Food is decent with the free sauce. Chicken rice and the nasi lemak are popular, everyone likes them. But I think staff is over stressed and overreact on simple mistakes...
Cheap and cheerful! Love the $5 BBQ roast pork and rice and hainanese chicken rice. My family have been coming here for years :) always fantastic when you want cheap hawker food in a pinch.
Consistent food. We always order the roast chicken and teriyaki chicken and occasionally the steamed chicken. If you dine in it’s brought out fresh and crispy. For the price, you are getting a good quick meal! It’s tasty, staff are friendly and it beats any fast food joint in Perth.
Food is nice and very sharp priced, pleasantly surprised to finally find a tasty cheap meal. Good chicken tasty veggies and rice. Don’t get hold back by the plastic tables and chairs. Otherwise get a take away.will come back for
Another meal
For a cheap cheap cheap meal this is the place to go. Very unobtrusive comfort food with amazing chilli sauce. I go here whenever I can. For $4.50 you get BBQ chicken & rice, cheaper than the commercial franchise take aways next door 😜
When the food is this cheap you really cant complain i like this place i could buy a whole weeks worth of meals from here for less than it would be to go to woolworths love this place!
A cheap dining option in melville area. I normally get the teriyaki fish and also the glutinous rice which has chicken pieces and yummy mushroom in it (less than $4!!) love it! Only downside is that they have minimum eftpos which prt difficult when you are just by yourself
best food best prices all around G'fun times
Cheap eats. Full of flavour. A go to in the South Street area and popular with the Murdoch Uni kids. The portions are extremely well priced, it isn't the prettiest food but it's bloody delicious. The Teriyaki Chicken and Rice is my go to!
Many years ago before Chillliz's existence, there was G'Fun. G'fun used to be known as "Chili chicken rice" and they operated at Nedlands as well as Karawara. They were so famous among university students due to their cheap price. There was a certain tradition that needed to be followed to eat the BBQ chicken rice...
You think things are too good to be true and food must be lousy given those prices. Wrong! Good food doesn't have to be expensive and they prove just that. Their food are way better than some of the Chinese restaurants with steep prices. Good and efficient service!
Cheap and tasty. It's not fancy but it doesn't cost $20 a plate either. Dinner for two from here usually costs us about $12 which is mind boggling cheap. Probably more of a take away place than dine in. Not the best atmosphere.
An update. Time for a new review. We were there last week yet again, we go at least once a month as the food is plentiful, cheap and very good. How can you beat a huge bowl of veg and noodle soup with meat if you want for $7? Slight price increases but still terrific deal. Love their special rice Great place for all the many students in area too and also for us older folk. Keep up the great work.

What a gem! Great, cheap takeaways ready packed so your in and out fast.
So fresh. The BBQ chicken ANC rice for $4.50 is a winner every time!
Cheap and Tasty. Better range of variety compared to Chiliz. Big portion size and cheap prices. Great chicken rice and also Glutinous Chicken Rice.
Lunch Special. Good food, cheap prices, what more can you ask for? So the decor is bland - I do not eat the decor but the teriyaki fish, the beef curry and the steamed chicken were pretty good. The fish cakes and the spring rolls are A1 and at $1:50 per fish cake you cannot go wrong. Top shelf.
Check out the prices. Cheapest food going...
My dreams came true. When i first arrived at Gfun, we (me, my parents and my sister) were delighted with the relaxed atmosphere and amazing, cheap food. In saying it was cheap, I do not at all intend to say it was not amazingly good tasting food. We would go there nearly once a week for our dose of asian treats. Amazingly good value for money - a gem.
Money talks. Who can argue with $5 for a Nasi Lemak? ($4.50 takeaway). Fast food Malaysian style that does the trick.
Too Good to be True. Brings me back to uni days, love the new stuff and the old prices. Missing aunty May but her sons are a chip off the old block.
These guys are the best food around for anyone wanting a filling health meal! Only down side, they not open 7 days a a week! By far the best food and value for money!!
$4 for a delicious takeaway, what more can you say? The owners are friendly as well. We always pop in when we are in the area. I only wish it was around when I was at uni, living around the corner...
**Cheap Chow**. Well I find it hard to go past G'fun without stopping in for something, its lovely food and wow how cheap $4 a takeaway container have a look at the menu as the greens are great and only $2 or $2.50
G'fun is nothing flash inside but the food is great and cheap so I would recommend takeaway and don't forget to bring cash as its CASH ONLY
So cheap, simple, great taste. Spring rolls are the best i've had. Might go get some tonight!
Love it. We always call in here en route to Freo Hosp appts. $4 for areasonable serve , our favourites are the Teryaki fish and chicken plus the BBQ chicken with veg, and $2.50 for the Glutinous or sticky? rice which is to die for. WE always buy extra and freeze for another day.The noodle and veg soup is I think $7 and a very large serve which we share, beautiful flavour. Staff are fine and helpful. No decor to speak of but clean and fast service.
Cheap and pretty good. At around $4 a dish, you can't really complain. Good place to pick up a quick, decent meal. Dont' go there for a great dining experience, just good, cheap food.
CHEAP AND TASTY. Enough said.
Simple things in life.. Don't go expecting 5 star fine dining or anything, but if you want a variety of (very) cheap, simple chicken and rice meals to hit the spot when you need it, go no further. Nice friendly owners always willing to accommodate and the guaranteed lowest prices in town make this cafe a gem for the cash strapped student (or in my case, gym goer) needing a hit of quality protein and carbs.
***** 5Stars for cheap, quality meals.. Very Recommended, $4.20 buys a generous amount of roast chicken breast with rice! Bargain!
Similar to chillz this place rocks for us students most dishes cost around $4
How nice isn't it when your desired combination of meats and vege can be custom made and costs about $6? Certainly value for money. I got an egg noodle dish that came with both original sauce and curry sauce, two half-boiled eggs and lots of vegetables. Simply delicious!
I'm not really one to comment on a food outlet, but I've been very lucky to have eaten at G-Fun. Their food is nostalgic and absolutely delicious. The prices and portion of their food is a bench mark on how some food retailers should operate. Their value for money prices means that from a school student to someone living on a budget could afford to eat them on a daily basis. Their low price isn't a sacrifice for quality or taste. It just shows to all of us that sometimes money isn't as important as someone having a wholesome and healthy meal for a decent price. Thank you G-fun Cafe for looking out for the community. Much love ❤
Love the delicious food at great prices. Staff are wonderfully friendly, we love Gfun!
Taste delicious at a surprisingly affordable price. Such a hidden gem!
Amazing food, great prices and really friendly service!
We've been going here for years. It's our favourite take-away /eat-in cafe for mainly Chinese food; but it does have some Malay & Indian dishes. Frequented a lot by students as it's affordable. And the staff are friendly, helpful & accommodating.
