Review Max Brenner - North Ryde

Perfect destination for someone who has sweet tooth like myself. I have my go to order 80s milkshake and berrilicious pancake (the picture given). In general, the place is perfect for catching up with friends or for casual coffee. Neat and quick in getting your order. Nice Leather finish sitting area. Spacious for pram parking. Varied menu option and you can grab some chocolate for gifts too. Absolutely recommended 🤍

Tried Max Brenner for the first time ever. Ordered a S'mores Pancakes and a Chocolate Fondue for Two. The chocolate was nice and smooth. Serving sizes were also quite good. Overall, it was quite enjoyable, and I'll be interested in trying some of their other offerings in the future.

To be honest, all max branders bout the same. Chocolates good and wonderful deserts. Definitly not empty calories. Lot of goodies to choose from - only problem this joint always have masssive queues. Like 10min Long queues just to order. You have to wait and wait and wait… But if you’re with your loved ones or fun peeps, I guess the wait time will go like seconds and you will just be enjoying the wonderful goodies :) 3 star, 1 star taken off due to wait time.

The milk chocolate mocha was delicious and served in an interesting cup. Also recommend the tutti frutti waffle, yum 😋.

The crepe wasn’t loaded with chocolate like I had expected. The front door to the cafe cannot be closed so it was freezing. The staff are nice and polite though

Love Max Brenner, I definitely think their chocolate is MUCH better than Oliver Brown or Tella Balls. Had a milk hot chocolate and a tutti fruity waffle with milk chocolate sauce and both were 👌👌👌

Decent experience with fondue.. had a birthday sparkler...good space for tables...

A great place for chocolate lovers. Been there couple of times. My kid and I love the Brownie Fudge Sundae here. Tried couple of other deserts here like Banana Split, Fondue etc. and they were quite good too. Plenty of spaces inside and infront of the shop road side (under cover though, at the entrance of the center). Found it quite busy on weekends. Recommended.

No organisation of the place- waiters tell you that you have to order before getting a seat, but why would you order if you dont have a table... cashier with the dark eye liner is totally rude.<br/>

I always come to Max Brenner for their waffle to satisfy my cravings. Every time I have it, it never fails me. The waffle’s crunchiness, the chocolate’s taste, and the sides’ mixed flavours are very well-balanced.

We had the chocolate soufflé and the cookies shake recently. Both the dishes looked appealing and tasted well. They had an apt sweetness and the chocolate tasted rich. <br/>The staff was good and cooperative, despite being amongst many customers. The ambience is also great seating options indoors and in the open.

Every single time I go to this Max Brenner location, they always tell me it is a 30-40 minute wait for food and hot drinks. if you can’t manage your orders to be served within half an hour, something is seriously wrong. When Max Brenner first started, it was such an awesome franchise, but now it’s gone completely downhill. The prices are ridiculously expensive - $6.20 for a hot chocolate (but then you also have to wait half an hour for it). <br/><br/>I went yesterday, only to get some of their solid chocolate blocks to eat before seeing a movie. We stood at the counter waiting to be served while the staff kept telling us ‘we’ll be with you soon’, while fixing an order for a deliveroo courier. it took us 5 minutes to get served and buy a small $3 block of chocolate. I’m not sure why MB are trying to tap into the food delivery market when they cant even serve their in store customers? Doesn’t make sense..

Being in Australia, it was a long time craving for myself after a friend suggested me to try it out, and when the day came, We just dropped in for a Small pit-stop kind of break while we were heading back home after a hectic NY Celebration, and I loved the Milkshakes that I have ordered them, though the serving period was a bit of delay due to shortage of man power and more Number of customers. Loved the ambience.

Went for a really late dessert hang at Max Brenner around 9.50pm. We managed to get a table, but the place was semi busy for a Monday night. <br/><br/>We ordered 2x strawberry dip, the chocolate soufflé and the tutti frutti waffles. The strawberry dip is a good choice for a plain but satisfying dessert (safe option). The soufflé was rich and really good, would definitely recommend this. I found my waffle very dense and doughy so the waffle itself wasn’t the best. The rest of the chocolate and strawberry and banana was good though.

[3.5/5] Ordered: <br/>•New York Iced Coffee ($8.50) - Probably one of the best iced coffees I’ve had from a cafe. However, $8.50 is a ridiculous and expensive price. The drink can actually be shared between 2 people but it’s an expensive drink even if it does taste very good.

My favorite is the chocolate souffle. Apart from that I've tried the babka, fondue and waffles which are all okish. Extremely overpriced though for what it's worth.

Ordered Iced Latte, Mini Max Sundae and Choc Nut Brownie. Was told we had to wait 25 minutes. No further explanation given. You can figure out why the rating is 2⭐️ from there.<br/><br/>Worst Iced Latte ever!!!<br/><br/>Used to think they had a pretty good working formula but I guess any good idea can be wrecked by bad staff.<br/>

Can I live here?? My favourite place for dessert, seating is a big fail especially when it’s busy because there’s practically nothing available, as well when your orders ready but your standing up waiting for someone to leave but the chocolate always makes you forget all the worries and problems.....

Always a nice place for catch ups with uni friends. Can’t go wrong with a Milk Italian Hot chocolate <br/>Place is always busy but understaffed. So tables go un cleaned and it looks messy! Needs more TLC

Always a nice place to hang out for dessert but it’s pretty pricey for what you get. Their hot chocolate is super rich so I always opt for the dark chocolate so it’s not too sweet.

Love their coffees and the waffles they serve is just mind blowing. You will always find me here if I have a sweets craving. The service is quick too.

Always a good place to go to satisfy your chocolate cravings and sweet tooth. Would definitely say they are a little more generous with the chocolate servings here compared to other Max Brenner locations. Also has quick service and friendly staff :)

This place is amazing. It is just pure chocolate pleasure. If you have not been here yet, you are missing out. The waffles ,crepes ,hot chocolate etc.. everything is just perfect.

Fri 9pm, Try to get a takeaway hot chocolate and been told there is a 40 mins wait on everything. Looks like they cant even get the staffing right

The ambience is nice. At the outset, appears to be a very nice place. However, the truth is far from it. Food looks very good in pictures but in reality even look-wise it doesn't match up. Be prepared to get expensive dessert in broken/chipped crockery. No spoons to eat ice creams! Taste is average. Don't go there

This is the place for all chocoholics out there! Their Italian hot chocolate is to die for. It's thick, creamy, and more chocolatey than you can ever imagine. They have a more diverse menu than any other chocolate-themed cafe/bar I've visited. The service is fast. If you go during peak times, mostly in the evenings, chances are that you'll have to wait to be seated. An alternative is that you get your food packed and go eat in the food court or your home!

After a disappointing lunch we came across the outlet on our way out of the mall. The staff were friendly and the service prompt. <br/>Coconut and chocolate drink : got a thumbs up from a non chocolate lover :)<br/>Baby chino and marshmallows: bub enjoyed his strawberry flavoured marshmallows.<br/>80’s milkshakes: I just loved this and then died of guilt:D <br/>Will surely return to try out the other things on the menu.

✔️ Quick and good service on a Saturday night. Im a regular at Max Brenner and the workers here at Macquarie are so friendly and always have a smile on their face. Came here for dessert with a few friends. Ordered a coconut hot choc, 2 lattes (they were literally being served as I took this photo if u can see the waiters hand in the background), 2 crepes and a Belgian waffle. All dishes were lovely and perfect for a sweet craving - can't go wrong with max brenner desserts 😍<br/><br/>❌ The coconut hot chocolate and latte was fine but my soy latte was served cold. 😡

I do enjoy drinking a Mexican spicy dark hot chocolate. What is it with cafes. Max Brenner has too be the worst. I think the cheapest amount you can spend in this cafe on something is $ 6 . <br/>But, look around at all the chairs most of the brown cover has worn off this is the same for a couple of their other stores i have been too. The management will have you sitting in chairs that remind you of a dogs breakfast just so they can pull in ridiculous amounts of money. There is no shame. Ever heard of renovating maybe getting new chairs. No obviously management don't care about the appearance of there cafés. No one complains the customers roll up money comes i chocolates are sold none the wiser?

Also have had their iced chocolate, late, chocolate pizza and chocolates coated strawberries. Extremely tasty, rich chocolate. However, price is a little heavy in comparison to the portion of dessert. Very tasty though.

The flavour of the hot chocolate doesn't compensate for the ridiculous prices and miserable customer service.<br/><br/>It's probably open only because of the student clientele.

Ultimate chocolate lovers dream! The menu and coffee, is chocolate, on chocolate. <br/>Menus is slightly over priced- owing to the amount of good quality chocolate you get. <br/>Service is slightly on the 'minimal conversation' side,as it gets pretty busy.

Chocolate, being high on the list as a dessert that you can't go wrong with - led us to Max Brenner chocolate bar. Spoilt for choice Mlady (uncharacteristically in regard to chocolate) decided to let Sir choose. Well, the dessert he chose was absolutely incredible. We shared a chocolate pizza with a crunch that was topped with pure melted chocolate, fluffy marshmallow and crunchy bits. This was seriously so good. It looked good and it tasted good. The base was very light and the chocolate was divine. Very decadent, more-ish and oh so yummy. If you have a sweet tooth you will most certainly love this.

It has turned out to be just a pot full of sugary so called chocolate with no chocolate flavor. I can just think of calories while having this. Can no longer relish the rich chocolate flavor as there is none left

This MB outlet is alway busy, being right across the uni & limited dessert options available at the Macquarie Centre. The furnishings had also seen a lot of wear & tear over time, but luckily the food & drinks are still good. I was too full from dinner, so just had a hot chocolate. My friends tried a few of their other offers. Particularly worth noting for the serious chocoholic is the Chocolate Lick which is just a pot of melted chocolate & nothing else, no need to waste calories of anything else if that's what u want!

What can I say that hasn't already been said ?, in its early days, they were unique and had a love of serving chocolate. Now it's more a love of mass production and money. The love affair is truly over and what we have now is your average chocolate bar trading on a name

Came here after dinner. We had choc fondu for two. It comes with milk choc and dark choc dipping, strawberries,banana bread, banana and mashumarow. Milk choc was too sweet to eat and tasted cheap chocolate :( I prefer dark but still too sweet for me. Earl Gray was good.

Had a dark chocolate mocha while waiting for mum to finish her shopping at Macquarie Park. It always satisfies! Too bad I was too full for desert from lunch there were so many great goodies to choose from!

What a Let down, place is a disaster. We ordered chocolate fondue for 2 platter,<br/>You expect the chocolate to be hot, but I guess they Like to serve it cold.<br/>

Went for something a little different to the waffles I usually get, the pavlova sundae. The sundae comes with vanilla ice cream, passionfruit, strawberries, meringue, bananas, and of course a little pot of melted chocolate just so you don't feel like you're completely missing out. It was enjoyable but pretty standard Max Brenner quality dessert. I didn't think the meringue was a nice touch. Too artificial and broke the fruitiness of the rest of the dessert.

Max Brenner currently have limited edition easter desserts out and i was fortunate to try both. OMG chocolate heaven! How has no one else thought of the Easter Bun ice cream sandwich!! Get one asap.

We always have Max Brenner in popular places with good views. This is the first time we have it inside a mall. Not sure whether it is psychological but it doesn't taste as great.<br/><br/>Bottom lie : Good drink. Average cafe service. Average value.

Good ole chocolate by the bald man! <br/><br/>Waffles were always my fav and they go so well with an extra shot of chocolate and a side of strawberries and ice cream. <br/><br/>Can sometimes be a bit busy but hey it's chocolate so of course you are more than happy to wait for that gooey goodness! <br/><br/>Try the white chocolate chai- pretty neat!

I love Max Brenner but I do think I like it better before. The chocolate isn't as amazing as it use to be and I feel their OG dishes are better than their new ones. The prices can also be pretty high for what you get but that's most chocolate bars for you.

Not happy! I ordered the Brownie Sundae and for $14 I was expecting an amazing Brownie Sundae-what did I get? A piece of brownie with a scoop of icecream. <br/>The waiter said it was the brownie Sundae so I didn't mention anything but I've come home and read the menu and it's clear the just gave us the brownie which cost $6 yet charged us $14 for it. <br/>Really upset and I won't be returning. How can somewhere steal $8 from you?! The big menu didn't have a description so I thought we must have been wrong but now I see they just ripped us off!

I've been here a few times and the service is always good. Love that they are open late!

A must try for chocolate lovers! A couple of other things I’ve tried and loved are the white hot chocolate, the white shake with lychee and coconut, and the chocolate with crunchy waffle balls, in the hug mug of course!! But the chocolate fondue for two is a great dessert to share, so give it a go!

Italian Thick Dark Chocolate (AUD 6), the chocolate very thick, it is better to share it.. I prefer normal dark chocolate...

Speaking of waistlines, we had a quick coffee and dessert pit stop at Max Brenner (Macquarie Shopping Centre, North Ryde) last Saturday. I’m sure they must have just recently opened as last time we were on that side of the shopping centre some 5 months ago, it was a diner type restaurant. New or not, you guys know how much I love chocolates so I simply had to go there and indulge.

Always forget something in my order!!!. Im so fed up this is the 3rd time they have forgotten my ice cream and strawberry's in my tutti fruity for one take away!!!!!!! really upset they haven't even answered the phone so i could go back to fix the order and there really slow there aswel had a line out the door we waited 20 mins for the takeaway and it was ruined when we got home thanks!!

The worst hot chocolate ever!!!

Way too slow.. 15 minutes for the 4 people in front of me to order (by no fault of their own). 20+ minute wait for a bad, overpriced hot chocolate. No thanks.

Terrible service. Normally I like visiting Max Brenner. Macquarie Centre however was awful. The queue to order was inefficient and so slow if took 15 mins to filter through about 4 tables worth. Once we'd ordered (2 coffees and 2 milkshakes) we then waited about 20 minutes to be served and by then the coffees were no longer hot. Never going there again.

Imcompetent inefficient lack of common sense. I've been to Max Brenner often and I must say that I've enjoyed both the taste and the service. However, this time I just wanted a takeaway babyccino for my 2 yr old. The girl at the counter had no idea how to make it. She looked up a chart and she gave me a baby size cup with a shot of coffee with froth n drizzled with chocolate( no milk). When I tasted it and went back she insisted that it was a babyccino n she removed some of the froth from the same cup and told me that it now has half a shot. I had to catch the bus so didnt have the time to argue. I tasted it n tossed it in the bin. I've never had coffee that strong let alone give it to my kid. Also, they took an awful long time to make the thing and more time to so called correct it. As far I know, a babyccino has NO coffee in it n they charged me 2 bucks for that trash. Macquarie Max Brenner sucks!

I've been to this chain restaurant elsewhere and had a good time. This particular place does not deserve to call itself max brenner. Disgusting! The whole floor is covered it chocolate reminance. The tables are gross and uncleared. When the waiter came to give us our fondu (30 mins after we ordered) he placed the board on top of the chocolAte and coffee stains instead of cleaning it up. Untidy with tables pushed everywhere. Patrons getting angry at staff for their late food and the waiter responds with disinterest. Should have gone to Woolworths and bought a chocolate bar instead. Now I feel like I need to shower! So gross
