I had their Vegetable Tofu Hotpot after speaking to a second server and clarifying that I wanted it vegan, and having to double check they understood.
I was pleasantly surprised by the meal they served, although it wasn't in a hotpot, it was piping hot to eat, with lots of fresh veg (baby corn, wong bak, broccoli, zucchini, green beans, carrot, shutaki, straw mushrooms, black fungus), water chestnuts and freshly deep fried silken tofu, the only fault was the zucchini was a little under. It was a very large serving and I could have taken half home, but it was so delicious, I ate it all..
If I was in the area again I would definitely have it again. It was fairly easy to find on street parking on a Friday night and we were seated upstairs. Felt safe that the restaurant was pretty covid compliant.
Hands down best Chinese in Sydney. Have a wonderful experience every single time I eat here. The manager goes above and beyond to ensure the patrons are happy. Personally recommend the three cup chicken, but honestly you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. It’s best to call and make a reservation because it often packs out around seven.
This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. The food is outstanding. There's a standard range of Chinese food but then you have a range of fusion food that is mouth wateringly amazing.
It can get pretty busy on a Friday/Saturday which does mean for dinner it's not the speediest of meals but it is well worth the wait!
If you like Brussel sprouts you absolutely have to try the brussel sprout and cauliflower dish - even if you don't you should probably try it! We've converted many a devout anti-brussel sprouts person.
Since moving to Sydney 4 months ago we have been on the lookout for good takeaway places as we don't tend to get out for dinner much anymore with a baby.... we have been extremely disappointed... until we tried Oatley Chinese!!! From wo to go this place was great, a nice polite man on the phone to take our order and the manager delivered our order to us on time and piping hot and the food was absolutely delicious- and BIG serves with fresh ingredients. After eating we did not feel disgusting and we had heaps leftover! A special mention to the man who delivered our food (sorry I forgot your name) he was so friendly, welcoming us to Sydney and giving us some recommendations for dishes to try next time as well as sharing some knowledge about the area. We will definitely be back - keep doing what you're doing 😊
This is a really great, local Chinese restaurant - a hidden gem you probably wouldn't know about unless a local. Food is super high quality, they use great ingredients and good cuts of meat, not too oily and generous portion sizes. I would recommend the Chinese dishes over the Malaysian ones. Highlights are the shredded beef in peking sauce and lemongrass lamb - the best I've ever had! Only downfall of this place is that it feels a bit pokey, and it can get so busy that the staff are very rushed, so you can be left waiting for quite a long time before they take your order or bring food to the table. Also you wouldn't come here for the ambience - the colour scheme and lighting is very white/bright and when there are big/loud groups dining the sound bounces off the walls. They do a lot of takeaway orders which means the kitchen can be super busy. But, when your food finally arrives, it's totally worth the wait. Make sure you book for special occasions (like Chinese New Year) and Friday/Saturday nights.
