The place was recommended by a friend and we had a quick coffee run on a Sunday afternoon. We were greeted by two very friendly staffs who suggested a few different types of coffees and we love it! They are quite a simple café and yet unpretentious with great coffee! The open plan and industrial decor just makes it quite casual and relaxing whilst people watching. We will come back for food next time.
Great coffee and really delicious bagels. I am
generally disappointed in take away coffees in Perth but this place nails it.
Coffee is delicious and they have good baristas as well.
Great little cafe, with a nice atmosphere. Music is easy listening, and isn't too over powering, allowing you to have a good conversation.
Staff are extremely friendly, stopping to have a conversation with me on several occasions. I was even offered coffee options to try that I hadn't had before.
Food was excellent, and considering the suburb, the prices are good. They stock gluten free bread and are able to offer several alternatives in products that aren't gluten free in order to make them so.
I love this little cafe and will continue to come here with a book to read my weekend mornings away.
Chris, the owner should be proud of what he's achieved here.
I live in North Perth and can't believe I've never been here until today. The coffee is delicious - my flat white had great flavour, was beautifully creamy, and the perfect temperature. Will definitely be back.
We stumbled across Addison & Steele while exploring North Perth. I instantly loved the cafe on walking in to their fresh, crisp atmosphere and the retro vibe created by the furnishings. Check it out for yourself, I’m sure you will agree!. Down to business!. The cafe was busy but not packed so we had a choice of two tables that Sunday morning. It’s been awhile since I’ve been out for breakfast with Mr. T due to his work commitments so we were in no rush this particular morning.
Mellow music on a slow starting Sunday, space between tables, friendly staff who care how you like your coffee.
Some toast and jam to fill the gaps.
As it's my first time here I'm going with the house Candyman - of the macchiato variety.
All good.
Nice smooth coffee and the beans with poached egg was very tasty and perfectly cooked. I wasn't expecting the food to be anything spectacular so this exceeded my expectations.
The granola was yum yum!! As was the golden ticket coffee. I'm not usually quite reluctant to deviate from my regular latte, but I'm glad I did in this case. The staff were very helpful and attentive especially while explaining the different coffees they offered. Great vibe and a great location.
Very good coffee. Food options are lax, but it is a coffee place first and foremost. The decor of the place means i only really go here in summer and spring. It is too cold and clinical in winter.
Great place for amazing coffee. Good quite pricey for what it actually is but can't fault the coffee and its pricing. Payment is easy and they do accept PayPass which is great!!!!

No decaf. When I asked about it, the waiter was going on about how the chemicals used to take the caffeine out of coffee are really bad for you and blah blah blah. I decided to just get a weak coffee. As expected, I didn't enjoy it. I don't like weak coffees. They also serve bagels. I like the crockery and the fitout.
Great cafe in the heart of North Perth. They do a lovely coffee here and my boyfriend was happy with his hot chocolate. This place has a cool vibe and we will come back for food one day!
Coffee here is good! I haven't tried any of the exotic ones though but would be interested to. Service has always been really lovely to us too.
There isn't a huge range of variety on the menu, with nearly a page full of just bagels which are nice but not amazing. I do think the filled ones are a bit pricey for what they are at $14 a pop.
With that said I think the unfilled ones are much better value, and I really like how they come out with a selection of spreads. I'd like to come back to try the crumpets some time :)
Love this place, excellent coffee and lovely staff members, so attentive and professional at the same time. The guy that served us even took time to explain how the eggs were cooked. We ordered the eggs on sourdough with smoked salmon and mushrooms. This was a very clean dish. Very fresh and the eggs were cooked to perfection. We also ordered pulled pork on crepes. But we asked if we could change crepes to bagels, so glad we did, as it was delicious. This was more of a hearty dish, with a touch of asian cuisine to it. It had char siew sauce which tied everything together. A bit more to the pricey side, but worth it for the coffee and unique food options!
Coffee is one of the best in perth. Really relaxed atmosphere and good service. Poached eggs with toast was quite nice and the option to have a tasting tray with different coffees was a nice option
What a great find in North Perth!
I am a huge fan of the versatile menu, amazing coffee and great service... What more can I say other than, I'm a fan!

I love this place for their consistent, great quality coffee, service was good too. We tried the sous vide eggs last time, and they're divine. One of my favourite coffee/brekkie joints in Perth.
Where should I start? Super professional staff And so accommodating offers waters etc when ordering take away coffee. They have one of the best baristas is in perth (WA champion), the food is very yummie!
Must go
Nice breakfast - eggs were cooked perfectly! Pulled pork crepes yummy.
Service good staff friendly and approachable.
Yes will return to to try the coffee.
Not for your regular cafe goer, more for your real coffee lover! From espresso to pour overs and even filters it's all good! The bagels are also pretty good :)

So good!!!. I've never posted a review before but I figured I would because this place definitely deserves a better rating. Coffee is always good. The service is always so friendly. They're usually busy here but the staff always have time to check if you need more coffee and to top up water. I did read a review about the 'raw' eggs. No way! They're so tasty. It's not raw they're just cooked differently but trust me, it's worth it. The first time I had eggs sous vide I thought the same thing. I freaked out! But you just have to give it a shot. Best eggs around. I love when coffee shops offer new things, not just your average sandwiches and toast.
Good coffee, good service. Happily surprised to see table service - nice point of difference.
Coffees were strong and smooth. Cafe itself is cool. Tables and a few single couches/chairs.
Didn't try the food but the cakes etc at the counter looked very nice.
One bad expierence.. I frequent A&S often, I love the coffee and service, location and fitout.
Today however I dont believe I was considered and valued customer and the staff made a bad decision.
I ordered the only eggs on the menu which has a french description $16.50. I ordered these without asking the english interpretation, my mistake. While I was ok to have eggs anystyle I was not prepared for almost raw eggs slightly cooked in water.
I asked the waiter to cook the eggs further by any method he could, Microwave, grill, boiling water... however he adivsed he could do nothing.
I had to accept the eggs as they were presented. I asked him to take them away as I definitly couldnt consume these.
So, for $16.50 I was left with 2 rather small slices of toasted sourdough and some avacado spread.
Upon paying the bill I asked the waiter if I was to be charged the full $16.50, he thought about it and advised ,Yes.
I acknowledged it was my mistake and asked him to reconsider and he consulted with fellow staff member who agreed the eggs were presented exactly as the menu stated, in French and I was to pay the $16.50, in fact $20.50 including the coffee.
Anyone with experience would foresee this would not please even the meekest of customer.
Did they really care?
While the guys gave a moment of their time to discuss it, I believe they definitely made the wrong decision and did absolutley nothing to appease me.
This is the first review I have ever felt compelled to write and like most on here am certaintly NOT interested in refunds / discounts or deals after the event.
A simple acknowledgment and even a rounding of the bill to $20.00 at the time would have gone a long way.
Would I go back? Possibly, but only for coffee.
Customer service is great! Servings are small for the price. Nice atmosphere.

Fantastic coffee experience. Perth is at last on the specialty coffee list of best places to visit! I love A+S, it's all about the experience from the moment you walk in. Table service where the staff are friendly, extremely knowledgeable and know how to make coffee that would rival the best places in Melbourne. It's how it should be - coffee first and the focus, and then the food (which by the way is simple but fantastic) is available should you want to order. Go with the bagels - brilliant!
Well done to the owners and staff, you have nailed it.
Deserves a way higher rating - we came as visitors from Melbourne - high quality coffee great fresh food with nice flavours. Would definitely recommend
Best Coffee Experience in Perth. Fabulous Service, Fabulous atmosphere, Fabulous food, Fabulous music, Fabulous, FABULOUS coffee.
my go to for pre uni coffee, post uni coffee, anytime coffee.
Staff are super lovely and make a point of making you feel welcome and remembered.
Addison and Steele is a gem in a city full of bad, expensive coffee and poor customer service!
5 stars *****
Weekend Brekkie Default. Really friendly vibe from the staff (especially the gentleman with the majestic beard that served us). Coffee seemed to be both an art and science there - long mac TO tasted like it was expressed well and the milk was at perfect temperature. Brekkie was good value for money and the bagels they use come with awesome dips. Will be one of my defaults when I decide where to go for brekkie for sure.
Highly recommended. Best coffee & bagels in Perth.
And the wait staff? Super friendly! They will turn you into a regular after one visit.
It's great. (And I'm from Melbourne)
Great Sunday morning breakfast. No wait and free tables even though it very busy. Ordered Candyman blend flat white, amazing!! Then some crumpets and winter fruits.delisious!!
I watched as staff dealt with busy walkins plus a few difficult customers eating food not purchased from them (I agreed with their option to wait outside until their coffee was ready)
Second coffee ordered and then we left! Fast service and nice coffee. I'll be back!
Best cafe in Perth. I don't know what some of other reviews are talking about. I have had nothing but truly outstanding service here from friendly, knowledgable staff. I have visited about a dozen times and the standard has been impeccable. Great coffee, lovely staff. As good as the best cafes back home in Melbourne. Don't change a thing.
For the number of people working there and it wasn't even a busy day, I would say the customer service was quite bad. The waiter didn't bring us any menu even after being in there for 10 minutes. But their good was good. The croissant almond with cream cheese filling was a winner! The texture Was absolutely lovely. Is a must if you're dining in there. My bf ordered the salmon bagel and it was quite good, except the bagel was cold. It would be better if it was toasted! And their coffee is not bad. For someone like me who doesn't like or even drink coffee, I actually liked it :)) so yes, is quite worth a try.
Great coffee, smoked salmon bagel and mexican bruschetta were delicious and very reasonably priced for such big servings. Mixed fruit danish was one of the best I've had. Atmosphere is lovely with a great interior and well though out decor. Service is quite slow but doesn't phase me as food and coffee is great so worth the wait. Will be back for more!
Amazing coffee.. The 53% rating on here just goes to show that 47% of people on urbanspoon wouldn't know what good coffee tasted like if it was literally served to them in the friendliest of manners by great baristas for less than what they would usually pay. Every time I go (which is about everyday), the coffee is amazing and the service is flawless. While they don't have an extensive food menu, they do some simple things incredibly well. Definitely grab one of their bagels. I imagine there's a strong correlation between those giving it a thumbs down and those who go "for coffee" at the Dome.
Great place for a coffe and a Bagel.. Amazing coffee, tasty bagels, very friendly staff who know there stuff.
Great service. The decor of this place is so cool, if for no other reason go to check out the lighting. Waiter actually took my takeaway order before I had even reached the counter, and this was on a busy Saturday morning. Coffee was good, was sad they had no muffins. I love muffins. Oh and everyone wears cute aprons.
I've been to A&S on multiple occasions and have always found the staff to be friendly. Had one coffee that was ok and the rest have been excellent.
Serious Speciality Coffee. These guys tick all the boxes: top end gear (especially impressed by the Slayer and Versalab grinder - the only ones in Perth, to my knowledge), top end roaster (Small Batch in Melbourne are turning out some of the best coffee in Australia), baristas who know their stuff, awesome brew bar with every alternative brewing method imaginable, and a great looking fit-out. Easily some of the best coffee I've had in Perth, and the Ethiopia Hunkute espresso I had on their opening day was possibly one of the best coffees I've had full stop.
Their food offerings are limited to bagels, granola, pastries and the like (it's a specialty coffee shop, not a restaurant, so don't expect to come in and get a big breakfast), but what they do have is outstanding. Especially a fan of the bagels which come with various spreads that are absolutely to die for. Surprisingly filling, and great if you're just looking for a light breakfast or lunch.
My only criticism is that every time I've been in, the service has been quite slow. Always friendly, but slow. They're probably a bit understaffed for the volume they're doing, but I suspect that will improve as they find their footing and (hopefully) hire more servers. So, if you're heading in for a coffee or food, expect to hang out for a while - but it's always been worth the wait.
EDIT: I think they've found their footing or hired more/better staff, because the last several visits the service has been very quick.
All in all, what these guys do they do very, very well - highly recommended if you're serious about your coffee.
Checked it out for the first time and was impressed with the fit-out. Plenty of space and natural light made for a nice chilled vibe. Coffee was delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive without unnecessarily bothering you. It's clear to see a lot of care goes into every coffee that is produced (possibly the reason for a short wait) with both coffee connoisseurs and novices catered for. Definitely worth checking out and I am already looking forward to my next visit. Keep up the good work guys.
Incredible coffee. Finding it hard to think of a better espresso in Perth. Delicious!
Coffee great. Have been twice and coffee is excellent. I agree the wait can be lengthy if they are busy but the quality is worth the wait. I found staff to be courteous and helpful and they are passionate about their product

Easily the best coffee in North Perth. I've been here a number of times now, and it's quickly become my go-to place close to home. I can't really believe some of the reviews here. Most of the cafe's in North Perth are more food focused (Hobart Deli and Metrio & Co. do great food, but the coffee is average at best), and it's wonderful to have a coffee-focused cafe. Their blend is fine with milk, and well adapted to the Perth coffee palate. I do love the Ethiopian single origin they are currently grinding out though. So many rich flavours, like syrup in my mouth! If you want your standard large latte go to one of the other cafes, or Dome. For a cafe that's in it's early stages the quality is good, and will only get better.
Sitting in sunny North Perth on a Sunday afternoon enjoying a well made short macchiato to chilled beats in a well-fit out shop? Yes please. Sure service may come across as a bit slow (if you're in a rush, head to engine room) but it came with a smile and a great atmosphere. Would stop by again for sure.
Great Place Great Coffee. Went there today initially to get a takeaway coffee. Looking forward to it as its by the guys who do Standing Room Only in Piccadilly Arcade, Perth - my favourite coffee in town. They recommend coffees based on whether they are good through milk or on their own as espresso, black etc. I have never had a bad recommendation. Ended up dining in and had the Candyman blend in a cappuccino and didn't need sugar - an excellent coffee shouldn't need sugar! Surprise was the bagel hubby had which came with flavoured cream cheeses - raspberry and coffee. I ended up stealing the coffee one cos it was so good. Bagels were lovely. Pity we live so far north otherwise I'd be here all the time.
It’s an enjoyment to see the big man who’s working there is offering great positive caring! We enjoyed so much sitting there having our breakfast. Take your time and relax there!
Coffees were nice but wished they did not serve us tge iced coffees in plastic disposable cups & straws.
Great little cafe, with a nice atmosphere. Music is easy listening, and isn't too over powering, allowing you to have a good conversation.

Really Good latte art. The coffee was a little too luke warm for me (I could drink the entire cup in one gulp) but apparently that was to allow for the perfect temp to do their awesome latte art (which really was awesome). Seems strange to sacrifice a hot coffee for this, but everything else was nice. And they offered to make me a free hotter coffee - so I'm not complaining. :) The service was excellent. Just ask for a 'hot' coffee if you want it hot enough so you can't drink it in one swallow.
The coffee is to die for, the menu is delicious and unique and the service is really awesome. Plus, the decor is excellent and the location is nice
On second viewing, there are some improvements that could be made. Coming in for takeaway can be a bit confusing - you have to wade your way through a few tables to get to the counter and it really isn't very clear whether or not you should wait to be seated or make your way over. Takeaway would be a bit easier with a clear path to the counter.
