Review Kentro - Oakleigh

This is one of the best Greek restaurants I have dined at. The customer service was excellent. The food was delicious and the after taste and memory makes my pallet salivate and I am drawn back to visit again. The choice of desert and taste was perfect. A big thanks to the young lady who took our orders and the tall young man who served our dishes.

Kentro in Oakleigh is a absolutely outstandingly good Cafe/Restaurant Cake Shop, there are so so many different choices of delicious Cakes and Pastries to choose from and they are all beautiful! Infact I would go as far to say that everything on the Menu is delicious and made with love and care, the staff are so friendly and do a great job at keeping up with all the customers as this place can get really busy, but in saying that service is pretty fast, Kentro is also open until reasonably late, so you don't have to rush out to make it in time before they close, the Coffee is high quality and made to perfection, the prices are extremely reasonable for the quality, I was really surprised by how good the prices are! I Highly Recommend Kentro in Oakleigh It's a perfect place to enjoy a meal or something sweet with any kind of company. ☕️☕️🍰🍩🍪🎂🧁🌯🍕🍝🥗

Really lovely front of house staff that ensured myself (on crutches with a spinal injury) and my 60+ year old father (with a walking stick) were seated and comfortable. The coffee is a nice blend and well made. And oooooooh the cake cabinet makes it hard to choose because everything looks absolutely fantastic! They make a fantastic cheesecake (I had the Bailey's cheesecake) and even the biscuit base is to die for. I'll be back to true their lemon tart or lemon meringue because if their cheesecakes are divine, I can't wait to see how well they make lemon curd. UPDATE: I returned for the lemon tart! Lemon tart/meringue is my go-to cake after I try the more unique/novelty cakes somewhere, with nobody de-throning my grandmother from top spot in the 30+ years since I first had her lemon meringue. Mum came in a very close second. Sorry Mum and Nanna, but you both just went down a spot in my ranking of lemon tart. 🤣 I've never had a perfectly creamy and soft lemon curd that has a nice sour kick, there's always the texture from zest until yesterday! I was with Dad, and he said it looked like I was about to cry. That's some lemon tart!! 🍋

My partner and I were in the area over the weekend and couldn't help by being taken back by the appearance and delicious smell of kransky's on the grill. We had to give them a try and am glad we did, very generous portion with cheese and onion. Wrapped in a large hotdog bun, the bread was fresh and reasonably priced. It came out quickly and was delicious!

Delicious food at Kentro! The gyros and chargrilled calamari was huge and we enjoyed every bite of it. Will definitely be back 🙌

Great place in Oakleigh for a meal whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner. I could eat the tsoureki french toast everyday it is so good. The calamari is tender and the 3 meat skewers are a definite favourite. Desserts are a hit as well. Staff are welcoming and friendly.

Delicious Greek food. Loved the dips. The food portion is quite big, for an Asian tourist like me (I’m from Singapore). Had a lovely dinner here.

Only commenting on the cakes as I have not dined at the restaurant before.<br/>I purchased a slice of Black Forest cake and was given one that was old and stale.<br/><br/>Given the circumstances I went out to support a local business and was left a tad disappointed.<br/>I believe it is an isolated incident but it is what it is.<br/><br/>All the best.

Decent Greek food in the Oakleigh strip, nice service and the food arrived pretty quick. <br/><br/>Absolutely LOVED the feta fries and the grilled calamari. We tried the lamb open souva but found the meat wasn't as good as some of the other restaurants in the area. But still a delicious meal and I'd happily eat here again.

Really enjoyed my time at Kentro, it's the third time visiting. The food was delicious and plating was nice. The ambiance really reminded me of a European cafe.

Lovely restaurant, great staff but food was nothing special. Meat was dry, pita bread seemed stale and tatziki didn’t taste have enough flavour along with not enough of it. For the price, I wouldn’t rush back.

My first time trying Kentro and boy was i impressed. I didn't know this place existed until i walked past it a few weeks back and decided to give it a try. Real food with that genuine Mediterranean taste. Friendly staff, nice coffee and display of cakes.

we all had breakfast these afternoon and one off us had the meat platter the food was excellent and the service was good the young lady was very polite and very helpful,also the coffee was very good and the cakes were delicious.these is our second time here , will be back soon keep it up

Was at Kendro for a fathers day lunch today. The staff were very warm and friendly. The food was a very generous portion and very tasty. A great experience, and I highly recommend to everyone

They definitely cater for vegans, being one myself, Kentro had an extensive vegan and vegetarian menu which was very well received seeing as it is a predominantly Greek area. The vegan pasta I ordered was delicious and came at a very reasonable price for the portion, good job.

Kentro, in Oakleigh, the place was PACKED when I went there for dinner last Saturday night. Can't complain about the food, and the service was quick, especially since the place was full, and it's a BIG restaurant.

Not only does this place have great service, but you can even get their food on uber eats 😀 I’d highly recommend the open plate souvlaki 😍 It was delicious 🙈

Surprisingly excellent food. We did not expect great things from a restaurant in the Oakleigh strip on a cold Melbourne night but Kentro absolutely delivered. Large servings and a waiter and kitchen only too happy to add roast veggies to the Superfood Salad for the vegetarian of our party (me!)...and I’m a fussy vego! Will definitely return. Well done guys.

For the price we paid, and for the portions we received, you really can have no complaints. We were greeted and seated right away even though the restaurant was FULL. The Groupon even came with fresh juice to accompany our breakfasts. I will definitely be back!<br/><br/>

They have a massive menu here at Kentro Oakleigh, they cater for everyone which is great. I am a vegan and they had many options in their menu that I could choose from which was nice.

Ordered the lamb burger and vegetarian burger that had the haloumi. Lamb burger had a nice and juicy patty. Vegetarian burger was cooked to perfection. Great flavours. Hot chips were also excellent

Had a fantastic seafood platter for 4 the other weekend ... IT WAS HUGE!! Really nicely cooked fish, calamari, prawns, mussels etc. Great value for money

I go to Kentro regularly and i am always surprised at the new cakes they have available. Great place for coffee and a cake, and they are always so tasty and fresh!

Great location, very generous with their services. Chips were so crispy, pita bread great. Must admit was a bit disappointing with the meat. Ordered the chicken gyros plate. Chicken came out lukewarm and quite dry. Was also not a fan of the tiramisu but think thats more down to personal preference rather then whether or not it was actually done well. I did find the hot chocolate too watered down.

Really nice food here at Kentro, love the big portions they give you and very accommodating people. We had a few people on our table with some allergies, and they catered to our needs very respectfully. Atmosphere nice. Kentro is now our go to spot!!

Fantastic mixed plates, amazing risotto and steak.great value and fast service. We are new to Oakleigh and Will will become regular customers.

I love that Kentro has such a huge menu, including many VEGAN options!<br/><br/>I tried the Vegan risotto, which was simple and tasty. It was a good size for me too, satisfying but not too filling. <br/><br/>The staff were very friendly! Venue was well presented, clean and comfortable. Would definitely go back to try more vegan dishes.

Went for breakfast today and was not disappointed, with a large variety of breakfast meals me and my friends were very pleased. Ingredients tasted very fresh and lots of flavour!

I come kentro Friday night with my family. We have ate platters and some starters like saganki, we also eat calamari and had some dessert. All food was very good and i be coming back with my friend next Friday :)

Have visited here many times. The food is good and you get Nice sizes for money value. The cakes are good too but sometimes the cream based cakes are hit n miss. The staff are great here no issues there. Please try to also add more variety of cakes such as carrot cake, sticky date etc

Great value of money:: we are group of 6 friend and came here on last Friday and had seafood platter, crusted salmon and mixed gyros. Food was very delicious, every one enjoy the food. After food we try cake and coffee, I had choc mousse. Amazing coffee and cakes as well. Great night

We’ve been to this place several times since it opened and unfortunately it’s never been anything more than an “ok” experience. Every time we go in the food is delivered at different times, to the point where I’ve been waiting nearly 15 minutes for my food when people with me have got theirs already. <br/><br/>I specifically request that all food be brought together but it never works. <br/><br/>Tonight I took my Aunty and uncle in with me who are over from the uk and sadly it was worse than ever. Yet again the food appeared at different times and I had to chase my for crusted salmon dish. <br/><br/>When it arrived it was completely overcooked and nigh on burnt, the rice was bland with zero<br/>Flavour and the veggies were cold. <br/><br/>I complained and did get a refund but unfortunately the manager decided to try and defend this poor service and food by claiming they were busy and it was a large place. Surely any chef worth his salt can cook a piece of salmon and make sure a tables food arrives at the same time? <br/><br/>I won’t be returning, there are lots of far superior restaurants that are also cheaper in Oakleigh. <br/><br/>Disappointing 🙁

Fantastic....Had a calamari meal so tender, beautiful. Services was really good and easy. Will come again. My lunch is only 45 min and was served very efficiently. Love it

Was at Kentro two days in a row. Had a small bite the first day - Greek sausage. I've tried Greek sausages before, but this one was a cut above the rest. The next day we came back and tried the grilled calamari salad and a gyros platter. The calamari salad was to die for. Great service as well.

Have been here a few times now and the service is always very hit and miss. We came in recently on a Friday night and even though we had made a booking they didn’t have a record of this but they did manage to give us a table in the end. I was also disappointed that staff didn’t advise me that condiments would be charged extra. Not very nice to only find this out when you get the bill. <br/>Not to mention I had to ask for the condiment at least 3 times before it was brought out and my friend had to ask for her coke to come out as well. Their response was “sorry we forgot because we’re so busy”. They were definitely not busy when a lot of the wait staff was just standing around not doing anything...<br/>The 3 stars is given to the food, very fresh and enjoyable. The lamb I had in my mixed plate was a tad bit dry but the flavours were still delicious.<br/>Also note that when you dine here that there is a debit/credit card surcharge. We were splitting the bill amongst ourselves and I had placed down a $10 note onto my friends pile of notes, the girl at the counter grabbed the pile of notes before I had even paid my share of the meal and proceeded to give us change so we had to ask for our money back. She then confused us as we didn’t know who had put down what amount of notes and how much I had owing. Would’ve been nice if she had waited for us to hand her the money first, rather than just assuming and taking.<br/>Probably will not be dining here again any time soon as there are plenty of other eateries who don’t have credit card surcharges and much better customer service within walking distance.<br/>

I come from the northern suburbs and mate do they know how to make a frappe and a kok as us greeks call them. I always drink my coffee in a takeaway cup and the staff had no issue in remaking my frap in a takeaway as I didn't mention it the first time round. Atmosphere was pumping, the staff were happy and that kok was worth the drive.

The food could not be possibly any worse, all the plates were left over for a group of 20. Everything was stale and sitting there for a week, great disappointment

Standard Greek food as you would get in most other places in oakleigh. The service was quite mixed, once we got to our tables it took forever for staff to come to take our order, we eventually had to waive to get a staff members attention. Staff seemed more concern in cleaning the glass than taking orders. The food came quick once ordered. The food was good and portions were large. Ordered mixed gyro plate and saganaki . The meat was the only let down, it didn’t have the nice crisp fresh off the spit taste, was a bit soggy.

Had the mixed lamb gyros and chicken, was very delicious and delightful. Was very impressed with the service from the waiters was attentive. We were checked upon every so often just to ensure everything was going well. With the plate it cost me $24, however down the road there's a few places that offer the exact same even in portions for $20-$22. So slightly higher than some good places around. The atmosphere here on a Friday night was thriving and my group of friends were quiet pleased with their meal.

If Generous portions, yummy food, high quality and amazing atmosphere is what you expect to get at a restaurant, Kentro is the right place!<br/>We ordered Smashed Avo (replaced smoked Salmon with poached eggs) and Big Brekkie. Wondering why the menu says a ”layer of Avocado on toast”, there were big chunks of Avo on toast, beautifully dressed with Feta cheese and mini Roma tomatoes. Big brekkie was the highlight of the table. Every single element was beautifully cooked and presented and it was not hard to realise all the ingredients are top quality.<br/>If you live in Melbourne and you haven’t been to Eaton Street Mall and Oakleigh Central yet, make sure to go and have a look around and give Kentro a try, as its definitely worth it.<br/>

5 of us had dinner here tonight.we had Saganaki, Grilled Octopus and Mixed meat platters. Platters were huge, tasted great and fantastic value for money. Now can we do coffee and cake.....so full 😀

We went for dinner and had a platter of dips & bread which were homemade and fresh the calamari was very tender and yummy and well cooked vine leaves , followed buy a meat platter which had chicken skewers , tender lamb , pork , beef and chips which were all cooked well. ending with a traditional Greek desert. Served by friendly staff.<br/>

Not sure we will go again. Food lukewarm and disappointingly ordinary. Braised porterhouse, gluggy gravy, frozen veggies, Parma not breast chicken. Pre-cooked and warmed food. Not what I would expect. Mum said her calamari was rubbery. Seriously, there are many great places in Oakleigh. We have tried all of them. Will not be returning here for a meal. Sorry guys. It seems that your chef does not like his/her job. Would like to see this place do better.

Dined at Kentro last night with 9 friends. Food very good. Massive serves. Excellent service from Chris and staff. Will definately go there again in summer though. One negative, restaurant was quite cold.<br/>

Not impressed and probably won’t come back. There were four of us for dinner. Ordered starter and mains. Unfortunately the mains came out before the starters. All the food we ordered was left on the table. The saganaki was cold. <br/><br/>The waiting staff were not helpful and seemed like they had no idea how to fix the problem.<br/><br/>We ate our meal but it wasn’t as nice as it might have been if it was served hot. No offer offer of an apology. There are so many restaurants to choose from I would bother trying Kendro.

Lovely spot outdoors under the morning sun. Freshest ingredients comprising this lovely Sunday brunch a respite from the day to day rushed brekkie/ brunch. Thanks to Bobby and a couple of other front of house staff for their cheerful service!

We were expecting a nice dinner with family from NSW but we didn't enjoy our meals, as the spanakopita had a bad smell and taste..assuming the cheese wasn't fresh. We also ordered the mixed plate & chicken platters, which looked like fancy snack packs & were tasteless. The tiropita was the highlight of all our meals, & was average. Coffees were also a highlight but wouldn't return for food.

For starters we ordered the Loukinaki plate which had chargrilled Sudages with tatziki and lemon. The sausages were really good. They had an Aussie omlette too, but I went for the simple one with ham and tomato. Great brunch for reasonable rates.

Very spacious restaurant which had plenty of chairs and tables inside and outside, with the outside protected by wrap around plastic sheets. The staff were very friendly and attentive and greeted us at the entrance to welcome us in. Our waiter would come to check in on us, bring napkins and the like. Generous portion sizes for the mixed gyros and salad was a plus.

We arrived at Kentro on Saturday night and as were walking in a stern looking lady walked in front of me and asked if we could be helped. I said I had a booking and she led us inside and just pointed at a table and said "Table 9". No friendly greeting or welcoming smile.<br/><br/>We ordered two chicken parmas and they both came out RAW. We immediately told the waiter and he looked dumbfounded when we told him, like he didn't understand what the problem was. I had to show him the raw chicken and even then he didn't quite understand. Eventually he took the plates away and didn't tell us whether we would get another meal or even apologise. We waited another 20 minutes or so and got replacement parmas. We had to ask for cutlery with these too as they didn't bring any out. These parmas were again RAW, just not as raw as before. We told the waiter again and he took them away, again no apology. He eventually brought some menus over and said we can order "anything we want". Not sure what this meant. He also tried to explain to us it was the cut of the chicken as to why the colour of it was the way it was. We just stared at him and couldn't believe he was trying to justify that raw chicken was ok. <br/><br/>Anyway, we ordered again, this time a pasticio and a souvlaki wrap. They came out eventually (again, minus any cutlery which we had to ask for), and they were ok, however, the pasticio was partly cold, so obviously a microwaved meal. <br/><br/>The staff did not come over to our table for a long time after this, our plates were left on our tables, with only one being cleared at one point. They didn't come over and ask if we wanted coffees or any dessert (which we might have had if we'd had a decent meal). When paying for the meal, the parmas were not on the bill, but they lady said absolutely nothing about the parmas or apologised.<br/><br/>We will never be back here again and will tell all our family and friends to avoid this restaurant. There are so many other decent restaurants in Eaton Mall in Oakleigh and Kentro need to significantly lift their standards if they want to stick around.

Amazing deal for the meat platter coupon deal! Super friendly staff! Good fresh food! Came out really fast! Even had another massive entre dish with calamari and dips😊 Impressed!

Great, huge venue on Eaton Mall, faantastic outdoor seating, good service, very good juice, okay coffee, however Breakfast Menu needs an upgrade; composition and quality, it doesn't complement the venue. JT-18/02/2018.

Tried this Greek resto in Oakleigh as one of my friend craving Greek gyros. Restaurant was busy for Sunday lunch. We chose seats outside and the resto setting was nice. We ordered lamb salad, omelette, chicken gyros and mixed lamb and chicken gyros. The food was ok, but the ambience is nice. Lamb abd chicken gyros a bit salty for my liking, but then flat bread was warm, soft and good. As it was busy, we have to keep looking for waiter for water.

Nice food but shocking service had to call a waitress over after waiting 10 minutes. Nobody came over to check if we wanted anything else or check on us yet the place was empty.

Went there for lunch on a sunday(we were misled by how popular it was by the people sitting outside and as we walked in- it was isolated). Got welcome by 3 staffs. We then got asked by 4 staff if we were ready to order only 3 mins looking through the menu. My chocolate milkshake was warm and the glass didn’t look clean so I didn’t have any. The owner- unprofessional- telling his staff off openly, scratches his private in front of us, eats as he checks on his staff and his customers. The food- the meat appeared to be left overs from the previous night and was cold as we were quarter way through eating. The calamari was decent. Will we ever go there again? NO thanks!

Reeks of cigarette smoke. Good service, huge portions, but they lose points for allowing flagrant breaches of the smoking laws. At two separate times, patrons blatantly lit up in an outdoor dining area right next to the doors to the indoor dining area, with staff constantly walking past and doing nothing. Judging by the smell inside this happens all the time.

We had the veggie breakfast and the big breakfast, poached eggs were cooked perfectly and we were happy with 2 pieces of seeded toast per serving as most cafes only provide one piece of toast. The servings were quite large but we finished off everything. The freshly squeezed orange juice was sweet and yum. Highly recommend.

Waited a little while to order then, then we requested kids meal first as it was taking too long to get the order. Got that 15 min later.<br/>When we asked for the rest of orders they kept lying to us that it's 5 min away and they'd give us free biscuits to forget this (lol we don't want free sugar biscuits we want our 25$ meals x 3 ). <br/>After an hour we said we would walk out if the order wasn't coming, and the waiter said he won't stop us and we could go if we wished to after paying for the kids meal. Then we thought might as well wait another few min. The orders arrived. They were not even cooked properly and quality was of a 10$ meal, not 25$. There was no salt or seasoning. <br/>The mussels had raw vegetables like capsicum, tomato in the sauce, and the mussels were probably off because I got sick. The other dishes lacked seasoning too, not even salt. Only the chips were alright. <br/>If you can't handle big crowds and manage customer expectations properly please don't open such big restaurants. <br/>Have never been to a restaurant this@ horrible in Melbourne.

Went for breakfast last Sunday, it’s a great location at oakleigh, tried the French toast, the service and serving was very generous, a fantastic place and the vibe around Eaton mall is so good.

Came here with a Groupon for the double breakfast with juice. Mixed juice was super nice, thin and interesting. The eggs Benedict were remarkably average, wilted spinach would have been a better side than undressed salad and there wasn’t enough Benedict sauce. The chefs special on the other hand was different, especially enjoyed the accompanying sausage. Would return if in the area and there were more specials

Nice place, friendly staff. The food is simple but nice. The restaurant and area itself was less than half full but it was already quite noisey - so probably not a place to go for a quiet cup of coffee.

With our orders placed, we waited for a meal. While we waited, we watched the staff continue to be frazzled; other less busier staff stood around and chatted while diners were trying to get their attention for service; and we saw the wrong dishes being brought to tables. All in all, Kentro was not making a good impression. Finally our food arrived. The lamb gyros plate was big and heaving with food. The lamb looked and tasted a tad over-cooked. It wasn't as luscious as the lamb we had at Meat Me Souvlakeri. Similarly, the pita bread seemed more chewier than the fluffy ones at Meat Me. The chips were plentiful and came without any seasoning as per our request.

Food is ok here, pretty similar to other places around the Mall in Oakleigh. I love their eggplant dip and they have decent grilled seafood. Good selection of cakes too. However, their service is ridiculously inconsistent - some days are ok, others the service is terrible. On more than one occasion they've tried to (significantly) overcharge us for the bill, staff are slow and keep getting table orders confused and/or lost all the time. I suggest you check your bill there every time, especially if going with a large group/ordering lots of things, because they really have a tendency to add other tables' orders in and overcharge.

Loved the food, Salad was fantastic, I highly recommend you try 🥗🍽. I had the barramundi, also the lamb gyros was so tender and hubby had lamb skewers

On entering we were happily greeted by staff but had to walk through a ploom of cigarette smoke to get inside. We decided to sit as far away from the electronic automatic doors to avoid any smell of smoke. <br/><br/>Coffee and Hot Chocolate was lovely but that is where it stopped. <br/><br/>Due to smokers outside the restaurant inside quickly filled with a wave of cigarette smoke when doors opened.<br/><br/>We ordered the Big Breakfast which was tasteless with no love on the plate. Our sausage was even cut in half! <br/><br/>Disappointing experience! On leaving we were asked how everything was and advised accordingly. Response about smoke was that it cannot be controlled and are eaiting for smoke ban to be introduced.

A large place with an extensive menu however does not manage to cater adequately to vegans. The food is nicely presented but what you order from the menu is mostly just taken from the display & heated up in the microwave. The moussaka was ok, salad nice & fresh. The beef "ragout" was just pasta & chunks of meat nothing very special. The burger was ok and chips quite good. The vegetable ravioli would have been good except it was drowned in too much melted cheese. The highlight was the dolmadi and whitebait for entree. Overall it's more about quantity than quality and wouldn't return.

Booked kentro for my sons christening upstairs.. excellent hospitality, alot of food and great service at a very good price.. i definitely would recommend it.. thankyou to Anna and staff.

Well, Oakleigh bustling as usual for an early Saturday evening. This restaurant has 2 sittings 6.30 and 8.30pm we chose the 6.30 sitting. Still quite a few people in the restaurant. Quite a noisy place but what place isn't in Oakleigh!!!<br/><br/>The service was prompt and staff friendly but a little hard to understand.<br/><br/>The meals - well big to say the least but tasty, not really. My calamari salad was on a large bed of rocket but didn't come with a dressing even a simple oil and vinegar. I asked for oil but it didn't really make much difference. The calamari was BBQ but not enough to achieve a crispy BBQ texture and was quite soft. Disappointing really.<br/><br/>One of my friends meals was late and we had already started ours.<br/><br/>Finally the menu listed Tasmanian Tiger Prawns!!!! Really - maybe they have migrated.<br/><br/>Overall disappointing. I was over charged $10 for my takeaway desserts. Wouldn't return to this establishment. Plenty of others to choose from.

The cute design in the cappuccino was great and cheerful. Tasted really nice and not to hot as some taste like burnt milk. The food also was really nice with a menu for everyone's likes. Very busy on the weekends which means people are liking this venue as a few seemed empty around the place of the mall. I had the meat platter for 2 which was very much served with a lot of food and not overly pricey. The prices seemed normal mains prices and yes I will be telling my friends of this place. Nicely done and service was reasonably ok.

UPDATE: Had lunch here, food was average not fresh - just warmed up. Extremely overpriced for what you get. I’m not sure what happened to the service here but it was pretty disappointing. We had a waitress roll her eyes at us when we asked where our forgotten order was, this was so uncomfortable! My family tried many deserts and none of us where happy with them. They tasted old. <br/><br/>I was pleasantly surprised with Kentro. It doesn't look too crash hot from the outside, not fancy at all but really doesn't bother me when receiving such great service. The staff here were all so lovely. I interacted with about 4 of them all up, extremely friendly, had character and a sense of humour. <br/>I had a greek coffee and it was one of the best I've had - it wasn't bitter at all which is sometimes the case when ordering greek coffee. I also had a small canoli and it was perfect! It was fresh, crunchy and delicious! Very impressed mmm mmm. The menu didn't appeal to me but I'll definitely be back for coffee and sweets.

Booked to go to kentro only a few hours ahead of time as it was in the entertainment book. The menu has a good variety of dishes, not just Greek food as you may expect. Whilst the food was okay and the staff were friendly I was distracted during the meal by the lingering smell of cigarette smoke from the outdoor seating area. The doors are automatic so they were opening and closing all night, letting the smoke come inside. We ordered the meat platter for two, and barely even got through it between the 3 of us! The saganaki was delicious.

Guys the desserts here are just wow. I've had the new Ferrero cake and anyone that likes the ferrero rochers would like this too. Nearly every week a new cake is created to meet the desires of a sweet tooth person.

Very disappointed. Microwaved meat and dishes. Denied but quite obvious from its taste, look and texture. It had none. Staff good but does not make up for the food which is why we are all there. Customers are more discerning where food is concerned nowdays and we won't be fobbed off. It's not hard to deliver tasty good food. Or is it?

Just been there for lunch today had the super food salad - it was probably one of the best salads I have had - loved it - told my co-workers - we all going back there next week -!!!

Went to Kentro on Sunday afternoon for my friend's Belated birthday dinner. Really enjoyed the tasty food & drinks & fantastic hospitality!<br/>The open Souvlaki was really tasty and moorish and great idea to include 3 kinds of meats. <br/>Washed it down with a few cold beers & then desert of a very layered and delicious chocolate cake and Greek coffee! <br/>Kentro is my new favourite in Oakleigh & will definitely visit again !

Reading the reviews from the past I was sceptical, but clearly Kentro have made a change for the better. <br/><br/>Came in to have a quick breakfast before catching the train. Our server was polite, friendly, and welcoming. I don't know what it was about the King Tower, but I came in to the restaurant starving and left feeling like I won't need to eat for the rest of the day. I was absolutely stuffed. The coffee was different to the standard coffee you'd find in Melbourne. Bitter and tangy, it was a welcome change to the usual style you'd find. While I'm not a expert, I suspect it's was a more Greek-style coffee (please correct me if I'm wrong).<br/><br/>For those who dislike the smoking... It's a Greek cafe/restaurant in Oakleigh. Of course there's going to be old Greek men smoking, drinking coffee, and chatting. To expect anything other than that would be un-Australian. Sit inside if you come here with children or those who wish to avoid the smoke (such as myself). <br/><br/>Looking forward to coming back and trying some cakes.

Came in on labour day. Ordered chef's choice and omelette for breakfast. Top it with cappuccino and piccolo. Generous portion and average coffee. Nothing extraordinary but definitely satisfies your brunch crave. Would come back again in near future after a morning stroll.

Went here today for a look at little Greece with a Greek friend, nice Greek coffee and a Greek bread roll call a Koulauri and covered in sesame seeds, slight hint of aniseed. Look at the other sweets and dishes they looked nice. <br/>What's with all the smoking, every persons is chewing on a cigarette, had to go.

Went here for the first time and probably will be the last.<br/>Service was friendly however to my disappointment the food isn't that great! Average at best. <br/>Their cake display looked great so may try it one day

Best place in Oakleigh. I've been to Kentro a few times since they opened and i can say by far they are the best shop in the Oakleigh mall. Quick and polite service, beautiful food and outstanding cakes. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere complemented the shop very well. See you all soon!

OMG have you tried the cakes. The portions are so big, and the meals. Had a birthday on Saturday and had a beautiful time the music playing in the background, he might just need a backup but otherwise he was really good. Waitress was very friendly staff behind bar where helpful as we need to split the bill and no problem, where others don't like doing that. All that I can say is well done and see you very soon .

Had lunch with my girlfriends at Kentro. Never been before and was very impressed. Food was awesome <br/>Service was great coffee was the best in Oakleigh by far. If anyone needs a good coffee then Kentro is the go. Will definitely come back. Keep up the good work xo

Came to Kentro on Wednesday night and it was beautiful! They had a greek band playing which really lifted the atmosphere and made me feel like i was in greece again, something the other places in Oakleigh dont necessarily have. The service was exceptional, and the food was very good for the price the portions were massive! I will be going back shortly!

The Dear Luncher stopped in to Kentro whilst meandering through the umm, aromatic surrounds of Oakleigh. Oakleigh is full of surprise smells. Some good, some not so good. Kentro is a well positioned eatery offering a plethora of culinary choices ranging from breakfast options, Greek fare and thereafter a smattering of par for the course options like pizza. Kentro has something for everyone at any time of day it seems.<br/><br/>Not a bad little setup and worthy of your attention. Inside and outside dining spaces. Decent coffee. Polite and attentive staff gets Kentro an extra .5.

Had a lovely dinner with friends the food was excellent service was great as well anything we needed they had it to our table in a flash. Thanks guys for a lovely night

Have been here before during their early stages and my first experience wasn't the best. I think they have made some good improvements since my last visit. Lovely atmosphere and good range of cakes, light meals and main meals. Service is pretty good too for such a big venue. Only problem is it can be quite loud with live music on the weekends.

Crap service with bad attitude. Not good for families as the smoking tables are undercover and not out in the open so we all inhaled smoke regardless of the fact that we didn't want to. Food took forever and the head waiter needs to be trained in customer service and reminded to be careful how he speaks to customers because if it wasn't for their customer they would not survive and may get smacked by someone on the end of his nose. My recommendation is to go anywhere but there in OAKLEIGH as its got to be better than this place. Try other places before this one because if it's the first time dining in the area you won't know what the others offer. If we could have got up and left we would but unfortunately due to being shoved in a corner like sardines.

Tried this place now for the 2nd time given they were the only place with tables available - perhaps a reason why they have lots of unoccupied tables? <br/>To be fair the food, when it came, was very late and disgraceful especially for the $70 seafood platter which you could do better at a fish and chip outlet. The service was woeful. The senior lady owner needs to go! Rude and not interested in what we had to say as if she had somewhere else to be...We were shown to our table and ordered drinks. It was just over 1 hour before we got our food! Microwaved mixed grill platter for the others on our table and the chips were cold! Seriously never again! Go around the corner to Orexi where the queue spills onto the streets! It must mean something! Just as well that our company was good coz the food & service was terrible!! Look after your customers because when you don't others will!

I highly recommend the meat platter for $59.90 or the Calamari Salad $21.90.  However, the serving of Tziziki that accompanies the meat platter is pathetic.  It's just about enough to cover one of the many meat options or barely enough to enjoy two of the bread triangles.  surely, apart from the perfectly seasoned and cooked chips, it's the next cheapest item on the platter.  Why on earth be so stingy with it is beyond me???<br/><br/>Oh, and don't bother with the current seafood platter.  It's no way near worth the $70 price tag.<br/><br/>However, the big issue is customer service.  The international staff from Chile, Greece etc. are all friendly enough.  It is the middle aged female owner/manager who ruined our experience.  So unfriendly, aloof and rude.
