We had Sunday lunch at "the Nott" when we were passing through the neighbourhood and I have to say we were very impressed with the setting and menu. I couldn't get past the slow cooked Flinders lamb pie and it was delicious! Recommend! Very reasonably priced too! As a bit of a beer nerd, the wonderful and unique selection of craft beers on tap was a nice surprise. So many venues just go with the boring and well known brands. We had a bit of a look around as it is quite an extensive place and I think I'll be back to try out their steak house. Sports bar looks like a great offering for those so inclined too. Staff were friendly and knew about their beers too. Go there!
Great good old fashioned pub fare, unpretentious setting and most importantly fantastic service. The kitchen know how to crank them out at busy times and the staff make you feel like it is your local. Really enjoyed just sitting at the bar tonight eating my meal and having a bit of a chat to the staff. The burger was amazing but hubby forgot to let me taste test his steak!!! Looked amazing and what great value! Keep up the good work guys and congratulations to the staff on knowing what great customer service is!
Cracking beer list and loved the beer garden. Perfect menu with plenty of pub classics. Couldn’t fault our meals or the service. Will be back for sure.
Excellent pub with best fire place , friendly staff and the comedy nights are great , love the place :-) Trevor.
Great local pub with honest, old style pub food in the uni bar and higher end dining in the steak house. Awesome beer garden. We need more pubs like this.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Highly recommend the Tuesday night steak night, fantastic value!
Great atmos, great food, fantastic staff. Highly recommend. Cant wait to see when the reno's are done, should be even better!!
We come here regularly but there’s something different happening tonight.
The tasteless dry Potato Gratin has been replaced with a succulent moist offering that’s just delicious. The steaks r always pretty good but tonight it’s been ramped up! Little Joe’s scotch and my eye fillet were both cooked to perfection!
We’ve always been regulars but tonight it’s just plain awesome!!
Thank you and well done to all the team.
The steak was amazing
Call in for a steak worth the urber fare. Sensational!!!!
Pub food, live music and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
We ordered the 300g porterhouse steak which was lightly seared. The meat maintains its tender and juiciness. The mushroom sauce waa slight think but had the best meaty aroma. A generous amount of potato mash.
After coming back from Melbourne after a holiday the first thing I wanted was a Parma. It was late so the Not was suggested as an option. The Panko Crumbed Parma was delicious with some great chips. It was great to be able to add on salads as well.
Pizzas were delicious. I would highly recommend their mushroom pizza- it's very flavoursome. Alcohol wise, I really enjoyed the Pimm's- they were very fruity and fresh. Service was very efficient as staff were prompt to clear out empty glasses and pizza boards. A chill place to relax and catch up with friends.
Food was great. Staff friendly and accomodating. My only slight negative was the main coming out immediately following our entree. Having said that the steak was fantastic. I ordered a pepper sauce to go with it but this wasn’t needed. The steak was great on its own, without anything on it.

nothing like a delicious bowl of gnocchi with braised lamb beside an open fireplace for lunch on a cold day 👌 great quality bistro with self serve salads and delicious mains! Not to mention the fireplace ❤ 8/10 for portion, price and decor ☑
Awesome place for team gathering or kicking back with some friends after work. The staff are super friendly and warm. Ample space and always crowded. Comfortable indoor and outdoor seating especially when the sun’s out and there’s a cool breeze. Food is always yummy and generous portions especially the pizzas, steak, parmas, fish and chips and chicken burger. Love the coleslaw at the salad bar too - so crisp and refreshing.
This is my local and I love this place. There’s plenty of room for the the kids to play outside. The kitchen and bar staff are super friendly. I’ve celebrated both my kids 1st birthdays here and they’ve been so helpful. Also the pizza is so yummy!! 😋😋😋
Crispy chicken burger was very tasty, with a good jalapeño kick. The chicken parma was a bit dry though. The sweet potato fries were also good.
Went on a Sunday evening after an event nearby. It was a quiet evening with people scattered on a few tables.
Ordering food is a little confusing depending on whether you wanted pizza or something else. We ended up settling on pizza so to avoid confusion and they were all great.
They had a good selection if beers on tap and a huge outdoor area with plenty of tvs to watch sport. All in all it was very good.
This is one of the last true bastions of the east and the laid back atmosphere is why we go. Open fire in winter, comfortable outdoor area with filtered shade in summer. Take the dog, the kids, your mates. Bustling and busy on weekends with a crowd that’s diverse in age, experience and lifestyle but best of all... No pokies. Love it.
We had the steaks and there was a choice of potato gratin, mash or thick cut chips with your steaks along with a side salad. We ordered our steaks medium rare but they were cooked medium-well. The salad was a little too oily and needed some citrus to cut through the oilyness. Other than those small things the steaks were seasoned well and were flavourful. The chips were more like roast potatoes but they were crispy and seasoned well. The mash was silky smooth. Our waitress was patient, polite and friendly. Before the meal they served warm bread straight from the oven with butter. The atmosphere is not great as the place is old and there isn’t much decor but I would come back for their steak.
Standard pub fare that caters to the university crowd,as well as the offices in the area. Good for after work drinks, and for drinks on the weekend. Some nights they have live music, and have a nice beer garden and courtyard. . Food is alright, nice for pub food but still pretty average for the price. They do include a salad bar for main meals. Not table service so you have to order at the counter and wait for your number to be called.

I heard the parmas here were quite decent (and they aren't that bad at all, huge), but I liked how large the place is; not limited to the hotel - maybe I'd consider this place as a casual function.
I enjoyed my seafood hotpot, but I'd like more than one scallop :p
The food here is very big. The kids menu is totally enough for me. You can have whatever salad you want from the salad bar and there's various choices. The fish and chips and quite nice and I love the chips.
Came here after work for a break up lunch. Was surprised to see how big the beer garden was. Most of us ordered the typical pub Parma which was a large filling serve, there was a salad station where you picked your food up which we thought was a pretty good idea to put your own choice on your plate. There seemed to be a large choice of beers. Happy to come back with the work crew again.
What a great meal. My wife and I each had a parama. , The food was served quickly , great flavors and pleasant service. But if a salad bar if you wanted to help yourself. All in all a simple classic pub feed. We will be back to try other parts of the menu.
Just back from the Nott and had the MOST delicious burger with fries. It's better than the burger at Burgled in Huntingdale- a fantastic charred burger, high quality bacon and a great bun. Fries also delicious. It's a great atmosphere on a Sunday night and will definitely be back.
The Nott has the perfect beer garden for a summer afternoon! Shade from big trees and umbrellas, screen for sports, boule and giant connect 4 for kids. Good menu and friendly service - great way to while away an afternoon with friends.

Went to the Nott on grand final day the atmosphere was awesome, families, kids and people just having a great time, massive tv in the beer garden and surround sound to go with it, we had the angus beef sliders and gnocchi with slow cooked lamb ragu (a special) and the tomato and basil bruschetta all were amazing and nice cold beers on tap furphy especially, great place
Great vibe, great value for food (main + salad+a pot for 16). Could hardly finish half of the plate. Went there for wed trivial and special parma night. Had a ball. Will definitely go back.
The Nott is an institution for Monash students, especially anyone who has lived in the halls. The food prices are a bit hiked up for what they are but they have some weekly specials and nobody can go past a Thursday night at the Nott after another week of uni!
Finally a pub in the monash area that I'm proud to call my local. This pub has it all, great friendly service, top quality food and a great selection of craft beers on tap as well as in bottles, which is a first for the area. The pub is separated into 4 sections: a outdoor beer garden complete with large screen tv, the local bar that has TAB facilities, a UNI bar that has a family friendly atmosphere to it with great reasonably priced pub food that will tantalize any taste bud and last but not least the Bistro where the chef serves a more refined and brilliant imaginative take on some classic pub meals. If you are a local or just passing by, book a seat in the bistro and be mesmerized by their mind blowing menu and I'll guarantee you won't regret it. The only issue I can fault with this place is that the bistro is only opened during the evenings of Friday's and Saturdays only........ Oh and also it would be good to see rotating taps of different Aussie craft beers.
Great Meal!! Place was full to capacity but service was quick and porterhouse steak perfectly cooked with great sauce and sides. Really impressed!!!

You know that sort of weekend were you have such a long list to do and you only get 3 things partly done..well that was my weekend, It was nearly a waste. The only thing that makes it worth while was catching up with friends for brunch and having dinner out with the family. The place we went to dinner is called The Notting hill Pub, its been around for 70 years and family owned. I have been there a couple of times. It is quiet modern looking, Massive projectors lots of speakers. It looks old from the outside. For dinner you have a salad bar to start with, I had potato salad and it wasn't to salty, or too much mayonnaise. For mains I had the Roast chicken with potato's, the potatoes exploded when you ate them. Crunchy on the outside but soft in the center. The chicken was cooked perfectly, it melted in your mouth and was sweet yet smokey. My brother had the Burger with the "works" so it pretty much had everything. Kim had the Shepherds pie, it was perfectly cooked. Crunchy to
Fantastic!!!. I loved The Nott back in the 80's and thank God not much has changed!!! This iconic pub has still got the wonderful atmosphere it had back then...great pub grub and very friendly staff!
Great pub grub. Had the 300gm porterhouse with chips, salad and peppercorn sauce. steak was bang on medium rare, salad bar had some great options, i went with there greek salad which was ok. the peppercorn sauce was creamy and the chips were....... chips. good servings for the price aswell. i will come back :).
Still nice pub with some minor renovations which have improved the place. Meal prices have increased in the Bistro and still have self serve salad bar. The veal schnitzel was nice but the calamari was awful and straight from the freezer section. Still overall reasonable value for pub pricing and quality...
Sublime. Every time I visit, the menu is always having new things in stall! Excellent! The Churros you provided were great. Plus, there was Ice-cream! Yay!
Also, the steaks are absolutely deliciouso. I have visited Notting Hill for the past 7 years from time and again and I can't seem to recall any steak bars, grills or restaurants that can match up to the standards of the steaks here :D
Each time I chow down on these steaks, I always find myself leaving with a satisfied stomach.
The new menu in the bistro is fabulous. I can't wait to come back and try the next dish. Great decor and service too.
Love the newly renovated restaurant and the new menu was brilliant. I had paella and my brother had the seafood pie. Both dishes were awesome. We will definately be back. Great place for business lunches.
Fond memories. I have been coming here since university days and I have to say this place will always have a special place in my heart. I was really worried when they were bought out by new owners but I have been pleasantly surprised that whilst trying to make the food more upmarket they have stayed fairly true to the laid back formula. Really enjoy the parma, the salad bar and the specials board. The price may be slightly higher than before they were bought but they are still ridiculously good value.
I will say though I miss the old Kievs. They used to be filled with heaps of garlic butter and now they are a very light on filling to the point you don't really get the garlic taste.
Also absolutely love the trivia on Wednesday which is why we are still there every week.
Best service, best Chef's, best food & atmosphere around! Keep it up guys :-)
Come for the salad bar!. Dropped in to watch the footy last weekend and this place is awesome - not only is the food cheap (and glasses of house wine for $6) but there is a salad bar! You order your meal and then get to choose from six types of salad. Great open fire in the middle of the room. We will definitely come back. Only gripe - the service to clear tables can be a little slow.
Best pub food in Monash. The new owners have installed a new executive chef, a new menu, now glasses cutlery etc, and a whole fresh enthusiasm.
Its about time the city of Monash had a gastropub to rival the inner city suburbs. If you are sick of the pokie-palace fare at everywhere else round here, the Nott is now a much better alternative. We had flathead tail, salmon, chicken parma and a fillet mignon. It was all very good. And the beer is still A1!
Best parma in town! you can always count on the nott for a great feed.. love this place
The Nott. Great suburban pub. It is really old fashioned and reminds me of pubs I went to with my parents as a child for a counter lunch. The service is great a little gruff in the food area and really lovely from the old bloke in the bar area - there is usually a youngster there as well, but the old bloke has been there for 30yrs or something.
You used to see the old owner if you went in the evening having a smoke and a chat with regulars. Unfortunately she passed away a couple of years ago. I always found it amazing that she would keep the place closed on a Sunday so men would be with their families at least one day a week and never brought in pokies. The pub is now open for lunch on Sunday, but still no pokies - thankyou.
Anyway, the counter meals are great. I usually opt for the fish and chips or the schnitzel. Everything is good though. There is a self service salad bar with seventies style wooden bowls, heaps of salad options and every condiment you could want - even hot english and horseradish. A nice touch is the two halves of white sandwich bread you get with the meal just to make sure you are full by the end of it and can mop up any gravy.
The pub has a good vibe and is very popular with locals. It is my favourite pub in the area and is best for a meal and a couple of beers.
