Review Kasalong Thai Cuisine - North Ryde

Food was excellent. A decent range of dishes. Service was a little slow but the waiter was friendly cheerful and well mannered. The restaurant is up a flight of stairs and I don't know if there is wheelchair access. It has two levels, is clean, and has a nice relaxed ambience. Highly recommended for it's quality food

****edit - currently closed???**** We eat here often and have never had a bad dish. The serves are huge, fresh and delicious. We had dinner for 7 people last night, we were all full, for less than $100. The Massaman Beef Curry is a favourite and we love trying new dishes too. #golocal

We came 3 times in a week as the food is too delicious to miss. It is authentic and huge portion, especially lunch special. The lady boss is very passionate and introduced us Singha beer to drink. Weekend dinner time is always busy, best time to enjoy is weekday lunch time.

Food was absolutely delicious. Cannot fault them except the fried icecream was abit too thick for the outter dough. Nevertheless, taste wise was nice. Service was abit slow but we were patient enough for its worth on the wait from all those delivery orders. Highly recommend this place for its value and quality.

THE MOST AMAZING THAI I HAVE EVER HAD! Their lunch deal is unbeatable! $10.90 for any dish (pad se ew is my absolute favourite!) with a can of drink! You can’t beat it!

Nice little cozy place for delicious and authentic Thai cuisine. Service time was bit more than it should be but the food is amazing. The menu offers some really exciting options to choose from. Advice: if you are going in a large group, book and order in advance to avoid the waiting.

I ordered honey chicken tonight and clearly got lemon chicken. When I called, I was told “honey chicken is very popular, we’ve been doing this for 5 years”. That’s cool and all, but it was lemon sauce and the lemon rind in the sauce didn’t convince me otherwise. Pretty poor customer service.

They are so nice and kind:) And thier foods are best Thai foods in my life! Even if you have naver ate some Thai foods, it'll be great experience to go this store. One more thing, after having some food, buy some candy at the cashier. It was great.

Food is good but the middle old age waitress really didn't know how to be a waitress.<br/><br/>She was black face as soon as we walked in. Took our order from another table two meters away like we had a coronavirus. Disappeared after taking the order and I had to go to the kitchen inside to ask for something, found her chatting with the chef and eating a carrot inside. <br/><br/>Worst of all, she handed out one menu only but hid the lunch special menu. I found out at the end so I paid more by ordering the same food. Her cheeky behaviour was not the first time. Last time we went there, she was there, too (only one waitress). I ordered one bowl of rice and she charged me two serve of rice. Both time I went there, we were the only customers in the whole restaurant so there was no way she would mix that up.<br/><br/>Maybe she was a relative to the boss. I would fry her immediately.<br/><br/>Lastly, the restaurant is old and dirty. It made the light dark so you cannot see the dust. The carpet really sticky.

I often get food delivered from this place.  Thai food has always been one of my comfort food and Kasalong Thai offers great value and service.

This is a delayed blog post. On a particularly lazy weeknight, Matt and I decide to go out for some thai. We have decided to check out Kasalong Thai in North Ryde which is located on Cox Rd. We walk up the stairs and are seated. There&#039;s a customer at the counter who&#039;s arguing with the staff on the prices on the menu for take away v.s dine in. I block out the noise and focus on what I want to order.

It was a really good place,awesome food and staff. But with the new management and new menu, it was a disaster! From service to food, nothing went fine. There was a messed up with the order, staff doesn't even know about their dishes when questions were asked. The food was overcooked, bland, dried. Took away the food after we asked for take away container. I miss the old Kasalong Thai!

Great place , great service and generous food. I ordered soft shell crab som tum! It’s the best ever! Crispy sweet n sour combination so good ! The sizzling hot plate curry also the best with vegetable and tofu. For the seafood I choose the wild ginger and peppercorn stir fried! Everything here so good even the roti!!

Thai restaurant of choice for folks in the Nth Ryde precinct. We have had lots of good team lunches over the years and many more late evening takeaways back to home (or even work - when we were on the evening shift years ago). Choice of dishes - Pad Thai (with lots of chilly flakes) and Tom Yum soup and Chicken Satay are yours truly's dishes of choice.

It is located upstairs above a pharmacy without good sign post.  It amazes me the restaurant is still operating considering it serves extremely average Thai food.  Ivory Thai was our choice of Thai restaurant in the area but once in a blue moon we decided to change scenery and visited this alternative.  They did have $10 lunch special where you could find all the usual suspects. The food was bland and didn't quite hit the spot like Thai food usually did.  After I tried, I decided to stick with Ivory Thai down the road.

I go here for the lunch specials as they are $10 and the portion size is very generous. I highly recommend the pineapple fried rice and the massaman curry. The customer service is fine and the food comes out quickly. They are currently going under a renovation and the sign says it will re-open end of October.

Not a great experience with new management. Ordered a chicken dish found a bone in the meal, had a scotch with ice and a frozen ant (frozen ant was not a request) at lunch time. Upon paying the bill I told them what had happen all I got was an insincere apology and a full priced bill. Thank you I will not be returning.

New owner and chef have made an incredible difference. All dishes drastically improved, staff warm and welcoming, now the local restaurant of choice.Do try the Pad Thai, cashewnut stirfry and the lemon lime n bitters.

Our favourite Thai restaurant in the local area. Staff are very warm and friendly making you feel welcome. The environment is comfortable an inviting. Food is very customisable especially for gluten free intolerance. The seafood is very fresh and melts in mouth. We love the ginger seafood stir fry. Very reasonably priced and affordable restaurant. We will be back :)

Typical Thai. Have eaten here about 3-4 times, and have also had take-aways a few times. The food is typical western Thai, with no real stand-out dishes - either good or bad. Stopped coming here when we found a more traditional Thai place nearby.

Friendly staff and good food.. Over past 5 years have enjoyed Praram Thai food with friends, often 12 or more. No problems talking to? & hearing each other while enjoying the food. An excellent "local" eatery.

Ordered three dishes, none of them were good. I didn't even finish half of my pad thai chicken.

Not really. This place was a bit small, food was average. Had a farewell lunch over there one day and nothing special.
