Food was okay but nothing amazing. We sat inside (group of 4) and found it was lacking any type of atmosphere
Ordered the “Açai and homemade granola smoothie bowl” + “The Hub 3070 Big Breakfast” and loved them!!! I would honestly come back and more often if this place wasn’t so far away from me. The smoothie bowl was delicious- would love to try it as a drink! Definitely a recommend
4.5. One of the better brunch places in Melbourne. Friendly service and nice indoors area with a small kids play section in the back. The meals are very creative and all delicious. I had one of the best benny’s, no small feat since I usually order this dish at every brunch restaurant. it was flavourful and the poached pear was a surprised addition but worked wonderfully well to complement the dish. The pork was perfectly cooked. Sweet potatoes are a cool substitute for the usual sourdough bread but much easier to cut and didn’t leave me feeling too carb-full. Poached eggs were perfectly runny. Even though I’m not normally a fan of rocket, it was well marinaded here and I had no complaints. My partner ordered the potato hashstack which I’m told was also great. Highly recommended.
My wife and I both decided to choose from the specials menu and it did not disappoint! They should have this meal on the standard menu. We got the zucchini and corn fritters with halloumi, avocado mousse, chipotle mayo, poached egg, micro herbs, cherry tomatoes and shaved pecorino. The flavours all worked so well together and it was a decent serving. We were both really full by the end of it. The coffee was spot on as well. The service was great too. We'll definitely go back.
Have visited a couple times now and have always left happy! The coffee is wonderful and food delicious (Pictured smashed avo on brioche slider). There is enough vegan options to satisfy here! I love the ambience and vibes which are backed up by friendly staff. Value for money. I'll be back again and again.
Located away from the bustling main strip of Northcote, The Hub 3070 provides a relaxing spot for those wanting to brunch without the ruckus. Staffs are friendly and down-to-earth, imparting a sense of community to the overall unpretentious vibe.
The Brioche French Toast was a stellar of a dish. Absolutely loaded with Nutella and fresh strawberries, the lightly friend toast boasted a crisped exterior yet retaining a soft fluffy texture. Sweet tooth will be delighted with this creation. Another sweet dish, albeit one that was healthier and much lighter, was the Acai Smoothie Bowl. Smooth acai, topped with bananas, strawberries and crunchy granola and coconut flakes, this was truly enjoyable to eat.
For Zomato Gold members, there’s great savings to be had here with buy one get one free with food. Delicious food and great value – what’s not to like!
It’s a place with a unique take on menu different from a lot of other brunch places. The chef clearly puts a lot of attention to detail and the flavors are well balanced and complimentary within each other. One of the best places I have been for a while. Easy going vibe and prompt service. What an enjoyable experience!
Absolutely amazing - wouldn't have known of this place if not for EatClub. Received 55% off the total bill.
Ordered:
1. Cappuccino [Small] ($3.8) ☕️
2. The Hub Big Breakfast ($21) 🥞 🍳
3. Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger ($19) 🍔
4. Chilli Scramble / Mushroom ($16.5) 🥐
5. Ginger Ninja ($6)
Total damage was $29.83 for 3 ppl, extremely worth. 101% would come back, the food was amazing.
I like this place! They serve great smoothies and coffee but I reckon it’s slightly overrated and might be misleading! I certainly didn’t have a negative experience and will visit again
coffees were good. For food we ordered the chilli scrambled eggs and big vegie breakfast. The eggs were well prepared with a crispy and fluffy corssaint. The vegie breakfast had generous servings with good ingredients and well prepared. We felt it was lacking a sauce of some kind to bring it all together, but thats just splitting hairs though. Resonably priced. Overall a good experience.
Best cafe in the northern suburbs!! I LOVE coming here. I choose the hub to do work on my laptop, to take my 3 year old niece, to catch up with my friends or just to get a quick coffee! I've tried so many dishes on the menu and they've all been GREAT! If I had to pick 2- I'd recommend the nutella french toast and the eggs benedict. There's plenty of seating, it doesn't get too busy, staff are friendly, service is prompt and there's even a small kids play area- making it the perfect cafe for any occasion!
Delicious Delicacies, Slow Service. HATE: We walked in mid-day around 1 pm and the place was not packed yet we waited for 40mins for 2 x dishes to be served, it is the longest we have waited in any cafe so far. LOVE: We ordered the Potato Hashstack and the Smashed Avo. Couldn't fault any of it and it was absolutely delicious. The Smashed Avo is served with sliders so if you are hungry it will probably not be enough. We also ordered the Brioche Nutella French Toast and it was soul-satisfying.
The mushroom omelette was sooo tasty. Well cooked, well garnished and soo flavoursome. Added a side of bacon which was also well cooked. My partner got a potato rosti on the side which he also said was excellent. Highly recommend!
Food and coffee was very good! Generous portions and delicious meals. Nice cafe ambience. But what makes this place fabulous was the service! Extremely attentive and genuine wait staff and manager! Definitely would come back more !!!
Hands down our favourite cafe to frequent on a Saturday afternoon! The service is 10/10 and George always makes us feel incredibly welcome. Food is consistently amazing and always a generous portion.
Dishes ordered:
Pork Belly Benny - the fatty and crispy pork belly is partnered with a crispy salad that was well-dressed and fresh.
Hash your way - we opted for the bacon option. A generous portion and one of our favourites! A well thought out dish with a variety of flavours and textures.
Chilli Scrambled Eggs - this was also a highlight. The croissant was perfectly flaky and buttery. The fried shallot added a lovely balance of texture to the fluffy egg.
Poke bowl with salmon - a healthy option for a light lunch. Fresh flavours and as all the other dishes, a well-thought out variety of textures.
Chocolate waffle special - the waffles were crispy on the outside and light on the inside. Loved it as they weren’t too sweet. The brownie bits were super fudgy and the berries cut through the sweetness of the ice cream and was a nice touch of freshness to a well-balanced sweet dish. Would also recommend the brioche French toast as we ordered this last time and it was also impressive!
Would come back just for the almond lattes and George’s service!!!
Saw they were part of the Zomato Gold platform and in Northcote, so no brainer for a catch up brunch with a friend.
Big area with ample seating and comfortable spacing between other people. We were seated quickly (got the last free table).
We ordered our usual coffees and got chatting. The menu was simple but full of favourites, we ordered an extra sweet dish for the end cause Zomato Gold😜
I ordered the chilli scrambled with bacon of course, came with a croissant and had some kick to it🤤
Also the Brioche French Toast to share, that looked amazing and was delicious!
Food: great cafe food with fresh ingredients and well made coffee.
Service: great attentive staff and was never rushed to order anything or asked to leave, since we stayed there for a while chatting away.
Price: average prices, but with Zomato Gold, really can't complain👌
Overall: 4.5/5☺️
Such a great brunch spot! Delicious menu where everyone’s favourite brunch dishes are covered and come with an innovative flavour twist. We will definitely be back!
Really delicious food and friendly service right near Dennis station. Ordered the Potato Stack and was a great portion size with generous servings of bacon.
We were both pretty full (partner ordered the Nutella Pancakes).
Prices are really fair too - our mains were under $20. Great to see a breakfast place keeping things realistic in this regards.
Coffee was nice as well.
Not overly busy on a Saturday morning was a bonus too.
The back of the cafe looks a bit like it’s under renovation so we chose to sit at the front facing outside.
Overall would return.
We love exploring Melbourne to check out new brunch spots. The Hub 3070 tops the list and the food hands down the best brunch meal I've had in 2019. Stand out is the Pork Belly, well balanced of flavours with the pear, hollandaise sauce, sweet potato and the delicious Pork Belly! My wife thought the Beetroot latte was amazing.
Beetroot Latte is amazing. It is not from coffee menu, but you can ask the staff for it. Love it
Super friendly service and delicious food. The brioche French toast was amazing, rich but not sickly sweet. Can’t wait to come back with Zomato Gold again.

Top cafe around the northern suburbs. A few Ted Baker and young gym crowds on the weekends.
Staff were extremely friendly and service was phenomenal. A good kids play area and amazing selection of coffee and cheap at $3.8 for regular $4.5 for large.
Meals were well price and great with z gold 1+1.
The lamb and salmon poke were good. Maybe a fresh salmon selection or spices would make it better.
We were in the area and decided to check out the cafe because of the good reviews. We're glad we did! The veggie big breakfast was one of the best veggie brunch dishes I've had. My partner's smoked salmon was also really delicious. Would come back again!
Food, service, coffee, and decor here are all excellent, the avocado slider was filling and incredible delicious
Food was pretty good but the service was really slow, more than 30mins wait. Wheb asking for status, the staff/manager was very defensive and putting up an attitude.
Food was delicious here! Highlights were the eggs benedict and the matcha panacotta. The chai smoothie was also very delicious and overall very reasonable prices! Would definitely return as every dish was all round good.
The Hub is a great place to sit and eat. The service was speedy and the food was delicious, I ordered the Poke Bowl with salmon, quinoa, avo, black sesame and beetroot tzatziki, and it was fantastic, with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented. My hubby ordered the Lamb Kleftiko Bowl, with freekah bean mix, fresh lime, feta & tahini sauce. He said the lamb was very tender and tasted delicious. The kids also loved playing in the kids corner play area, leaving us to relax and enjoy our meal. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
Love this place! Discovered it through Zomato Gold and will definitely come back - laid back vibe with just genuinely good food! A little sweet with their coffee order is a nice touch as well.
This is what a brunch place should be, where the food is actually as good as it looks, maybe even better. Got the pork belly and it was super juicy, no idea that sauces they used but I like it.
Great friendly service and carefully presented salmon potato croquette dish with poached egg, feta, spinach and hollandaise. It’s a very busy dish so the seasoning is quite extreme - sweet/sour and salty components everywhere! A little too much for my plain palette but for the average diner a big tick!
Will come back for:
+ French toast
+ Big breakfast
Was in the area and popped by this local cafe for brunch. We were greeted with super friendly front of house staff that immediately made you feel welcome. We had the big breakfast which had a generous serving of sausages, hash, mushies, poached egg and avo. And also shared the French toast which was rich, textural, and super satisfying. I liked the generous inclusion of fruits to help cut through all the sweetness, and provided pops of relief. Overall, it was a pretty good breakfast experience and one I would gladly come back again at some point.
A friendly place with great atmosphere. Busy place, We were greeted with a smile and taken to our table quickly. The menu was great and quick service. The food presentation was excellent. We used Zomato gold which was a great deal. We had a great time and would recommend this cafe... well worth a visit. See you guys again soon 😀
OH MY GOD!!!! The food is out of this world!!!!!!! I had the French toast and it was mind blowing, my friend had the chilli scramble with both mushroom and bacon and she had to order another one it was that good. We also ordered the house made banana bread and carrot cake and they were scrumptious. The coffee was strong, delicious, smooth and with a touch of love. The staff are friendly, they great you with the warmest smiles and they actually take the time to interact with you and make the experience amazing. We had a Greek girl with glasses and she was so friendly and recommended such awesome food, Jackie front of house is just delightful. Would come back every weekend! George the owner has an incredible cafe!!!
I came to this cute place for the first time. Food was great and all staff were so friendly. A must go to place if you haven't been here yet.
Good ambience. Amazing service... Menu items are very interesting, and they have lots of vegetarian options. Had Shemji omelette and it was very flavourful.
The Brioche French Toast is absolutely lovely!
FOOD: I ordered the Brioche French Toast and it was really delicious! It was one of the most special and delicious French Toasts I have ever had! The macaroon was surprisingly one of the most perfect macaroons I’ve had in terms of texture, the bread was fried to perfection, the nutella cream cheese was CRAZY amazing and the berries were really fresh! You can really tell The Hub 3070 put their love into their cooking and sourcing which makes it so so much more worth it!
SERVICE: The service was really friendly and welcoming!
Overall, The Hub 3070 was definitely worth the travel and one of the best French Toast places I have ever been to! I love how they also accomodate with their bookings online and they have a super lovely crew! That Zomato Gold is really a score with this place!
Very lovely place, nice open space, great place for brunch with friends and family, the service was quite nice, and the coffee was pretty good.
It takes a lot in such a foodie world to say something was truly sensational tasting and delightful but the veggie big brekkie with a side of crispy bacon did just that and I’ve been messaging anyone who’ll listen about it! The flavours first and foremost , the presentation and the friendly staff really make this place a MUST try as much as I don’t want to not be able to get a table ! kids chicken strips were a hit and bacon focaccia also received great reviews with coffee getting comments like “phenomenal “ my green smoothie was lovely and chocolate brownie so gooey and rich !
Would I recommend?!
Hell yes and I’ll return too, great job to the Hub!
Cool toddler play area too.
Drove a fair way to try the hub 3070 for Sunday brunch! Food was incredible... We ordered the Nutella French toast and Avo + pumpkin on brioche! Highly recommend this place 😊 coffee was fantastic too! The owner made the time to say hi as we were leaving which was really lovely. Will definitely be back.
I’ve been here twice and enjoyed both times. The first time it was for breakfast mid week with some friends, the waiter was absolutely lovely and the food was great. A very good portion serving for the price you pay. It’s nice that’s it’s slightly below average price but the food is great quality. I have not had coffee here yet but the menu has good variety. I went again a second time and had the mushroom omelette. Not as great, a little too much Parmesan cheese and not enough greens to balance it. Overall great place
This lovely cafe in Northcote really is a hub of activity, set up as a wonderful meeting place for friends and family to come together and enjoy some fantastic food. A spacious, open feel lends a welcoming atmosphere and the vibe is comfortable and friendly. Staff work hard to provide not only great food and drinks, but also a place for you to really relax and enjoy yourself.
The menu is really exciting, and we had some fantastic meals. The presentation of the dishes was stunning, and that made us more eager to dive into our food. A delicious eggs Benny served on homemade potato rostis was excellent; with amazing hollondaise sauce and creamy, poached eggs and perfectly cooked bacon. The soup of the day was an unbelievable mushroom soup which was thick and earthy with just the right amount of seasoning. Served with crusty toast, the soup was a perfect winter's dish.
The gorgeous matcha panacotta was surrounded by toasty granola, dried fruits, fresh berries and a delicious poached pear. The texture was smooth and silky and the matcha flavour wasn't too overpowering. We finished with decadent French toast and it really was fabulous. Coated in cinnamon sugar and served with lashings of Nutella, fresh berries and a cute macaroon; this French toast was a flavour explosion. Crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, we really loved this dish.
The coffee at the Hub is great, and the freshly made smoothies are also fantastic. This amazing food along with efficient, friendly service makes The Hub 3070 the place to be in Northcote; and judging by the happy chatter surrounding us, the locals agree.
Thank you for hosting us.
Food was awesome, very well presented and reasonably priced. My remark was the effortless service, the owner seemed genuinely interested. And Charles Bradley playing on the backgroud, tune.
Closer to 4.5 stars
Neighborhood Gem. Very pleasant and friendly servers. Good coffee. Even better smoothies!
We ordered the smashed Avo on Brioche with pumpkin. Loved the combination, brioche was soft and lightly toasted. Only wish there were 2 buns instead of one! (9/10)
Potato hash stack with salmon. When they say potato stack - them mean a thick hash stack! Downside is that unlike your typical hash brown/Rosti the ratio of soft potato filling and crispy outside (which I personally think is the best part!) is off. Still very tasty (8/10)
Overall worth the trip out! Will visit again!
An easy winner! My group of 3 adults and 1 toddler was very happy with our meals, and there was a super sweet little play area with books and pretend shopping toys for kids. My 2 year old was delighted. Plenty on the menu to suit different tastes. The space was warm and the place bustling. We were lucky to get a spot without a booking, we'll definitely book in future. On street parking was a breeze. I'll be making excuses to come back for sure!
10/10 on their unique brunch menu ... 8/10 on coffee, great addition, and conversion from its previous life ... authentic, a local gem with a bit of Cypriots twist and loads of pleasantness ... keep up the awesome work. JT-JAN 2019.
Friendly and attentive staff.
Love the chillies scrambled eggs with bacon, fluffy and crispy croissant, good portion of bacon.
Partner ordered big breakfast, portion isn’t as big as expected, but good flavour.
Friend ordered potato hashstack with salmon, she thought was good flavour too.
Definitely will revisit again.
Where do I even start?!
The Hub 3070 located in the heart of Northcote is a hidden gem. From the minute we walked in the lovely team greeted us with BIG smiles and made us feel very welcome.
ATMOSPHERE:
- The restaurants layout was great, ranging from general tables to lounging chairs. The furniture was fresh and the natural light was beaming through the front and back...what's not to love as a food blogger?!
FOOD & DRINK:
We tried an array of dishes all savoury for once..
- Smashed Avo with Scrambled Eggs
- Potato Hash Stack with Bacon
- Lamb Kleftiko Bowl
- Acai Smoothie
- Iced Latte
- Cappuccino
- Sticky Chai
REVIEW (5/5): 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
What's not to ❤ about this cafe? The staff we're beautiful, the cafe had great lighting and the food was sensational..a big shout out to George!!!
Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back myself to try more off their extensive menu! 😍
Excellent place, probably the best place for breakfast in Northcote.
why?
-A well designed menu.
-Reasonably priced, no option seemed unnecessarily expensive
-great coffee
- We ordered the Big brekkie, chilli scrambled egg on a croissant and the smashed avo on brioche w roast pumpkin; the big brekkie wasn't the biggest i've had but was just right and had the variety, the sausages and the potato rosti were the standouts, the pumpkin hummus on the smashed avo was really tasty and brought the whole dish together but the best on that day was the chilli scrambled egg; they're on to a winner here with this one, the kick was good and reminded of the chilli on every bite but was still balanced nicely by the croissant.
-we surely left with a feeling of wanting to come back again soon and now with Zomato gold it makes even more sense.
then why did I not rate it a 5?
a few small things
-they stuffed up the order and got us another dish instead of the chilli scrambled egg, although the staff was kind to replace it, we did have to wait for another 10 mins or so, now I am not fussy about this usually but there was only one other table at the time. anyways this isn't a big deal
-i had asked if the roast tomato in the big brekkie could be replaced by goats fetta which is of a lesser price in the extras list, i think thats a reasonable request but i was told that we can't replace any element from the menu, I had to then order it as an extra, again not a huge deal but I don't see why that couldn't be done.
The food here is really good as well as the coffee!! Although the food is great and so is the service, it seems to be a bit dangerous as ingredients that are in dishes aren’t on the menu. For example the eggs on toast do not state that there are almonds added on top- and the açai bowl does not state peanuts, which is a major allergy! Lovely food but they should definitely state these on the menu so no one has a reaction or has to take their food back to the kitchen after ordering!!
What a fantastic find of this place tucked near the rail line in Northcote. The boss and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Table service was prompt.
This place is absolutely a delight for the senses as the dishes were so beautifully plated, and tasted very yummy too.
Loved all that we ordered- the photos speak a thousand words.Go try now!
xxoo Jo
Great new fave local!
The roasted pumpkin brioche and avocado dish was beyond amazing 😍 will order again and again!
Staff were extremely lovely and the cafe is cute.
Delicious food and great coffee.
Will be back!
MM
Fantastic quality food, great service and so cheap!
The coffee was also lovely and I noticed there’s also a kid play corner which would be great for families :)
📝: A family friendly cafe to meet with friends, chill out and recharge over excellent coffee and great quality food! Stock up on food-to-go & groceries as well!
❤️: For anyone visiting The Hub 3070, don’t miss their signature dish of Grilled Shimeji Mushroom Omelette. It is by far, the BEST omelette. Grilled mushrooms sandwiched in an aromatic bed of cheesy buttery omelette with moonlight goat cheese, pine nuts, spinach, and chives on organic sourdough.
Savoring this oozing egg dish on Easter! Just can’t resist that double oozing orange yolk that makes their already great potato hash stacks with cured salmon florentines even better. This is just the perfect-est egg dish ever.

Just like this review (and many others), our catch up with Timinmelbourne was an overdue one. With work and conflicting schedules leading to a couple of prior failed attempts, we finally managed to meet over brunch one Saturday arvo.
Located at a sleepy part of Northcote, The Hub boasts of a venue that’s airy and spacious with a bubbly team that’s engaging and attentive.
Kickstarting with a round of coffees, my Soy Latte was smooth and earthy, a good brew that was emulated in Tim.E’s Piccolo Latte and my partner’s Double Espresso.
A well constructed menu is always a good thing, but it never makes decisions easy. An eeny, meeny, miney and a mo later, it was the Chilli Scrambled Eggs with Mushrooms for me, coinciding with Tim.E’s choice for which he opted with bacon instead. Hardly one to skip any form of protein, I completed my platter with some Cypriot sausages.
His partner ended up with the Potato Hashstack and Mushrooms, while my cheeky partner refused to let us in on his order, secretly whispering it to the waitress.
Turns out it was something off the Specials board which I had neglected to take note of since my back was conveniently facing it. Well thanks for “informing” me, hun! Hmph!
Checking out the board once the secret was out, I’ll admit it was hard not to be enticed with a dish that consisted of pork belly, poached eggs drizzled with hollandaise sauce, sourdough bread and sweet potato. Good? Yes. Great? Nearly. One overcooked poached egg and a tasty but rather dry pork belly brought down its full potential.
Mine on the other hand, was a thing of beauty, scrambled eggs that were perfectly moist with a good dose of heat from the dollops chilli sauce, all served on a buttery croissant. Yeehaw!
After brunch, we headed to a nursery just across the road to walk it off and had some innocent fun with the Venus fly traps on display. Lol!
What an awesome breakfast! It was delicious and the tea was great too! Definitely recommend a visit! The staff were also really friendly and welcoming.
Time for brunch today at The Hub. The place offers excellent service, friendly and professional.
I had a chilli scrambled w a croissant and bacon which was absolutely delicious. The eggs were cooked really well, the chilli sauce packed s punch and the fresh chilli’s spicy lol
My partner had the vegetarian option of a potato hash w mushroom and tomato which was a winner!
We were fortunate enough to have brunch w Jojo Armani and her partner which was great. Such fine company, and whilst Jojo had a vegetarian chilli scrambled her partner had the pork belly which was one of the specials. I tried some of the pork belly which was really good too.
My piccolo latte was tasty and everyone enjoyed their respective meals. This place is definitely worth a visit!

Very bloody good! 🍴
So we went here on a whim as it was a little out of our way but it was well worth the detour! The service was amazing and our waitress was lovely. They have a great range on the menu including some awesome sounding veggie and vegan dishes! They also only use free range meat from the looks of it (as all restaurants should) but its good to see it here too!
We went for the Calamari Salad with fries and the Chicken Poke Bowl. Both were absolutely delicious and could not fault them. Excited to come back and try more of their epic sounding menu!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
As a Northcote local, I know too well that the cafe scene is a competitive sport... one that The Hub 3070 is definitely winning! In short, the staff (specifically the owner) are extremely friendly, welcoming and accomodating.
I've tried a variety of menu items and I'm always happy with what I choose.
- Brioche French Toast
- Acai Bowl
- Matcha Panna Cotta
- Salmon Poke Bowl
They are all so tasty and vibrant! The coffee is smooth also.
So gooooooood best French toast ever the bread was just incredible not dry at all unlike many other cafes attempts. The cream cheese Nutella was pretty good too even though can’t really tast any hints of cheese. Also had croque monsier was ok but def order French toast
Amazing service! Staff were very friendly and tentative. Always there to offer any drinks or fill up our water. Serving sizes were fantastic and very generous. Tumeric latte mug and presentation was on point. Would defs return!
This place is amazing! The food was fresh, delicious and looked great too! The service was impeccable and the gentlemen was so friendly and even gave us a free brownie to try which was homemade...10/10 for a cute little cafe, loved the decor too! Will certainly be back soon! :)
George and the staff are always very friendly and welcoming! We have been here quite a few times and have always been surprised at how good the food is! It's also such a great spot to sit at by the window and enjoy a coffee, some of the best coffee in the area as well!

Oh boy! I wish I could give 10 stars because this is what The Hub 3070 deserves! Staff are absolutely amazing, friendly and caring. I observed their interactions with other customers and they really went out of their way to help. There is the coolest little play area for the kids, so perfect to take them along and the space is set out wonderfully!
Now the food, the best brunch I’ve had in AGES! The eggs were cooked to perfection, perfectly gooey and delicious. The Matcha and Vanilla Panna Cotta matched the coconut yoghurt in a delightful and sweet combo. The omelette....OMG sooooo good!!!
The owner, George, is so welcoming and it was wonderful having a chat with him! You must check this place out!
Guys, I really can’t fault this cafe. Food was amazing, the location is accessible super quick by car (20 mins from Hawthorn) and right next to a train station too! Oh my god the French Toast was heaven! Followed by the Eggs benny and the scramble eggs in a croissant 🤤 Even better, the owner was so hospitable, talking to us and his customers. And the staff were nice, giving us great food advice! Check this place out!
I came to The Hub on invitation with a group of foodie friends, and we had the loveliest experience. On the outside, it may look small and dark and a bit hard to find - but once you enter through the doors it’s a completely different vibe! The interior is bright and bustling, and packed on a Sunday morning. It’s not only a wonderful cafe, but it is very family-friendly with a small play area for children near the back.
I started off with a matcha latte with almond milk and it was beautiful! Very silky and smooth and not too sweet nor bitter. It came in a huge mug too!
We then moved onto the food. There’s a nice variety of savoury and sweet dishes on offer, and they all look so appetising! We decided on getting a savoury dish each, along with two sweet dishes to share.
I had the Potato Hashstack with Salmon which was delicious! The potato hash itself was crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside, and the eggs were poached perfectly. I loved the creaminess of the hollandaise which was balanced well by the pickled cabbage. The Chilli Scrambled Eggs were also a winner - it was a lovely meddle of sweet and sour and the chilli sauce definitely gave it a kick!
The Brioche French Toast was stunning too - I especially loved the Nutella cream cheese which was actually quite light and not overly sweet. The Turmeric Waffles (on the specials board) was lovely with the ice cream.
The staff are super friendly and accommodating, and so nice to talk with. The Hub completely exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend checking it out!
Fantastic service and amazing food. We love coming here for either just a quick coffee or a proper brunch date. The Hash Stack is my go to dish.
Great atmosphere, lovely staff and a good menu. I had the 370 veggie breakfast and it was delicious! I’d definitely be going back :) Hope to see scrambled tofu on the menu in the not too distant future!
This cafe is an absolute gem to join the Northcote area. Run by a bunch of friendly people, offering awesome food and desserts, great coffee and lots of variety - what more could you ask for really!? I’ll be back I’m sure!
Was very pleased after this first visit and thought that I will definitely be back.
I also liked that they sell local, whole food and healthy products to take home.
As a unique point, the space is large and has a little play area for children and large restrooms with changing facilities.
The owner/manager was very friendly and welcoming.
Beef kleftiko melts in your mouth and the big breakfast was tasty with clean presentation.
Super impressed and looking forward to visiting again.
Enjoyed Mother’s Day here with my son today- another fabulous experience! The staff are happy and warm and the food is quite simply, divine. Enjoyed the Big Brekkie today- the house made Cypriot pork and lamb sausage was a real highlight and the coffee is spot on! Love the family friendly, community feel here. Keep doing what you’re doing, guys!
This cafe has recently had it's first birthday out in Northcote. The fit-out inside is very spacious with plenty of room to relax and enjoy some lovely food. Staff were super friendly and treated all customers with respect We found the food to be super tasty with a lot of the ingredients made in house. This helped contribute to the dishes having extra flavour. Would certainly go back again!
We are visiting from California and found The Hub while we were taking a walk in the neighborhood. The food was amazing! George and staff were so friendly and the service was excellent. A must stop if your in Northcote
great little place. work nearby and only 1 other cafe and a servo nearby. this place is defs a fave. great food with great flavours! recommend the hash stack!!
staff are fantastic. take the time to learn your name and are sincere!
A+ all round.
Great atmosphere and service here is 2nd to none. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming. A great place to brunch with kids as there is a big indoor play area
Close to Dennis station in northcote is this great space for all. There is a little corner for play for kids, ample space for prams and reading coffee for mum and families to enjoy. I loved their coffee and food options. I prefer 2 slices of toast with my food (always) that's my only complaint. Great staff , not rushing you to order or to get out. A must if you're in Northcote
We had the pleasure of visiting The Hub today and what an awesome experience it was. The food is simple yet delicious and the coffee is definitely on point. You actually feel like part of the family when you visit and the customer Service is spot on. Loved everything about this place. It’s a definite must try!
I had the absolute pleasure of dining as a guest yesterday at The Hub in Northcote and couldn’t believe how they’d managed to flawlessly execute dishes you’d find in inner city cafes were there are always lines out the door. They bring this deliciousness to a residential area for locals to enjoy and being across the road from the station they are easily accessible to anyone else too.
Good quality tasty brunch fare in a beautiful space with a play area tucked into the corner. This is perfect for mums and dads who might want to catch up with other parents for breakfast as it keeps the kids entertained but also isolates the noise from the other diners.
We started with some hot beverages and I noted both the Chai and turmeric lattes both came with honey on the side which was fantastic as I love the idea of being able to sweeten to taste (all the honey in mine, very little for my dining companion).
We perused the impressive and extensive cake cabinet as we waited for our food and were awestruck to learn that pretty much everything it contained bar the macarons were made in house. It’s good to know your sweet treats are fresh and made with love. We also took a look at the retail arm which provided many gourmet goodies you could purchase to enjoy at home. Very cool.
Being a hot day I decided to go for the açai bowl which was the perfectly blended texture. Often I find they can be a bit icey but it was super refreshing and delicious. I also couldn’t go past trying the granola with the mango pana cotta. It seems no Melbourne cafes breakfast menu is complete without a trending pana and this was a phenomenal rendition. With a textbook wobble and a deliciously balanced flavour it was literally the best one I’ve had to date. I adored the coconut yoghurt with it and the lovely fresh fruit was in perfect proportion. Stunning presentation also
My dining companion had the burger special which was a beetroot bun veggie burger. All very reasonably priced and generous portions to satisfy any discerning foodie.
With a modern fit out and friendly faces at the counter (family run operation) we’ll certainly be back for more of their delicious food and service with a smile
The Hub is a relatively-new local Northcote cafe with excellent food, atmosphere and coffee! When you visit The Hub, you NEED the Brioche French Toast (Nutella cream cheese, Toasted hazelnuts and Berries). Whole-heartedly recommend it! Colourful, balanced, fresh. Yes.
A great local cafe that has really great service, atmosphere, food and great coffee! It was very Spacious and very comfortable. I will most definitely be coming back here again!

And for sure with a cup of warm coffee ☕️
Really lone this awesome "Free Range Eggs Your Way" with English spinach, Rustie's organic sourdough and sunflowers dukkah 🌿🍳☕️🌻🍴
So warm & family friendly atmosphere with a cute kids zone ☕️📍 The Hub 3070 ❤️☕️ for your breakfast, lunch or a cup of coffee! 💥 HUNGRYMATE
Back to the Hub again this morning. Enjoyed my big breakfast very much, especially the Cypriot sausage the name of which momentarily escapes me. My coffee was lovely too. Service was warm and friendly. The Hub is the comfortably the best cafe in this shopping strip and is highly recommended.
Four months earlier
We came here as a result of the leadership shown by Penguineats in recent days. Their review spurred us into a visit. This cafe/bistro used to be known as Over the Road until a major renovation a number of months ago. The space has undergone substantial change and some lovely modifications have been made. It's more modern, orderly and coherent. The gifts that used to be dotted around the place are gone and it's more spacious and warmer. Today we ordered the egg and bacon focaccia with chili jam. It was very nice and made for a hearty lunch. We finished it off with coffees and a scientifically halved salted caramel cookie. The cookie belongs with the foods served to the angels in heaven. I felt significant psychological pain finishing my half. My coffee was ok but not one I'd include in a hall of fame. This was a very nice first visit. I'll be returning here at some point. It's a nice place and some of the other dishes looked fantastic.
The Hub is a relatively new but much-welcome addition to the quieter neighbourhood of Westgarth. The family-centric venue offers up large spaces filled with plenty of natural light, a children’s play area as well as a cosy fireplace.
This homey cafe not only manages to satisfy your tastebuds with delicious food served at generous portions, but is destined to become the local neighbourhood gem.
Came here on a weekday morning and experienced smiley service in a spacious and relaxed cafe. Looks very kid friendly too! The veg big breakfast was delish - loved the pumpkin and the egg was perfect. Thank you!
Very cool little cafe serving heaps of vegan options. It’s quite busy when I went so the kitchen was a little slow. Waited for 45mins before food came but it was worth the wait. Everything was really good except the salmon poke bowl. Which was just smoked salmon so didn’t really go well with the taste of their beetroot sauce? The mushroom omelet is tasty, and the pork belly was great too. Staffs are very friendly and welcoming and on thing to note is that this place is very child friendly. Has a little play area at the back, and you can tell their customers really appreciate it as every table had at least one child on them. So kudos to them! It’s very rarely you’d find a kid friendly cafe. Will be back for sure!
Great cafe located right near Dennis station!
The staff were super friendly and helpful, food was delicious and the toilets were clean. I'd certainly recommend to anyone in the Northcote area. The haloumi and eggplant were delicious!
Where do I even start?!
The Hub 3070 located in the heart of Northcote is a hidden gem. From the minute we walked in the lovely team greeted us with BIG smiles and made us feel very welcome.
-The restaurants layout was great, ranging from general tables to lounging chairs and even a communal table. The furniture was fresh and the natural light was beaming through the front and back...what's not to love as a food blogger?!
My friends and I tried an array of dishes:
- Smashed Avo with Scrambled Eggs
- Potato Hash Stack with Bacon
- Lamb Kleftiko Bowl
- Acai Smoothie
- Iced Latte
- Cappuccino
- Sticky Chai
What's not to love about this cafe? The staff we're beautiful, the cafe had great lighting and the food was sensational..a big shout out to George!!!
Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back myself to try more off their extensive menu!
Lovely staff, relaxed atmosphere.
Coffees excellent (skinny cap and cold drip).
The fairy floss pancakes were the perfect sugar hit and so pretty!
Great little local joint that does great breakfast/brunch and lunch options. The buttermilk chicken burger in particular is great. Has amazing coffee and a great selection of sweets including vegan friendly options. Great staff and awesome atmosphere.
Good coffee and food. Excellent service, both our server and barista were both friendly and welcoming.
Absolutely delicious brunch with amazing service. The food was spectacular and when our dishes arrived, one of the order was mistakenly placed and the staff corrected it without question and even let us keep the wrong dish which was delightful. Needless to say, we were so full and satisfied by the end of it. Would definately be back again 😊
