Review Jagos On Miller - North Sydney

I have stumbled across this local cafe for lunch. It has a nice ambience and it gets busy during 1pm. I was recommended by friendly staff to get the Morrocan Lamb Salad. It was packed full of flavour. A exquisite dish that reminds me of a home-made European meal. I probably go back there when I have the chance.

I was a bit disappointed with my Smoked Salmon Bruschetta with no salmon. After I've dissected my beautiful dish to find salmon and there were none, i was given some on another plate. It just wasn't the same. No apology or compensation. Otherwise it was lovely breakfast.

****WARNING*** WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE JAGOS on MILLER IS!!! I have never written a review in my LIFE but after receiving a less than satisfying meal and horrible service from Jagos on Miller, I feel that I need to warn other locals/brunch-go'ers. I was completely underwhelmed with my breakfast, that I decided to speak to the manger (older man) behind the counter. I politely told him if I could offer some feedback on the meal. I said, for $15.50, the meal wasn't acceptable and that I was expecting more for the price I was paying (I even offered some advice - perhaps, a thicker piece of halloumi and bread if anything). His response absolutely shocked me. Instead of apologizing and taking some form of accountability, he blamed the chef and said it's not his problem. In disbelief, I said, "for $15.50, what do you think of this meal?" and in his exact words he said, "well, as the commercials say, why pay $15.00-$18.00 when you can make it at home." He then printed off the receipt and said, "That will be $35.50 please". Appalled in his response, I told him that I could have made this at home for $5.00 and he then said, "Well you're the first person to ever complain about a meal, so I am not sure what to tell you, but I'll let the chef know." I was absolutely gob-smacked! I left the cafe with my blood-boiling. He made me feel like I had no idea what I was talking about. As a North Sydney local, I find his response disgusting. It is so disappointing to have been treated in this manner and to not even receive an apology. The whole point of going to a cafe/restaurant is to have an "experience" and to pay for something that you can't make yourself. I warn others not to go here. You can make this food at your home for $4-$5! Horrible experience. I know a lot of people in this community and will be letting everyone know. Never again will I eat here or recommend this cafe to anyone.

Great food, great coffee and friendly staff. I do prefer to have eggs royale on an English muffin, but the food is still great.

Great little spot for brekky. The staff are always friendly and the food is delicious. It's lovely to sit outside in the courtyard on a sunny day.

Had a lovely family breakfast at Jagos on Sunday. Ari was amazing with the kids. Food was delicious. My egg + bacon roll was cooked exactly the way I like it. Hubby's Big breakfast was great too. Friendly service. Fabulous food. Great service.

Amazing food with superb customer service! We ordered corn fritters and buttermilk pancakes and it was just perfect. The lady voluntarily offered avocado when we didn’t order bacon in fritters. This shows that the lady genuinely wanted to provide great hospitality and make sure all the customers feel that they are not paying too much for too little. Will be back when we visit Sydney next time :)

Horrible service and was made to feel terrible for even attempting to sit down with my young daughter (who was not making a single sound)! Rude owner who showed delight in having succeeded to get us to leave without placing an order.
Clear and biased behaviour. Will never eat here again (and I had previously).

Nothing special but an easy go to if you're in the area. Particularly as this end of Miller Street is pretty quiet on the food front. Staff were nice enough albeit involved in conversation/laughing when I approached the counter which made me feel as if I was interrupting something.

I enjoyed the bruschetta although tomato needed to be diced into smaller pieces. The larger pieces to me looked like Chef couldn't be bothered. A very simple dish although very tasty.

Would I return? Not necessarily but if I was in the area I might grab something on the run.

This is my little secret place to go to in a small group for a weekday breakfast before work or quiet lunch away from the main hub. The service is always friendly and the guy who runs the restaurant has a great sense of humour!

Have tried the fruit toast with ricotta and honey - you might want to share, it is filling for one person... And lunch options have always been tasty: Moroccan lamb salad gets top points every time, the soup is always good and we always get a bowl of fries to share. Drink options include alcohol. Coffee isn't particularly the best but passable.

The courtyard seating is bright and beautiful and it is warm and toasty inside the restaurant on a chilly winter's day. Breakfast around $10-15/pp (if getting toast and coffee); Lunch around $30/pp.

Very very friendly service. I love going there to grab my morning coffee and being greeted with the staff's lovely smiles. Great coffee, great food and great prices.

Nestled in front of the Stanton Library is this nice little cafe, out door seating in a park style surround you cant go wrong.

Food was decent and coffee was good for what it was, they're not the best at what thy do but they're surely not bad either

Lovely friendly service and atmosphere. The Corn fritters were really good - great flavour and chilli mayonnaise a nice surprise. Very quick.

Away from the food courts. Always wondered who were the main clientele here as it's further up from Miller Street away from the main office buildings. Most people may only stop at the pub but up at this end are a few cafes. They have inside and outside seating. Had the garlic bread then had the toasted wrap with tandoori chicken and sweet potato served with salad. It was all passable food. $17.50 for the wrap isn't particularly cheap - again this place isn't for the quick order and run office crowd.

Outside is such a nice place to sit on a nice sunny day, food is delicious and the cakes always look so dang fancy and tasty.

Good breakfast menu, generous servings. Staff flustered but helpful.

Consistently good coffee and food. Jagos is great if you want to grab a quick coffee or if you feel like a leisurely lunch. I have always had very friendly and professional service. Lunch recommendation - fish cakes which are absolutely delicious!

Bizarre service. Very mixed service. After being seated by a lovely lady another member of staff arrived at our table and asked if we would like sparkling water or lemon and lime bitters. I said we would like some tap water and she strolled off in a huff. She later came out and slopped water into our glasses. Strange!

Service was lousy, waiting a longtime for menus and then to place the order. Meals arrived and one was missing two sides. Then waited 10 minutes for the sides by which time the meal was cold and other meals finished. Wasn't that busy - very disappointing.
