Goes to show, don't always trust the negative reviews. Experience the place for yourself. We walked in got service stright away. Friendly young guy served us Food was amazing. Thick Gravies, Crunchy soft chips i love the quiet atmosphere, No loud tv or music in the background. Definitely somewhere I would come back to relax.

Great service and an excellent seniors lunch complete with coffee and cake for just $15. Modern and comfortable inside. Will definitely go back.Five stars for value at this price.

We had a couple drink and entree before our dinner. We ordered Zaatak bread. It was way over salted and hard like cardboard. Very disappointed.

Wouldn't go there again. Not a great meal. Daughters pea and ham soup was full of gristle, half of my chips were cold. Food didn't come out all at the same time. And it wasn't bisy.

Went with a mate on a Saturday afternoon to watch the footy. Surprisingly, we were about the only ones in the beer garden area. I grabbed a menu, a seat, and ordered a beef schnitty. Did not at all appreciate being yelled at by Rebecca (Bec), apparently the shift manager, who took offence to me questioning why I was being charged an extra $2 on top of the advertised $19.95 for a beef or chicken schnitty, chips, AND your choice of gravy. (I ordered mushroom gravy). Rebecca explained this as a typo on all menus, and that gravy was an extra $2. I explained in principle, if you advertise a price you need to honour it. Rebecca angrily, yelled “ just give him the $2 - while walking away yelling “thank you, thank you - then slamming the office door. Venue and food was fine - the staff however need a lesson or two on customer centricity - very poor experience!!!

Service ok. Feel like a country pub. Limited menu. My beef snitz. Beaten to a mere 2mm thick. Won't be back.

Had dinner there last night.. would have to say (and i dont like being harsh on pub food but... ) very disappointed. . Ordered the duck with chargrilled olive tepanade an pair .. the duck was very under done and rubbery.. the skin was close to raw and could not cut through it.. the pairs were raw and almost nonexistent. . And the chargrill tepanade was overpowering and consumed the dish. .. my partner ordered a medium rare porterhouse steak.. it was almost blue and cut into pieces so it appeared larger on the plate... over all it was by far the worst meal ever .. sorry guys work out how to use your griller and sharpen up you flavor combinations and youll have a good restaurant

Wednesday's Schnitzel day at the Britannia Hotel. I was with three other people and when we ordered, was told there's a 30 minute wait on food. Thought that was a little unusual considering the place wasn't even half full. I had a chicken schnitzel with sweet chilli sauce, avocado and prawns. The schnitzel was well cooked and served with fries and salad. Pretty standard pub food.

Steak Night. Not necessarily worth the $10.90. Bought a Portahouse on Steak Night. Great value. - medium rare $10.90 when you by a drink. But when I got it, it was Medium Well (after cutting into it although it looked dry as well). I asked the waitress if she could change it and low and behold the cook (I daren't use the word chef) has it returned to me because it had the tiniest pink through it (medium at best).
Well I cut it through the Middle and it was obviously brown all the way through (medium well). I asked for the chef to have a look at it again and it was replaced straight off the grille (what no resting)? Well as it rested, no blood came out. Again this was medium to medium well at best. I showed the waiter and he insisted that brown all the way through = medium rare and I eas the first complsint all night! The steak was tough, the meat was brown and I was told the "chef" was too busy to discuss this with me.
I've attached a photo of what steak should look like if you're not capable of cooking it to feel.
I'm sure this post will get deleted before long so the "chef" can keep his 'no complaint' record complete. However expect Urban Spoon et al to have the same posts. The fact is if I felt I was treated with a little more respect, this could have been a post about how The Britannia Hotel made a mistake, yet did what they could to fix it. $10.90 + $drink is a great incentive, but you lose the value when it's rubbish.
1. What I would have liked was it to be replaced straight away. But I didn't get it.
2. Or on the second attempt, an apology for getting it wrong and rectify it. But I didn't it.
3. Or on the third attempt an apology and maybe, maybe what every decent restaurant does and some kind of offer (not that I ever accept it because I know things go wrong in the kitchen).
But that $10.90 + $drink cost you $100's over the next 6 months at least.

The staff were friendly and took our order quickly. The Britannia Hotel has no salad bar but we were given warm bread at the table and the meal came with a small salad. The salad turned out to be quite tasty and even included dressing and fetta which was nice. The schnitzel itself was much tastier than last week’s. The beef on its own had a decent taste and was quite thick as well. The mushroom sauce was ok but there could have been a little bit more of it, I ran out towards the end. The chips were ok, a tad undercooked but decently salted which was a nice change. The restaurant was a little bit noisy, but it did get pretty full with the lunch crowd which was a good sign. We were tempted to sit outside in the beer garden since it was a nice day, but the noise was not much better
