Dessert time đ°
- Galaktoboureko: One of their signatures, and I can see why. Perfect ratios, not too heavy. I love that its so moreish thanks to the texture contrasts. I have been bored eating galaktoboureko before but not this one.
- Trigona Panoramatos: Lovely. Simple and perfect for a lighter dessert. The filo is shattering and flavourful.
- Orange cake: The texture is so loose and tender itâs divine, however this one was a bit too sweet for me. I wouldâve enjoyed it even without the syrup.
- Baklava: Love the strong walnut flavour, and the pastry is rich and crisp.
- Chocolate mud cake: Straightforward mud cake. Nothing fussy, just nice mud cake.
- Eclair: Nice but the chocolate top tasted too cheap. Pretty ordinary, I wouldnât get this again.
I was very impressed by how fresh and lovely they all were, even at 9:30pm. They were all very sweet though, probably the sweetest bakery Iâve been to.
Thank you Bec for your lovely and helpful service đ
Toblerone cake and galaktobouriko was ordered with coffee frappes. The sweets were enjoyed by all. I donât think frappe is for me as Iâve gotten used to cappuccinos but the service and sweets were good.
ITEM: ***FREDDO CAPPUCCINO*** ***KATAIFI GALAKTOBOUREKO*** The Greek coffeeâs are always the best.
Itâs not just a coffee, itâs a liquid sanity.đ Coffee is the most wanted and consumed beverage next to water now-a-days.
I can say that #greekcoffee is the best to refresh your day.
This #freddocappuccino is an espresso topped with frothy milk adding shot in the bottom and also served cold over ice.
One straw sip from bottom shot and another from top milk is the best combination to drink this.
This Coffee made my day, tasting a qualified coffee after long time.
#stressrelief #stressbuster
If you are thinking not to ruin the taste of coffee in your mouth and also feel the taste of kataifi galaktoboureko , you have to go with the coffee first and then the kataifi.
Because,
The #kataifi which is with filo layered on top and underneath and coated with a clear, sweet syrup.
It is a tough task to complete this 𤪠but, still you can enjoy the taste for the next few hours. (Rating: In my opinion
FREDDO CAPPUCCINO:4/5
KATAIFI GALAKTOBOUREKO:3/5)

I am truly amazed by Nikos! I ordered my first cake in March 2019 for my 21st birthday and I was in love. Ordering the cake was very quick and straight forward, there was no issues with anything at all. If I had a question, I could just shoot a message when needed.
Because I loved the cake so much I decided to order TWO more for two very special occasions â my mummas 50th birthday and my sisterâs Baby Shower.
All I can say is... WOW.
All the designs and colours I had asked for were made to perfection. They were also able to suggest me topping designs when I wanted to change something about the cake that I was unsure about.
I canât forget to mention how bomb the cake flavours were! Definitely for those with the biggest sweet tooth. I ordered flavours of: Chocolate Hazelnut (my 21st), Vanilla Caramel (mumâs 50th), and Vanilla Berry & Chocolate Caramel (sisterâs baby shower). All were so delightful!
Nikos has done so well for all my events and Iâm so excited to order more in the near future. My family members always ask who made my cakes because of how great they are!
Thank you so much Nikos, you deserve all this credit! xx
Love the cakes from Nikkos
One of the best patisserie out in the South East.
Honestly the best tiramisu I've ever had, the cake was light and soft, the cream was plentiful, the chocolate was just right.
The macaron was dense, the flavour was sweet without overbearing. It was really good
came here on a Saturday afternoon and was shook how busy it was!
the service was super fast which was great
we picked up:
đ§the Baklava âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸
đ§the small YoYoâď¸âď¸âď¸
đ§Cannoli âď¸âď¸âď¸
would come back for the Baklava đŻ it was sooo crispy and flaky couldnât recommend enough!!
Greeted by friendly staff.
Sat down straight away, place was really packed.
Mousaka was lovely.
Overall great vibe in the place, Very well lit.
Full of amazing Greek treats and Sweets. Thanks Nikos for great coffee and cake. I always get a Chai Latte and a Greek biscuit covered with lots of sugar. They are the best đđť

Nice dessert location in Oakleigh.
The interior was nice & well lit.
The chocolate milkshake I ordered was delicious! Really thick & full of good chocolate flavour. I also loved how they served it in the metal milkshake cup. It felt really classic.
The service was friendly but nothing really memorable.
Got an iced coffee to go. The coffee was thick, aromatic and bitter and went so well with the cold fresh creamy milk over lots of ice and topped with vanilla ice cream and cocoa powder. Delicious.

Across the road, still on the main street, a walking only area, like a strip, was Nikos Quality Cakes, not just a cake shop, they do lunch too. Something that irks me though is the eat in charge for cakes and desserts, that applies to even cookies! Say I buy 5 cookies to go with coffee, is the eat in fee cookies + $5, or just $1 per transaction? For some cakes it was $2 more!! And there's no parks nearby...
A small tray of biscuits cost around $24 ( See in the middle layer of the shelves un nice packaging). Nice homemade cookies. I loved their Almond biscuits. Just standing there and wait, makes my mouth watering. Sunday morning, the restaurant almost full. Coffee smells good and tasted strong. My kids loved their Yoyos. A little treat every now and then makes us happy. Keep up the good work.
Got my 3 tier wedding cake from here. I heard this place was the bee's knees. The consultation was quite professional we had a meeting and taste test of 3 different cakes. For my wedding cake I choose cherry ripe chocolate and white chocolate. I've had a lot of feedback from others how much they loved it. I also got some cascading flowers that went down along with the surname topper. The three flavours all mixed so well with each other. My brother heard Great raving reviews so he also got his wedding cake done here. It was quite affordable as well.
Went here today to pickup up a yo-yo for a mate. Being italian I didn't have a clue what this and that cakes were but the food looked pretty fresh. I can understand why my greek mate goes here. Grazie mille Nikos
I came here with my husband after dinner for cake, coffee and wine. It was a busy Saturday night and at first it was a bit overwhelming. There is a huge selection of delectable desserts and the service is kind and hospitable. I will definitely go back when Iâm in the area even for small treats to take home.
We enjoyed a divine array of gorgeous desserts, tea and authentic Greek coffee. A perfect ending to a girls night out. The choices were difficult for us to make a decision as each dessert looked too good to eat. Yumz!!!
Had the most authentic Greek dessert called Galaktoboureko and a fruit tart. The Galaktoboureko was absolutely amazing and the pastry was so crispy. The milk custard was not too sweet and the warm syrup on top just made it superb. Would definitely go back for that.
I popped in for a coffee and cake. The crew were friendly efficient and professional. The cake was terrific and the coffee was pretty good. Recommend.
Stopped in for some takeaway baklava. Was impressed with the quality and taste. The baklava was the right amount of sweet and went down well with a good cup of tea.
I've never been able to fault my experience at Nikos no matter how many times I've been there. The staff are always friendly and attentive and the coffee always ticks all the right boxes
The highlight ofcourse are their decadent desserts - the loukoumades on my last were top notch! Just delicious little bites of heaven! Would definitely recommend gettinf atleast a couple of those (or a whole dozen!)
An Oakleigh institution, as the ancient proverb goes, have you really been to Oakleigh if you havenât been to Nikos? (P.s. the answer is no).
Hot chocolate with soy milk was tasty, in a large mug and with two marshmallows.
Trigono Thessalonikis was divine, fresh creme, thick, smooth and luscious.
Galaktoboureko, cannoli, and the chocolate cake are all exquisite. I couldn't pronounce galaktoboureko but the lady serving me was kind enough to teach me slowly. This is a nice place to treat yourself to some old school authentic Greek cakes and pastries.
Itâs become my go to hot chocolate place on a cold Melbourne morning, I swear by their hot chocolate. You can enjoy a variety of hot and cold beverages, including some Greek favourites on the menu. Looking forward to trying them next time!
I went there this afternoon and I got myself a Tiramisu for $5 so I could have it after Dinner because I find it refreshing also it is hard to park there.
Very busy bakery where all the staff seem to know their patrons. Mix of English and Greek spoken. Lots of baked goods to choose from. Baklava was delicious. Other items we tried were a bit hit and miss but would come here again if in the area.
An old Oakleigh favourite, this place never disappoints with their quality of food, coffee and drinks; as well as their attention to detail. Keep returning year after year and they keep a good thing going. Prices are on par with the area and everything tastes divine!
Purchased a tiramisu cake and was happily surprised at the taste, quality & size of the cake for the price ($45). However, the piping of the message on the chocolate plaque was quite messy...
As far as I'm concerned, I like the way this place continues to better themselves on every level. I deleted my not so positive review because in the times I've been there since, they have been amazing. If a place is willing to reflect and grow, move forward and take on board constructive suggestions, it's a winner in my eyes.
No arrogance here.
Highly recommended.
We had some cakes and drinks. My friend's hot chocolate was not hot enough. My orange cake was really sweet but I loved it. Very attentive staffs.
This Melbourne institution is truly amazing! Great service and fantastic coffee. I had a piccolo latte, and the flavour was perfect it was superb!! Yummm haha
I decided to have a fruit muffin, only because they looked soooo good. The muffin was full of fruit, and I mean FULL! I haven't had a muffin as good as that ... and I've had my share hahaha but I still want more lol
There were sooo many biscuits and cakes that all look soooo good!! Gosh I was putting on weight just looking in the window haha.
And the food, there were some amazing lasagnes and Mousaka etc. too many to mention.
I am coming back here again and again.
Stopped in here quickly the other day for the first time. Picked up two pieces of cheese pie which were both absolutely delicious! One was fetta and ricotta the other was spinach and fetta. Warmed them up in the oven for dinner and they were so so good. This place is famous for their cakes though and was bustling with people on a Sunday arvo. Check it out, you can get some delicious stuff!
Another instance where I haven't been in store but have experienced the handiwork thanks to our ever resourceful EA. Nikos cakes in Oakleigh was the source of a couple of custom made farewell cakes at work today. It was a sad day for work with a lot of history leaving the building but let's get over the sadness with a few moments on the lips hey. Great big butter cream chocolate and vanilla cakes with a solid "cream" centre. Cakes were very dense but quite tasty. Both would not be my choice for a individual serve but good for the masses. It's quite amazing what can be printed on icing these days.
Very good Greek coffee. Service is often good but sometimes can be a bit of a miss.
The decor of the place is what you expect from a typical coffee shop.
Nikos has been an icon of oakleigh for many years and with their delicious cakes (which are fresh most times) and lovely coffee it will keep me coming back.
Surprisingly food food. The pasticho is delicious even though it just gets microwaved upon ordering. The cakes are better than down the road at vanilla
The food here is amazing. The New York Cheesecake is the best I have ever had and all the other desserts I have tried over many years are also divine. Best frappes in Oakleigh and without a doubt the best spanakopita. The food is extremely well priced ($8.50 for a very generous piece of spanakopita) and staff are very friendly. Fantastic place to bring Greek friends as all the staff speak Greek. Lots of tables, both indoors and outdoors and the place has a great feel. Open until late and always filled with people, Nikos is a fantastic place to visit for a late night dessert or lunch on any day of the week.
My favourite cafe in Eaton Mall to catch up with friends. The cakes and pastries are delicious, highly recommend trying their bougatsa. Best frappes in the mall!
Oakleigh is known for its prevalent Greek community. Walking out of the train station, I was met by a wide array of Greek souvlaki stores and cafÊs. My friend recommended we stop by at Nikos for one of their delicious paninis. The giant glass panelled shopfront lets in plenty of light in making the cafÊ feel very open. The decor looked modern with plenty of space to move around and was conducive to letting in huge amounts of natural light.
Stunning shop setup. Clean and tidy. The shop is broken up into 2 subtle levels. Predominantly Greek lower and variety on the higher level. The desserts were fresh and tasty. The selections were substantial and the portions generous. A mix of traditional and more contemporary. A worthwhile experience and definitely more return visits necessary to get through the whole menu. Yum!!!!
Hit and miss with the cakes. Not helped by the fact many have no description (or price) so you are shooting blind when selecting a cake. All visually appealing but some fail to deliver on taste. Lots of seating and good a/c on a hot night.
First time to eat out at Oakleigh. This is a very popular cafĂŠ, full of people and lots of noise. We were a bit confused about where to order as they have two different spots. We decided that one is for take-away and the other is for dine-in.
We liked that there were labels and prices on most cakes, but there was quite a few that werenât named and had no prices, so that made it a bit difficult, and we ended up not choosing those even though there was some that looked appealing.
We enjoyed our extra hot caffe latte and hot chocolates â they were hot enough. We also enjoyed our cakes. I shared the Mars Bar slice and enjoyed it â very rich and decadent!
I also had a trip to the toilet which is up a narrow flight of stairs. The toilets were acceptable and get my tick of approval!
haven't been to Oakleigh in some time so decided to wheel out my mother for a quick lunch. Firstly just LOVE the atmosphere in Eaton Place...felt like I was overseas. Huge selection ranging from lasagna and Croque monsieur through to pannini and arancini. I went for the spanakopita and boy was I glad I did. A massive slice with a little salad, crispy and tasty and an absolute bargain. We shared a delicious lemon meringue cake washed down with coffee. The service was amazing:quick, unobtrusive and friendly. Our water glassed were constantly topped up. The tables outside are great for 'people-watching'
Nice place..good ambience. It has a nice array of sweets. Must for sweet lovers. I had the Papoutsaki, loved it. Everything looked delish.
Only downside....customer service, not that great, the bearers bought the bill even before we got our order.
I come to Niko's cakes every weekend with my mum and we generally always enjoy it. The sweets such as the loukoumades and galaktobouriko are the BEST! the galaktobouriko in particular is something special at Niko's. Their recipe is just so unique to any others I have tasted.
As for the coffee, it can be disappointing at times but it depends which barrister is working. On Saturday's the coffee never disappoints (and I'm super fussy with my coffee).
The service is generally quite good, I think they're a bit understaffed sometimes hence why the service lacks but I don't go to any other cafe in Oakleigh. I'm committed to Niko's!
Details: Very nice cakes here!!! Came for dessert with one of my girlfriends last night and was very impressed with the quality of the cakes ;)
Recommend: Tim tam cake and the Copenhagen!!! Yummy!
Also had a very nice wrap from here before!
Service: great vibes (especially if you're greek... let's be honest)! Lovely staff.
My favourite cafe in Oakleigh. Great place for coffee and cakes, have a nice selection of light meals too. Situated in the busy eaten mall strip. Great atmosphere.
Busy Busy Busy at 9pm Wednesday night. Oakleigh really hums along. Vanilla had people hanging out the balcony. As it was we were lucky to get a table in the little sunken cake service area at Nikos. Super sharp service from Sotiris. So good I looked for his name on the docket, as no one has name tags. Took orders for 6, drinks and cakes by memory only. Showed the docket.. Got it right. Wink here, nod there. Man I love good wait staff. Cakes and coffee come out... All correct. Great coffee and Shakes. All cakes top notch.
Definately going back to see my new friend Sotiris.
Best bougatsa in melbourne here!!!! A fresh bougatsa and frappe hits the spot đ
Made daily and at times fresh warm out of the oven......
We ordered our wedding cake from here and were very happy with it. These guys clearly know what they're doing. Moist rich cake which kept well, even freezing the top layer of white choc and honeycomb, a year later it still tasted good. Based on this experience alone I would gladly come back for their cakes and coffee.
"HOW ARE YOU, MY FRIEND?" - today's greeting at Niko.
According to MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING we are either GREEK or GREEK wannabes, hey? Whatever the case, Oakleigh early on Sunday mornings is a wonderful place. Chillaxed. Clean. Young and old conversing in Greek. "DELPHI" Bank Lol.
Not as sleek and snazzy as Vanilla. No in-house magazine either. But the coffee is FABULOUS.
Ps we are friends with the WINDOW CLEANER and this is his recommendation for Eaton Mall.
Good coffee and cakes. Too busy but will come back for a coffee and cakes. Coffee is excellent. Great service and welcoming. I know my mate Chis comes at least once a week with the HOG.
We came here for afternoon tea ă Had a yoyo that I was craving for weeks , a ferarro cake for my husband, a pizza panini , a strong latte & a chai latte. I haven't try many Greek cafe but the cakes here definitely one of the best . The cake of the yoyo is plain but soft , goes perfect with the chocolate topping . The best way to eat it is to eat it like a hamburger. One bite ! Yum .
The ferarro cake was delicious! Fresh cream ! Even I have a super sensitive stomach for bad cream , I just love it and can't stop to eat this evil beautiful cake . Lol love the panini . Everything here is fresh & great service. All the waiter & waitress are having their smile on their face . Good food !
The cakes from Nikos are really great, tasty and made to order... But they can be quite pricey (but you get what you pay for)! The coffee is ok, service varies depending on how busy it is.
We went there looking for a wedding cake but then decided to stay and have a light lunch. The atmosphere was great and given that it was smack bang in the middle of Greek Easter it was pumping. Loved the food. Loved the setting. Loved seeing the Greek authenticity maintained with a modern twist.
What a great looking display of delicious desserts! Tried the Black Forest cake and loved it. Great work will be back to try some more amazing sweets and treats!
Huge range of Greek biscuits, cakes and pastries. We bought the loukoumades which were a bit heavy on the honey syrup, so too sweet, and rubbery. I can't speak for the rest of their range.
We had a chocolate and walnut cake and a nutella and cream cake. The walnut one was really good. The nutella was just fine. The cream wasn't flavoured so it was a little bland. And the balance between the cream and the nutella wasn't great. Not enough nutella compared to the amount of cream. But they have so many too choose from. Would definitely go back to try other stuff.
I travel out of my way to purchase my favourite cakes from Nikos. They are always delicious, always beautifully presented and always luring me back for more.
Great place for coffee and a cake, but I would definitely say that there are better eateries only a few shops along. But fantastic cake and sweets selection! Had a birthday cake ordered from there once and still to this day (some 8 years later) best cake I've ever eaten.
DO: Any of the traditional Greek cakes. The chocolate biscuits and sweets are great too, but stick to the traditional stuff like the Greek Vanilla Slice or Greek Donut.
DON'T: Just eat desserts. Nikos serves savoury and coffees too. A great place to just sit, relax and people watch.
TIP: The two cake shops (Nikos and Vanilla) look similar being on corresponding corners, and often get mistaken. Either/or you won't be disappointed.
Nikos is a great little cafe. Their stars are obviously their amazing cakes and sweets. They really do serve quality cakes, however nothing else is really rave worthy!
This is the second one on the meal menu and I can't recall the name of it. Salad with feta is nice. And the food itself is not bad :)
Have to mention that coffee is very nice!

Great coffee, always happy staff and the best selection of cakes and food/snacks in Eaton Mall.
Nikon has been a regular favourite of mine for a number of years and consistently delivers. Highly recommend.
It's a toss between NIKOS and VANILLA who has the best bougatsa: in the end it is a draw.
The coffee is acceptable but like VANILLA don't expect it to be Northside hipster-barista style.
The Greek cakes and the frappe are a delight.
Fresh juice served in a tall glass with garnish. Staff welcoming and friendly. Really nice selection of cakes and sweets. I enjoyed the cheesecake very fresh - obviously popular & have a lot of turnover. Will return when I'm next in the area.
The coffee is somewhat average, a small cup for around $4-5 but the desserts here are scrumptious. I got a large generous slice of their carrot cake for $8.90 and a vanilla chai latte for $4.50. The carrot cake was moist and delicious with a generous slather of cream cheese frosting. The chai latte was disappointing compared to the cake and by the time it came it was lukewarm. I would come again for the deserts but for the coffee? I suggest somewhere else!
The cheesecake here is the bomb!! After a late night at escape room we went to Nikos for supper. I ordered the mixed berry cheesecake. It was quite pricey ($8.50) for a slice but I guess it was a big piece. It was sweet, creamy and luscious. I could have eaten another three pieces. The biscuit crumb was buttery and fragrant. If you are craving a sweet midnight snack, the cheesecake is the perfect treat đ¤
My friend recommended Nikos to us. We went to Nikos for coffee and desserts after dinner. Very cosy and warm place. Lots of varieties to choose from, all sorts of cake, patisserie , greek sweets. I think we got too excited and over ordered đ
.
This is a must go place if you got a sweet tooth. All varieties of authentic greek sweet, cakes, desserts, cookies and snacks in different size available here. We really enjoy what wr order and definitely coming back for more.
Absolutely amazing service by Sofia at Nikos Cakes! I went in with a cake emergency and she was able to organize and deliver not only a beautifully designed cake but also an amazing tasting cake! Thank you so much Sofia, I will definitely be coming and seeing you again for future event cakes â¨đđź
Busy corner location in Eaton Mall Oakleigh. Plenty of seating inside or out. A nice cosy plush corner lounge if you have a special occasion coming up.
What to choose from the menu is going to be your challenge. Greek-themed (with a name like Nikos - what else would you expect!) savoury & sweet dishes available.
We went for coffee and cake.
If you want an authentic "Greek-style" (or Turkish- depending on who you ask....) coffee experience, you have come to the right place.
There is also a side entrance if you want to duck in a buy some fare.
I had a custom cake for my event over the weekend, not only did it look exactly how I wanted but it exceeded my expectations in taste! YUM. The team were really easy to communicate with over email. I look forward to ordering my next cake through Niko's :)
Very busy cafe on weekends! Staff were friendly and helpful but other customers can get very loud and disruptive, wouldnât come here for a meeting / chat though.
đˇ Vegan spanakopita, Mango Mousse Cheesecake, Caramel Macadamia Cheesecake, Baklava
âĽď¸âĽď¸âĽď¸ fully loved this place. Great Authentic Greek food. Great service. Great coffee must visit when in Melbourne.
