Very tasty late night souvlaki. Sometimes have stuffed pepper and sausages too.
The place itself is incredibly outdated and hasn’t had a lick of paint since it opened, chalkboard menu, artificial grapes decor etc. but the actual souvlaki is delicious. Dolmades out of a can, great pickled octopus
EDITED DUE TO MANAGEMENT REPLY. Went and checked out the new layout. Much better. Still poorly lit but has a much better vibe. Better looking menu. Received my souvlaki in record time and was delicious. 3 to a 4 :)
Yes/no? Yes
If you are here for a late night kebab feed, this place is good.
Lambs looks like a very rushed, old kebab place but the kebabs itself are delicious. The meat was tender and the chips are crispy.
Best souva I’ve had for a while. Lamb is cooked on charcoal and tastes great. Tarama is fantastic. Other dips are really good too. Very affordable prices and the staff are friendly too. Definitely going back. My new favourite souvlaki place.
I love the lamb and the dolmades are great as well. The meat is just too good to pass up if you’re craving a kebab and the staff are quite friendly.
Great food, attentive service and very family friendly! Pricing reasonable and good value for money. Family owned business at its best. Great job guys! Will definitely be back 😉
A kebab franchise found all over Melbourne for consistently juicy and tasty kebabs. The Northcote outlet has an awesome kitsch restaurant attached and was featured in the last season of Please Like Me (great show!).

Always a great go to for authentic souvlaki, large serving size and relatively quick service
Our first take at greek food here in Melbourne. Good Food and good prices. Couldn't fault it. The lamb cooked on charcoal is so nice. You can smell it from the street. Definitely going back.
What's not to like? grilled meat, souvlaki, dips and marinated things. A pleasant very casual dining experience but I have to say one of the best chicken I have had in years.
Meat is tender and treated respectfully making for mouth watering enjoyment. Fresh warm bread with some dip is never to be dismissed as they are very enjoyable.
If you can't find anywhere to eat because you didn't make a booking or running late to see your band at the Northcote social club, then here is the place to come.
Nothing special, but that's not why you eat at Lambs. Above average food, meat is cooked on charcoal which makes it super tasty, but the service is average. Takeaway dips are awesome, much better than the packet stuff from the super market.
Souvlaki's are always consistent at Lambs. Go to place after the Northcote Social or the Peacock. Things usually move quick in here so you won't have to wait long after ordering and the price is pretty cheap for what you're getting.
Best Souvlaki in Melbourne.. Haven't found a better souvlaki in Melbourne. 10/10 would eat again. Don't believe the haters.
!!!. Amazing! mouthwatering souvlaki, the best I've had (my dad agrees and he is hard to please). fast service and extremely reasonably priced!
Warm food and atmosphere. I really enjoyed eating here the souvlaki was extremely tasty and I had a baklava it was sooo good! Will definitely eat there again!!! It makes you feel very full aswell which is what I loved.
Eat here once a fortnight with friends, always get the mixed meat platter, salad, chips sausage etc... Never disappointed, meat is always tender and tasty.
Still fatty after all those years. When I was relatively new to Australia in 2006, I got a lamb souva from the Lamb's on Chapel. I was aware of their reputation as one of Melbourne's old-line Greek sanger joints, and I wanted to see what Lamb's was all about. What I remembered most about that Lamb's was the gobbets of fat in the souvlaki. I've eaten lots of souvlakis, gyros (as they're called in America) and donairs (the Canadian word for that sanger.) NONE of them had as much inedible fat as Lamb's souvas did.
I found myself hungry and afoot in Northcote the other night and spotted this Lamb's. Against my head's better judgment, my stomach decided to give the biz another squizz. The grilling meat smelled so good! And it was still so fatty! Different location, seven years later after I ate my first Lamb's souva, yet I still spat out four chunks of gristle that I couldn't chew. And I have teeth like a Top End croc's. The most I had to spit in Canada was two, and souva spots in other English-speaking nations rarely gag me with me more than one. Lamb's recipe is rusted on, eh?
I still give this joint a thumb's-up, because the meat was tasty and there was plenty on my $11 souva. Nice char on some edges, decent oregano and garlic flavours throughout. I got off cheap, too, at $14.50 for the souva, a can of Coke and a baklava triangle. I think the counter bloke (who gave decent service, not as bad as other reviewers have whinged) forgot to charge me for something sugary. Sweeeeet.
Not bad. Meat wasn't grisly like other reviews, though I did buy my kebab at 11am for my hangover cure. It was good, but I have no craving to go back, like say Friends Kebabs.
Mmm Whats For Dinner

Happy I ignored the negative comments. Food is great home style quality greek food at cheap prices. Been grabbing Souvlakia (not kebab - kebabs do not come from greece!!!) from there for a few years and they are always spot on!. Thought tonight we would sit in a give the Mousaka a crack (had a craving). It was actually really tasty and up there with my Yiayia's. We also had a horiatiki salad, some pita breads and little platter of lamb giros. The food was well seasoned as Greek food is. Couldn't really fault any of it. We nearly didn't sit in to try from the menu after reading some of the comments. Quite happy we chose to ignored them.
Value for money. I know where these guys buy their lamb from. I guarantee you they only use lamb, not mutton like most other kebab shops. The shop looks dated but the quality and price of food makes up for it. I'm a regular customer....
A kebab from lambs is so tasty and messy. Maybe a bit like life. You have such a mix of love, desire, excitement and a tinge of guilt. Great spot.
Great food, staff could be nicer. I often go here to grab a kebab on my way home and to eat in with friends. not a fantastic atmosphere to eat in and the blank staff don't help much either, overall though, great kebab!
Everything a souvlaki should be, when you have a bunch of older Greek men working the grill, doing what their forefathers taught them, then you no it's going to be good
Epitome of souvlaki. The Lambs brand certainly know how to make souvlaki. If i'm hankering for a souva and i'm in Northote, there's no exception other than Lambs
Great souvalaki full of flavour and quality meat. Love the pita bread and the lemon juice squeezed over it before it's wrapped.
Best Greek food in Northcote. Don’t waste your time with others down the road.
Quality souvlaki and very tasty. Also good portions. Other places cheap out on the meat. These guys don’t. Dine in or take away, it’s both awesome. Service is great by all and special mention to Klalib who has been working there for years is also a top guy who always provides awesome service.
I love this place, best original SOUVLAKI in town and also the most flavorsome chips you will ever eat , they also sell retsina in a small bottle, or a thirst clenching VB, enjoy a relaxed dine in experience. Yia sou. They have dropped the ball a bit with my last 2 visits so have to downgrade them to a 4.
LOVE the mixed Traditional Souvlaki ( Lamb & Chicken) . taste really yum and juicy w the sauces 😚
