Review Thai Tiki Hut - Northcote

Chris
The staff here is always friendly and they always look after you. I get takeaway here regularly but I had dinner here again. It is not expensive. The food, service and atmosphere were good; I have never found it noisy here.
Jena Rae
I got the Panang curry. It’s super yum and filled with heaps of veggies but i got the tofu as well and honestly could’ve done without it. The tofu is really tough and not that great (why i gave the 4 stars). So if you are veggie like me, just get veg and skip the tofu and you’ll be happy :)

Have been coming here for dinner for the past 5yrs and have never been disappointed. Ordered takeout for pickup during the covid lockdown too. The food is delicious and good value for money. There is plenty of seating with multiple bamboo seating booths available, best to book on the weekend if you want a booth as it does get busier. The decor is really amazing stuff with Thai music playing, Thai memorabilia and movie posters with a large LCD TV playing classic Thai movies on mute. Highly recommended. If driving down you can park at the car park behind the BWS drive through (next to Lentil as Anything)

Every meal was to die for and cooked to perfection! Such a nice atmosphere as well and loved all the art work/ decorations in the restaurant.

Great place to come to for Thai food, been here a few times pre-covid and have just returned again so good to see that the quality is still amazing! Delicious food with generous sized plates
REX GEORGE
Did not feel like authentic Thai food. The only waiter who looked like family was a little bit discourteous - appreciating the fact that she was the only one there

Had the takeaway. Got Pork Massaman and Vege Curry puffs. All awesome! The Curry puffs came with a peanut sauce, that was absolute heaven. Puff pastry, really tasy!

I think I've ordered 3 times from this place in the past ten days (maybe less), very impressed. The stirfrys are great and I love the spice level options. Very spicy is almost like eating in Thailand 😃. Definitely a hidden gem.... The reviews online indicate likewise. I would definitely recommend.

LOVED the food. This place is amazing. I ordered a Vegetarian Cashew nut Stir Fry (extra sauce) with Jasmine Rice, and it was really delicious and tasty. The veggies were cooked nicely, and the stir fry sauce was perfect. The portion size was really good, and was very filling. The value for money was really great, as Stir Fry + Rice was only for $15.90. The ambience of this place is also great, and I am definitely coming back here!

THAI TIKA HUT A LITTLE SLICE OF THAI HISTORY.
Seeing lm half Thai this related to me
I WAS TOLD ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT THE OTHER DAY by my friends brother while he ate my Thai food
Ime an adoptee from Thailand so this place bought back nostalgia from a past history.
Not many tourists know about the US and Australian soldiers that were based throughout Thailand during the Vietnam war.
Inside the restaurant are these little Thai corrugated booths which would have been like the places my Afriamerican Dad and other US soldiers would have eaten at. On the walls depicts classic old thai movies from the 60s and in the seated bamboo booths you will see some old Army hats.
After finding my biological Thai mother this year 2019 l felt right at home in this little warm and friendly place the foods DELICIOUS TO.:)
I was born in Ubon Ratchaianni the airport was the Army base used for flying planes into Vietnam Thailand had 4 army bases and many Amerasians like myself wre born in this era Thai tika hut ill be coming back with my other friends and familiy for sure.
The most Authentic Thai food in the North. Thai Tiki Hut has an amazing ambience and the food is amazing. OMG that Garlic Pepper Chicken dish....and the money bags! GAH my mouth is watering. Do yourself a favour, a date night or a night with mates - head there with your own bottle of wine and enjoy!

3.5. A cute little restaurant on High St, I liked the idea of the bamboo booths inside although admittedly they weren't the most comfy to sit on. We shared the chicken curry puffs which had a lovely peanut sauce, as well as the prawn pad thai and chicken pad see-ew. The pad thai was ok, a little on the drier side and I would've liked more sauce, but the pad see-ew was delicious and I loved the sauce on the rice noodle. I don't normally order pad see-ew, but will definitely start ordering it more from now on.

Back in the Seventies Thai food was pretty new on the scene in Australia. Unfortunately what was heady and exciting back then doesn't cut the mustard in 2018, Melbourne.

The drab interior with way too many uncomfortable chairs and the cheesy paraphernalia is not nice. I knew the person behind me would bump me and eventually he did. As for the faux bamboo huts please send them back to Koh Samui.

I ordered an entree and two mains. Guess what? They all came at once. Flipping hate that. Screams laziness and an attempt to rush me. The Pad Thai was big but tiring after the first mouthful. Tried adding some lime but I only got a single drop from the driest wedge ever encountered. Ordered same chilli. They dished up chopped frozen (probably imported) chillies. It’s bit cheap, bit rough. The beef curry was mostly sauce and tamer than a ragdoll cat.

The only brightness in this sea of mediocrity was the Tom Kha, very interesting flavour. Let down however by the tiny zero flavoured prawns. Again probably freshwater, farmed, frozen and imported. Perhaps order with chicken instead and a side of rice, would make for a nice lunch.

The place is always busy. No idea why, perhaps its the cheapest alcohol on High St helps.

Tasty, fresh and reasonably priced food, cheap beers, relaxed atmosphere & quick service. Thai tiki hut never disappoints, why would you go anywhere else?

I felt like I was back in the seedy beachside streets of Pattaya Thailand, sitting inside a very uncomfortable Tiki. Fun though! All your classic Thai favourites. Very 'street' cuisine. Very homely and honest. After a few Singha beers the boys started getting rowdy and we ordered another round of their wicked wings. Staff were very friendly and service was fast. The staff look at you while you eat too, which is exactly what they do in Thailand. It's great. They'll always on the ball making sure u don't drop even a grain of rice on the table. And the Hawaiian shirts? Yeh it's what they wear in Pattaya too!

Will be back here for some more good times with the fellers!
Cheers!
Hang Mai
Very disappointed with the food. Didn't taste anything like Thai cuisine. Flavours were not well balanced, instead it was overly sweet... Had to wait for an hour for food too. Would not come again..
Mia
Yum, yum and yum.
You usually get to sit in a booth and I personally always like that. It has amazing food and friendly staff. Will be coming
back as I had an amazing night.

It took me a few visits to get past the Sweet Thai sausage fried rice as it's just so yum, but delving into the rest of the menu was just as fantastic. The service is also quietly friendly too, with the staff always polite and welcoming.
Hannah Stewart
Great authentic thai food cooked by thai chefs. Its nice to find good thai resturants that havent got the western influence. Great and friendly service
Kris Iyer
My regular Thai joint as it's a 5 mints walk from home. Nice & cozy interiors. Polite and courteous staff. Veg spring rolls, Deep fried chicken ribs, chicken green curry with rice, chilly and basil stir fry, Tom yum soup a must try. Ask for cut Thai chilly & chilly sauce if you like it spicy.

Great food one of the best I've been too. Fresh and tasty Nothing fancy just really good food and great service. I will recommend this to my friends.

These guys have totally upped their game. We live just around the corner but haven't been to Thai Tiki Hut for years due to some pretty average meals had previously. I'm glad to say, on giving them another try tonight with take-away, we were pleasantly surprised. Beautiful tender chicken stir fry with loads of very fresh veggies. Delicious. Thank you!
Julycheee
The Golden Bags we started with were pretty good with the crispy wonton skin and sweet chilli dipping sauce. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. The fried chicken was incredibly dry and tough. The beef salad featured inconsistent beef which was all really tough and chewy, however some pieces were still blue while others were cooked through. The three vegetables in the pad see ew were rather chunky, a bit raw and bitter. The salad and garnishes on all the dishes didn't look too fresh. The Thai food here seems to be poor quality, not well cooked and the ingredients not very fresh.
Sweet And Sour Fork
Making an effort to avoid my usual favourite of pad kee mao, I chose to have the Chicken Pad See Ew ($14.9) instead. Despite a list of ingredients that I have always thought sounded dull, this fried noodle dish was actually a treat. The wide, slippery noodles were smoky from the wok, seasoned with a delectable combination of savoury soy sauce, sweet oyster sauce, and a touch of tanginess from a squeeze of lime. There was also a generous amount of chicken, as well as a selection of crisp veggies.

The worst Thai food I have ever eaten in my life
Rice felt like it was old I had feeling it just sat there in fridge for week and no one ate it until it was served to me;)
We ordered curries felt like restaurant bought packaged curries from Coles
Oh yeah I forgot to say rice was cold too
Last but not least sits are so small and uncomfortable even my date who is skinny than anybody in this world said so too
To the good note- service was exceptional
Cheers
Great! Fresh food and great flavours! The staff were very friendly ! Lovely environment I would definitely recommend! Not to mention the prices great value we will definitely be coming back😊

Good Thai food in the suburbs for both take away and dine in. I always get the curry puffs and the fried rice with egg on top. The curry is great if you want to be really full! The Thai beef salad is also a favourite - very flavourful and great when you want a tasty but not as heavy meal.
Gourmet John
They deliver and the staff are lovely, but where are those big thai flavours? Not in my mouth. Thai beef was not great, beef seemed a bit old. Tom khar soup was ok, not as tasty as others. Pad thai was nice however. Gourmet will try elsewhere next thai.
Makeitwhatyouwant
Very good Thai food. Like it lots.
Summer
Best Thai I've ever had. Worth the drive if you are not local or a must if you are local! Staff are very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is very nice. If you book, ask for a booth that is tiki themed. Very private and and comfortable setting. Food is very reasonably priced and dishes are plentiful. Dishes all have an abundance of vegetables and seafood is very fresh. My favourite would have to be the pad Thai (authentic and delicious) and the king prawns stir-fry, which for the price is the best value for money dish around. The prawns are massive! Food is always consistently outstanding! Worth a visit and you will see what I mean!
Sofie
Delicious food! It came out so quickly and tasted amazing. Lovely, attentive staff, cool interior. Stupidly cheap alcohol. We'll be regulars here.
Alesja Willo
Never had a bad meal here. Quick service, lovely staff and very affordable. Can't speak for the meat orientated meals but the vegetarian options (green curry especially) are fragrant and delicious. Take away is always ready in 10 minutes, so it's very convenient.
DJB
Wow what service
All
Our food out in under 5 minuites
Amazing staff
Amazing service
Amazing food
We will be back again very soon
Thank you for turning a bad night back into a good night

Fabulous fabulous fabulous! So very fresh, lovely vibe and totally affordable. Fantastic service with a smile and no request too difficult. We will be back.

Love this place! Go here quite often and I've never been disappointed. it's delicious, the food is decently priced and the beer is cheap-what more could you ask for?
Jessie Hams
Setup and decor was very well done; fun and interesting without being over-the-top. Very friendly and patience service, as we took so long to order. Food was very good and well priced, as well as the beverages. Very much enjoyed myself, and would highly recommend to anyone!
Iceman
TTH is well n truly a cut above food wise, with quality large servings. They also offer BYO wine, but...the service let them down which is a shame. Having said that, would I return? In a heart beat. Expect to part with around $20-25ph + drinks
Snoopy
Inside the restaurant has a row of hut seat, quite unique decor. Food price reasonable. Tom sum soup personally think is a little lack of seasoning, need more herb and spice. The Thai chilli sauce deep fried fish, the Thai chilli sauce a little plain, need more seasoning. Fish cake average.

Tiki Thai Hut, has an unassuming, suburban shop front and you'd never realise that it serves up some amazing Thai food. Funnily enough we went here for dinner before heading to the airport to catch a flight to Thailand and we weren't disappointed. We ordered all the standard dishes, satay chicken skewers, pad thai, some spring rolls, a green curry and a stir fry dish and it was all delicious! Definitely one to put on the to-do list!
Lauren Holmwood
I LOVE this place, super cheap, awesome bamboo booths, 4 dollar wines. The masiman curry and coconut rice is a match made in heaven and cheapest meal around, especially as me and my partner can easily share this for a cheap mid week takeaway. Thank you tiki thai hut and your lovely sweet waitresses
Mino.peric
Excellent food and wonderful service!. We ordered the ginger stir fry, massaman and the panang. Food was 10/10 and the service even better. Would definitely recommend and go again!
Bdav4491
Lovely Staff, great food, excellent value. A winner!. I'll keep this short and sweet. There are a lot of Thai restaurants around these days so it takes quite a special restaurant to stand out, but these guys manage it. Interesting decor was a unique touch in addition to the meal that I struggled to finish (but struggle I did). Great service from all staff, generous helpings of good quality food, and cheap! What more could you want? The least I could do is post a review. I will be heading back again for sure :)
Michelle
Tried twice, I don't understand why this place gets such a high rating. I assume most people will have eaten a $2 dollar pad Thai off the street in Thailand- so why am I paying 6-7 times the price for something infinitely inferior? Not only that the meat in the curries is dry, and sparse. Average at best. If anybody can tell me where I can get good Thai in the area I would be eternally grateful. I've been 'done' by two false positive urbanspoon ratings on Thai food now and I am pretty grumpy about it.
Dg
Usually very good. This time not.. My wife was happy with her curry.
I got the jungle curry with barramundi. In the menu it was detailed as spicy.
The dish might as well have been named Chunky Boring Soup.
The fish and vegies were cooked fine.
The jungle curry though was tasteless and definitely not spicy.
Morpheus Moss
I pass by everyday and never knew it existed till I read the review on urbanspoon. Tried it today with a group of friends and was pleasantly surprised, great service with a smile, food was tasty and well presented definitely will call again and again.
Dave Davidson
Good but not awesome Thai food for a good price. Quick service. My satay sauce chicken was good but could have had more satay.
Richard
The best takeaway I've had in the inner North in 7 years. I had a roti, chicken skewers and a BBQ beef dish with plain rice, my wife fish cakes and a chook pad thai. It was ready in 15 minutes at peak time on a Saturday night and is hands down the best takeaway of any kind I've had since we moved to this area 7 years ago. Great work TTH!
Adso
Below average but not the worst. Really lovely staff/interior, but the food was below average all round, don't get the mussaman curry, a lot of Melbourne Thai restaurants seem to be clueless with this dish. We got about 5 entrees, and. Most were ok, but needs to be much better. We just thought we would give it a crack as everything else was closed on a Monday night.
HungrySpice
Why haven't we been here earlier!. Had a great dinner with the kids tonight, sitting in one of the booths.
Food was very good. When the Larb Gai salad came to the table, the fragrant arrival took me straight back to one of my favourite meals in Bangkok years ago.
BBQ pork was perfectly cooked and enjoyed by all, as were fish cakes and chicken satays.
Vege Pad Thai, was light and flavoursome.
Generous serves for all. The booth was perfect for us too, kept the kids contained and happy in our little hut.
And to top it off staff were friendly and attentive.
Thai Tiki Hut is now firmly on our list of regulars.
Ilbeans
Tasty Thai food. Food was tasty and the decor was unusual but cool.

I'm a frequent diner and was a regular at Sukathai, ever since Brian and their chef Jay left the restaurant is just not the same!!! I had a real issue with their other owner over some very tough duck! And another time over a dish we did not order... So we gave Tika a go out pure frustration and we have never looked back. Very polite staff and fresh tasty Thai food.
Goodie Da Monk
Pretty average Thai in a nice quirky environment
Tarsha
Surprisingly good. Especially the Tom Yum soup!! Will be coming here again for sure!!

Dinner for 1. Went here for a quick dinner on my own after the gym, was ridiculously Tasty and fresh highly recommend it!
P.loh
Nice food. Done several take away already - Nice yummy food.
Jacamoo
Tasty and fresh. Too often I'm disappointed cos I can make fresher, tastier Thai myself. Finally when I can't be bothered cooking I've found a tasty, not too greasy Local takeaway. And a fried rice my fussy 4 year old enjoys!
Jonat.h
Very Nice. Good service and tasty food. What else could you want?
Acahill_au
Tell it like it is. The décor is nice, the staff friendly and attentive and the menu prices are reasonable. We ordered baby Barramundi, but the fish was not fully cooked, being still raw near the centre bone. The skewered chicken entrée was tasty although the portions were small. The main courses were 'just average', nothing special and the served rice portion was inadequate for two people. The bill presented was incorrect charging for three instead of two rice. I thought the corkage charge of $4 per bottle for two people drinking wine was overpriced. On balance, it is a good restaurant.

Dragged my reluctant husband along. We have been disappointed by thai food on so many occasions. Not this time! Food delicious and fresh. Service friendly and prompt. Servings great size. What is not to like?

Yummy !!!!!

Beautiful restaurant with a fantastic vibe. Service is great and really quick. Most delicious massaman sauce iv had in a long time.
Bishoy Awad
Thai tiki heaven. As I walked through the door, I'm greeted with a wisper of Thailand, small cottages inviting you to sit and enjoy a experiance. The food sensational, each bite gives you a sense of wonder.
Tasty Treats
Extremely satisfied. Had the seafood salad which contained a delicious selection of quality seafood. Will definitely be back.

Great food, friendly efficient service, well priced. Win!
Just ate the beef salad. Soooooo good

Top Marks.. If every eatery in Melbourne followed Thai Tiki's principles, the city would become the culinary capital of the world. Outstanding and happy service, great food and reasonable prices.
Sammi
Has to be one of the best Thai Restaurants Ive been too. I'll be back again and again. Amazing curry and servings are huge! Best ever chicken skewers! Highly recommend! The customer service is gorgeous and outstanding.. good people here. Get a tiki booth too. X x

My new favourite Thai place. Just recently stumbled upon this hidden treasure, and couldn't have been happier.
The service is friendly and attentive, and the food is simply amazing. It definitely reminds me of Thailand.
My friends and I ordered a few dishes (tom yum soup, red curry, and something stir fried) together with some coconut rice, and could not finish all of it! First time it has never happened.

Besides great food, they also have a decent choice of beer at excellent prices!

Highly recommended to anyone.
Northcote Girl
We used to be regulars at Sukhothai, but after a rather crappy experience we decided to try Thai Tiki Hut. It was one of our best dining decisions. The staff were super polite and attentive, and even took the time to have a chat to us. Our drinks were on the table as soon as we'd ordered them. The food was just as quick. It looked, smelled, and tasted amazing. Yet again, I have to mention how outstanding the staff there are, they didn't rush us out when we were done, in fact they even encouraged us to stay. How could you not in such a warm atmosphere. Will definitely be back. Seriously, try it out.
TheEnforcer
Service wad excellent. Food was ok. Have had better thai but I have very high standards. Atmosphere was great. Reminded me of my Thailand holiday.
Tizka1
Loved it. Loved every minute of Thai Tiki Hut. The service and food was great.. Would recommend this place to anyone living in the north of Melbourne... Can't wait to go back again!!
LyndaBynda
The food is full of flavour and the service is terrific!! We had 5 entrées and 4 mains plenty for a family of 4. The prices are very reasonable and the cozy decor (cute tiki huts) topped off the night!! Loved it all and we will be back!!
Bobby
Yummy, authentic Thai food and really nice service. Interesting fit out too, some really cool stuff in there!
Niknaks85
Great restaurant! Loved it-delicious! Nice staff an efficient!
Jessica Ilett
Delicious & Great Service. Great food, great service and a great atmosphere! Every seat in the house was booked! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a quick, fresh Thai meal.
Alunnifegatelli
Very tasty Thai food. I have been to this place many times and liked everything I ate there.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Great little place
Meowzers
The ginger prawns & satay vegetables were fresh and really tasty. The imported beers are really cheap and the service was great. Loved everything about this place.
Michelle Christou
Not sure why this place is always full and has great reviews. Yes there is the option to eat in a gimmicky 'tiki hut' but the food is average. But when yo
u live in Melbourne and are spoilt for choice when it comes to good thai food, then average just isn't good enough. Glad I tried it but won't be coming back.
Little Foodie
Best Thai in Melbourne for us!. We had Green curry and Pad thai which are our usual dishes to judge whether a restaurant is good.

Their green curry looked gorgeous and its taste didn't betray us. It's creamy, lots of meat and vegies in, and the vegies are freshly cooked taste, not soggy. We really liked it. It could be a bit more spicy. We'll request to make it a bit hotter next time, which means, of course, we'll come back here again!!

Pad thai was very nice too. I love the thin flat noodle they use. The sauce was not too sweet, just perfect. Overall, it's very fresh taste and not oily at all. This dish is also outstanding.

SInce above dishes were above our expectations, we ordered one more dish, which is Larb Gai (Chicken mince salad). I've had many Larb Gai at many Thai restaurants but theirs is the best !! I liked the balance of flavour, spiciness, and the texture of toasted rice powder!

I also enjoyed their authentic Thai feeling interiors and tables in small booths which gives us some private feelings. Their service is very professional and high standard.

I can tell that this restaurant is totally different from most other Thai restaurants around, where serve waterly curries with soggy vegies in and oily stirfry dishes.
Kattstar
Really likes it!! Very good food. Best I've had since I was in Thailand last year. Go to the Thai Tiki Hut!

This place is great! Staff are friendly & food is cheap & delicious.

Yum..... I have been past this place a number of time of the 86 and have been keen to see the interior and if the food matches. It was a nice experience with great decor. Comfortable and great ambiance. I liked the music. We had the roti and Thai fish cakes to start with. The best best Thai fish cakes I have had for a long time with great spice to them. Not to be missed.

For the main, coconut rice is something I can never go past and the servings were very generous. The seafood specialty dish of green peppercorn stir fry fish was delicate, and a sweet balance to the seafood panang curry which was not overly creamy as some can be. If you like a spicy curry, then ask for more perhaps, but I was not in the mood for super spicy tonight and it was just right. The price was reasonable with a bottle of wine coming under $67. Plus enought leftover for dinner for two the next night to take home.

The staff were sweet and quick to clean up. Only complaint is I had one is they were not unfamiliar with their menu. Perhaps the kitchen should do some tastings so I don't have to tell them what the food is like.

I can see this is going to be a local favourite with everyone saying they discovered it first.
Alcobon
Good quick service and great food. Staff are friendly and well priced. Can't ask for much more. Love the huts!
Stephen
Great experience. Love this traditional thai restaurant really love the atmosphere and the food is great!
Bridie Murphy
This place is okay. Loved the seat huts as for a group of girls you get privacy and can have a fun night without disturbing any one else. Staff were good and food and service was fast. But ends there. We had the veggie pad thai and and a curry and they were just okay and a bit bland and because of that, over priced. The pad thai had what tasted like tinned baby corn in it so lost points for freshness. I'll go back but only cos of the seats and I'll try something different to give them another shot food-wise. But fingers crossed they improve on the quality of their food.
Sarah
Yummy food! Good, friendly service. Tom yum soup (I asked for it Thai spicy)was delicious!!
Dee
Great food, fast friendly service for a good price. So happy this place has opened. Very noisy when its busy though.
Pea Ham
This Place is the Bomb. ...and the staff are even better. Went here for a bday dinner with friends and family last week hoping for the best, Northcote/Thornbury has a serious gap for quality/value thai . I'm pleased to report that the food is as sizzling as the decor. Crazy wings live up to their name and the BBQ beef was to die for. Do'nt go here looking for frills, go here for fun.

Long live Thai Tiki Hut.
Andrew
A warm and refreshing Restaurant . Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was fresh and appealing . The vegetarian stir fry and garlic and pepper stir fry were great. Highly recommend it.lovely setting and seating.
Frequent Diner
I really enjoyed this place. It was cheesy cool and fun. All the food was good, but if you're looking for hot hot you'll need to request it, although maybe my dish wasn't supposed to be hot
Kathryn Ananda
Best. Thai. EVER.. We eat out quite a bit, and are absolutely thrilled with this place. flavors are amazing, service is very good, and the place is obviously a business made from a personal passion! we highly recommend the lemongrass and peppercorn stir fry, and the tom kha soup! wishing the restaurant every success, and we know we'll be back often. :)
Richard George
Wow. The owners have really made an effort to make eating here an experience. Food is great, service is friendly and the price is just right. Well done guys. I'll be back tomorrow night for more :)
Miranda Bourke
Pretty Good. The decor was fun. The salad was limp - but it was a very hot night. The fish cakes, vege massaman curry and fried rice were very tasty. The booze was crazy cheap. Shall return.
Helga Hornig
Fantastic Thai food. I am most excited to have this fine little place near my home! I am a great fan of Thai food, and i can say, finally i can have it without flying 9 hours! I will have to hold myself back in fact, as i could easily eat here every night. All i will say, its authentic Thai food, and so whoever appreciates this, will be in heaven.
One thing though, and i hope the owner read this...your music is awful. We don't need cheap nightclub music, please do change it. Thanks!
Ruby Lou
Fantastic. Just got back after trying out the Thai Tiki Hut for the first time. Was very impressed with the food and service, I had the BBQ beef and the prawn spring rolls both were delightful. Attentive service and as a previous reviewer noted, cheap booze. Will definitely be coming back to try out some more dishes.
Mel
Good but not amazing. Stuffed mushrooms are actually just deep fried mushrooms. Good curry, roti and pad thai. Cheap booze, fun fit out
Dan
This place shows a lot of promise. Really good fish cakes (which are so easy to make rubbery and crap if you don't do it right) and fresh tasting main dishes (great Massaman Curry!). Wouldn't hurt to add a bit of heat to the dishes, chili-wise. We can take it! But really nice people running it, and hopefully it keeps improving and does really well. The street really needs good Thai food. Also if you guys read this can you please make a papaya salad? That would be rad.
Gustavo Heisenberg
Im a massive fan of traditional thai cuisine & this place does it as good as anywhere in Melbourne. Perfect flavour combinations and ingredients! 1 or 2 more staff on the floor might help keep the fussy clientele smiling but who cares...the food is amazing!
KN
Really average 80s style food - no creativity- great for teenagers with no taste buds
Vicky Nicholls
Disappointed! After reading the reviews here we expected more. The food wasn't bad but it was very average. Friendly service but don't think we'll go back.
Jasonb
Cool place, bland food. Cool setting, nice vibe, good service, cheap drinks. Only problem is the food is a little bland. Could be spicier but also just more flavorsome. We had fish cakes, Penang chicken and chilli basil seafood stir fry. Not enough chili or basil.
Mic
Vegetarian meal with seafood /meat flavouring em????. Im local, vegan and vegetarian and feeling delighted with our newest thai cafe, but all our vegetarian meal yesterday taste like have been tampered with seafood or meat flavouring, when we question the waiter just smile and walk away...
and what a awful music been played at this cafe, where is good thai music????

wont be back again.....feel very dispointed alright...
JH
Excellent local Thai place - my new fav. great service very nice folks & the food is fresher than any Thai I've had this side of Phuket. Highly recommend the tofu salad, green prawn curry & yes those fish cakes are a winner.
Amanda
Great to have a new Thai place in Thornbury. We had the Pad Thai, Thai Fish Cakes and BBQ Pork. All really delicious and the drinks are super cheap. The fit out is also great, bamboo booths and Thai movie posters all round. Will definitely go back.
Shane Brown
Ok so I've only just had my entree - Thai Fish Cakes - but I'm already a huge fan. Service is superb, free flowing (free) wine and I'm sitting in a freaken Tiki hut (which really isn't all that Tiki, but really reminiscent of those roadside huts in thailand with the woman that does the cooking and the food is amazing and it's like 20 baht a dish and the best goddamn dish you've ever had)
Anyway my food is here now. Shane out.
