Review The Italian Corner - Oakleigh

Nikita Varma
Amazing customer service and good food. Would definitely recommend the polenta chips with truffle mayo. One of the best I've had. I've probably had better tiramisu but it was still very nice. Would definitely recommend this place.

Great food, I loved my risotto, full of flavours. Friend ordered a pizza, but still love my risotto than the pizza. Happy to come back again.

A great spot in Oakleigh. Went there for a surprise birthday of my sister and the staff was very attentive and helpful. They even sang the birthday song 😊. We ordered a tiramisu cake and the pollo pizza. Prices are really reasonable for the quality. Food and coffee was great. Good quality food and service. Great cosy ambience. I highly recommend this neat spot 👍🏼

Good calamari and pizza. A little bit sour so I did not use lemon. Nice staffs and cosy ambience.

The lack of breakfast burger was dissapointing but overall not bad. Food quality is as good as the original Last Piece. Loved the flavours of the mushroom Medley. Wait staff were all lovely and excellent.

Absolutley incredible. Coming from someone who loves Italian cuisine I was excited about visiting The Italian Corner. The reviews looked great and they weren't wrong. Beautiful rich flavours, very fresh ingredients. My friend and I both had pasta's but looking around the restaurant, we both wished we got pizza's. I guess we will wait for the next time we visit. This place is an Oakleigh staple.

Harissa cauliflower salad was amazing. The general atmosphere is good too, very calm and welcoming. Located in a great area, but parking can be a bit of an issue.

I loved the pizza and also WEDNESDAY’s special menu was so yummy 😋 I wanna go there again!

Had dinner here a few times in the summer. The food was very tasty! Love the wood fired pizzas! Always a nice atmosphere!

Italian Corner lives up to its name of being on the street corner and giving its customers some damn good Italian food! Fully rate its pizzas and the kale pesto pasta (with curly fettuccine!!) <br/><br/>The only confusing dish was the antipasto plate - not bad, just interesting combination of cheeses, dips and the board came with thick cut bread.. Still tasted good though so not complaining.<br/><br/>Am keen to be back to try the other pasta and pizza dishes, and dessert!
Sarah
Pasta and Pizza were both amazing. Fast service and good pricing. Will definitely be recommending and returning. Thanks to the team! :)

3.5 <br/><br/>We came to the Italian corner for dinner and sat on the communal table due to how busy it was- the vibes are really lively. We ordered the antipasto to share for entrée, the 4-cheese pizza and the seafood pasta. The antipasto was lovely, a lot of meat selections with cheese- something you really can’t mess up. The pizza was what was advertised- extremely cheesy however I did find that the blue cheese flavor overpowered the other cheese flavors. The seafood pasta was cooked well but we did find it very bland

The Dusty Martin was the first gourmet pizza I have tried and it may just be my favourite of all time. A thin, wonderfully light pizza that packs a punch! The calamari was also to die for, extremely fresh and the portion was very generous. The wings were rich in flavour and cooked in a way that kept its moisture very juicy. However, I did not care for the sauce it was paired with, as well as the pasta dish. It wasn't anything special.

Went to The Italian corner after a lovely circus performance. I ordered the Buffala Margherita pizza as I heard that the pizza at this place is one of the best in Melbourne.<br/>A beautiful crispy based pizza with a gorgeous fluffy crust cooked to perfection in a wood fired oven. The toppings were simple yet flavourful and just enough.<br/>A perfect end to a lovely day.

Great spot for Italian food in the heart of many Greek offerings. <br/><br/>There are loads of table configurations, making for comfortable seating which aren't too close to each other.<br/><br/>*Silvio Berlusconi - generous slices of salty spicy salami, with wafer thin pancetta adorn the pizza. The cherry tomatoes give a fresh pop, and the chillis aren't too spicy, just providing a bit of background heat. The base itself is crispy and blistered on the edges, and more soft as you move in. It can get a little bit chewy in the crust, maybe due to a high protein 00 flour. Great flavour in the dough itself though both from the yeast and the oven.<br/><br/>Service was attentive and friendly.

The service here was good even tho there were only 2 staff on the floor! They were still prompt and attentive :) the food was amazing as well. Super interesting flavours with the lamb ribs w coco-cola.. it was sweet and the best part is the ribs were rly tender. The garlic pizza tasted so fresh as well!! <br/><br/>Definitely would recommend everyone to try this place. Lovely place with good food!

I’m an Italian Chef,I went in on Wednesday night. The place was almost full, still I didn’t wait more than 10 minutes to get my pizza and my beer. I get the Nino special, the taste was great. The smoked cheese, the friarielli, the sausage... I really felt like in Italy. I also had the Italian doughnuts (zeppole) for dessert and was great, on this just one thing ( more nutella please 😂) Definitely going back again to try the kitchen! The floor staff was very kind and efficient. Good job guys!!

Andiamo mangiare! 😋 <br/><br/>Food: 7.5/10 (Spaghetti Carbonara, 4 Cheese Pizza)<br/>Service: 8/10<br/>Ambience: 8/10<br/>Pricing: $$<br/><br/>Their carbonara says it all — this is an authentic Italian corner alright 🍝 Carbonara was just the right amount of egg yolk creaminess and bacon was well fried; my friend commented that they went a little too heavy on the salt, but for me it was just nice, so YMMV.<br/><br/>4 Cheese Pizza was served piping hot and the crust had a classic ‘crisp’ sound when you bite down on it. Trails of cheese followed when you pull out a slice, that’s how you know it’s fresh, fantastic cheese pizza! 🍕 <br/><br/>Also, shoutout to the owner whom, I assume, is Italian, very friendly and welcoming, grazie! 🧀🍕<br/>
Burgers Of Melbourne
Pizza, Pasta and cocktails is what we ordered between the group. Pasta was good quality and the Bolognese was yum. Pizza was well cooked with a thin base and fluffy crust.<br/><br/>The espresso martini, the salad and surcharge were the reason a 5 was not given.

Best restaurant in Oakleigh, we’ve been enjoying every single dish each time, never disappointed. Highly recommend!! Lovely food, great services♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I was pleased to be accommodated on a Friday night without a booking. The place was packed. I ordered the lamb shoulder ragu with homemade potato gnocchi. There was a generous amount of lamb that was juicy and tender, and the gnocchi was perfectly firm. I was surprised that Parmesan wasn’t offered, but it actually wasn’t needed anyway. Absolutely delicious.<br/>The espresso martini was strong and the soy chai latte was warm and creamy.<br/>I highly recommend this place.

Just stopped in for drinks early morning on Saturday and it was pleasant enough. Freshly squeezed OJ was great and the coffees were good. We were seated next to the register though and the staff who were not actively serving tables were just hanging around that area, which was a little awkward for us.<br/><br/>Edit: cake back for lunch with colleagues and was the food was good but nothing outstanding. Small portion sizes for the pasta but the gnocchi were nice and fluffy.<br/><br/>The pizza was good but it needed to be cut properly, we only had a standard butter knife to cut through the crust which was rather difficult.

How awesome is the neon sign? Thanks to the Italian Corner in Oakleigh for our amazing meals. Italian cuisine is my favourite and these plates went down a treat 🙌🏻

Love, love, love! If you are looking for original Italian pizza with the fin dough and a flavorful sauce - this is the place to go!<br/><br/>Bright and modern space with lots of tables. Stuff is super friendly and attentive. I have tried red based and white pizzas there which are all amazing. The tomato sauce is rich in taste and the dough thin and soft. My favorite is the classic pizza marghertia with buffalo mozzarella. So far the best Italian Pizza I have discovered within Melbourne!<br/><br/>All in all a great atmosphere, nice stuff and amazing food!<br/><br/>Definitely recommended!

Craving a more traditional Italian pizza with the thin base so came here. Was not disappointed. Had the ninos special and am still salivating thinking of it. It was packed full of flavours. Very enjoyable. Also shared antipasto plate which was fantastic. I look forward to trying more of their pizzas

(would rate 4.5) The food here was great. I definitely enjoyed both dishes. The Eaton Mall was definitely amazing. <br/>The service here was also great. <br/>Don’t really have any complaints.

Changed name from The Last Piece did not stop this place from buzzing with customers. We arrived early from last minute booking, the lady was great to offer us a table on a jam packed night.<br/><br/>Ordered linguini marinara with red sauce (as recommended by the previous reviewer). It tasted good but not overwhelming. The panfried gnocchi was very nice. The third pasta we ordered was pappardelle carbonara, tasted nice and not too creamy which was a plus. We also ordered the white base truffled mushroom pizza and it was delicious, although the ham was a touch on the salty side on our tastebuds.<br/><br/>We had a wonderful dinner and will sure be back for more!
VeganeatsM
I have been meaning to try out this place ever since I saw they had a vegan cheese substitute. I came here and ordered the vegetarian with vegan cheese. The staff were super friendly and were even giving away free Nutella pizza! I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for an alternative to the traditional Greek food of Oakleigh.

Maradona – pork & fennel sausage, porcini mushrooms, roasted potatoes, bocconcini, parmesan. Was a bit plain. I liked the Dusty Martin pizza (tomato, san daniele prosciutto, bocconcini, fresh rocket, parmesan) I had here a couple weeks before better

Been here a few times for different occasions. My choice of restaurant if you dun feel like souvlaki or just cafe in oakleigh. The last piece offers a variety of choice like pizza, pasta, mains, desserts. <br/>Early dinner at 5:30, they have kids for free between 5-6pm when you order adult meal, 1 kids meal for free which also give you a few choices for kiddo. <br/>Staff are very efficient, keep it up!

Decided to venture into Oakleigh but wasn't interested in the traditional Greek offerings which it is famous for. A quick Zomato search revealed The Last Piece as a worthy contender.<br/><br/>Monday evening 7.30 pm and lo and behold the cafe was packed and we were advised a 25 mins wait. Fortunately for us, a large table emptied out and the very friendly waitress came out as we were walking away and advised us that we could have a table in 5 minutes.<br/><br/>Kids orders of Hawaiian pizza and Ham and cheese looked scrumptious and were consumed with gusto.<br/><br/>I ordered a chicken parmigiana with chips and the service size was massive. The breast itself was tender and moist and the sauce was cooked to perfection. The accompanying fries were saltier than the usual and my next visit here will ask for a less of a shake of salt.<br/><br/>The other order was the Maradona pizza and it was rated well. As I am used to a thin crust, the crust did feel thicker and delicate to the senses.<br/><br/>The service was exceptional and the waitress provided colouring options for kids as well as interact with them in a meaningful way. Despite being very busy, we felt that we were being looked after quite well. Definitely a place to return to with a heartier appetite.

We ordered the Lamb Benny, Mixed Mushrooms, Calamari salad, kid's ham and cheese pizza and kid's chicken tenders and chips.<br/><br/>Overall, food was presented beautifully, tasted delicious and service was friendly. I would definitely return.

Came here for lunch today . Had the calamari salad , linguine Mariana ,tea and coffee . Love the linguine , it's delicious ,the sauce are exquisite. Calamari was fantastic too. Friendly service , located in a busy area ,very easy to find .

Nice and spacious interior with plenty of seating. Although cafe styled food isn't anything super creative or different to most cafes, the place is great with pizza and pasta dishes. Bubbly and lovely waitress.

Had just finished up from Chadstone on a retail therapy sunday evening, looking around the area for a bite. Was bored of the normal offerings in Chadstone. Looked up zomato and decided to go with this place cause of the high rating. Arrived at restaurant and was seated immediately, along with menu for us to decide. Went with the eggplant parmagiana and linguine marinara in white and a side of chips. Sucker for pomme frites always. The eggplant parmagiana was different to the normal crumbed style. In a good way. Perhaps more like veg lasagna version but not as fulfilling. The bread crumbs some were too chunky and couple of big pieces were rock hard to bite on. The linguine marinara in white cause I asked for it, pasta cooked al-dente, seafood was fresh, but it was probably from a marinara frozen pack. There was no mussels, replaced with clams, which was sandy in a few of them. Chips were nice and crispy. It was hard to catch the attention of the waitstaff while seated, had to go up to the counter to tell them that we are ready for order, but they were polite and courteous. Overall would go back if was in the area again, pizza looks good.

Ordered Beef Pies, Sausage Rolls, Chicken Burgers, Lamb Burgers, Point Sandwiches, Rice Paper Rolls and a desert platter of Macaroons, Lemon & Chocolate Tarts for our small team of 15+ work. Price was reasonable, food was on time, neatly packed and beautifully presented. Since there were Calamari Cups included which we did not order, Dane made the decision to not charge us for the same without dilly dallying ensuring the customer service was just as top notch as the food they offer. The food was beyond a hit !!! Fabulous job Dane & Team. 'The Last Piece' will definitely be a top pick for us corporate and otherwise.

Exorbitantly expensive pizza. Don’t bother. Head around the corner to Il Maestro for pizza instead which is always consistently tasty and while not the cheapest, their pizzas are great.
Coco
Ordered seafood pizza and seafood risotto, pizza bottom a little bit burnt, charcoal flavor is over my like. But wood fired pizza can’t complain.seafood risotto is perfect seasoning ,seafood is fresh and tasty.keep going guys!

I have found a new favourite local eatery! The original TLP is in Waverley Park, but I think the newly established Oakleigh TLP rates higher on my list. Even though it is known for its pizzas, I just had to order the linguine marinara (and asked for tomato sauce). One word: Wow. It was every bit what I hoped for. The sauce was thick, flavoursome and brought the rest of the ingredients to life. The seafood was cooked well and I particularly liked the squid and mussels (on the menu listed as mussels but looked more like pipis). I ended the evening with a soy chai latte which was every bit fragrant and sweet. It was the perfect cosy winter meal and will definitely go back again!!

Had a fabulous meal here last night. Staff were friendly and attentive. We had an entree of marinated octopus and garlic bread, mains were Margarita pizza and the Maradona pizza. It was so refreshing to see a Margarita pizza made properly! We loved everything we ate except the garlic bread which had mozzarella cheese on the top of it which we never asked for. I thought they’d served us some kind of cheesy toast instead. We ordered plain old garlic bread but I assume the waitress took it upon herself to add the cheese which we were charged an extra $4 for. She certainly didn’t misunderstand our order as we chose the garlic bread over the garlic focaccia to avoid the cheese. Other than that, we enjoyed our night.

This place is a great new edition to the Oakleigh mall food scene great food & service the staff are very friendly we started with garlic bread & arancini balls & then osso buco & pizza 🍕 for main plus a cold beer 🍻 on tap overall great experience I will be back 9/10

We came on a Thursday night and were seated at the front of the restaurant that was dimly lit making it hard to read the menu. We started with a garlic pizza and it was really good. Several other pizzas were ordered and they was delicious. Our favourite was the chicken pizza, very tasty. We also ordered a grilled calamari salad which for the serving size and a lot of lettuce was quite pricey for $26. Very friendly service. Will come again.

Visited The Last Piece a few weeks ago on a very busy Sunday lunch service. My sister and I were promptly seated, however struggled to get service. The two waitresses were trying their hardest but one extra set of hands would have made a huge difference to them, and customers. Once we eventually placed our order, we were not disappointed! The slow cooked lamb shoulder pizza was delicious 😋 I am not local by any means and would be happy to drive over an hour to try out this place again.

Service was friendly, food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. Compared to some cafes the menu items for breakfast may be limited but I like that the dishes are simple and not trying hard to be fanciful. The scrambled eggs was silky and creamy and had just enough heat. The roasted pepper was smoky and sweet. The granola bowl was balanced with the right ratio of fruit to yoghurt and granola. Will come back after 11.30am to try their lunch items next time.

Awesome food! My mum and I ordered the gnocchi, the cauliflower salad and a garlic pizza. The gnocchi was delicious, the salad was fresh delicious and filling and the garlic pizza was so tasty! Can't wait to come back and try the dusty martin pizza ;)

The Beetroot Cured Salmon was my favourite, but it appears to have dropped off the menu.<br/>Overall, the food is very good and a great alternative if you want a change from the usual Greek fare in Eaton Mall.

Shared a meat lovers pizza with extra pineapple. For me great pizza starts with the perfect pizza dough. It’s the perfect thickness with a slight smoky flavour from the wood fire. But probably the addition of pineapple made the middle of the pizza a bit too wet. The ham is fresh, Italian sausage is slightly spicy all topping is delicious. Service was nice and friendly. But when we were about to pay, on top of the register there’s a note that said they charged a public holiday surcharge of 10%. I believe that this sort of disclaimer must be made at the entrance and notified by the waiter when placing the order. Just left an unpleasant taste in my mouth when we left.

Headed over to this Café for a birthday brunch on Easter Sunday, and was a lovely place for it. The Last Piece is famous for it's pizzas which were of a quality standard indeed.<br/><br/>Food: As a group of 6, we opted for 2 pizzas, the Meat Lovers and The Dusty Martin, as well as the Calamari Salad and the recommended Roast Cauliflower Salad with lamb shoulder, which we were told to be a crowd favourite for some time. While the Dusty Martin is also one of the highly regarded pizzas, personally and we came to a conclusion that, we actually preferred the Meat Lovers, which had more sauce and flavour. I felt that the Dusty Martin was slightly on the drier size, but nevertheless both housemade pizzas were enjoyed. The calamari was tender and not too chewy, and was complimented nicely with the rocket salad. The highlight of the brunch was for sure the Roast Cauliflower Salad. The flavours and textures of the dish came together hand in hand, absolutely perfectly. The roast cauliflower, almonds added a nutty flavour and crunch, whereas the chickpeas, grains and lamb added some more chew to the dish. The tahini was the perfect accompaniment to top of such a delicious salad. I would absolutely return just to have this dish in itself! We also ordered a round of coffees and the Wellness Smoothie, which was quite filling and pleasant indeed.<br/><br/>Service: The girl that served us greeted us with a warm smile and was extremely accommodating. She came around regularly to take our orders and check up on us, also giving us food recommendations which were loved by us all. Our drinks and food all arrived very promptly, and each dish was presented impeccably. <br/><br/>Ambience: When we first arrived there were very few people in the café, and we were a bit worried that the atmosphere would not be as imagined. However, as time progressed, more and more people came in to enjoy a wonderful brunch and pizzas, by the time we were half way through until when we left, the café was absolutely bustling with cozy vibes, smiles and delicious aromas. <br/><br/>The Last Piece is an ideal place to visit if you're around Oakleigh, craving some real housemade pizzas, coffees and a Sunday Brunch. The service, food and ambience were all wonderful!

Had heard good things about this place but it was a let down. The food servings were very small for the price they charge. It didn't fill us up at all. I ordered an acai bowl and it tasted very bland and almost off. I addressed this to the staff and they didn't seem to care or offer any compensation.

Nestled in the heart of Oakleigh, the last piece is exactly what the area needed. A modern style cafe with good food and friendly service. Their menu is quite extensive and you’ll be sure to find something you like!

We had a lovely family dinner at The Last Piece in Oakleigh after having preciously tried the Mulgrave restaurant. The decor of the restaurant was funky with a nice clean layout. <br/>We tried a range of dishes- from pizzas, risotto, salad and croquettes. All the dishes were of a high standard. The only flaw was the pizza bases were quite burnt which was a little disappointing. The waitress was very friendly and attentive and made the ordering process for a group of 6 a breeze.<br/>I would recommend this place for a causal dinner with family of friends.

i nearly licked my plate today. lobster prawn ravioli.. i asked if a new chef was working as meals looked different and very well<br/>presented . they were. wish icould have kissed the chef!!!!!!!! ✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️✔️

Great service and good food! What more could you ask for? I had the Parmesan and ricotta ravioli with burnt sage butter- divine. The pizza is good too :)

Being a sucker for truffles, I had to go for the Mushroom Delight. I love me a good mix of mushrooms and it was a treat. I also popped my duxelle cherry with this dish. What is it? I'll tell you, it's a buttery mush of mushrooms (get it?). <br/>Great coffee too but the best part of the meal was the red velvet cupcake. Is it a cupcake? It's like a 2 tiered cake sandwiching a jam and icing layer in the middle. Whatever it is, it's delicious.

This place was busy and all the hustle and bustle of Oakleigh. Service was on point! A great menu with a lot of variety! Well made drinks with well made pizza! Service was fast and efficient would go back for sure

Came here with a friend for coffee. I drink chai & have it a lot at the other last piece as it’s near my work. But I don’t know what happened with this chai, it went super gluggy to the point where I couldn’t strain it at all. They replaced it in the end but the waiters had a really weird response to us telling us that they had given me another drink with coffee in it which I knew wasn’t true because I don’t drink coffee, so I would know the taste. But the atmos was good and the second chai I had was pretty decent

Quick service, lovely venue, nice food, slightly overpriced however I do not mind paying if the food is good. Chilli scrambled eggs and the smashed Avo was our order. Very filling.<br/>Got the Jamaican me juicy juice. No taste out of it. Prob avoid this.

Visited the Last Piece in oakleigh today. This was my 3rd time here all other visits have been ok not great but ok. Today however i ordered the big breakfast should be called the medium breakfast half a sausage hardly any bacon half a tomato and 2 mushrooms $23.00 and it was crap. Partner ordered Prawn and zucchini pizza which they left on a bench for 12 minutes by the time she got it it was luke warm. I thought it was meant to be served hot straight from the oven but the people here do not see it that way. they offered to re heat it which we declined they then offered to make another which we also declined as we had already waited 40 minutes for our meals to arrive. If they keep this up they will not be in Oakleigh long. Will not return.
Kim Lawson
Great place for brunch and pizzas, always a nice meal.<br/>My favourite is the gnocchi but can't go wrong with any of the special pizzas. A great all rounder#
Hooray4bread
Rudimentary breakfasts that you can get better and cheaper elsewhere. Brekkies are competitive in this area, and I rate them on their scrambled eggs. If you can't produce this deceptively simple staple, you're going to struggle with the other dishes. Mine here were dry and tasteless, compared to Brew and Nature Boy nearby. The coffee and service were good, buy no salt, pepper sugar on outside tables. My wife's Bircher muesli was okay, but a not dry and the toasted coconut garnish was stale. Need to pick up their game!

Best coffee in Oakleigh - easily.<br/><br/>We have been waiting and waiting for good coffee in Oakleigh - it has finally arrived.<br/><br/>The lattes are amazing. The coffee type, strength and temperature is always perfect. <br/><br/>And always made with a smile :)<br/><br/>Well done guys!

Nice addition to the eaton street mall precinct. Venue is a bit noisy but the menu is interesting and the service is efficient. For brunch I ordered the chilli scrambled eggs with spiced cauliflower, chickpeas, cheese, chutney and chorizo on multigrain toast. A really delicious dish. Such unique and punchy flavours.

For a Thursday night this place was buzzing, the vibe was really upbeat and yes you can still have conversations without going 'wattt?'<br/>On arrival I was greeted by a young team who were very friendly. I ordered the prawn and zucchini pizza noting this was their speciality (they had a wood fire oven and make their own dough). My girlfriend ordered the pork belly special.<br/>When the food was placed on the table it was well presented - the taste ... average. Pizza dough cooked well but toppings lacked flavour. My girlfriends pork belly again was ok but not amazing <br/>Overall a great vibe and ambience, service was top notch let down by the average food
@twogoodtoresist
Last piece breathes a breath of fresh air upon the melbourne branching scene with an awesome menu filled with creativity and flavour. It’s awesome to have a place that was nailing their dinner scene (with pizzas as their speciality) and is now killing it with their breakfast and lunch menu too.<br/>We tried the mushroom duxelle which was flavoursome and generous in serving. We loved all the different types of mushrooms and flavours. The cauliflower grain salad was extremely filling and again very flavoursome. We loved the cheesey yoghurt on top too. Great as a healthier but still filling alternative. The beetroot cured salmon dish with pickled beets was one of our favourite dishes we’ve had in a while- gorgeous, tasty and creative! It was fresh yet filling too! We couldn’t go past the coconut panacotta for dessert which again was unique in its mix of dehydrated and fresh fruits as well as other yummy accompaniments. We tried their new berry ice tea which was super tasty. The green and protein smoothies lacked some overpowering flavours (they tasted a bit bland) but were still decent. Last piece is a must visit in oakleigh - your eyes, stomachs and tastebuds will not be disappointed!!!
Coffee And Food Enthusiast.
In the heart of Oakleigh, it's nice to find a place that offers modern contemporary breakfast with a twist, I had the beetroot cured salmon, it was devine, I love tangy foods and the pickled veggies offered a nice vibrant taste to an already great meal, you may need a side of toast just to balance it all out, but the goats curd offers that, I just with there was a little more curd. Can't wait to come again and try the rest of the menu.
Angela Ireland
We had breakfast here yesterday and it was terrible. We ordered smashed peas and beans, I only got one tiny poached egg served on toast that looked like it had come from the microwave, soft and soggy. There was no taste or flavour at all. The most disappointing part was that $90 later, we left unhappy and hungry. There are many places to eat in Oakleigh, but for breakfast, this isn't one of them!
Julian Sargeant
First time at the last piece and very impressed... I don't think it will be long before people are queuing for tables here. Generous portions, great flavours and very good service.
Djanka Krustoff
Not sure about this one. I've been here a few times now, but more so during the week, and it is inconsistent. Depending on the time you go, service can be slow; there aren't enough people on hand and it can be confusing as to who is serving. People seem nice and usually eager - even over-eager to the point of being intrusive. Other times it seems there's no-one on hand to take your order and you need to get their attention. Too many chiefs here so leave some time if you're in a hurry and be prepared to pay for the unlimited sparkling water. Good vantage point on the corner but the tight entrance with tables makes it awkward to sit by the window. You can hear people's conversations with their friends as you walk through the door. Not a quiet place and this is exacerbated by an awkward layout. Okay if you have a bit to spend but I don't feel the menu has enough balance. Identity crisis personified. You can't fake passion. Lots of promises but sadly nothing extraordinary. <br/>Small things make a difference. <br/>

Very disappointed to have coffee at Last Piece today and to discover for decaf drinkers this is the most expensive coffee in Melbourne - a whopping $4.70 for a regular size.  It is a bit steep to be adding $0.70 for a having a decaf.  Won't be returning as better value, nicer coffee to be had in the area, with much quicker service too.  Staff more interested in chatting than filling the coffee orders.

This place was amazing. The interior and exterior was really nice, it brought a really good vibe to the place. The staff were so friendly and welcoming the whole time, which made the experience really good and the food (which I had pasta) was really nice and filling. Good proportion for price. Lovely place would recommend

Whether it's pizza, coffee, wine or brunch the Last piece has got you covered! We've had a great experience on both occasions here! The staff are lovely, always up for a chat and cracking jokes! Great standard of food, great coffee and a great setting!

Where is the last piece? Lovely cozy restaurant in the heart of Oakleigh. Once we got in, we felt welcomed by the lovely staff. Looking at the menu, it consists mainly of italian and greek inspired dishes. In the end, we decided on the grilled octopus, chorizo and kipler potato salad and blue swimmer crab linguine. The texture, flavours and freshness of the dishes were simply perfection. Soo delicious that we couldn't leave the last piece untouched/ uneaten!! Thus we will definitely return...

This place is wonderful. Great service. Restaurant fit out is awesome. Have tried a range of food and very impressive. Don't think there is a better pizza this side of the city. Pretty close to perfect. <br/><br/>Update: ate there again, food is still just amazing

New pasta and pizza place in oakleigh. Tried 3 pizzas. The pizza crust is thin and crisp. Not soggy in the middle. Has a good bite to it but not tough. Flavour is as good as any. Mushroom spaghetti was good. Noodle and taste was just right. Good ambiance. Tables set up to share.

Love what these boys doing at all their restaurants. I'm a regular visitor to their Mulgrave place and has never disappointed me. Good coffee, food and most of all great service..

New hangout for oakleigh! The Last Piece has come. The service is as expected; very attentive from the moment you walk in. The coffee bean is St Ali bean. The standard of the coffee is on par with their mulgrave site. The food menu is a bit different but still pretty good. Cured salmon for me and as you can from the photo, it looks stunning and taste pretty good as well. My friend had the wagyu beef burger, it is huge - the fact there was no complains is a good sign.
Stephanie Papazois
Great little establishment in a central location. Restaurant offers indoor and outdoor dining, and has a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Music can be a bit loud at times, which makes it a bit hard to converse with your companions. Meals come out pretty quickly after ordering, but when we arrived there weren't many patrons, but later filled up. To share we ordered the croquettes with truffle aioli, as well as the pork crackle. Not big on pork so can't say how it was, but the others at my table enjoyed it. I had the frutti di mare pizza, which came with assorted seafood and parsley. I asked for extra chilli and garlic but it was notably absent from the pizza. Still tasted good without it but it would have been better with the extra flavour and spice. Will come again to try the breakfast and lunch options.

Best Pizza in Oakleigh by far, could not get enough of the porkies pizza. My Friends also enjoyed the Gnocchi! Great environment and great service! Oakleigh needs something different. The last piece has pushed some diverse flavours and may have started a trend to steer new business people from opening 'another' souvlaki shop.Spicy Regards.BD.

Yum! Very good pizza base, can taste the sweetness of the flour. Sad that the pizza guy is hidden in the back separated from the main kitchen. Decent sized serving of bacon with the big breakfast. Would be nice to swap haloumi for lemon butter spinach/ greens. Nice decor, friendly staff.

Dropped in for brekky in this new place. The mushroom delight was amazing. Eggs beautifully poached. Various mushrooms, truffle, ground mushrooms with garlic and shallots, so delicious! My daughter also loved her eggs, bacon and the avocado with super generous!! Lovely new fitout and good service. Thank you and we will return!
