Review Gateway Cafe - Orford

If you're heading North the Gateway Cafe is located just before the bridge that crosses the Prosser River. They do great coffee and there are plenty of lunchtime food options. If it is a nice day it is well with sitting outside as there is a nice view of the river from the deck

Meal ok, nothing too great just had a toasted roll which was a little cool in the middle but not enough to send back. Coffee, chips and dessert just fine. Though kind of all served in the reverse order. The signage that includes the islands of Tasmania seemed a little geographically incorrect (see pic), did kinda make me wonder about attention to detail elsewhere. Largely seems to be a venue for the owner to keep their purchased sporting memorabilia though.

Who would've thought, a cafe this good in the middle of nowhere. Fantastic. My wife and I were most impressed, like a breath of fresh air. They had a great selection of gluten free foods to my wife's delight, and I swear to god, the Bacon and Egg roll I had would have to be the best I have have ever had by far, and I am pretty old. Top shelf coffee and friendly professional service to match, you couldn't ask for more. Ten out of ten for the Gateway Cafe😊😊😊

Wow, that pretty much covers my review. Awesome food and service at an amazing location. This place is extremely busy during the Xmas season but the wait is worth it. Scallop pies and Vanilla slice are a must washed down with great coffee.

Very pleasantly surprised with the range of pies, pastries and frittatas on offer. The BLT was delicious and a generous serving. The muesli slice is the best I’ve ever had. Good service and reasonable prices.

A nice stop over after a bit of driving - your typical small country cafe. Unfortunately, we missed the lunch menu when we came in and could only order from the cold display cabinets. I had a sweet potato frittata and it was not too bad. Nice that they offer a few vege options. My family enjoyed their food. The toilet needs a good clean though. Nice staff and ambience is ok.

Not too bad, coffee was ok, carrot cake was moist and nice. Felt quite welcome, however EFTPOS machine wasn’t working. My thing is as a coffee drinker, and NOT just for this place, almost EVERYWHERE, such a performance is made about coffee, but tea, just a bag chucked in a cup, with milk, yuk! For the price any cafe charges, tea should be served in a pot with a cup and saucer, or mug, and a small lidded jug of hot water and jug of milk! That’s my 2cents!!
