Were nice enough to make me a special smoothie that suited my many food intolerances. It was delicious too. Friendly service.

😱Lizzie’s first impression: Great seating area, the most lovely staff and a great simple brunch menu.

🍩Lizzie enjoyed: I sometimes drive past and see this massive four beans café sign and I finally had the chance to try. The food was surprisingly delicious. I had a lamb salad which was cooked well and had a perfect combo of meat and salad ratio. The juices here are so fresh and delicious - got myself a berry flavoured one and it was spot on. The scrambled eggs on toast with bacon was the most delicious dish I tried. The bacon was crispy and the scrambled eggs was cooked perfectly.

🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: I also treated myself to some delicious French toast that was delicious especially with the custard topping and although aesthetically, it didn’t look as pleasing as the other dishes, but the taste was spot on.

🥇Lizzie rates overall: loved this café so much especially because theres ample of seating area and no staff to push me away as soon as I’m done with my meal.

We were invited to Four Beans today which is a massive warehouse style space roasters and cute cafe with a really homely ambiance about it. The staff were warm and welcoming and obviously very passionate about coffee. They roast on site and you can also see lots of the traditional equipment used historically which is fun for the Melbournian coffee buff.

Today we tried the smashed avocado, chilli scrambled with a side of avo and the nourish bowl. All enjoyable dishes and mine had a perfectly poached egg. We also checked out the dessert cabinet which boasted a wide array of sweet treats the majority of which were handmade and vegan. We really struggled to choose but settled on a chocolate brownie, peanut butter gingerbread cookie sandwich and a raw date coconut and seeds bar, yum!

Four Beans is not just an amazing cafe delivering delicious food, they also produce their own coffee, Beraldo Coffee. A lovely, smooth blend; the coffee is sensational. This cafe is a massive space on the outer edges of the centre of Northcote, but it still feels warm and inviting. Lots of quirky touches add some personality to the room, and there is a lovely, sunny courtyard for when the weather is good.

I found the staff and service to be impeccable, and they were very knowledgeable about their coffee and menu, which always is a bonus. We started with chilli scramble, and this dish was so full of flavour. Delicious eggs with the perfect amount of heat and spice, and the candied bacon was a delicious touch. I really enjoyed the combinations of flavours and found it very satisfying.

The French toast was amazing as it used pain au chocolat as it's base

Four Beans is not only just a cafe but they also produce their own coffee under Beraldo Coffee, and supply to many businesses too. The cafe is a bit of a mini museum with giant machinery for grinding beans in the centre and smaller ones on display. And the coffee of course taste delicious!. The French Toast was prepared perfectly with very traditional flavour and nothing extravagant. It was very satisfying to have it made simply.

3.5 Four Beans is a 30+ year old roasters turned cafe, churning out amazing coffees with beautiful latte art. While the coffee was predictably top notch, the food menu was safe and unsurprising. The presentation though, definitely needs more work to meet the standards Melbournians have come to expect.

A warm local cafe with a coffee of history. ☕

It was a chilly lazy Sunday afternoon when we visited this place. First impression was the layout - refreshing yet you can see the passion for coffee all around this place. We literally spent hours here, just talking and hanging out. Time flew without a pause.

A coffee and a juice down and we're good to go with the food.

Eggs Benedict, BB and a Smashed Avo, all were a great choice and massive portions, we couldn't finish! Me being a hash brown person, I would have loved to see a hash brown in the Big Breakfast, but hey, I couldn't even finish, so why am I asking for more! 😅 Check out our photos for a reference.

Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a place to hang out, chill, study or just even to enjoy the company of your friends over a cup of coffee.

Good stuff! 😁

Expanding their coffee roastery into a cafe, Four Beans Cafe are no stranger to the industry. Owner Paul Beraldo also owns Beraldo Coffee - a leading coffee supplier in Melbourne. Sourcing their coffee beans from all over the world, they specialise in the highest quality organic and fair trade coffee beans. Their passion is undeniable, with various specialty grinding equipment on display throughout the venue, and a dedicated space in the centre of the cafe within which the coffee roaster is located. Their other roastery is located in Heidelberg, enabling them to keep up with their increasingly popular demand.

The menu at Four Beans Cafe focuses on seasonal produce used in all-day breakfast and lunch dishes concocted by the chefs, with a slant towards French and European cuisine thanks to one of the chef's French background. On Bastille Day, French colours draped a few reserved tables in the dining area, in addition to a couple of French specials on the menu.

For a simple breakfast or lunch, the Toasted Zucchini Loaf is house made, served with a tomato chutney, free range poached eggs, fire roasted capsicum dip, watercress and toasted seeds. The zucchini loaf remains light, yet with sufficient density to fill up a lightly hungry stomach.

The B.L.A.T. Open Sandwich is more filling, served as a single slice of herbed foccacia bread, generously topped with crispy bacon, cos lettuce, avocado and tomato, complimented by a tomato relish and seeds. A 'sandwich' best eaten with a knife and fork, but you will have no regrets once the plate is empty!

Their Bastille Day specials included a Croque Monsieur and a Crepe Suzette, the latter of which is perfectly cooked, drenched in a cointreau sauce that will satisfy any crepe-loving sweet tooth.

As expected, the coffee is deliciously aromatic, with the staff's expert knowledge helpful on advising which milk to pair it with. The almond latte uses Milklab almond milk, whose nutty flavour smoothly balances out, and brings out, the earthy coffee bean taste.
Desserts are proudly on display in their glass cabinet, supplied by a local specialty baker, whose offerings mostly consist of vegan, nut-free and/or gluten-free cakes, slices and cookies. Tasting a couple of these, I can confidently vouch for their unique quality in tasting exactly the same as, if not better than, their nut, gluten and dairy-filled counterparts.

Four Beans Cafe is definitely worth a visit - perfect for bringing your family or grandparents for a relaxed Sunday lunch or afternoon tea.

Came across this cafe through the EatClub app as I was search for a great deal off my brunch. This cafe has a really cute interior and is very spacious!
I order the French toast which was everything I wanted and my mum has the omelette which she added spinach and mushrooms to with pumpkin toast on the side! The coffees were great as well and had cute latte art on them.
Excited to return to try more dishes!

Four Beans is a tranquil and cosy place to enjoy some wind down time. The nice selection of 70-80’s music and the gorgeous interior, set a great mood.
The food was presentable and you could taste the chefs passion flowing through the meal.
The staff are friendly, attentive and presented great humour. I couldn’t ask for a better stop off while on break. I will be returning to this gem!

This is one of my regular cafes. Beraldo coffee is always on point. I have sampled most of the vegetarian menu - veg breakfast, smashed avo, breakfast pudding, and risotto are all good. The superfood salad is my fave. The chef Patrick is very talented and always has a joke and a smile. This is also a really great cafe if you need a place to write or study, as they are very accomodating to having people spend some time and it is very spacious. The conference room would be great for a writers, book, or study group. Awesome local cafe!

A deceptively large place considering everything around it is so small. Four Bean houses in the middle of the cafe a coffee machine on steroids which is entertaining for the kids.

We had a mini business gig in the back area where we had some privacy - alas not quiet enough.

Food was good but not brilliant.

Service was fast and the menu is simple fare.

Good seating outside for those warmer months.

Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Good parking if you look hard.

Btw - this isn’t in he main Westgarth shops it’s a bit further south off the service road.

Enjoy.

We get our coffee from four beans every week, and the service here is fantastic. They make a great coffee which is always HOT! (So sick of warm coffee) . The breakfast is always nice, scrambled eggs are not laden with butter which is refreshing.
Muffins here are a MUST try if you drop in for a coffee.

Great coffee and food. The service was very good and was friendly. I can highly recommend this cafe to my friends. It now has a liquor license which adds to the requirements for a tasty lunch with your friends. Well done to all concerned especially the staff at Four Beans Cafe.

Found this place tucked away in "Little High" street (just passed Westgarth Street)  near the Cannons. Chef does a great job I had the Wagu Beef Burger with one of their freshly made juices followed by the best short black I have had in a long time, apparently they roast on premises and are serving a "Fair Trade"" blend of Coffee, service is great, plenty of room to move around comfy tables and chairs out front they are also doggy friendly with a mat and drinking water for the pooch, they even have a function room tucked away behind their Coffee Roasting Machine. Mum's with Kids are made welcome as they have a play room tucked away,  parking is a bit of a problem but plenty of access via public transport, definitely worth exploring, I'll be back to try the Big Breakfast the Menu above is not correct and has been replaced and the new range looks great, I'll take more pictures on my next visit

We heard about the existence of Tiramisu Pancakes and simply HAD to try them.
In an effort not to be boring, my friend ordered the French Toast so we didn't both order the same thing.
Firstly: the coffee was delightful. Possibly the best roast I've had in Melbourne.
The pancakes were the thick type, sort of like mini sponge cakes. Tbh, that's not my particular taste when it comes to pancakes; I want flatter things that soak up all the liquid around them. The coffee + ricotta mix was great, as well as the chocolate sauce.
I have to admit though: the French Toast was better! The consistency of the egg-soaked-bread was wayyyy better than the pancakes. If they made both dishes have a baby and made Tiramisu French Toast, I would die with happiness.
Also, must say, we were shocked that the place was empty. It's a great location, great service, great fit-out, great food. Hopefully if more people instagram the pancakes it will get people venturing a bit further down High St.

Wow - what a treat of a place in Northcote!
The coffee is roasted in house which is a great touch, and the baristas clearly know how to make a mean latte.
The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is delicious and the feel of the cafe is relaxed but classy.
The front courtyard is dog friendly, and we had a lovely Sunday brunch.
Will be visiting again!

4 beans is a misnomer, as their staff are always full of beans !

Bean there 4 times myself 3 breakfast and 1 lunch and have enjoyed it all.
Their coffee machine is awesome as is their coffee l believe the machine can even controls the barista:-)

Can't wait to be there on the day their in-cafe bean roaster is in full blast. The aroma must be overwhelming.

Brought to you by Beraldo Coffee, Four Beans cafe is new to the scene and has hit the ground running.
The interior and decor has an industrial feel but it is softened by greenery, light coloured wood and a lot of natural light.
Numerous eating/drinking spaces both outside and in, provide multiple options depending on your situation - there is even a meeting room at the rear of the cafe, perfect for your next office meeting!
In the heart of the cafe stands a fully transparent, glass room with an operating coffee roaster which allows you to watch the process in real time. This is complimented by a lovely selection of antique/vintage coffee roasters and a great use of the hessian coffee bags throughout.
The food selection is superb with a great range and prices from just $10 (from the cabinet) up to $22 (from the kitchen.) There are a large number of vegetarian/gluten free options and the ability to turn many vegan on request.

I drink soy milk coffee which is often hit and miss (and I know is difficult for barristers) - this was one of the best soy cappuccinos I've ever had and was the perfect temperature. On enquiry I was advised they use Vitasoy milk which I fully commend as they are an Australian company who only use locally grown, organic, non GM, soy beans meaning there is no deforestation, no nasties, a smaller environmental footprint and keeps business in Australia. It's much better than the imported version which I won't mention and it's great to see one Australian company supporting another.

The staff were all super friendly and very accommodating to my dietary requirements (vegan) and the fact that I had a small child with me.

I would absolutely come here again and encourage anyone passing by to give it a try. It's great to see an Australian coffee company doing so well and I'm super impressed to see this first time venture get it so right from off set.

My only criticism is a lack of parking due to the location but there are spots available in the side street and it's directly opposite a tram stop and bike path so it's easily accessible to other types of commuters.
