Review Jane Eyre North Sydney - North Sydney

BitterBliss
Coffee: Mecca (Darkhorse Blend) Passion: 9/10 Crema: 9/10 I really didn’t need another coffee per se… but as I was getting ready to leave North Sydney I spotted a Mecca sign and had to investigate. The quirky bike out the front had me anticipating a good experience and I was not disappointed. As with most cafes I go to now I often start by finding out if they have any single origin coffee on hand. In this case the barista instantly told me that the Kenyan Tegu AA was what they had going. Another good sign. The coffee was well espressed and had a thick crema covering the tarty fruitiness of the Tegu. It was warm and had a clean finish, perfect as an espresso. Loved having a chat with the staff here, who are obviously mad about coffee, and are now fighting a battle of hearts and minds with the North Sydney crowd of people addicted to strong burnt rubber coffee. That they have switched to Mecca is the first step, and apparently batch coffee and cold drip coffee might not be far away. N.B. No #powerwhoring is available No public WiFi is available

Great little cafe for a Saturday coffee.

Great coffee but would love it (and come more regularly) if you could purchase via an app like Hey You/Beat The Q

Great coffee, fantastic toasted banana bread (with sliced bananas!), and really friendly staff. I'll stop by for coffee again tomorrow.

Simply judging by the venue name, I wasn't sure it was a cafe or bookstore. The Friday happy hour coffee sign on the pavement solved the riddle and I ordered my first cup of coffee from Jane Eyre! The shop is tiny but very cute. It's amazing the lovely ambience they are able to create with such a confined space. It feels like a scene out of Jane Eyre's book!

With fierce competitions surrounded it, Jane Eyre seems still get some foot traffic despite the location obscured by the next door construction site. Coffee is not bad if not better than opposite Bacino. It's only $2 for regular size on Fridays. Bargain and tastes good too!

My number one place for breaky when I worked at North Sydney. I usually order either the "Ham & Cheese Tasty" or the "Eggs & Bacon with Barbecue sauce on Turkish Bread" on the go. Both are amazing! The staff are always friendly as well. Would remember you if you're a regular.

Counter to what another reviewer said, the Poached Eggs on Sourdough and the Chicken & Avocado Melt are very tasty! Very friendly and personable customer service. Will likely remember your order if you are a regular. Reasonably price for the area. Recommended to give it a try.

The usually frantic Mount Street is very quiet on the weekend and this is a nice little café to have breakfast or coffee. Most of the seating is outdoors, so wrap up if you're planning to have a sit down meal in Winter. The big breakfast is big and quite good value. The salads are fresh. The service is friendly. Pro tip - ask for your coffee to be served extra hot, they tend to serve it 'drinking straight away' temperature. (I like my coffee the same temperature as nuclear reactor coolant so maybe normal people wouldn't need to bother).

Nice little cafe for a workday breakfast and coffee.
Brunch On Joy
Stepping into this quaint little cafe, there's a cabinet full of delicious cakes and baked goodies to entice and cosy nooks to hide away in. With limited seating inside there is also outdoor seating. The breakfast menu combines spanish and italian cuisine providing meaty and veggie options. I've been lucky enough to snap a few of these options. If you are up for a good feed, the Jane Eyre big breakfast is the way to go. It's simply a mountain of bacon, chorizo, tomato, mushrooms, eggs your own way and haloumi.

Ladies and gentlemen, Jane Eyre Cafe is probably the best cafe in North Sydney.

I heard a lot about this place so we dropped in for some all day breakfast and coffee. The coffee was good but the eggs with toast and the melts we ordered were very sub par. Service was also lacking even though there were only 3 other tables.

Friendly. A small place in the Mount Street mall. Has a handful of tables inside but mostly seating outside. Except for homemade baked treats, everything has to be ordered and there are quite a number of options on the menu - basically all day breakfast and sandwiches/melts. Although tempted by the Pete Special which has been in this area for a couple of years, had the Jane Eyre big breakfast. Nothing world beating but a good fryup although a little greasy. Best aspect is the friendly nature of the Asian staff.

The Mecca of North Sydney. Coffee is from the famous Mecca cafe in the city. One of the smoothest drops in the city having visited many coffee establishments over the years. If you like a consistently smooth coffee served by the samurai barista over at Jane Eyre then I recommend it. The food is excellent as well as the staff who deliver it. Whenever in North Sydney this is my go-to cafe.
Lovely Spaghetti
