Review Billy Barry's Hotel - North Sydney

Most other places were closed in Monday night and Billy's was busy as. Staff were very friendly and helpful. You can't beat the price of their meals. The portions are a good size. You'd easily pay two to three times as much at a restaurant. We'll be back again before we head home

My favourite pub. The staff do a great job to have a relaxed vibe. So much character. Plenty of tv’s for sports fans. Two pool tables. Good prices on beer and food. Love the nachos! All round great place to hang with mates.

Billy Barry's is the North Sydney station pub. The interior decoration is very nice. I am a regular for the sirloin steak they offer for $13 if you buy a drink. This steak can compete with any fancy places steak. The new addition to their menu is lamb soulvaki. The lamb is really tender with a mild marinade. Really nice

Good venue: friendly staff, great quality, affordable pub food and extremely close to the public transport hub in North Sydney. Not sure what else you need in a pub... A lot of history behind this bar even if it's not immediately apparent.

Well priced food. Great ambience. Really friendly staff who were very accommodating to our last minute booking for a big group 🙌

Security guard and manger were very unreasonable. We tried to get in after a funeral supporting my best mate and we’re refused entry because the security guard said “I can do what I want”. Have been been going to this pub for years, it was a shocking experience and I am never coming back.

Nice pub! Spacious and cosy. Not too crowded. Just about the only place in North Sydney open on a Sunday. The food was delicious and good value for money .

Perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken schnitzel and chips. Mushroom sauce was creamy and very flavourful. Bar staff were very friendly and on the ball. This is my go to pub for good, cheap pub food with great portions.

Awesome venue. My wife and I recently got married (day time wedding) and we had our after party in the function area that night and we were so thankful for the wonderful service, excellent food and drink selections and easily catered for 100 guests. I will always recommend this venue to anyone looking for a fantastic place to have a private function or even just a few casual drinks in the bar area.

Great food! I had the $10 steak ( with a glass of Majella “Musician “ Cab Shiraz) - both wine & steak were great.

Nice pub with good atmosphere and tastefully fitted out. Great affordable menu. The beef and guinness pie was top notch.

Can't beat the $10 menu, always cooked well, definitely recommend the steak or calamari. Add to that decent TV's, a couple of pool tables and cold beer the only thing that could make it better would be if it were open air in summer.

We were going on a cruise and we found this place and the 4 of us couldn't fault one part of it. The surroundings just made you feel comfortable right away. And I would go there all the time if I lived close by. Well done to everyone who has anything to do with this place.

Great food. Awesome prices on drinks and food . Clean and tidy. Stopped in while walking around nth Syd on a Sunday evening with 2 small kids. Can't recommend it enough, very hospitable. Will be back when we stay here again. And almost opposite the station!!!

Had a 40th birthday party here and it was great. The bar staff, managers, Bree, everyone was so helpful and amazing. The function room is the perfect size, the food was amazing (all our guests commented on it) and the service was absolutely outstanding. Thanks Billy Barry's hotel and the wonderful people, you played a big part in making the evening memorable.

We hosted a client function at the hotel and the staff were brilliant.  The food was fantastic and no one was left waiting for drink.  A big thank you to everyone.  Best pub in North Sydney for sure

This must be the cheapest pub in the area and being across the road from the North Sydney train station makes it super convenient. There's pub meals from $10 (with any drink). The cheap prices aren't a once a week thing, they're everyday. For $12, I got the garlic prawn linguine which had lovely big prawns in it. The Guinness pie with mash and peas is a must try too, so good.

It was our second visit to Bill Barry's Hotel and again not disappointed we had the t/bone steak & sirloin steak cooked to perfection 2 glasses of whine & only  $42 dollars will definitely be gowing back

$10 steak!... when you buy a drink... you also have to pay for sauce... so depends on your drink choice, it could still be a steak meal for under $15. My medium rare sirloin was good, cooked just right, but probably wasn't rested before serving, given the busy lunch trade. The side salad was a little over dressed, but definitely much better then those who got "mash" as their side. It was the packet powdered type, and was not good at all. Other people in my lunch group with the non-steak meals were happy with their meals except for the confusion over quinoa or couscous salad, the staff can't seem to tell the difference! Overall, good cheap pub meal.

I went to Billy Barry's hotel to get some drinks for a BYO dinner I was going to and the security guy let me wait for 10 minutes while he was checking the bags of few backbackers; I was alone and I asked him if he can just let me in showing him my ID, and he told me that I had to wait, which was ok. After 10 minutes waiting he told me that I was too drunk and I wouldn't let me go inside. I asked him if he was joking or something, it was 7 pm in the evening and I was at work all day and getting ready to go out. <br/>I don't think I want to spend any time in a place where the standards for customer service are so miserable, worst place I've been in Sydney so far.

I've walked past Billy Barry's many times and never thought to walk up the stairs and actually check the place out, but I'm so glad I did! My colleague and I decided to go there after work and what a quirky place we discovered! Billy Barry's offers some of the best prices in North Sydney, with its drinks being cheaper than most other pubs. I hadn't planned on staying for dinner but after seeing the $10 dinner menu I decided to try the Schnitty and it really hit the spot! The staff are friendly and it has a great 'after work drinks' buzz... Would highly recommend for people looking for good value and a good environment to enjoy a drink in north Sydney. <br/>

Very nice food . Great food and what you should expect from any pub. Great service and we will be back. Cheap beers and drinks and great for a game of pool.

Interesting menu, I wasn't sure exactly what I was ordering but it sounded fun... Spicy Mexican nacho chicken schnitzel for $15 and I was well impressed yum. Really well cooked. The pub itself hasn't changed at all, previously named 'Station hotel'. It has more space then the other pubs in North Sydney and the only one I know still with pool tables.
