Have driven past this place and after being refused entry to Welcome to Thornbury as they won't allow kids after 8pm (what a joke it's a food truck park in a filthy old car yard) we were delighted to try Mamma Pita. Unlike many other greek/souvlaki restaurants, we were greeted with a smile and fed good quality food that was well prepared, fresh and well presented. We had open plate souvlakia as well as wrapped ones and my vego daughter thought the halloumi souvlaki was a winner. Will go back and try the rest of the menu that looked good. Good table service, nice decor and well priced. A standout in the northern suburbs.

Ordered a variety of dishes from the menu to share with a friend. Food was cooked to perfection and waiter (George) was very helpful in assisting us in deciding what do eat.

As per previous reviews the casual "cafe" layout does not reflect the outstanding quality of food and service.

You must try the donuts.

My partner chose this place to eat tonight. I had my doubts. Bottom line: she was right, I was completely wrong. This is a Greek cafe essentially. A very lively cafe indeed. The decor is modern. There’s inside and some outside seating. I was excited to see that a number of the customers seemed to be of Greek nationality. It has a good feel here.

We were served quickly. Our server was efficient and affable and ordering was easy. We were simply astonished at the quality of the food when it arrived. I’m not sure where to start. The stuffed calamari was amazing. As tender as I’ve ever experienced it. You could cut it like butter. The pita bread too was a triumph. So soft and superbly grilled. I’ve never had better. The three mixed dips were beauties - eggplant, tzatziki, tarama - again, and I’m sorry to repeat myself, but they were as good as I’ve ever tasted them anywhere. The saganaki too was an absolute cracker. Soft, salty and brim full of flavour. The mixed grill platter for two was astonishing as well. It’s huge and generous and could have been for four people not two. It was chock full of beautiful meat, chips, sausage, salad and other assorted goodies. And finally, the anatolitiki salad - pomegranate seeds, mixed greens, capsicum, cucumber, walnuts, dill and pomegranate molasses - was a delicious triumph. We sat back inspired after this feast. The quality and size of the dishes was amazing.

I’m not sure you could do better than this in a cafe atmosphere. We loved every single dish. The sizes were also very generous. The service was warm and efficient throughout as well. Overall, the cost was modest too. What else could you possibly want? I don’t say this lightly, but the experience was as close to being in Greece as I’ve experienced outside of that country. We’ve been there several times including certain isles and loved it including the food and generous hospitality. This experience at Mamma Pita was in that league. It’s that good.

A great place to definitely check out when looking to enjoy tasty greek food! My husband and I ordered the mixed meats platter for 2 and it was delicious..good variety of meats which had really nice flavours. The size of the platter was just enough, not too much, perfect amount for 2 people and at a very resonable price. On top of this, the restaurant had a cool, relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. Will be back for sure...highly recommended! :)

Food was awesome, one of the best places I've been for greek. The smoked eggplant dip was delicious as was the fish roe. Loved all the meats. We went in restaurant month so huge discount & byo wine is a winner. We ordered a little bit much, but was so delicious we ate the majority of it. Indication from staff about reasonable amounts would be helpful.,Atmosphere was on the noisier side, but fine.

One of the best Greek dining experience I’ve had. Food was great, tasty but not too salty as usual greek food. Portion was generous and well presented. Staff were really friendly and attentive but a bit distracted during busy times so you might need to be patient if going there in peak hours.

Dined here last night, wonderful atmosphere with lovely staff and great food. We ordered the BBQ platter and calamari - both dishes were delicious. It was exactly what we wanted - fresh and full of flavour!!!! The dips and salad dressing were very unique and tasty.

Staff are engaging and open to any feedback, they are finding their place at the moment and are mixing things up on the menu - excited to see what this place will do!!!!

Beautiful fresh food and welcoming top service ! Very glad I decided to eat dinner here and I'll be back , highly recommend to all ! Satisfying Greek food in a relaxed dining space. There is a wide selection available on the menu, including a set menu option that would be good for groups. The lamb was not as good as the chicken gyro, I found it a little tough. Service was a little slow however the price and overall serving sizes are good for the area.

We had dinner on Saturday night and couldn’t believe the goldmine of a place we happened upon!! We shared a platter and where absolutely blown away by how much food was brought out and also the great quality of the food. I would definitely recommend finishing the meal with the Nutella loukoumades they were delicious We will definitely be back!
