I've eaten at a lot of Japanese restaurants around Perth and Washokudo definitely gets closest to the authenticity you would only ever taste when in Japan. Service is also very attentive which further adds to the experience. Amazing!

Next up, we had the Chicken Meatball with Ontama from their Yakitori menu. I loved how tender and packed full of flavour the chicken meatball was which complemented so well with the silky Ontama. If you don’t know what Ontama is, Ontama is short for “Onsen Tamago” also known as “hot spring egg”.
Great little izakaya place just off Walcott Street. It’s chill enough for a casual meal but also nice enough to take a date. It’s tiny though, so I wouldn’t try dining in with a large group. The food is impeccably made and presented - you can tell a lot of thought and care has gone into it. The flavours are authentic and well-balanced. I highly recommend the chicken and spring onion skewers 🍗
Came here for my friend's birthday dinner. I ordered the Black Cod Miso, it was so yummy but portion a bit small. Had the chicken thigh yakitori and it was very delicious. Will come back to try their ramen because they smell really good! LOL
Great tasting authentic Japanese cuisine. Good range of entree, mains aswell as yakitori choice. Must try if you are live around the area. Gets busy with takeaway service aswell
Very nice . Very small restaurant but good is authentic and delicious . If you have any requests they will do their best to accommodate you. Food is fresh, well presented . Been there thrice and haven't been disappointed once. Will definitely be back again .
Awesome food, friendly staff and good atmosphere. We visit here first time then decided to come here again. Thanks for amazing time.
Nice cozy place with amazing food. Read review saying there’s no corkage fee but was charged $3 per pack. Still worth it
Excellent Japanese food.
My wife and I went there and we ordered Teriyaki Salmon, Teriyaki Beef and a Tofu Salad. All of it tasted pretty good
Seems to be fully booked for dinner often enough
Delicious authentic flavour and reasonable prices. Cosy atmosphere. The kitchen however is very slow even with some food pre-cooked (rice, agedashi tofu, miso soup, pickle ) so minus 1 star
I recommend this Japanese restaurant in North Perth as it's a hidden gem.
I've been to a few Japanese restaurants but I would say this place is the most value for money and the service is good. Although, the food came out at a slower pace.
I've made a booking online on their website. As this place is packed on a busy Saturday night. The restaurant is located at the Walcott centre.
We order pork gyoza, premium beef tataki, pork kanakuni, grilled soba mackerel, octopus karage, we also ordered a selection of Yakitori. We also ordered the sashimi selection also ordered the dessert special which is the yuzu cheesecake.
All these dishes came up the value of $147. It was very reasonable priced for the food.
The highlight is BYO with no extra charge. Which we find it's really good.
We will return again with our other friends.
Probably one of Perth's hidden Japanese gems. Everything from the service to the food - amazing.
The first visit was cancelled due to no available seats and no booking. I then booked on weekday before busy hour start which is usually around 6-7 pm.
We ordered nasu dengaku (fried eggplant), gizzard, chicken skewers with spring onion sauce, meatball with ontama, teishoku set, paitan (chicken) ramen. All food served were nice! The portion was average, not much. The food service was fast as only us was the only table at that time.
The only one that annoyed me was a lady who called me on the day to ask whether I came or not. But she didn't speak clearly. After I said I'm at the parking lot, will be there in 5 minutes, she mumbled then hung up the phone. I gave feedback to waitress. It seems not the waitress who called but one of kitchen staff.
