Review Vinorium - Northcote

Despite some mixed reviews we still wanted to give it a go. Unfortunately, i can't recommend it and lucky for us we booked via the fork's 50% offer. Service: the person that seated us was bubbly & friendly, can't say the same for our waiter for the night. Couldn't get a smile and he seemed stressed but we he was trying. Food: After ordering the antipasto and some cheese he told us we ordered a lot of food. As you can see from the pics it was just a lot of bread and a large chopping board. Wait time was over an hour for these (by 9.30pm you're pretty much starving). Honestly don't know why it took so long when it's really only the bread that needed cooking? TIP: order your drinks when your food comes. Or expect to finish a bottle by the time food gets served. Steaks were nothing special. I've had stone grill before and love the idea that i have control on how my steak is cooked. BUT for the $50 price range I would expect a good quality meat that's been seasoned and prepared properly. You shouldn't even need their $4 sauce to make it better! Potatoes weren't anything to die for either. Our side of rocket salad also came out late. Sorry guys, would have loved to come back but even the 50% off wouldn't make it worth it :(

Great wine, beer and food. Calamari and dips are great. Good icecream. Pizza can be a bit uncooked and too much cheese .

Love love love this place. The staff are fantastically welcoming and helpful. As soon as you arrive you are greeted with a smile. And, it's one of the few nice venues in the area where younger children are welcomed! The food is really delicious and authentic Italian. The wine selection is incredible too. This has become my new weekly pizza parlour as it is consistently fabulous. They have great specials too, which means there is always an incentive to try something new.

What a brilliant night out. The staff, James in particular was very knowledgeable about the wines and food to match. The red wine we had was smooth & delicate so didn't overpower the food, which was delicious, fresh and plentiful. My friends and I are all raving about our experience and we'll all be back again, either as a group (9 of us tonight) &/or with our families. Thanks so much for a wonderful dining experience.

The pizza was the best gluten free that I have eaten. Menu had steaks cooked on a Stone Grill, salmon and vegetarian options. The panacotta was divine. Wine list is extensive and many available by the glass. The decor is warm and inviting. The waiter, Alfie, was absolutely delightful. We'd return just to chat with him. I'd recommend for a quote quiet drink with friends or a romantic dinner for two.

Very nice venue, elegant and well thought out. The wine garden at the back is a little gem where you can actually have a nice Cigar! But the best part of my stay was the food! Meatballs, calamari, arancini, pizza, you name it! Extremely good Italian food guys, if you haven’t been here yet YOU ARE MISSING OUT

Great cabonara pasta dish we had, its very authentic, could tell it was cooked by an experienced Italian chef. Will definitely recommend to all of our friends. Drinks were so affordable as well, with the best variety of wines we've seen in Melbourne. Atmosphere is nice and relaxed, nice decor and friendly family staff who obviously enjoy being a part of the restaurant scene. We will be back. Comments from 2 happy dinners and wino's.
