Review Wokky Chans - North Sydney

Helen Di Domenico
I work in North Sydney and have given this place a fair amount of chance to impress me. The food is overpriced for the quality received. The sweet and sour pork (my fave) was pretty disappointing - not enough meat, too much onion and pineapple. I've had their stir fried noodles and while I know they are fried, they don't need to be super greasy and flavourless like these were!

Wokky chan is changing name as noodle chef king. See attached pic, 13 bucks for bbq pork and wonton. Cheap? If yes compared to Greenwood? Taste? Average , soup is more flavour maybe MSG inside? Quantity? It is ok, make me full Service? Ok Am i going to hospital or sick after eating? Time will tell. Not like other previously reviewers .

Ordered their two choices for 13.90 with noodles, one choice available at 12.90. First choice was steamed fish and second spicy crispy chicken. Both were disappointing. Though i would rate crispy chicken slightly higher.Food was cold not even warm enough to be consumed and that's surprising because i visited around 11.30 am just when its about to get busy. generous quantity , but then again who would want to eat cold food. May be their made to order food bowls are better, will have to try. Definitely not going for here for two choices meal. Simply noodles are on the same floor, are not the best but definitely is a better option.

Alright for food court Chinese food... think equivalent of Westfield or suburban shopping centre food court... A Good size for hungry people

I ordered a chicken satay through the app mealpal in this restaurant, and the chicken was not cooked enough it was pink. It hard to see at the beginning because there is sauce on it but the meat wasn't cooked properly. I wouldn't recommend it's dangerous

Ordered Wonton noodle soup, it was better than I expected & fast service, people writing reviews need to understand this isn't a proper restaurant its a fast food joint in a food court! LOVE THAT THIS IS NO A MSG FOOD JOINT! :) Overall great taste and good service.

The person serving me asked if I wanted take away or eat in. I said takeaway and she turned to put in my order. Then she turned around again and asked me if I wanted takeaway or eat in. I told her takeaway. She turned to put in my order, then paused, then turned back and asked me again if I wanted eat in or takeaway. I told her one last time. Then she took my money and then took another order without giving me change, so I had to ask for my change back. After all that, Wokky Chans pad thai was a thick tomato soup with soggy noodle and too much sugar. I couldn't bear to eat more than 3 spoons. I'm starving but I'd rather go hungry than eat that waste of a perfectly good takeaway bowl.

Truly awful. Fried rice was dry and tasted like it was leftover from yesterday. The squid was greasy and tough and the stir fried verges were overcooked. Only giving one star as there is no option to give half a star.

The first time i tried here, i told myself there were better. Ive given it another chance as the other chinese food store has closed down, tried the laksa and i must say, i regret it. Food was quick to come out though, but not the greatest laksa ive had.
Have been doing training in North Sydney the past couple of days and have been wandering around the food court at lunch.
Felt like something hot and filling today because it was cold and raining.
Decided to try Wokky Chan's but unfortunately, the food was quite disappointing.
The salt and pepper squid was inert over cooked. It was hard, chewy and cold.
The fried rice wasn't bad but definitely wasn't worth the price.
This meal was $12.95 and didn't seem like a quality or substantial meal.
Service wasn't bad but probably won't go back ever again.

With To's & May's both shutdown from the redevelopment in North Sydney, where am I gonna go for a good laksa. Answer is definitely not Wokky Chans! Gave them a go as you can choose your pick of toppings & noodles. It probably didn't matter what you end up putting in there, the soup was so heavy duty, whatever natural taste of the toppings you have would've been drowned in there. It was intense salty, sweet & spicy. It made for a thirsty eat. The service was also a bit average, the staff looked & acted like they didn't really want to be there, and not particularly helpful. Stick with Simply noodles next time.

Located in the Greenwood Plaza food court. I come here every so often when I'm in need of a quick lunch fix, and they do a decent stir fry Eggplant. Their food is very oily however, but what you'd expect from a fast food style Asian place in a food court. Lots of choices which is good, and they also do orders on the spot for retain dishes. Cheap choice for Chinese food if you're in the food court.
