktails 🍹 they were delicious and so well balanced. The food was very good. I shared the vegan platter and it came out promptly. Can’t fault the service either. Will definitely be back to try some more food & cocktails.
Not bad at all! It's a cute little place, the decor is adorable. When we got there it was 6:30 on a Friday and it was reasonably quiet (there were probably only two other small groups, but by the time we left a couple hours later it was starting to fill up).
I was worried about the food, based on some of the reviews on here. We ordered a tapas set for four and everything on the table was delicious (although we did end up having to order a couple more dishes). The cocktails were delicious and packed a punch. All staff were really lovely, and the service was quick.

I love the unique and cosy feel of this place and the easy parking behind. There is so much to look at inside and the Cluedo game on our table was a nice addition. The place though is pretty expensive. The cocktails are great - but they should be at $22. Our food was quite nice but not exceptional. We shared the chicken slider (single) $7, beef (royale with cheese) slider (single) $7, grazing board $25, sweet potato gnocchi $22 and hand cut chips $9. The chips were VERY good as was the grazing board meats and cheese but it was lacking slightly with the toasted turkish bread. Like foodieperth I found the sweet potato gnocchi too smothered in the huge pile of cheese sauce it sat in. The toasted leeks added a nice crunch to the dish. Service was fine - we were the only people there coming off a long weekend. They gave us enough space to figure out what we wanted and we didn't feel pressured to leave or order more. Wine ranges from $8-$13 and the boys beer Feral Hop Hog IPA was $12 for a stubby. I tried the Sailor Cherry cocktail $22 which was delicious and served in a long glass which I was hoping for as it usually lasts longer. Super delicious.
Date night on a Saturday, walked in and got a spot at the bar. Cocktails were on point, food was great! Staff were really friendly. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back soon! Totally recommend.
I had a lovely midweek date night here. Eight cocktails, two burgers and chips, two desserts and $225 later we stumbled out very content (especially me cuz I didn't have to pay. Booyah!)
I particularly enjoyed the pop rock n roll cocktail which was a blue sweet concoction served with pop rocks! They were more than happy to oblige with my request for extra pop rocks! The sponge bob pineapple pants cocktail was also fruity and delicious and they were also more than happy to make us cocktails not on the menu.
My cheeseburger was delish, although chips could be crispier.
Both the gluten free brownie and icec cream and fried ice cream with rum butterscotch sauce were great too.

The Classroom is located on a busy intersection which seemed an unlikely choice, but once inside that's all forgotten. I would definitely return. It's a good option for a group.
Fantastic cocktails! They're so much fun to watch being made, are really creative, and are damned delicious. There is a private room hidden behind a book case which adds a great element
Amazing venue. Worth the trek. Best cocktails ever - pricey but there's a good reason for it! Spoilt me though, starting to get picky with cocktails elsewhere. Nibblies are delicious too. Love the popcorn - awesome idea.
I don't know why it's taken us so long to check this place out, considering it's so close to home. We came for a quick drink on Saturday night, and were relieved to see the place pleasantly empty-ish. I had a cherry pop cocktail which was delicious, and we shared a wagyu burger with onion rings. The burger was good, but not fantastic. The staff were friendly, and we sat on some comfy couches. It's good to know there is a quiet place for a drink nearby!
Cheeky bar with a schooled themed venue! Some people might not like it but I thought it was uplifting change in bars theme/interior design. Each weekday has a school night deal and friendly staff! But some foods we order as a bit tiny for what you pay
Verdict on 'The Classroom': slow but polite service, very noisy, cool atmosphere, uncomfy seating, delicious food (I already want the reuben and mashies again, dessert was epic) and tasty but slightly stingy cocktails. Would prob go back during the day.
Amazing Restaurant!!. Myself and my husband came in to the classroom on a busy thursday night with a groupon we were given as a gift. the place was completely packed out and we had to wait for at seat but our waitress (megan i think) was very welcoming and helpful even though she had her work cut out for her. within 5 minutes she had found us a table and her service all night was perfect to say the least. After our ciders (not so good, but didnt mind as that was what came with the groupon) we ordered a summer plum sour and an expresso martini. A tall slim bartender was very nice and made our amazing cocktails look so beautiful. we would of had more but had to drive! we will definately come back again!!!
Great atmosphere but not cheap. We went here on Friday, even with a Groupon voucher for Cider and Sliders for 4 people, we still spent an additional $288.
That wasn't a lot of drinks and some were still hungry when we left.
But the atmosphere took us back and made for loads of laughs.

Great birthday evening!. This is a little late as my birthday was a couple of months ago, but I must write to thank the staff at The Classroom for a great birthday! They sectioned off an awesome little corner of the bar for me and my friends where we could all just chill out and drink/eat until we were full to the brim. Cocktails here are well made and delicious. If you have a sweet tooth try the Flaming Galah. The food is also really yummy and interesting. Love the sliders!!!
Likes and dislikes. Likes: variety range of vegetarian menus, creative, interesting and unique dishes, love the ambiance which led you back to the school environment, reasonable price too.
Dislikes: service size was a bit too small, waiter was being too pushy to take our order.

Awesome place! Love themed decor, something interesting to look at in every corner. Even the binder file for the menu, the seat, cute canteen and how you order is thoughtfully planned. Like stepping back in time when you're in high school. So cool! The food are just as great as the decor. I had the pulled pork, apple slaw with onion rings $25, really good and generous serving, bigger than i thought. For dessert, i got the pistachio to the power of 4 (sponge, ice cream, fairy floss and nougat) $14. Definitely made the right decision as i almost picked the chocolate cake only to change this decision last second. You get 4 different components and texture, each of them very yummy and can taste the pistachio. Came on saturday lunch, and i wasnt ready for cocktail just yet, so i had the iced coffee. I think he made it with possibly liquid nitrogen stuff as i see smoke coming out when he was making it, so cool. I love gastronomy stuff. $4 is really great price considering coffee from other crappy cafe are over $4 and thats without all the cool stuff. Usually a voucher girl, i did notice there was voucher for slider popcorn and ciders but i didnt get them as the deal didnt look as appealing or worth to me. Came here without voucher, but i was happy with the price. Cant wait to come again, next time i'll definitely try their science cocktails. Easily one of my favourite place.

Delightful Degos. During the last couple of weeks in the month sees The Classroom put on its monthly Cocktail Degustation. This month was another successful one - with a Cluedo theme. As someone who has gone to a large number of these - they are a fun filled night with a chance to try fab cocktails and amazing food by people who are passionate about their craft. If you expect one of these nights to be traditional food degustation then you would be mistaken - it is about the cocktails; with food to go with it. Each degustation is imaginatively themed with food and cocktails to match. If you are after an indepth explanation of any of the cocktails you only have to ask one of the knowledgeable staff. It is a great opportunity to get some friends together to try some new flavours. The staff are always accommodating with food allergies taken into consideration if alerted to before the event.
The end of the night sees the staff talk to patrons and seek feedback.
And in answer to one previous reviewer - yes to pies at a degustation (they were really tasty!) Bring on next month and good luck to a group of people to are trying to bring something a little different to the Perth dining scene.

Grade A Student. On my first visit to the classroom this evening with my brother and friend, I have to say, it was a very enjoyable experience.
Staff wise, the girl who sat us down was terrific. Polite, happy, informative and helped conjure up two cocktails that were not on their menu - one of which was quite awesome due to its liquid nitrogen appeal. Kudos to the mixologist.
The interior is cool, it fits the name with lockers which they ingeniously use to store their spirits, desks as tables, pencil jars and what not and various school parifanalia jotted around the place including an awesome book shelf door. This alone helps to give the place a unique selling point.
Drinks; mate had two wines and he enjoyed both, my brother and I had two cocktails each. Appletini , yum. Sour cocktail, yum. Mojito, authentic and a fruit tingle, way better than the Bali version in terms of both appearance and flavour.
Food was excellent, a decent assortment.
Charcuterie board was chorizo, terrine, bread, beetroot and caper berries and salami - Cool selection, cool serving crockery.
Special of the week was a char sui pork bun, which was deconstructed. Nice flavour, reminiscent of the original, enjoyed by all, the fourth being fought over.
Duck dumplings. Beautiful. The broth that came with it was watercress and mushroom with cabbage and ginger if I recall, and kicked ass, and I hate mushroom. I would definitely recommend this.
Gnocchi. Not usually a fan of blue cheese but it was bare able, the actual gnocchi was nice and soft and crisp on the outside.
Lamb ribs. Winner. Great flavour. Came off the bone with minimal effort. Would order again.
An enjoyable first evening, place was rammed, we had a seat right by the door which sucked and the waitress let us move as soon as another table was available.
If I can make one constructive piece of criticism it would be having to get your own food with the tacky buzzers and carry it through the narrow walkway between the bar and tables. However, the awesome waitress helped us due to the amount we ordered and the chef said hello through the pass.
Keep up the good work and you'll surely pass your exams.
Really!!???. After reading the last couple reviews I am amazed!!! Are you sure you went to the classroom ??? Have never had a did night there - drinks are amazing/theatrical!! The Tarantino COCKTAIL dego was loads of fun with great cocktails and accompanying food finishing off with a yummo dessert! Great atmosphere in the room and everyone seemed to be having a brilliant time !! Definitely one of our favourite small bars!!ENJOY PEOPLE!!!
Very cool!. Went to The Classroom tonight and loved it! I love the design of the place, the tables are school desks, there are bags hanging up and lots of school memorabilia on the walls. As soon as we were seated, we were greeted and water was placed on our table. Not sure how much i like the ordering system though, having to go up to the bar to order every drink and your food.. when you order your food you get a buzzer and have to collect it when it's ready,, but all worth it because the food was absolutely amazing!! I ordered the home made gnocchi with pear and blue cheese and it was very nice! one of the nicest gnocchi's I have tried, nice consistency compared to some gnocchi's i have tried that are too soft and more like a ball of mashed potatoes. I will definitely be returning.
Quirky and fun. I've never been disappointed by the food or drinks here! The cocktails in particular are great; really inventive and tasty. So's the food, for that matter. It's great to order dishes to share, so you can try as much as possible.

Delightful! Decor is incredibly creative and they've definitely committed to the theme. Service was friendly & efficient, food & drinks came out very quickly. Cocktails are innovative & lethal! Only bummer was a couple of the dishes, great ideas but weren't terribly well executed. Some really tasty ones too though so it didn't really bother us. Definitely recommended :)

Awe and Some. love going to the classroom bar ... very cute and nostalgic schoolroom decor including the restrooms ... small plates of delicious food to share ... some of the best cocktails in perth ... a bit pricey ... service is always pretty good ... as is the atmosphere. find the secret door.

Impressive cocktail list, and a lot of fun. My only gripe is the expense - $20-$22 for a cocktail is steep, even for Perth.
Not just anuvver brick in the wall. Playful, well executed, reasonably priced - applies to stylish pub grub, glam cocktails and the whole vibe. Fried chicken is cartoon crunchy, beef ribs are tender and tasty. Stands out from the crowd and does cartwheels.
A++. Great food, great cocktails, great wine and beer list, great atmosphere, just damn right awesome!
The Classroom really is a winner, such a funky little set up inside, very nostalgic for the average 80's kid. The food was incredible, THEE best slow cooked ribs I have ever had, and I traveled the States for 3 months a few years back!

Lives up to the hype!. There's a very good reason why this place has won so many awards. The decor and theme exudes from every single aspect of the premises, the food is solid, the staff are fun, and the drinks are amazing! The mixologists really know their stuff.. I can't go past the Pisco Sour, it lures me in every time I visit!
Great, great food, venison was brilliant, fantastic drink range and staff, take amex, park round the back.
Funky food great atmosphere. Went there before a gig at the Rosemount. Great relaxed atmosphere. Food was great had pork and ginger sliders 3 x, 3 x corn dogs and chips with aioli. Food was top notch and just enough for a small meal or snack.
Fun night. The food was bursting with flavour and creativity. Transforming something that once was an everyday school lunchbox or canteen meal into I guess such a better version. The decor is spot on, cocktails were a tad overly strong (not complaining), service was friendly, school chairs are not ideal for sitting on - seriously kidding themselves if they think we can sit comfortably in a 2nd grader's chair. Was envious of the groups of people that scored the high tables with stools the whole night. Will be back very soon to pre book a slightly larger seat :)

Delicious Finger/Tapas Food. This place is great. They have done a good job with the decor, which is styled to replicate the school classroom of yester-year. They certainly do nostalgia very well.
We opted for share-style food from the menu, which reminded me a bit of American carnival food. We had corn dogs, the shredded pork sliders, the fried chicken and zucchini chips. Between the two of us, this was more than enough. The chicken was crispy and tender and puts KFC to shame. The pork sliders were deliciously juicy and the zucchini chips made me fall in love with vegetables all over again. Admittedly, I had never eaten a corn-dog before, but I am so glad I got to try the one's here: so yummy!
The food here is excellent and it looks as though they are well-equipped with decent drinks too. The bar is fully stocked and they have an extensive alcoholic beverage list.
The service is efficient, although a bit surly and sullen, but what else can we expect from hipsters who moonlight in the Perth hospitality industry when they aren't on their rock'n'roll world concert tours *eye rolls*.

A busy Friday evening. I've seen this place when I drive pass on the weekend. I've always wanted to go there for about 2 months. We had decided to catch up with my friends who live around the area.
When we got there on Friday evening around 9:30pm there was a queue outside and we stood in the queue for around 10 mins and got in. It's full of people. The interior is very quirky, love the school/classroom theme, love the bookcase looking door and love the school bags hanging wall.
The bar was pumping away with people ordering drinks and food. We stood at the bar to wait for an available bar tender to be at our service.

Very cool idea with awesome decor. The food was so good! Like the fact that can look into the kitchen, but not so keen on the 'beep-beep' to go and get your food - understand the concept tho. Service needs a revamp, ignored on numerous occasions where first at the bar doesn't mean first served. Have a love/hate with the cocktails - the smoke is pretty spectacular but is it necessary? All up, food was wicked, more focus on customer service would make this place really amazing.
