Review Rokojuni - North Sydney

got takeaway teriyaki tofu, it was served with rice and salad. service was quick, food was reasonably priced and it was so good! the rice and tofu was nice and fluffy. the onion was good and not to little, not too much amount-wise. i even found a piece of broccoli hiding underneath the tofu and it was amazing! it tasted so fresh and absorbed the teriyaki sauce so well. like, if they just did teriyaki broccoli on its own i’d buy it. it’s that good. the salad also tasted fresh and it was a nice break from the heat of the tofu and rice. however the sauce was a liiiiittle bit salty. would give 4.5 stars if i could, and i’ll definitely be coming back here to to try other dishes.

I ordered chicken karage ramen with pork flavour. When the ramen comes out, no bad big portion for 15.9 and service is quicker. Not like Westfield cbd ramen costed me 25 bucks and it is small portion and slow delivery. The broth is ok not the best ramen i ever had. Karage chicken probably only 3 portions maybe? I wish they give us more. Anyway not bad lunch for 15.9 around north sydney. makesure you dont get covid for eating there 😁😂😂

I love coming here, because the girl always knows what I want to order, and I don't work in the area every day either. Great come-back-soon service ! Highly recommended fresh food !

Always amazing fresh food. I came here tonight with my Gym friend and have been coming here for about 2yrs, this place I swear has the best pork dumplings (gyoza) in Sydney! I always order the same dish chicken katsu with ponzu sauce not the katsu sauce and also prawn tempura and always without fail it tastes amazing! My friend has tried a few other dishes, the ramen and I think one was a crab salad, mentioned they tasted amazing too. We come here weekly now after the gym, the owner Ellie is also super nice and always remembers my order.

Ate here twice, once for Salmon Sashimi Salad and another for Bulgogi Ramen and they were not bad. I'm slightly surprised that the store actually has a bit of Korean fusion, and sells Bibimbap among other Korean dishes. Though there's nothing super outstanding about the store, the extra options are nice, and the taste is decent. Would go back from time to time.

Always loved this place. It’s very close to eating in Japan. Great fresh clean food with excellent friendly service.

Decent portions of Udon with nice fitout and friendly staff. The quality was decent enough and this place gets quite busy during the lunch rush. The gyoza was just fried instead of being steamed them pan fried which was odd.

Cheap and delicious sushi with a great deal after 5pm all sushi half price. Definitely recommend to anybody who is around the area

Great service and the entres are quite tasty especially the prawn tempura. I reduced the rating as twice I've been this month and I didn't enjoy either main due to the dishes having too much sauce for the ebi don and terriyaki chicken.

They have a variety of sushi boxes during lunchtime. Mine cost $10 and it was delicious. They have a restaurant at the back which was packed.
I would come again to try other Japanese dishes!

Cozy place in the heart of North Sydney. Great menu and Stoke pot Bambibab was fantastic with Tempura Prawns were fresh. Quick service with caring crew.

The rush hour in North Sydney for lunch is always crazy, so I think it's pretty impressive how quickly Rokujuni delivers their food. It's nothing special - I've certainly had much better Japanese elsewhere, but here in North Sydney where your lunch break is only an hour, speed and price is definitely foremost.
$11-15 for a filling portion of lunch at the speed which they deliver it is very good.

Come here for quick service, good portion for what you pay, and if you're just hankering for Japanese food you can't find elsewhere.

Rokujuni has very fresh ingredients. We go for an early dinner (closes 8pm) and enjoy the salmon sashmini advocado salad and the bento box with the spicy katsu chicken.
Very reasonable and wait staff Ellie is very charming.
The restaurant is a little dark and could do with some brightness. Red candles! Bright wall hangings please.

I popped in before they opened at 12pm for lunch service, the girl agreed to serve me anyway. The chicken sushi rolls were not ready yet and the only ones they could offer were salmon and tuna. Both are of decent sizes and large chunks of salmon are visible. The tuna roll is in purple rice and the balance between the fish an avocado is good. For a takeaway sushi rolls they are reasonably priced at $3.50 each for a good portion.

Really average food... the reason I go to this place is because the food spots across the road shut down because of the new train line. The service is good and the restaurant is clean

Despite the tempting spread of self service sushi at the window, I really wanted an udon soup so opted for a sit down lunch instead. It was busy for lunch time, but it was still early & I got a table straight away. Ordered the seafood udon, food took a while to arrive. Udon Soup was ok, but at $14.90 wasn't particularly generous with the seafood. There are probably better value lunch options around.

Self-service sushi, but not on a train, in a window!
You just grab a container, take some tongs and get picking.
Was a little sceptical, but it was actually quite good. Some really unique choices and they all tasted quite good. Obviously would have been a lot better if freshly made, but the flavours were great and makes me want to go back for al la carte someday.

Good sushi. Really like this little Japanese oasis in the middle of hectic North Sydney. Used to get my lunchbox from here almost daily (yes, never too much Japanese food hahaa). I had mainly sushi but other stuff looked good too. Friendly happy girls at counter.

The service is efficient and friendly. Takeaway options for fast sushi. I like the bibimbap! Would love to have the time to eat in one day. Service will have you coming back for easy lunch.

For a quick work lunch, we walked up the street to Rokujuni for some sushi and general Japanese. Rokujuni had been recommended to us by a number of our colleagues so we were quite excited to see what it would be like! Given the number of options provided by the menu, we were initially unsure about what to order. In the end, we settled on the chicken teriyaki buns, the salmon and avocado salad, and the sushi main meal. The chicken teriyaki buns came first – this was a delicious fusion of a ‘burger-style’ concept with pure white buns and chicken teriyaki as the ‘patty’. This was served hot and the flavours were very full and honestly quite amazing. We would order this again!

Conveniently located next door to work,
This has certainly become a regular place for a delicious Japanese lunch and catch up with friends. The teriyaki salmon bimbimbap with brown rice in a stone pot if the bomb. Make sure you try it.

Dinner in North Sydney on a weeknight. Not exactly a thriving hub at night. Rokujuni does open till 8pm - it's normally very pretty busy at lunchtime as it has a front sushi section and then seats for the food menu. Was only one other dude there but two more came in later. For some strange reason they wouldn't do steamed pork gyoza tonight, only fried - so passed and had the takoyaki (usual frozen kind) and the karaage which had a sauce with a mild bite to it which was a nice surprise. Had the chasu (their spelling) ramen - it had naruto and menma but on the whole - meh. The ramen was quite firm and the miso soup stock was fairly average. It's North Sydney prices so not a cheap dinner.

They have a whole section for bibimbab in the menu and bulgogi is a main - you can take a guess as to where the chefs are from.
