Review Ivory Thai - North Ryde

A very nice Thai place. Would come again :) the lunch special is a good deal

Great food and beer selection and an excellent service staff.

Good Thai restaurant is not hard to find. Great Thai restaurant and decent pricing is hard to find. My first Thai food encounter was in Bangkok Jumbo ? floating restaurant ages ago. Since then I fell in love with tom yum goong . Ivory Thai has similar taste to that restaurant which make me always come back here for that and red duck curry dish. Decent price (discount when you pay cash !) is a great addition to Ryde area food scene.

Honestly the BEST Thai food I've ever had. An absolute regular. Lightning fast delivery, food arrives searing hot. Full of flavour and they listen to your special requests. Delicious!!!

Worst Thai food in Sydney. No flavour (actually had to add salt), curries watered down. Pad see ew has odd taste — nothing like normal and also thinned out sauce. Many noodles not even coated. Very little meat and veg. No reply from manager after contacting. Awful!

Better than your average Thai. Their Moo Tod (deep fried pork) was a delight, very light and crispy and great accompaniment to rice, salad and a very simple sweet chilli sauce. Their pad Thai was also very tasty, I feel more authentic than most others. Penang curry was a little average but their money bags are really good as well. Great local Thai that I would not hesitate to come back to.

Good Thai restaurant with extensive menu. Scallop fried rice was definitely a highlight, with lots of plump juicy scallops. The fried rice itself also had a great savoury umami flavour that I can't quite put my finger on, but was really good. The Pad See Ew was also very nice, a little bit sweet, and unfortunately they use chicken breast (I much prefer thigh). Service was very good and friendly. Will be back to try other menu items

Quick and tasty suburban Thai restaurant. I’ve eaten four times here and will come again in future. They also have cheap and cheerful lunch specials. Recommended.
Moira Marien
They make the best Pad Kee Mao. Thanks

I’m a Thai food lover, I thought I’d give a try even though it may not be very good, shouldn’t be too bad, seriously it turned out to be the worst pad Thai I’ve ever had! Ver few of seafood and the noodle tasted weird... will not come bk again

Ordered a chicken pad thai and a beef pad see ew. Pad thai had a very sludgy texture throughout and there was barely any chicken mixed in. Pad see ew was much more enjoyable. Chose to have this delivered and they didn't provide cutlery..?

Amazing food, well priced and generous portions.
One of our favorite Thai restaurant. Very attentive service, and the food comes out pretty quickly. My favorite is the Pad Thai 👍🏻
Decent thai restaurant on cox road having an extensive menu. Their lunch specials are good value for money. Limited seating so a busy friday will leave you waiting. Recommend a takeaway

A good little Thai place if you work/live in the area. Used to come here every so often when I worked nearby and order a spread and share. Always satisfying and filling. Pretty fast service too, because that’s always important when you’re on an hr lunch break. Turns out delivery is fast too so they’re reliable!

Only tried the curries, noodles/rice and never had a major problem. Sometimes the food is a little over flavourful and heavy but some people prefer that. Pad kee mao was good and somewhat spicy which is always welcome.

Trustworthy, yummy thai.

Ordered Their fried rice while its pretty affordable theres no love shown on the dish. very plain with no garnish although the flavour is quite nice. staff are quite friendly and the dishes came out pretty quick. we also ordered their green curry and its quite nice too.

I've said this a lot of times now, but I'm a local around the Macquarie area, and funnily enough, I had never tried Ivory Thai. Bumping into an old high school acquaintance on the bus home from uni, we decided to catch up, and this place stood out on Cox's Rd. Pretty laidback atmosphere, average service, got to choose whatever seat we wanted.

Ordered the standard chicken pad thai ($15 was a bit pricey), but the serving was definitely a lot bigger than I thought. Taste was ok, nothing amazing, and the same with my friend, who ordered the tom yum thai fried ($15). Big serving too, very spice heavy, but did the job making you full. Definitely a good place to talk, noticed a lot of people get takeaway.

Funnily, one customer complained about being served the wrong dish for takeaway whilst I was dining before storming off. He got quite heated, but the staff remained composed and not phased by it (which is a credit to them). Overall, still a decent place to check out for locals!

While their portions are certainly huge and there are positives in the food, I was mostly disappointed. The spring rolls felt factory-produced and were served with a sticky sauce, not much to rave about. The classic red curry looked promising, as it came loaded with all sorts of healthy veggies. However, they overworked the sweet element. All I was left with was coconut on my palate. The fragrant jasmine rice did help matters.

This restaurant is in the middle of shoplots. Near to 2hrs free carpark which is very convenient.
The service is good and fast. We ordered chilli jam cashew nut and chilli basil. The food is ok but slightly sweeter.

If you are heading there for lunch, please prepare cash as they do not accept cards during lunchtime.

We ordered delivery and we must say this is one of the most delicious Thai delivery we've ever had. There's not one dish we can fault. The prawn spring rolls and fresh rolls were divine.

Came here with a big work group for lunch. The place was very popular, and most tables were full. They set us up on a big table inside at the back of the restaurant, which was a bit warm and didn't vent well on a hot sunny day. However that was about the only negative thing I found about the place. Most of us got a lunch special, which were pretty good size servings for the price (between $10-14). A range of dishes were ordered, curries, noodles, stir fry, rice, roti, vegetarian. Everyone was happy with their meal, I had combination pad kee mao which was a good level of spiciness and the basil fragrant really come through. Will definitely be back again to try something else next time!

This was where I fell in love with Pad Prik Pking sauce. Tired of classic curry and stir fry dishes, I tried Prik Pking for the first time, it was a marriage made in heaven between the chilli, fish sauce and palm sugar. It was good with any seafood or meat. They offered really good value lunch time special for $10. The massaman curry was one of the best I tried. The sauce was perfectly rich and creamy. The only catch for lunch was the servicing was on the small side, but it was under $10 after all. It was a great spot to get quality Thai food at bargain price!

Expensive and overrated!!!!

I have ordered take away from this place 3 times.

1st time: I got Grilled Marinated Chicken ($15.90) - no issues.

2nd time: I ordered the same thing 2 weeks later and got only 2/3 of the chicken portion (compared to the first time) and they forgot the lettuce! So the salad was literally 2 quartered bits of tomato and some grated carrot. For $16.

I decided to give this place one more shot, so I got the Kai Tod (deep fried chicken with salad). My gosh - the chicken was so overcooked I thought I was going to rip my teeth out from chewing the meat. Stiff as a board. And the sweet chilli sauce portions were tiny. The tiny sauce container was only filled 1/4 of the way.

DEFINITELY NOT GOING BACK - there are so many other other Thai places that do better.

I have always gotten takeaway delivered from this restaurant and they are mostly always really quick with their deliveries. My favourite is the pad Kee Mao with the roast pork but I decided to order something different today and got the pad see ew. It may not be the best I've had but it is still definitely enjoyable.

This place is quick and fast and always reliable. Located in North Ryde - i go here when a group of my work mates are time poor and want something tasty. They do cheap lunch specials and they are very popular with the surrounding corporates in Macquarie Park. I highly recomment the Pad See Eiw.

A local favourite. ..Ivory Thai does the most awesome Tom Yum Fried Rice. Portion size leaves a little more to be desired. The lunch special is awesome value and highly recommended

Terrible service. Ordered the green curry with chicken, and the duck with plum sauce at 1:10. Estimated delivery time was 2:04. Food arrived at 2:58. That's 1 hour and 48 minutes - the length of a feature film. Received no apology. Food was okay.

Quite nice food, one of our favourites for Thai in the area. The restaurant isn't fancy and the service is average at best but who cares - it's Thai and it's nice
GabrielleTim
Average service. Food arrived 90 minutes after order (30 mins after the expected delivery). Food was on the cold side. A bit disappointing. Flavours in food were good, though!

Delicious best curry I've had. I would definitely recommend the Choo Chee Prawns

This place is the yummiest Thai I have had in a long while. Love the homemade dumplings...mmmmm mmm!

Good take away - haven't tried sit in yet. Money bags were a bit burnt and wasn't the cheapest Thai I've ever had...

Great food, nice and casual. We had dinner here a few days before Christmas and had a great night.

It's nice and casual with indoor/outdoor seating.

The dishes we had were the duck spring rolls, fish cakes, pad thai, soft shell crab with papaya, masssaman curry, and a chicken red curry.

It's BYO, the staff were friendly, it was reasonably priced ($120 for four full adults) and all the food we had was very nice.

As a Thai food fan I'm really looking forward to going back again.

Rang and ordered Take Away.Told me it would be 25 minutes (well it was Friday night after all). Arrived after 30 minutes (just to make sure). Still had to wait another 20 minutes. While waiting observed staff running around totally disorganised. Finally got the food. It was pleasant but nothing out of the ordinary. Won't bother going there again as it is a total ordeal.

Mate $8.90 lunch special on all the most popular currys, can't go wrong. Green curry is great here.
Chris
Slow service and very small servings. Average food, I've had better. Disappointing...

Good for Lunch. Their pad thai is a great little dish and I can recommend their duck spring rolls
