Great food, service, and vibe. Really enjoyed the butter chicken, it was on point! The service was excellent and the staff was friendly and courteous.
So we went out for dinner at Indian restaurant after long time.
We ordered for seekh kebab(portion size was too less, though is was tasty),chicken tikka masala (good flavour but not exceptional,tandoori roti (so thin and fresh probably best in adelaide)
Possibly the best curry we have had since moving to Australia 5 years ago, they dealt well with a dairy allergy. The service and food were fantastic, and there was certainly plenty of it 😀
Second Indian restaurant I've ever been to and to be honest I really enjoyed it. The butter chicken was just a little bit sweet and tasted absolutely amazing. The entrées were very tasty.
Nice flavours but the price in contrast to the service size is more on the expensive size for me. I think Charminar has potential to be better than what it is but currently there are better alternative options.
Fast service. Cheap lunch specials with a lot of options under $10. Add the cheese naan with the money you save to mop up the sauce. The vindaloo is always good.
Have eaten the chicken saag and dal from here, and both dishes were very tasty, as should be expected.
Good ambiance, comfortable inside and nicely decorated. The service was friendly, but unfortunately it is also rather slow, so be prepared to wait for your meals.
Lovely place, amazing service!. I came here a few weeks ago. My boyfriend and I both had a butter chicken dish with rice and naan bread, which was amazing. I also had a pink moscato which I haven't been able to find at other restaurants I've dined at since, which has been annoying since it was really enjoyable. I definitely want to go there and have it again.
The service was amazing. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The seating outdoors was really pretty.
Had the number two banquet for four people, not my usual choice but presently surprised good mix of flavours and plenty to eat, probably could have fed six. Good wine list and good service.
I have been there a couple of times and I love this Charminar! The staff are very friendly although it is a bit of a distance for me to drive due to bad experiences at the Brighton charminar with the manager I am very happy to drive the extra distance to them
I am a regular at the Charminar in Norwood and I could not fault the experience! The service is always super friendly and the food is among the best Indian in adelaide. 10/10! Definitely try it out if you haven't already!
Love it!. This is now one of my favourite indian restaurants. On the first look, it's actually very beautiful. Very well set out with nice lighting that isn't overly bright. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. For entree a friend and I shared a plate of pakoras - two patties of spinach and corn in a chickpea batter, fried. I wasn't too keen on it to begin with but my friend said they were good, and they were! I could go for some right now, definitely recommend them. For mains we shared rice, butter chicken and a lamb dish I don't remember the name of, something like bahut gosh? anyway, they were both delicious. For a saturday night this restaraunt was suprisingly empty, they only had about four tables at 7 when we went. Not sure why this is, I enjoyed every minute!
Lovely service, beautiful decor lit up with tea lights and delicious food. We had the cheese naan and shared servings of bhuna gosht (lamb) and tawa tikki masala (chicken) with rice. Both dishes were quite mild but so delicious, a good choice if you've never tried Indian food or you don't like strong spices. Highly recommend the potato dumplings - light but full of flavour. The servings were generous and we ended up with so much leftover food but the lovely staff let us take it home. Ended up costing about $60 for two without drinks which is quite good given the amount of food and quality. There's actually a charminars at the end of my street but i'm glad i drove the 15 minutes to this one because all the waiting staff are so helpful, attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back!

Charminar certainly doesn't "feel" like a typical Indian restaurant: The decor is of the sleek, modern variety, almost more like an upmarket lounge than a restaurant, with only the most subtle touches of India thrown in. The food, like the decor, has a "light" quality. The curries are flavoursome without being overly heavy, and the naan isn't drenched in oil, as is often the case in Indian restaurants.
The tiger prawns were a highlight. Also, Charminar gets its beef vindaloo just right. Too often Adelaide vindaloos seem to either lack punch, or sacrifice flavour for excessive spice. Charminar gets the balance right: a lovely fiery curry, but one which allows the flavour to come through and doesn't ignore the quality of the meat itself.
There's a reasonable selection of mid-priced wines (most reds around the $30-$50 mark), so you shouldn't have any trouble finding something to match the meal.
Service seemed very good, despite the place being quite busy.
Can't comment on the desserts since we didn't get that far!
Where the stylish people go to eat Indian. A bit pricey, but beautifully presented and flavoured dishes. Professional service and extensive wine list, no cloth table linens here, it's all about Indian with class.
Such a great place! The food is some of the best Indian I've had in Adelaide and the service was fantastic. Served very quickly and continually asked if we were enjoying our meal. Highly recommend eating here!
Staff are always super friendly and the food is super consistent. Value for money is the best around, aside from perhaps India Temptations. Food quality is great. About to order some of this for dinner because it’s making me hungry thinking about the food!
