Tonight, Adelaide Food Central was invited to Gelatissimo Norwood for a gelati masterclass and to try their two new flavours. Gelatissimo started in Sydney in 2002 and is now the largest gelato franchise in the world. Gelatissimo have 41 stores in Australia and 16 international. They provide their customers around 40 flavours and introduce one new flavour each month. Gelatissimo have opened four stores in Adelaide; Norwood, Gouger Street, Rundle Street and Glenelg.
Good gelati, but disorganised. Great gelati but it's chaos when it's busy. There's no clear line or system to make sure people are served in order and many of the staff don't seem well trained in customer service. I'll keep going back (I've really missed having great gelati in norwood since cibo/pistachio closed a couple of years ago) but I really hope they sort out their serving issues. There are a lot of interesting flavours which I enjoy trying, and a good chocolate sorbet which is my favourite.
