Review No. 5 Cafe - North Strathfield

Friends reunion dinner. Booked for table of 6 been told only outdoor seating available. But after arriving, plenty indoor seatings are vacant. The staffs are not attentive. Have to call out to get service. Pay the bill straight after ordering. Snowing chicken was bit dry and overcooked. The only fancy one is rice wine with honeycomb. $5 extra for honeycomb. It’s very trendy on social media. But I won’t come back for more. Just an average Korean restaurant.

It would be better if heater can be placed in the outdoor dining area, and the meals are very delicious, no any problems.

Dropped by for a drink and snack over the weekend. It was not that busy so it was relatively quick to get service. The coffee was average. However, the food was healthy and tasty. The tables needed a little bit of cleaning. Otherwise, the shop presentation is good. Menu specials are clearly shown. Outdoor seating is available. Cosy interior with TV on. Worth a visit.

Nice ambience and internal decor etc, and a generally pleasant atmosphere. However, staff seem to be running around with little experience in managing the place. Saw wrong coffees delivered to a table, and my own simple single order for a coffee took about 15-20 minutes before I had to enquire and run after it. Staff need to keep track of who’s waiting on what, especially when not so busy on a regular Sat mid-morning.

Great food, great decor, plus a nice overall atmosphere. The staff have always been pleasant, and the food was delicious. Good coffee as well.

Staff were lovely! However, the aesthetics of the shop could definitely be improved, especially carrying out the theme of rustic industrial background a lot more throughout the store as this cafe only had one good corner that displayed that theme. We had the Angus and fried chicken burger that were nice, but the actual meat lacked flavour. We ended up asking for extra aioli which completely the flavour profile for those burgers. But otherwise the chips were delicious and so was the coffee!

Great coffee at this place! Even got some awesome milk patterns! Service is friendly and quick. Reasonably priced and the recent makeovers off the restaurant are really nice. Wonderful atmosphere and a good menu with a range of items for everyone.

We visited late in the afternoon after the kitchen had closed which we were ok with as we had just finished lunch and were looking for some coffee. It wasn't clear if there was table service, as we were only told the kitchen was closed. So we just ordered at the counter. Finding a seat was a little hard due to most of the tables being covered in dishes from other customers. It looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. We found a cute couch at the back. Someone quickly came over and cleared the takeaway cups that were left behind.

The coffee came quickly. It was well made and paired really nicely with the brownie that we all got.

The coffee and dessert were great, it was mostly let down but the lack of cleanliness and no sign-in sheet for dine-in customers for covid tracing.

They took half an hour just for half a portion of chicken. Why takes so long when other restaurants can do in 10 mins? This is the second time we experienced this super slow service. Not going back.

A very poor experience. From arrival, we felt a bit lost - not greeted, could not find a menu, dirty tables. Eventually I had to interupt staff to clean the dirty tables so that we could sit down, then had to ask for menus. The coffee cups absorb the heat so are hot to hold. Poor design. I ordered the Black Benny - an eggs Benedict with truffle. Despite being someone who really enjoys truffle flavour, this dish was terrible. The sauce was not enjoyable at all. It did not resemble a hollandaise at all and it overpowered the other elements on the plate. It was like squid ink.
The salmon dish was much better and good serving size for ghr price.
Unfortunately, the two dishes came out almost 10 minutes separate from each other.

This cafe must have been understaffed on this day. The two waiters looked frantic and like they didnt know what to do next. There were dirty tables with birds picking at the left overs, about 5 people waiting at the cashier which took us over 5 minutes waiting to pay, no apology for the delay. The staff did not prioritise correctly.

All food was perfect! I really loved it!

This cafe was one of the few that were opened on New years day in my area so I was grateful for that. Yet, however, it was a fairly hot and humid morning and unfortunately there was no fan or aircon within the cafe. Also lots of empty dishes left on tables needed cleaning up.
In terms of food, the omlette dish was huge as seen in the picture. Would recommend sharing this. Also needed to have more toast to finish it up. Salmon dish portion was quite small too.
It was 7:30 in the morning and I was going to work when I decided to buy a coffee and a Ham and Cheese croissant and take them away.
I stepped in and ordered a Ham and Cheese Croissant to the gentle man who was behind the counter. Then asked him a flat white coffee. The gentle man asked me if I take them away or have them there, I I said " take them away". The gentle man said " OK, sit down there ' and obeyed. After a while the other gentle man brought me a small coffee in a cup. I asked him to change it as I asked for a take away large flat while and the gentle man did it, so I have to say thanks.
I was waiting there for about 15 minutes for my Ham and Cheese Croissant, but nothing has happened until I walked to the counter, then the first gentle man asked the other one about the Ham and Cheese Croissant and from his action, I found that he totally forget it. He went to the kitchen quickly and after two minutes gave me a paper bag. I paid and left the shop. In the midway to work, I took the Croissant and without looking just took a mouthful and feel a Cold cheese and a Fresh Bacon in my Croissant.
I through them away and enjoyed my flat white. At the end of the story I have some comments:
1. Please listen to the customers, it doesn't matter whether they are your every day customers or new ones, the most important thing is their request and not what you think is their order.
2. Its highly expected that the staff of a high rated restaurant know about the differences between Ham and Bacon. With all respect, I ask you just google it. It's probably helpful.
Happy new year.

Fantastic place to eat. Been here twice now and loved it both times. Completely different menu the second time because they'd been trying to simplify and improve it, but to be honest there was nothing wrong with the first one :) The food is yum and the service excellent. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this for dinner or lunch. Haven't tried brekkie yet, but if it's half as good as dinner, should be fine. Also love the coffee and the Long Island ice teas. 👍
