Danny's Thai has been on the Parade for a long time. The food is nice enough, flavours are tasty and traditional and lots of selections available on the menu. Plenty of seating available and prices are good. Don't expect anything super fancy, but for a mid week meal or Friday night outing in winter when you don't want to cook then this is the place to go.
Food is always very nice and fresh. Lunch menu is great, but if you get it take away you can't get the special, which is then a little bit pricey. Quick and friendly service.
I love it here! I always suggest this place to my friends and I wish I could eat here every night. Dishes cooked perfectly. The coconut rice is to DIE for. I'll be coming back again and again.
Beautiful flavours and great service. First time here in years and and it didn't disappoint. Everyone loved their meals, the prices were very reasonable and the staff were very helpful.
This place has definitely improved over the last few years probably due to the many Thai restaurants it now competes with. The Moreton Bay Bug entree was a great dish as was the laksa soup and believe me I'm fussy about my laksa! Biggest disappointment at our table was the noodle dish which was overloaded with sauce. Not sure it's authentic Thai but it does have some memorable dishes that I would go back for.
Absolutely the best Thai restaurant in the southern hemisphere, friendly staff, great food! Will definitely recommend to my colleagues and will come back here later!
Great food, great proportions. Really enjoyed the banquet we had together. The spring rolls and the lamb curry were amazing. Will definitely go back again, hopefully very soon
Pad Thai here was really good. Their serving sizes are pretty big and great value for money. A nice atmosphere too but can get pretty loud on a friday or sat night.
Great family dinner. Took the family to meet friends found it warm and friendly, great flavours, good value, it was a busy night great place to catch up..
Amazing service, fabulous food and a lovely atmosphere. What more could you want?
Absolutely love Danny's, their red curry and Krappel noodles are amazing. We've been going there 1-2 a month for the last few months. Only let down is the sometimes shabby service and the emphasis of jamming as many people as possible in instead of worrying about the comfort of the patrons. Hasn't stopped us going there though.
Great food, wine and atmosphere. Service was prompt and attentive. Would recommend
For casual Thai dining this is a good place. Like the food. For a hungry soul like me today, the food had come to rescue in a snap. Can't ask for a quicker service.
Beautiful food. Efficient service and just a generally lovely experience. We will return.
Came here for dinner on recommendation of a friend, never thought much of this place, but was pleasantly surprised by quality food and service.
I ordered the chilly duck breast with steamed veggies and it was awesome!!! I love my veggies and Danny's did them well, not over cooked, lightly seasoned and not swimming in oil or thick syrup. The dish was light, delicious and filling. The duck breast was tender and juicy. Would recommend and will come here again. I'm a big fan of restaurants that can alter menu items to your preference, and Danny sure did accommodate my request.
I love Danny's Thai. Whenever I've been here, it's always been relatively quiet - usually midweek for an early dinner, or lunch during my holidays.
The food is excellent. It is tasty, authentic, and is served in generous proportions. If you're dining with friends, the staff are happy to provide you with extra plates so everyone can try a bit of everything that you order. Food is served reasonably quickly.
Well-priced for a decent meal. My only complaint (and this is minor) is that we're always unsure about whether there is table service or not. I think there is, but the staff could perhaps be a little more attentive.
Otherwise, this is a great dining experience!
Visited Danny's for a 'quick early dinner'. I had prawn patties to start and mixed seafood stirfry for main whilst my partner had a thai green curry. The food was so delicious and service good. Wine OK. Great value for money. Would highly recommend the thai green curry!
Quick, no fuss thai. Quick service, delicious simple thai food.
Couldn't ask for more really!. Last night was the first time we've been to Danny's on a proper weekend-night, having been on and off weekdays over the years, and turns out our meal was much better because of it. The bistro was pumping (but quite loud if you don't like such 'ambiance') and the service was fast and friendly. The best dish of the night was an entree of miang kam (prawns, shredded coconut etc wrapped in a leaf) - I could have ordered several more plates and happily eaten these all night! Mains of crocodile and mixed seafood (again off the specials list) were both lovely as well. Rice at $2.7 is a bit steep but I guess this helps cover the really good-value mains prices :) Danny's doesn't have much in the way of frills and polish but it does provide the goods food and drink-wise, so what more could you want in a bistro? We'll definitely be returning next time a movie at Hoyts beckons. 8.5/10
Good....Sometimes. We are locals and have been here a few times. Sometimes its good, other times its just ok, never bad....but never wow either. We prefer Madame Wu's but still come here occasionally as even tho they are both Thai, their dishes are different in textures and flavours. Im a lover of Madame's Choo Chee Chicken and Danny's is nice but Madame's is the winner for me. But its a nice enought restaurant and the service has always been friendly.
Had a group girls catch up dinner last night, with myself and another friend never having been here before. Rumors of amazing food are true!! Meals quick to come out, friendly attentive service, can certainly understand why this place would get packed! And they do takeaway....so....its yes, one of those places where you say you'll definitely be back....and I will!
Fantastic. Very reliable for a great time, dine in an take away. Authentic Thai food with the best spring rolls in town. Surprisingly cheap and quick. Highly recommend it.
Quick Meal. One of my favourites places in Norwood, can always come past and get a great Thai curry and rice.
Dishes always taste the same, which is Great!
Thai Green curry and rice, you cant go wrong.
Best laksa I've ever had. Dumplings were amazing too. Not much ambience and ok service. Can't fault the food at all though.
Banquet #1 was great. Service was excellent and even asked if we wanted any of the dishes topped up. Never had that anywhere before. Will certainly go back.
Thai Green Chicken Curry!. All I want to say is om nom nom nom nom!
This has to be one of the best restaurants in Adelaide. They have the most fantastic thai green chicken curry. Their laksas are also great. If you haven't been to Danny's Thai Bistro and you love Thai good, go there tonight!!
At at Danny's Bistro last night, the food and service was all good. The wine list was long and with good wines at good prices and I got to try a new beer (Baron's Extra Special Bitter) which was excellent.
Danny Boy. This guy has been on The Parade forever, he is there everyday and always says hi. Dannys will always be the place to go because the food is always consistent and the service is good! You have to try the calamari - it's the reason why he got on the 'map'!
Without a doubt Danny's is one of the best authentic thai restaurants barring none. Danny himself prides himself on being an aimable host an on quieter nights will often sit down and share a glass of red with the customers. He's a self confessed Wine Tragic. Food is generous. Of special note is the green mango salad, green curry, larp and Tom yam soup. Fire extinguisher optional! Relaxed atmosphere and decor make it great for a quick bite before a movie, with someone special or for a lunch meeting.
Great food. It's a pitty they wouldn't accept an Entertainment voucher with a takeaway order, especially when there was no such condition on the voucher.
A close thai bistro with great surroundings it is great to go out for dinner or even lunch (not breakfast) Best for people who like spicy/hot food
The flavours in their Yum salads are strong and pungent. Not too hot but not disappointing either. Their curries are rich and well flavoured. Danny’s is a busy bistro located on The Parade, Norwood. It’s worth booking a table in advance. They have some classic well made dishes on offer as well as a few that are obviously specialties. Check it out! All the food we had was delicious and the staff were kind and very helpful. Favourful and juicy chicken and vegetables. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes Thai food and can't wait to come back here again.😋🔥
Really lovely food with lots of great flavour. Has a lovely casual vibe.
Wonderful. The meal was divine. Salt and pepper tofu for me, pork belly for my husband. Plus Chinese greens and coconut rice. The service was also lovely. Elise was a superstar waiter. Highly recommended. Look forward to returning.
This place has been around for a long time and for good reason - the food is awesome.
Service is good enough, but won't win any awards. Price is on the hefty side, but the portion sizes are higher than your average Thai restaurant.
Check it out if you haven't already.
Without a doubt the best Asian cuisine I have experienced. Customer service is of a high standard also. Great value and located close to free parking. Highly recommended and look forward to my next dining experience at Danny's Thai Bistro.
