Overall a good experience. Staff were friendly, quick and quality service. The Gyoza wasn’t the best but still ok. Didn’t have the burst of flavour once it hits the palate. Salmon salad lacked a bit of depth in flavour as well. The Ramen was great and tasty, but wish there was more chicken. Lastly, the Edamame was fresh with the perfect amount of salt. Overall 4/5.
The poke bowl reminds me a time when I was in Japan , Tokyo and Osaka. The bowl was filled with fresh ingredients and packed with simple, flavourful flavours of Japan. A bit disappointed with the Karage chicken, it was tasteless. Although the mayo helps bring out some flavour of the dish.
I liked the mini motto motto set (chicken karage, fries, snow peas and choice of your own ice-cream flavour) . It was a good deal and portion size. All tasted decent. The green tea ice-cream tasted like it had some matcha in it but I still enjoyed it. Would recommend and go back.
Always love to dine there. Staff are nice and service was great and quick. Food is very fresh, poke bowl is my favourite and I’ve tried ramen and broth was very nice too, very rich.
Awesome Japanese food with very affordable price and great portion. No wonder why this place is always so crowded. Not only the food is good, their matcha green tea ice cream is very tasty too. Love the bitterness of it. You can have it for $1 when purchasing any main dish. Have been there for a few times already and I will definitely come back.
Quite pricey considering the relatively normal serving sizes but overall the taste was decent. Chicken katsu curry could have done with a little more curry though...
Slice beef, pork belly rice bowls and mixed green tea ice cream are all excellent choices.
Deserve five stars on those dishes
Great food. Great service and great ambience. Got the red ramen, fried chicken and vegetables bowl. Loved the $1 green tea ice cream at the end. Highly Recommended
A bit on the pricey side, but it makes up for it on the speedy service and the rich flavours in the ramen broth. Ramen was very flavourful and spot on, but their rice bowls are disappointing and not of value. We missed out on the matcha ice cream because the food was filling. We will be back for the matcha!
I strongly recommend their newcomers burger, do needs to add WASABI mayo. Then you get a fresh lettuce, juicy beef patty and wasabi sparks your tongue then. This one is the best choice for this summer! Must-try Wagyu Beef Burger!
- Tried the classic ramen and it was so bombs!
- Also tried the Japanese fried chicken and ohhhh boy that was so delicious!
- Poke was really good as well
- Overall really good food and good customer service, would recommend if anyone is trying to try out delicious japanese cuisine.
We went here for lunch and ordered the poke bowl, new style chirashi bowl and soft shell crab. The mains were great and of good portion. Personally, I was not a big fan of the soft shell crab- found it underwhelming. The restaurant was very busy at peak lunch time but everyone seemed to manage to get a seat. Water is self serve and provided in very cute cups.
Really nice place to eat out! Would say they have a good price point considering the portions they give you. The food is full of flavour and is filling. You can also get an extra free serve of ramen noodles with your ramen order but I didn’t take advantage of this as one serve was already enough. Customer service was really friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and come back :)
Fresh look, feel and food! This place delivers on Japanese salads, soups and sides! The ice cream unique! Motto Motto really means more good food!
For a casual Japanese dining restaurant, I would say this is on the pricier end, but i definitely would come back again to try out other food items on the menu!
The Wagyu beef sandwich reminded me of the taste of a Big Mac, but with better quality meat. I thoroughly enjoyed the Poke bowl, thank goodness the sashimi was fresh and didn't have a scent to it. Standard seaweed fries, wasn't soggy but a bit salty. Would give this place another go when I am nearby.
My Kinda Friday Brunch at 📍@mottomotto_japanese. Craving for some Salmon and soft Shell Crab 🦀. Smeared salmon and avocado topped with mayo and fish roe and there’s this (kinda sweet sauce, taste more like sweet soy sauce) really nice blend with the salmon and rice. I have soft Shell crab very well cooked very nice to have with my main dish. I really love seafood and Crab. And I have really enjoyed this meal.
I haven't tried a variety of things from Motto Motto - but what I have tried, I LOVE, so I keep coming back to it.
I go for the JFC karaage chicken side & the pork gyoza every time, and they are both equally as tasty & satisfying as the other. The karaage chicken is crispy, hot & delicious and is accompanied with a creamy kewpie mayo - the portion size is also quite generous.
The pork gyoza's are always steaming hot & packed full of flavour.
I'm hoping to soon branch out and try more of their menu, after I get over my huge obsession for the karaage chicken & gyoza's! :)
Pretty delicious stuff, great portions too. We got the tantanmen with extra kaedama, and the poké bento set. The tantanmen was a bit on the salty side however overall it was a good meal and will come back to try the other stuff.
Ambience was great, location was busy yet homely, poké bowl was a little costly as a meal, however, the green tea soft serve that came at $1 was delicious.
$1matcha softserve with every meal...Limited time only?! YES PLEASE! Decided to to have the original spicy ramen and I don’t regret it. The pork is soooo juicy and you can never get enough of seaweed! It wasn’t as chili as I expected, but some might disagree 😆. Over all service was friendly, even though most of it is self serve😊. The soft serve has such a rich matcha taste I absolutely loved it 🤤 Definitely excited to try the other food on the menu! Will be back!
This gets 4 stars instead of 3 because of their green tea and vanilla soft serve which is really really good. Their poke bowl and karage curry chicken is pretty good though a tad expensive but overall enjoyable experience.
My friend and I️ went in here looking for a cheap quick casual bite to eat. Ding ding ding, Motto Motto hit the spot!
She got karaage chicken (no rice), I️ got the chicken curry and rice. Both got the seaweed fries. We both really enjoyed our food and the green tea soft serve (only $1 with our meals). The curry sauce was delicious! I️ ended up scraping the last of it with my fries. Only improvement would be to add more veg to the rice bowl.
My friend went back 2 more times later that week haha! I’ll definitely be back.
Finally some good ramen at Macquarie Centre! The red ramen is super good and the perfect level of spice. The Pork Belly melts in your mouth. The gyozas are delicious as is the chicken karaage Japanese roll. The line can get pretty huge on Thursday night/weekend dinner but this place is well worth the hype.
Wow, this place is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 prices, staff, food, ambience 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 tried the salmon avo w salad, the soft shell crab roll and the pork belly w rice 👅👅👅💦💦💦 will be back to try more
Tried the classic pork ramen with pork gyoza. Pork gyoza tasted a bit oily but was decent. The pork chashu was very soft and came apart easily, giving me a delicious mouthful in every bite! The soup was amazing, much more flavourful than other ramen places. Would definitely come back again just for the pork ramen!
Food: 8/10
Service: 7/10
Price: 7/10
Overall: 7.5/10
This restaurant had a lot of hype surrounding it when it first opened. I was pretty excited to try a new Japanese place that's so close to uni, so I gave it a go. Unfortunately didn't get to try the ramen because it was all sold out, so we opted for the salmon poke bowl and seared salmon and avocado rice.
The food was delicious; great portions as well and a perfectly reasonable price for lunch or dinner. The service was good as well, and we were able to find a seat straight away (this was a few weeks after opening).
Would definitely go again to try the ramen!
friendly and fast service! food was delicious and well presented, highly recommend for a modern japanese experience! will be coming back for more more ;)
Love the seared salmon avocado rice here, salmon and avocado looked very nice. Their green is also one of the best ice creams I've had. Would definitely recommend.
Seared salmon avocado has been my favourite for a while now and for good reason. Its amazing! Got recommended ramen red a while back and i tried today. Still wont beat Seared Salmon but definitely second best!
On my first visit to motto motto and definitely not the last, I had a wonderful experience with the seared salmon with avocado and was simply delicious.
To add to this, the staff was really friendly and enthusiastic and such a clean restaurant where the food arrived very promptly.
Plus they have a delicious green tea ice cream like nowhere else!
I would highly recommend this restuarant to every food lover .
I’ve been to motto motto almost everyday now. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff especially is the friendliest I’ve ever met. Many of them have suggested the Soft Shell crab roll which I must also recommend to newcomers to this restaurant. A must eat in Macquarie Centre!
A busy and bustling place, with heaps of interesting options on the menu. I got the tuna and salmon poke bowl which was very fresh and tasty! The tuna and salmon is good quality, as were all the other ingredients. I will be back soon to try the matcha soft serve!
Had the pork belly japanese roll for dinner and was very satisfied with the taste! There was a good amount of meat in it and the portion size was just right.
It was also nice to end my meal with a classic green tea ice cream. :)
The staff there were all very nice and helpful too. One of them suggested that I should try out the pork belly roll, so kudos to you waiter!
Much enjoyed, 4/5.
Newly open Japanese casual dining, abit kaotic given everyone still new, hence service will be subpar.
Ramen was amazing, 12 hour broth is awesomely Devine. 4/5.
GYOZA a bit dry, and little over cooked.
Chips was really crispy and delicious.
Biggiest let down was pork belly roll, mustard was to overpowering, I spent my lunch in tears... Way to much mustard.
I'll certainly give this place another shot next month yo see if there is any improvement. Concept is great and certainly a much needed injection of variety to North Ryde area.
I’ve been excited for this to open ever since it got announced for Macquarie Park. The food was really tasty with a hearty broth in the ramen and nicely flavored pork belly (not traditional chashu). The dumplings left a little to be desired, tasting like frozen store bought variety however the food was pretty decent overall. Coming back again soon!
