Review 300 Grams - Northcote

God Tier snacks. 12 months ago the smash didn't wow me but by gosh today it was perfection. Fresh salad. Soft buns. Crispy juicy beef. Shadi and Wally you boys are legends.

300 Grams.. what can say other than I am really really disappointed! I honestly thought 300 Grams looked legit but, the food looked like the real deal when I Googled them and looked at the images uploaded by 300 Grams, hmm unfortunately that doesn't reflect my experience at all.. Almost $15 for a Chicken Burger that barely had anything in it.. Pickles were extra $ which is fine but, the Southern Fried Chicken was almost non existent, I have literally had thicker slices of cheese in Burgers before, I was looking forward to trying everything on the menu at 300 Grams but now, to be honest, I feel like I just got ripped.. that was a massive turn off, its a shame because the flavours were there, although I can't really tell you what the Chicken tasted like because there wasn't enough in the Sandwich to even taste it.. I am sorry to say that I don't really recommend 300 Grams due to the massive disappointment, I just bought a expensive Burger/Chicken Sandwich and I t didn't even touch the sides..

Had the 300 g double patty with bacon chicken bites and chips. While the burger itself was just ok the chicken bites were exceptional ! The chips were also rather nice. Overall a little disappointment as I had high hopes for this place and came here for a cheat meal.

The Hot Bird with the Southern fried mushrooms is the best vegetarian burger I have had in my life. These guys are so consistent, my family all have their fave burgers from here, the non-meat options are fantastic, and the sweet potato fries are to die for. My fave burger joint in the whole city.

They will definitely have one of the best burgers I have ever tasted in my life. I can literally eat them every single day. If only I can put 100 stars on here, I would. They have plenty of staff as well and are very nice.

Chips were really good, but the burger (free bird) was about as enjoyable as a chicken snack burger from maccas. The chicken wasn't even crispy, and so little for the buns size. Can't say I'm sold on the place unfortunately although the staff were nice.

Every experience here has been great, whether by Uber eats or pick up. Their free range chicken burger is light yet filling, full of flavour and crisp, it’s my go to. Staff are friendly which is a bonus too! 🍔

Best burgers by far. Service was amazing. Such great team work by the owner and staff. Will be back again. Their special hot sauce is great

One of if not the best Burger restaurants in Melbourne. Great quality food and elite service. They also cater to everyone with vegetarian and vegan alternatives.

Particularly love their smashed beef patties and their Mac Fries!
Burgers were a bit tasteless and bread was soggy.

As a vegetarian, this is the best burger I've ever had. Veg pattie is delicious, bun is soft without being as sweet as a brioche bun and the sauce is glorious. Definitely recommend the Hot Bird sauce for the chips. Highly recommended.

Ordered three times from this place, first was correct, second and third orders I was given beef burgers when ordered and paid surcharge for vegetarian burgers. First time they messed up I had to go back and get replacements myself, second time I had enough, threw it out and requested a refund by Uber eats. Vegetarians be careful, check before you bite as they can’t seem to get it right! Very very disappointed.

The beef patties, tastewise, were comparable to a McDonalds beef patty. I recommend getting two patties as they are quite thin. The fried chicken was good quality chicken with a rather average seasoning. The chips were also nothing special.

The restaurant itself was narrow with limited seating. I found it rather odd that once you are seated inside you have to go back outside to order.

I’m happy I tried, but not sure I would return or recommend.

Tip: If you want to take a photo of your burger, hold it.

We ordered 8 burgers just now via ubereats and only 7 burgers arrived. We contacted the restaurant to notify that they had missed the fish burger in the order and they told us that they are about to close and basically that because it’s via Uber eats it’s not their problem. Absolutely disgusting. At a time when we’re trying to support local businesses with covid and they’re total dicks about stuffing up our order so one of us goes hungry tonight. Unfortunate because the food that we did get was nice. Unless we get any sort of recognition or compensation for the money that we just spent for no actual product received, we will certainly be sure that everyone we know is aware of the way that this restaurant functions. Worst experience we’ve had with a restaurant in many years.

Absolutely love the burgers at 300 grams. They always have the best flavour and the best service!

First experience with 300 grams tonight. Phone order. Advised that in 15 minutes the two burgers would be ready to pick up. Arrived as scheduled and waited another half an hour.
Both burgers were then cold. the 300g burger was squashed and poorly assembled. Not appealing. Chicken burger was somewhat better but still cold. Disappointing experience. There were a large number of people waiting patiently outside for a similar time, maybe there was a problem in the kitchen?

Awesome burgers and great hot chips too. The Southern Fried Chicken burger was delicious and fresh without feeling heavy and greasy like a lot of them are. Good size and we'll priced too. Will definitely be back

Just feeling ripped off. Ordered the 300gram burger. Expecting a big patty - 300grams is a lot. Was surprised how small and light the package was, so I weighed it. The whole burger was 266g.

Smash patties were cooked perfectly. Quality and clean burger, hardly any grease. Big Mac fries were delicious. Highly recommend

Burger was ok , Nothin to rave about.
Fries, cauli and chick bites were very good

We have lost 1090 burger on Rucker’s Hill a while ago now but 300 grams has taken its place, good burger !!!

The burgers here were reminiscent of the infamous Laurie Dee’s smash patty burgers which automatically means they were good. Only criticism I have (and I’m being very picky here) is that the 300 G sauce was overpowering at times in the burger. But then again, it wasn’t even a big problem. Also the fries were great. Needed a bit more salt but nonetheless they were still a 9/10. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good burger joint in the northern suburbs. I’ll be back again when I’m in need of a quality feed.

Order burguer and fries for delivery from Uber Eats. Pretty standard order. No fries delivered. By the docket, kitchen got the order correctly. Front of house staff who put the order through messed up...

Cute burger joint with different meat options also plant protein option for vegetarians and vegans.

I tried the delish fish the bun was super sweet, the fish fillet was massive with a nice crunchy batter with plenty of flavour.

My husband ordered the cheeseburger which he really liked (coming from someone that doesnt usually like burgers)

Can't wait to try the protein burger options next time.

They sell mustard sandwiches, not burgers, so don't expect to taste anything else but overpowering acid.

Great burgers place looks pretty alright I had a beef burger which was full of taste and a chicken one as well prefer the beef over the chicken more flavour
#BMAfavourites this gorgeous burger from @300.grams is definitely something to write home about! With a smashed patty using high quality beef, it’s juicy, fatty, tasty goodness - you’ll savour every bite!!

I got the bacon burger and fries. The fries, first of all, were DELISH! They were perfectly seasoned, hot and tasty. The burger was ok, I found each bite of the burger was overwhelmingly filled with the lettuce and tomato and I could barely taste the super thin beef patty, bacon or cheese. This is unfortunate as I can see the potential but the burger just didn’t live up to expectations. I’d recommend getting perhaps a double patty if you actually want to taste the meat, however, you shouldn’t have to do this to taste a burger. There also is really little seating, especially if you’re with 2 or more people.

I’m looking forward to coming back and try their non-beef burgers and see if the experience is the same.

A totally delicious burger. The cheese burger has a yummy soft bun, a perfectly charred patty and the tastiest sauces ever. So yum.

The shop itself looked very nice yet immediately after eating the free range burger and chips, my boyfriend and I experienced vomiting and food poisoning for 3 days after. Very shocked with this. Would not recommend it to anyone, and would not go back. The chicken was not cooked properly.
Nice burger. It's all there. Some may find too much char on the pattie but I was okay with it. The burger is definitely a decent size although the pattie is thin. You can upgrade though and add more if you want. Good idea to have buns without sesame seeds as some people do have allergies. The ordering area is a little confusing for first timers. It's natural to walk right in but you kind of have to order outside. Squeaky clean inside but a tight space none the less. Great to have a decent burger joint on High St now that Ribs and Burgers at the Plaza have disappeared. This place will do well.

Visited on their opening celebration day. Even though they gave away hundreds of burgers, they didn't miss a beat, were very friendly, and fulfilled the orders very quickly. The proof is in bun, and let me tell you – if they keep this up, they will rank in the top 5 in Melbourne.

Their chicken sandwich was unlike any I've ever had – it was crispy, puffy, and extremely flavoursome. If you sit and watch them prepare it, they individually cut fresh pieces of chicken breast and lovingly bash them into a thin layer, ready to be smothered in the amazing crumb. Needless to say, I loved every bite.

Their beef cheeseburger was impeccable. The crust on the hand-pressed patties was perfect and there was a deep beefy flavour – as there should be. Each ingredient was a perfect symphony, layering flavour upon flavour. The generous layer of Westmont pickles was a major highlight.

I will be back.

High Street Northcote is slowly becoming a vegan food haven and 300 Grams is contributing to the cause. Nearly everything on their menu can be made vegan, including the beef, chicken and cheeseburgers and sundaes. The sides of chips and fried cauliflower are also naturally vegan.

The beef is made with mock meat while the chicken is fried mushroom, which isn't really a stand-in for chicken imo but I didn't try it, so can't vouch for or against. My cheeseburger, however, I can get behind 100%. Both the party and cheese were incredibly "convincing". The burger was fresh and full of veg and the perfect amount of sauce.

I also loved the cauliflower bites, which had a taste and crumb that reminded me of Vietnamese salt and pepper tofu. The sweet potato chips are also great. Save some for after your meal, as their delicious dipped in the coconut soft serve sundae.

I really love the fact that the shop stocks solely healthy beverages including kombucha and sugar-free, naturally sweetened colas. Pro-tip: Pour some into your sundae to make your own spider 🙌

A new burger joint in Northcote that also sells the usual sides (chips, fried cauli bites, etc.) as well as sundae for dessert. The place does not have huge room but has an open kitchen where you can watch the staff cook your meal. The burgers were nice and you can have single or double patties. However, I think they could have used better/different buns as I found their buns to be not so matching with the rest of the ingredients.
