Busy Friday lunch hour for the North Sydney business crowd. We ordered the esarne pork ribs, tom yum goong and a lunch special of beef and rice dish. The food was tasty, price is OK but the service could definitely be better. Our young waitress was obviously didn't want to be there and I tried calling her a few times and she never even looked up and endes up her colleagues attended to us. The menu reminds of the staples of street style Thai food from Chat Thai. Hoping the service will be better next time!

We went for lunch and even though it was super busy everything moved fast and was very efficient. We had fried chicken wings and satay chicken for an entree which tasted great, very fresh - while the chicken fried rice main courses were also very good and done properly

This restaurant is by the entrance to the Greenwood Plaza, which is opposite to the train station and has tables directly facing the street in between. If you decide to sit there to enjoy the view be warned that sometimes there are smokers standing nearby. I had the Crying Tiger, E-Sarn Ribs, tumeric rice and the Lyn Chee Mojito in that order. The Crying Tiger ($19) is spicy dish with tender pieces of wagyu beef, which are sizzled in such a way as to melt when inside my mouth. Needless to say I swallowed one after another very easily. The Crying Tiger is paired with some stir fried greens, dressed in a light tamarind sauce, which escaped me now as I was too involved with tasting and savouring the chared outside of the wagyu but still juicy on the inside. Yum! For the E-Sarn Ribs ($14) I had to put away the cutlery because these sticky pork ribs were meant to be eaten with fingers. I found the ribs to be somewhat fatty, an indication that maybe they were not cooked long enough to render the fat. Having said that, the accompanied salad also dressed in tamarind sauce did the job in cutting through the fatty taste as did the dried chillies. They were really tasty and I wasn't afraid to get my fingers let alone my mouth covered in a dry rub cum tamarind glazing get in the way of a finger-licking-good time. I enjoyed the Tumeric Rice ($4) with these two dishes. But as I dug into them beads of sweat started to form on my forehead. The dried chillies were started to have an effect on my taste buds. It was time to quench it all with the Lyn Chee Mojito ($8), an iced and fancy lime drink served with pieces of lime and canned lychees.

Great for the busy lunches in the city where you need yummy food and quick service. Generous selection of dishes from street style to ‘a la carte’. Expect queuing during lunch time due to high demand. Highly recommended

Always busy during lunch but they have quick service and helping staff! I guess they dont book a table it's walk&in kind. Great food!

Very happy with my breakfast this morning. The omelette came with heaps of toppings and 2 nice slices of crusty bread with lots of butter on the side. Coffee is pretty good too.

Price's are mediocre and food is quite good. Would come here agian to try the other dishes. Love the contrasting colors and decor of the store. Really makes the store pop

What I love about this taste baguette, they served good food, delicate afternoon snack and wonderful coffee.
Coffee is powered by Campos, name for good quality coffee.
Piccolo was $3, and it has a good smooth finished and a little acidity after taste.
Conveniently located in the lower food area with lots of human traffic, this place sure gets busy. Campos coffee is decent, bahn mi /sandwiches are ok. I ordered the portuguese chicken which was a little dry and needed more sauce. Also on the small side with not much filling. Staff are very brash so if you want friendly, a smile or patience then maybe not the place for you.

Taste Baguette is conveniently located in Greenwood Plaza, on the walk path to my office in North Sydney. They sell mini pastries for breakfast which is right up my alley (variety!) I had the croissant and chocolate croissant, might be too little to be satisfying. Coffee from Campos.

I have had my morning coffee from Taste for a couple of years now so I think it might be time for a review. Taste is one of two places that use Campos coffee in North Sydney but it's a given that for coffee to sing it takes more than just using the right bean. I think it's about relationships, not only are the staff super friendly but the baristas have always been ok about me giving feedback on how I like my coffee. Ristretto in a ceramic cup. Delightful.

Taste Baguette is another option to pick up some breakfast on the way to work. They sell mini pastries which were perfect as breakfast snacks! Coffee is from Campos

On a hump day morning when all you wanted was a cup of good coffee and some nibbles to kick start the day, it couldn't be more disappointing when the coffee turned out to be weak and too milk and your raisin toast was stale. The toast was all doughy and sticky to the teeth in the middle. The staff didn't strike very nice or helpful either. My toast was ready first and sitting by the cashier; when my name was called for the coffee, I asked the coffee man if he could pass me the toast as the girls had their back turned and busy with something. He told me the food was over in a seperate section and he was only doing coffee. Bear in mind, the toast was within his arm's reach literally right next to him.

Weak coffee, soggy toast, and stinky attitude, hence the below average score.

One of my colleague get his lunch here EVERYDAY, given so many many different options in North Sydney I had got to try it to see why! There was a bit of a queue, but the staffs are very efficient so you get your food in just a short wait (slight bit longer if you want it heated). Aside from the rolls, they have a huge range of salads & pastas, and a pad si ew option too! I got a medium size salad (3 choices for $9.90). Thai beef, haloumi & avocado, and the chicken pad si ew. They layer the round container, so you're literally eating through the different layers to get to the bottom. All of the options I got tasted great, and with so much variety to choose from it's really is something you can have for lunch everyday.

Nice, quick, tasty breakfast here this morning. They do a chorizo and egg wrap with peri peri sauce which is just great, and smartly wrapped in foil so it stayed warm on my way to the office. The coffee was really good as well.
Service was as it should be in the morning, very efficient - both items were ready within 5 minutes and I was on my way.

This place is sooo good 😁😁 They have a very good selection of desserts such as their watermelon cake. You must also try their baguette sandwiches which are very fresh and flavourful.

A very good option for normal lunch take awya, healthy, tasty and reasonable price.
They sell soup as well, with a slice of bread, which is a nice light lunch when I want to lost weight.

Service is so slow here. We decided to use Beat the Q to hurry it up and when we arrived people who had ordered after us in the actual line were all receiving their orders before us. Useless.

Editing my review because I made the mistake of trying this place again... I ordered in person this time and they truly have the worst and rudest staff ever.

No way. $4.20 for a small soy flat white, with enough foam for a cap and chunks to boot... Not impressed at all :(

Pork Belly Roll This was a satisfying grab-and-go lunch. Normally we focus too much on the protein and forget the carb/base of the dish. At Taste Baguette, they focus on bread and that's 75% of what makes a great roll. The pork filling was delicious too, I do like crispy foods a lot. Crispy pork crackling in crispy baguette is just a great combo for me. It just means that every element was fresh and assembled with care. Additional plus is the take-away paper packet is foil coated to prevent any sauce or oilyness to make a mess on your hand or clothes. Conclusion At $10.50 a roll, it's not cheap, but if it is executed like that every time, it is yummy. P.S: "word on the street" is that all branches are not equal. So consult Urbanspoon for a range of ratings. ★★★★/ 5 Would I go again? Yes.

Despite their poor customer service, fortunately the food and coffee made up for the bad experience. My flat white (which I ended up getting Julie-Ann to include in her order) and baguette was pretty good. The Vietnamese Style Lemongrass Chicken I had was one of their signature baguettes - grilled chicken marinated in lemongrass, coral lettuce, tomato and rocket filled the wholemeal baguette (you get a choice of plain or wholemeal baguette). I love how the wholemeal baguette was nicely crusted on the outside but still soft on the inside - the cafe bakes baguettes fresh on site every 15 minutes during lunchtime and I believe this is the reason why they do so well selling their baguette sandwiches. Nothing beats freshly baked bread!

Delicious baguettes!. But would it kill you to pack the salads into the baguette sandwich for once? It's one second of effort to stop the salads from falling out the top every time I take a bite. Apart from that everything is super fresh and tastes great.

Delicious and fresh! The bread rolls are so fresh, and all the ingredients are fresh too. Also good are the sausage rolls and cakes. They use Campos coffee which is the best. Nice friendly speedy service. Can't wait for my next taste baguette.

Service terrible. Tonnes of Asian girls with dead eyes and no interest in what they're going. Not a big change from the rude baristas who I have previously encountered - hipsters who thought they were God's gift to women - looks like they're gone, good riddance. Pasta salad microwaved within an inch of its life - she was going to to the same with the roll but I saved it from that fate.

Lots of better options all round here especially with Bourke St Bakery opening up soon.

Campos coffee is delish! Haven't tried anything else yet. Service is quick and friendly for me :)

Best Coffee Hands Down.. I come here twice a day, day in, day out. The guys are really genuinely approachable and down to earth. The little asian girls are just so cute and friendly too. the coffee is always perfect, and the baguettes at lunch are just beautiful. P.S: It's true. They have the cutest barista in Sydney. Actually, two of them!!!
Sandra
