Review Siderno - Osborne Park

Debbie Patino
Great food and excellent service. Staff were friendly and easy to have a laugh with. Will definitely be going back again soon.

Since moving to Perth 7 years years ago, Sidernos was one of the first restaurants I went to and loved it - the food and the service was impressive. However the last time I had a great experience at Sidernos was on my 60th Birthday, 3 years ago, since then I feel they have gone downhill significantly in all aspects. I have still been going there but not as often, hoping each time they had improved but last night was the worst experience I've had. From stale garlic bread, seriously overcooked chips, messy presentation of my meal and desserts that looked days old in the display cabinet - I will not be returning or recommending this restaurant. The service was also not that good either, sadly

We had arranged to go to another restaurant up the road bit did not want to wait an hour for a-la-carte service. Went to Siderno withoit booking and had tasty good food great service. Highly recommend.

Bloody Beautiful! Just delicious food, came out nice and hot, generous serves. I really enjoyed it and look forward to going back.

Fantastic food. Great service. I highly recommend Siderno for a great place to catch up and enjoy an amazing meal.

Really great food. Well deserved visit for lunch or dinner.

Nice little restaurant, food is good but it is quite overpriced. Service was okay; a smile wouldn't kill anyone nor would a little bit of friendly enthusiasm. Food took over 50 minutes to be served when the restaurant was barely at 30% capacity which was a bit disappointing. I ordered the Caesar Salad with Calamari; $31 meal, was nice but smaller than expected, my meal was the last to be served up and then I was advised I needed to wait another 5 minutes for my poached egg which to be frank is a bit ludicrious. I am happy I tried this place but won't be returning nor recommending.

We went there for my partner’s birthday last night 3rd July. I also celebrated my birthday dinner there last January. Generous serve of food and polite and friendly service. It’s the second time that the gentleman served us. I think he’s the owner. Good old fashioned service that’s why we go back. After the 4 days lockdown, he accepted my entertainment voucher, if he said no, I would understand. I’m happy that he gladly honoured it. Let’s support the restaurant business. Thank you

Sadly our experience at this local restaurant was not the best. After taking a mouthful of my meal I discovered that I was eating plastic. We reported this to the wait staff and then the Manager. Unfortunately the service from the Manager was really disappointing. Given this could have had serious consequences, the Manager dismissed our complaint and explained that this happens when the kitchen staff open takeaway containers near the food. He was far from accommodating and honestly left us speechless with his lack of care or concern. There was no effort to make the situation right and this means we won't return. I would prefer to spend my money where customers are actually welcomed. Unfortunately I can't comment on the food as this really detracted from any enjoyment. Corkage was expensive and meal prices have increased substantially since we last went.

We have just been for lunch and WOW Entre main dessert were amazing! we will def be back great service and sublime food! will be telling all our friends and family, best italian food in perth and best meal out in a very long time

The Caffe Ristorante has a wonderful relaxed feeling ,warm and friendly. We have dined here many times we ordered Bruschetta which was very tasty and shared a dish of Calamari which was tender though lightly floured could have been a tad crispier . I ordered a lovely Moscato from list which was very drinkable very fruity with a sweetness on the palate . Loved the ambience and the fire going on in the Pizza Oven. The service was excellent, though why are Italian Restaurants charging so much for Main Meals? Also Specials should be special regards to cost ? Lovely little alfresco dining at front it's a substantial Ristorante plenty of room. .... I love Siderno🌹

Service was crap...Main meal I had (osso bucco).....meat did fall off bone but bed of risotto rice tasted like detergent....my wife had ..spinach pumpkin salad with chicken..spinach dressing was disgusting & chicken was bland. Kids meals was ok...chicken nuggets & chips... Won't be going back.

Excellent food and service, authentic Italian food! Lovely and clean place with friendly staff! We loved it, will definitely be back! 👏🙋👍🍷😎

The service you can’t fault and the food was nice, but was in for a shock at the end of the night when found Corkage was excessive at $8.5 per bottle = Total $17.00 to our bill and no prices on the nights special, so for 2 small serves of Goldband with mashed potatoe and asparagus $42.50 each... Shame, the way the economy is there is better value for money elsewhere.....Sad but with those prices we won’t be back....

We ordered an entree to share between 3 and they took it on themselves to add extra serves to it and charged us for it. Even when we didn’t want or need the extra. Main meal I wanted no chip or salad but mash instead and they said that was fine but then charged for that too, I wouldn’t have made the change if I had been told about the additional charge. Service was ok but we won’t be back. A meal for three was over $200.

Quiet birthday dinner tonight......beautiful food - veal cotoletta amazing!! Service excellent, wine delightful and the serves huge.......food coma on the way home. Have been many times before but this was by far the best yet - close to home so will continue to go as much as possible

Amazing food no matter what I order, service is exceptional always! Every time we have a cousins catch up, we don't even need to decide on a place to go as this restaurant has become "Our usual" place to go.. Recommend you do your taste buds a favour and try it out!
Vincenza Sciorsci
The food was disappointing for what you pay for, my husband and I ordered grilled calamari and what got served was very tiny calamari with no flavour and chowing! Unfortunately I will not going back!
Mike Teraci
Service was good but the food was disappointing for what you pay for. Unfortunately I won’t be going back there again.

Shockingly bad i interperson of Italian food<br/>

It’s an embarrassment to call this place an Italian restaurant, small to medium size portions of canteen food at ridiculously high prices. For a Saturday night it was poorly patronised and I can see why! Luckily the company was good, which was one positive of the evening.

Delightful staff and even better food. It's the real thing here. <br/><br/>The special when we visited recently was a Duck Confit. Unusual to order this at an Italian Restaurant, but seriously it was superb. Tender, moist and beautifully presented. <br/><br/>Other dishes were the pasta and a vegetarian dish. Good range of wine and lovely deserts.<br/><br/>It's always nice to meet the owner-manager and to talk about his home-town; in Sicily. Great conversation.<br/><br/>Recommended.

I ordered from Siderno this evening on Uber eats and it was delicious! The spaghetti was perfectly cooked which sometimes isn’t the case in take away pasta! The garlic bread was really good too

Being half Italian, I am a VERY fussy critic when eating at an Italian restaurant.  I joined a friend at Sidernos for lunch and we had chosen a pasta dish and the fried calamari.  Both dishes were superbly cooked and flavoured.  Pasta is a very tricky dish to please the majority with.  Most of us enjoy the pasta just cooked through.  Some like it well cooked and some people's idea of al dente is almost crunchy noodles!  Well as far as I'm concerned, the chef got ours perfect.  I'm sorry to see the reviews below.  Maybe a different chef?  In regards to 'dips'.  True Italian dips ARE olive oil based if you do a little research.  We were served the whole time by the actual owner himself and he was very friendly and attentive.  I will definitely be going back for more....I even ordered a dish to take home for dinner!

Since Siderno’s was taken over by new owners a few years back, I keep trying to give this place another shot as it used to be one of our favourite local restaurants. However, tonight is the last night I’ll ever go back. We ordered 2 specials and they were both awful. The starter was bread with dips. The bread was burned and the dip was olive oil. That’s not a dip. A dip in my opinion, is an actual sauce created by the chef to dip the bread into. My main was spaghetti with clams, white wine, garlic, chilli and Parmesan. It just tasted of pasta, dipped in olive oil and garlic. There was no other flavour, zero seasoning. So disappointing. I’ve read other reviews here and there are so many that seem to say the same thing yet the management do nothing about it. This place isn’t cheap so really the chefs need to be making a better standard of food and the management need to buck up their act and start listening to patrons. I miss the old Siderno’s. The food was flawless every time. So unfortunate, but won’t be returning. I’ve given this new management too many opportunities.

Overpriced and very average food. Very pushy staff and they make you order too much food. Dark, gloomy and unappealing atmosphere. Would not recommend and won’t go back

This was one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a very long time. The service was relatively okay however the pasta was absolute rubbish. We ordered the spaghetti bolognese and spaghetti marinara and they were both bland and tasteless. The worst Italian I've ever had in my life. The people didn't seem to care about our opinion either. With a price tag of $32/meal I expect highly quality food which unfortunately this restaurant did not provide. If you're after authentic Italian look elsewhere!

Not sure where to really start with this review. Had dinner at Siderno Caffè for my mums birthday. The manager was lovely and really lifted the atmosphere of the place however we did encounter a few problems during our meal. Firstly, we received bruschetta with cheese despite asking for it without.. No biggie, however the server took the cheese off before setting the same dish back on the table. I can't comment on the other meals but I had the spaghetti marinara and my husband, the spaghetti bolognese. Both pasta dishes lacked flavouring and needed quite a bit of salt added. The waiter started clearing our plates while some of us were still eating which just made us feel so rushed. For dessert a few of us ordered ice cream only to find a hair deep half way through eating it. My husband notified the manager who attempted to joke about it, telling us that it was from the factory and not the restaurant. Overall this Caffè has alot of potential to be a really good Italian restaurant unfortunately, I'm unsure I'll be back.

Used to be a fave, a great reliable Italian meal. But last night was highly disappointing and we won’t be back. One of us had a big shard of hard plastic in her meal, that she discovered once it was already in her mouth. Both wait staff and manager/owner completely brushed it off and actually walked away whilst we were complaining. Their explanation was less that satisfactory and had no concern for the fact the potential harm. Reading reviews it appears it’s not the first time it has happened! My meal was garlic prawns. The prawns were very over cooked and rubbery. They bowl was half full with just melted butter with hardly any garlic and no chilli as described in the menu. Very disappointed.

Calabrase, and The prosciutto pizzas are both mind blowing, amazing crust, compliments to the pizza chef! <br/>The gnocchi is also awesome, good food and good atmosphere. <br/>

Undercooked papadelle with overcooked prawns. Also a very dry pasta dish - a dash of olive oil and chilli and garlic would have helped. Not been here for years so I thought I would give them another go. Not again I am sorry.

Very average experience to say the least. Tasteless dishes that missed all the ticks. Questionable bill charges with regards to ordering Pizzas. We had a previous enjoyable meal/ occasion at Siderno hence the return. Unfortunately this occasion was a dud.

I used to come here all the time as it was the closest Italian place to me. I stopped coming because it just got too pricey and some new restaurants around us became a better alternative. Tried this place again last night for the first time in years and unfortunately it reminded me of why it wasn't worth going anymore. The food was actually passable but the service was extremely stuffy and everything seemed too much of an effort. We paid close to $100 for 2 pastas, a kids pizza and 2 wines. <br/><br/>Mum rating- they don't like kids. Didn't bother offering a high chair. No colouring in or kids cutlery or any other thing like that. Kids menu just the usual but at $16.50 per item just for the dish and no drink or anything else, it's not worth it. We were sitting on the couch and my daughter shuffled along the couch so she was at the next table and within 5 secs she was told off by a waitress 🙄 That was the most attention we had received the whole time. Mind you that was at 530pm and there were only 2 other tables in the restaurant, not even close to us, so it wasn't like she was disturbing anyone. No big deal really but just reflective of their aversion to kids so just go here without them.

After the disappointment of my sisters 17th b'day lunch we decided to go out again for dinner to celebrate... She is now 20 and we are still waiting for our meals. <br/><br/>If I wanted store bought pasta I would have gone to aisle 15 at Coles and made it myself... 1.5 points to you and 3.5 to Leggos
I.live.to.eat
very very very expensive prices! paid $26.50 for a small portion of pasta, and a small cup of tiramisu or slice of cake (very thin) is $11.50!!! food wasn't well seasoned so not very tasty. won't be returning.

Food is very average for the prices that they charge. Asked for a pasta with mushrooms instead of bacon because I am allergic and there was not a single mushroom in the dish and got charged extra for this. They also do not put prices on their specials menu, got charged $47.50 for a small piece of snapper with mash potato and salad which looked very average. $10 charge to BYO birthday cake. Manager is rude and all about sneaking in extra costs. I am very disappointed and will not be returning here again. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND unless you want average and over priced food.

Authentic Italian at reasonable prices. Some of the best wood fried pizza I have had outside of Italy and my absolute favourite in Perth.<br/><br/>Dinning is nice but casual and they can accomodate for large groups easily.

<br/>Lovely waiter!<br/>But when I got a small hair in my pizza - no apology, no goodwill gesture - couldn't eat anymore!!! Totally put off and let down!!

I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed. We have been here before and had a great night. Friendly service, good food and fair value. Apparently they now have new owners and it's fair to say we had a terrible night. The service was bordering on rude, the prices are inflated and the food was just OK. The night didn't start well when the entrees were served with a fly in the olive oil and balsamic dip. When I pointed this out to the wait staff he took it away and brought a fresh one without as much as an apology. Water was not provided to the table and fresh cutlery was not provided for the mains. We ordered 2 seafood platters for the main (now at $95 each) and was disappointed to see that the fresh fish is now salmon and not barramundi. There was ample food, and the quality was ok. But for $95 bucks no one felt like they got value. Even if we wanted desert and coffee, no one came over to ask us. In the end we paid the bill and walked across the road to Ameretto for friendly service, great coffee and cake. Good luck if you are going to Siderno any time soon. We will not be.

Extremely disappointed. We used to be a regulars at this restaurant until moving away about 10months ago. After moving back into the area recently I was super excited to again become a regular but alas that won't be happening. The place has obviously changed management or owners and it has gone significantly downhill. All our favorites from the menu were gone, the salmon and barramundi were particular faves, large portions, great sauces and good decent salads but the fish I ordered instead was very average, horrible little salad in a bowl with 1 piece of tomato and a bit of drizzle as sauce on the fish...fish portion much smaller as well. The staff were friendly but the service is nowhere near as good. It really is the small things you notice, like having to call someone over for a drink refill.... was never the case before. Didn't seem nearly as busy and you can see why.... needs major improvement. I recommend going elsewhere.

Went to Siderno in Osborne Park for lunch today. We ordered bruschetta as an entree and all three of us ordered the fish of the day which was schnapper with a king prawn lemon sauce. I asked for mine without the prawn as I'm allergic to shellfish. In due course, two mains arrived (no sign of the bruschetta) for the other two in my party. Then mine arrived, king prawn sitting regally atop the fish. The waiter stated, 'You said you didn't want prawn, but just take it off and give to someone else.' I gave him the plate back, telling him again that I was allergic and he started to protest. My sister mentioned the word, 'anaphalaxis', at which he made a backward sweeping motion with his hand towards her, which was obviously body language for 'Shutup!'<br/>He then took the plate away. Later, another waiter brought a replacement. As we were leaving, I asked if the manager was around, so I could report the incident, which could have been life threatening. HE WAS THE MANAGER.<br/>I'm giving this a minimum rating, not because the food was bad, but because the manager obviously has no concept of service.

Really disappointed with the service and quality of food. Came in looking to just have a couple of coffees and drinks as it does say "Caffe" in its name. Anyway, the lady looked very disinterested because we weren't having food. Wasn't really helpful. Very abrupt and just sat us down and left us. In the end, we did end up ordering quite a bit of food for lunch. The pizza wasn't very nice. The salad was full of dressing and the fish were fillets that were way over cooked in oil. We also just wanted tap water but were given still water. <br/><br/>I run my own business and I really didn't want to write this as I know what the power of testimonies does to a restaurant but I do sincerely hope the owners read this. You're killing your business. I really serve my customers and do whatever I can (within reason) to make their whole experience with my brand amazing. Yes, sometimes I miss out and lose money but a business doesn't just survive on its product. It's the whole user experience, as soon as someone walks in right up until they leave. So everything has to be in sync. It's a lot easier to sell something to an existing customer, than always having to try and get new customers.

Originally we were heading to The Lido but it was closed?! So decided we'd give Siderno a try as it is literally next door.  We're not one's who usually go out to Italian Restaurants being more pulled to Asian fusion cuisine.  Walking in the decor was really modern and pleasant - we were quickly seated.<br/>After chatting with the lovely waiter he advised us of which were crowd favourites and portion sizes.  We ordered the entree calamari to share, the pollo scallopini and gnocchi.<br/>The food came out lightning fast and the calamari was delicious and a generous size.  Next our mains, also huge portions - the scallopini had well seasoned prawns and the creamiest, garlicky sauce. The gnocchi was in a pumpkin sauce was piping hot, fluffy and well cooked with the walnuts cutting through richness of the dish.  To finish off we shared the profiteroles.  I also ordered an expresso martini which as a self-confessed expert with high standards - it was pretty good!   The pizza's looked equally delicious.... It was safe to say we rolled out of the place into our Uber - thanks :)

15/10/16 We ordered 2 Calabrese. The pizzas were burned on the bottom and raw on top.. crust was soggy and very thin. Very very oily.<br/>I'm sorry to say but something is wrong there... Sometimes you get the best pizza ever and sometimes you get this ... <br/>They really need to improve the quality of the pizza ... it can't be different every time you go!

I was not impressed by the service. The older gentleman who seemed like the owner was very rude and abrupt. It was lunch time and there was only a small handful of tables in the very large restaurant so there was no excuses. We even saw him make fun on some customers behind their back. Food was overpriced and nothing spectacular.

Was there on my sister's bday on a weekday. Everythng else was good. Thought that the lamb cutlet wasn't cook well through and it was cold inside. And when up to pay staff a man wasn't friendly and just threw my card on the desk n I found that very rude and disrespectful. I understand my card failed the 1st tym when to my seat to get another card out and he looked at me as if I didn't had cash. N I went there with a group of 13 adults and 3 babies in total. After all this, I had a infant that needed a nappy change and it was towards the closing of the restaurant. Went to the disabled toilet and while changing the lights went off and Cldnt see though at all and I didn't had my phone with me. So I had to hold my baby in one hand and walk holding the wall on the other hand n figure myself to the main door and ask them to in the light ! Then the guy said oh sorry the kitchen helper Cldnt have just switch off the light. So I went back to the toilet to continue changing my baby and again the blady lights went off, the staff wasn't courtesy enough to knw that I was still inside the toilet with my baby so again I had to do the same thing to the main door and shouted across wads happening! This time I was fuming mad 😡 and after all this leaving the restaurant the staff wasn't friendly or courtesy to say goodbye or anything but bzy cleaning the restaurant and Nt even apologetic ! This is he last tym I will go back there!

Have been here a couple of times as it is the closest Italian to where we live. Today we had the Tropicana pizza, risotto, spaghetti marinara and pork belly. Decent Italian food though I could confidently say there are many more better ones around.

Went for dinner last night. I have been a regular customer for years. Noticed a new menu with big price hike and much smaller portions. No hot deserts on a cold winters night. We might have to find a new favourite restaurant....

Nice, spacious modern Italian restaurant run by Italians - so it gives it a bit more of an authentic feel. Service was friendly enough. We ordered a serve of garlic bread and 2 mains of Spaghetti Con Arrosto Di Zucca (pumpkin, spinach, chilli) and the pasta of the day of Beef Ragu in tomato based sauce with tube pasta. The spaghetti was simple, pumpkin cooked nicely and definitely feel the chilli through the dish - it was however a little dry and wished it had a bit more of the pumpkin and spinach. The beef ragu pasta was flavoursome, beef cooked well and tender too - once again not that generous with the meat. For dessert we ordered the vanilla panna cotta - simple, good consistency and tasty. Overall was an average experience, nothing unique.

We have been going for many years, this will now STOP!!<br/>I have never been treated so rude in my life!! I was told that the dinner i had served to me 3 TIMES DUE TO BEING WRONG was my mistake ( i always order the same thing)<br/>When i finally got my dinner my family had finished and due to being treated so rudely i did not feel like eating it!<br/>When i went to pay i was repeatedly told i was the RUDE one (never actually allowing me to reply to her)  <br/>I would not recommend this place based solely on the Customer service!!!
Le Grand Chef
I have been here a few times and the restaurant is always busy, so it is best to book in advance. <br/><br/>The service is friendly and there are lots of choices. <br/><br/>My favourites are the Antipasto platter, lamb and the Panettone bread and butter pudding.<br/><br/>They also sell packs of 10 pizza bases, if you want to make your own pizza at home.<br/><br/>Siderno is licensed, but you can BYOW.

Nice restaurant, take away the pricing is very good but dine in is a bit on the high side. Good Italian fare, busy and great service.<br/><br/>VALUE: 3/5 decent fare the price is high but serving is massive and maintains quality. It's on the entertainment card which is good. Take away is substantially cheaper. The sides though at $9 for a few potatoes and roasted vegetables are unacceptable and overpriced.<br/><br/>QUALITY: 3/5 good Italian food. Bit heavy on the cheese and oil. Pasta was cooked to al dente. Nothing special about the pizza except is wood fired. Standard fare, base was a bit rough though and very heavy on cheese to suit the Australian palate <br/><br/>SERVICE: On the slow side but the restaurant for a Sunday evening was 3/4 full and they were very friendly.<br/><br/>Overall around that area is a good restaurant. Does not beat Freo. Would be better if they used fresh home made pasta and added more vegetables. However honest fare and good for a bite. The tiramisu looked awesome. Only downside are frozen prawns used on the pizza! It was masked by the cheese. Had better. Pasta was spot on!

I really enjoyed my lunch at Sidernos, in an almost empty restaurant the waiter was attentive without being overbearing, the wedges were super good, crunchy and fluffy, carbonara was also good. Coffee here is wonderful, and the restaurant itself is quite nicely set up

Yet another outstanding meal and evening. The food and service never lets me down. Pizza was thin and flavourful and we both had scallopine- I had veal and my hubby had chicken. Thought we didn't have room for desserts until I saw panna cotta! Delicious and perfect way to end. Great coffee too! Keep up the good work, thanks👍
Wally
Most of my experiences here have been very pleasant. Nice people and a good number of dishes done very well. Sometimes if busy they do rush you quite a lot, which is the only thing that takes the enjoyment down.
Kasia01
I do not like to give negative reviews however the service received was far from acceptable. I am surprised by the number of 5 star reviews on this place. Not sure if just got a bad night (or if the staff member in question only works certain nights). We received one meal that was good (steak) and one that wasn't anything special and was overcooked (parma). The service was where it was really lacking however this was relating to one staff member who appeared to be a owner, and as a comment below suggests it may be that we weren't Italian! I felt bad for the staff there and the man who appeared to be the other owner (presumed husband of the lady serving us) as she was at all of them, and they were all lovely to compensate for her behaviour which was something else.<br/><br/>Have noticed that reviews on other sites aren't as favorable and I wish we had picked somewhere else based of them which seemed to be along similar lines to our experience. Upon entering, was pointed a table prior to even anyone saying hello and some menus thrown at us. (Not an understatement). When we asked about a wine recommendation, the said staff member pointed at the menu and huffed and puffed in frustration that it had been 5 seconds she had to wait. We ordered at the same time, and when asked for a simple request (change of a sauce from pepper to mushroom) she pretended to ignore the request and pointed to the menu saying that it isn't an option. We asked if it was possible, and she spent 2 minutes whinging about it before writing down the request which wasn't that difficult.<br/><br/>During the evening, we watched how she was quite aggressive, arrogant and rude to staff and customers alike on various occasions with the table next to us looking at us awkwardly when she slammed a wine cooler in the middle of their table they had put under their chairs for extra space. She spent most of the night power walking, clearing plates while people were still eating, running in to other staff members and telling them off for not watching where they were going. The way she ran around stood out as it was only at 70% capacity and it wasn't needed and truly made you feel like if you weren't out of there in an hour you would get yelled at as well. If I had been with my husband versus a family member, we would have walked out prior to ordering based of her behaviour alone. Pity, as would have given them another go if it wasn't for her service. Really felt bad for the rest of the staff, who as I mentioned earlier were lovely.

One of my favourite places. Even when they're flat out I've found service always good and the food is authentic Italian. Being local we visit here quite often

Best pasta I've had in years!! The menu is so big that it makes it too hard to choose! They serve great coffee and its BYO wine with corkage fee. Always busy on the weekend so make sure you book!

Made a last minute reservation which had disappeared when we got there but the staff were amazing. Found us a spot in the very full restaurant after a short wait. Food was great & came out fast. Service was fast, efficient & friendly even though it was PACKED. Will be back! Thanks for a great night.

Siderno caffe & ristorante is great value. Spacious seating areas. Good size portions. Friendly staff. Some more dessert options would be nice.

Went for lunch on 30/06/15.  I had the steak sandwich, chips and salad which was nice but the steak had a gristle bit in it and more chips would have been better.

Italian delight. What a nice surprise to find this place. The food was fantastic & obviously fresh. The service was friendly & attentive & they were great with our kids. Kids said best pasta they've ever had & hubby said best capretto ever. We'll be back!

Slow to no service. Food was tasteless. Think it was the owner who was the most rude who threw the menus at us after waiting 15 minutes at the table - no apology. Ordered 2 bottles of wine and had to wait another 15 minutes to get glasses. Table behind complained that they had made a booking and were on time for 7pm, and still no food by 820. Will not be going back, definitely don't recommend this place.

RTW. Where Do I start. We ordered our meal for a Sunday lunch we will never forget. My partner ordered Chilli Mussells and I Veal Marsala.<br/>The food arrived with the Chilli Mussel's first, my partner asked for a finger bowl, the waitress replied we don't do them anymore but I'll get you something, that she did . Here you are a hand full of serviettes and a paper cup (I'm not kidding) of water.. My meal with Veal on a potato mashed base, not the potato mash on 2 small pieces of Veal base with a couple of pieces of rocket salad ( looked like they had shot off as only 2 or 3 pieces on it). Fine we all make mistakes so we had our meal with our bottle of wine.<br/>When we finished a waitress come over and said you don't look happy we explained the water bowl issue her reply when picking the paper cup up well you come into Siderdo and its a whole new world and experience. (That she was right) then , the Matre de or senior male waiter came over and asked is everything OK.. We explained again about the Paper Cup. His reply was we do have a water bowls (with lemon in them as well) for how else can you eat the Mussel's. She should had at least given you a glass or a coffee cup.<br/>Oh i'm really sorry that won't happen again he said. I went and paid the bill and while away he came back again said sorry to my partner and said it wont happen again I assure, I hope it won't stop you from returning. He was right it won't happen AGAIN.<br/>Simply our day was ruined by a very ordinary experience.I wouldn't take a chance at Siderno again, " what a digrace"

The interior of the restaurant is nice and the staff are very attentive. Unfortunately the dish we ordered was very disappointing. It was the pumpkin ravioli with chicken. The ravioli was stodgy and the chicken was grey and unappetising.

Good restaurant. Had dinner there last night. We hadn't been for a couple of years and found the décor all changed. Looks great, very modern look black and white. Nice music playing. Food very good. I had the barramundi and husband had the steak, all tasted great. Big selection of cakes. Would definitely return.

Really authentic and excellent Italian pizza. Thank you best pizza we have had since Melbourne! Perth just doesn't usually get it like this restaurant. Good job guys. Will be back for sure.

Never ever again. Went to celebrate mother in law birthday ordered veal cutlets and got veal schnitzel. I asked for it to be well done because I am pregnant. When I got my meal the veal was red inside. They took it back and gave me another which was still red inside and gave the excuse of that is the way it is. So I couldn't eat my meal. It was very disappointing. If they aren't willing to cook meat the way people want it they shouldn't have it on the menu. I could have cooked this meal better myself. But that is not the point I am paying for a meal. I want it the way I like it.Obviously they can' t afford a professional chef. <br/><br/>Waiter also got our order wrong. I wonder how they cope when they are full of customers because it was almost empty when we were there. This was the first and last time I will eat at this restaurant. Very dissatisfied.

Very very average. Poor service. After a very ordinary main course (sparsely topped pizza) staff ignored us whilst clearing other tables and a drinks waiter walked through restarant swigging from a stubby... very inappropriate.<br/><br/>Never going back.<br/><br/><br/>-----05 Dec, 2014-----<br/><br/>Service. Staff are busier clearing tables than checking whether our table of 10 would like sweets or coffee. Very ordinary service.<br/><br/><br/>-----05 Dec, 2014-----<br/><br/>Average to good. Noisy, service ok, pizza ordered was spicy chicken & avacodo. It wasnt spicy and the chicken & avacodo was sparse at best.

Disappointed. One of my all time favourite restaurants, but disappointed today. The cocktails were half a glass full and cost $16.50. I had two; the equivalent of a full glass. At $33, this did not represent value for money. Food is always good value, but stay away from the cocktails to avoid being ripped off.

Great food, Friendly service. I was driving through Osborne Park with some workmates and noticed an Italian restaurant that I had visited a number of years ago while living in Perth. We stopped and decided to try this restaurant out.<br/><br/>The restaurant was quite busy for a Monday night with a number of large groups celebrating various birthdays etc. However we were greeted promptly by staff and immediately seated with menus and drinks orders promptly taken.<br/><br/>We shared some traditional Italian entrees of Arancini, garlic brad and Meat balls which were all delicious. I had a pasta Arrabiata with olives and spicy sausage and my companions had Pollo Scaloppine and Garlic Prawns respectively. Main courses ranged from $26.50 to $36.50 which is very reasonable by Perth standards.<br/><br/>The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was surprisingly good quality for a café of this type. All three of us came away remarking at how much we liked the food and more importantly the ambiance of the restaurant. <br/><br/>We all live interstate and work in Perth Monday to Friday so eat out most nights of the week. This was a hidden gem in the suburbs that we are glad that we found. We will definitely be back there on a regular basis.

Average. Went for a birthday celebration with family and was very disappointed. Had a pasta dish with chicken, mushroom sauce, spinach and sundried tomato. It was bland and oily and the chicken was all brown meat which tainted the rest of the dish. Family thought food was okay, bolagnase was not up to expectations, veggie pizza was good and salad too. So be wary of the pasta dishes... Weird for an Italian restaurant!

No Service - Poor Attitude. Visited Sidernos to celebrate my birthday and experienced a evening never to be forgotten. <br/>The evening started off with us having to chase up our drink order after twenty minutes to only receive three out of the four ordered and had to ask repeatedly for the fourth which involved the waiter taking a bottle of sparkling water from the fridge and carrying it to the table. <br/>Then after waiting for over 45 minutes we had to approach a manager to come and take our order. And there is more - after waiting over 40 minutes for our mains to arrive as three of us had steak or lamb meals we requested steak knives only to be told the restaurant does not have any. This resulted in the steak and one lamb cutlets being difficult to cut and one impossible and the meal returned. All the while our concerns were being addressed with smirks and chat between senior staff/ owners. <br/>On leaving we were offered a better experience next time which we politely declined. A return visit is most definitely not planned.

Bad Taste in the Mouth. It was our first visit and we were quite excited to find a nice Italian restaurant close to where we lived.<br/><br/>My wife indicated to the manager that there were 4 adults and 1 baby and he simply just pointed to a 4-person table with little interest of bringing us to our table. When I mentioned that we needed a bigger table so that we can fit the baby chair, he said just put the seat on the side and refused to give us a bigger table despite the restaurant being 1/4 full. It wasn't even half full when we left at 2pm. <br/><br/>We went on to order our food and everything came out really promptly but the disappointment only grew when we realized that the chilli mussels we ordered smelt bad and upon tasting it had a sour taste to it - it was obviously bad mussels! We signaled to the waitress and told her about it which she then just gave us a face and took it away. No apology and no replacement. We decided to just eat the rest of our food and get on with our day. <br/><br/>The kicker came with we went to get our bill and my wife and I just wanted to inform the head waitress about the bad mussels so they don't keep serving that up to their customers. She went all defensive and said that she isn't a manager and doesn't have any authority to do anything and said she will have to charge us for the mussels nonetheless. She went on with how they only get fresh mussels and it could not have been bad. At this point we got really annoyed and said we wanted to speak with their manager. The lady then signaled to the guy who refused to give us a bigger table and he then came up and grudgingly removed the mussels from our bill.<br/><br/>Integrity and customer service are very important qualities in a business and we are very disappointed with Siderno. Not only is the customer service bad from the moment we stepped in but their integrity at pushing us off by saying they have no manager on the premises and later produced one is a lack of integrity. This will be our first and final trip to your restaurant and we will certainly be letting our family, friends, neigbours around the area know about our experience. Truly a bad taste in our mouth!

AMAZING. Have been here on a few occasions and always enjoyed it but my last visit tops them all! Staff were lovely. Ordered garlic bread as a starter which came very quickly. For mains I ordered Beef Ravioli and my husband ordered spaghetti marinara. When the dishes were servered I thought there was no way I'd be able to eat it all. It was massive! But it was so delishiuos I ate every last bite! My husband was also very impressed and will definitely be going back!

Nothing exciting. Told by friends to try this restaurant , celebrated my birthday there. The food was pretty average. Cannelloni arrived cold and the waiter keep asking when one of my friends is coming which is pretty annoying. Found out later that one of the chef has left.

Good food. I had a take away pasta that was delicious. The restaurant was packed for a Sunday night, so either this place has a lot of happy customers or it's just the place to be seen on a Sunday night in Perth. The latter was pretty obvious as we got eye balled by many tables as we walked in. Sure, we weren't dressed to impress at 6:30 on a Sunday night, but it was a take away order anyway. The food was nice and I was impressed with the serving size. Pasta is expensive in Perth and we pay through the nose so it was nice to get a good tasting, large serve for a change. The only negative was the lack of chicken in the chicken pasta. Plenty of other fillers, not much chicken.
Elssie
Second time to this restaurant and another great night! Quick and friendly service even thought the restaurant was packed out. The wait staff aren't as attentive as they can be but I think that's because the restaurant is crazy busy on wknds. Once you wave one down, they are friendly and prompt with service. I had the risotto of the day which happened to be a chicken and mushroom risotto in a porcini stock. AMAZING!! Packed full of flavour and perfectly cooked. Please make this a regular item on ur menu!

Dont waste your time. We came on a Wednesday evening seven of us to celebrate a friends birthday to a packed restaurant, thinking this was a good sign. Alas after arriving at 6.35pm, waited and waited for a waiter to come and ask us if we'd like wine or starters or even maybe some bread, nothing! waited another 15 minutes then tried to wave down a waiter. finally someone came, we asked for wine and glasses and to order meals. Glasses arrived and we were 1 glass short so asked for another glass. then nothing again. no wine arrived after 30 mins and no one to take our order, by this time we are getting very hungry and thirsty, after about an hour and a half of arriving finally got our wine but only after asking for it to be brought out straight away. we then asked the waiter to take our orders, this seemed to take ages as we could see the waiters going off to other tables of customers who'd arrived well after our group. Finally after I went to the man behind the front desk to complain of our wait, 2 hours after arriving, we were served main meals. Meals were mediocre and probably spoilt by the fact that we'd waited for so long. <br/>All in all none of our group will be returning to this restaurant in a hurry!

Beautiful Italian food, great service, an overall great experience! Definitely will come back to try more deliciousness!
Whatsup
Not great. The food is alright, think it's pretty uninspired. When I pay between $30 and $40 for a meal, I expect something on the plate that I can't do myself in under 30min. On the table was steak&mash (no veg to come with that), pollo parmigiana (exactly the same as in any run of the mill pub), salmon&prawns (salmon over cooked and drowned in sauce). It was pretty tasty though, just very unexciting. <br/>But who the hell is the dude behind the till? The staff is killing themselves to get everyone served and he just sits there glaring at them, with a face like a slapped arse. Loved the Italian waiter with pony tail, Jimmy I believe! He made our night!

Pushy pushy pushy. RUDE, PUSHY, COULDN'T CARE LESS STAFF AND OWNER!!!<br/>I was invited to a surprise birthday dinner at this restaurant. My mother and I arrived first and even though we weren't the ones that organised it, an older man came over and started rattling off stuff about appetisers. As we didn't organise it we just didn't say anything. About half an hour later everyone but the birthday girl had arrived and all of a sudden garlic bread, antipasto platters and arancini balls were bought out to our tables. I told him that we didn't ask for them and to take them back and he just refused saying "Just charge everyone $2 each and it will be fine, it will be fine". He would not listen to anything I was saying. As they don't do separate billing, I took the task of collecting everyones money. After counting, we were short by about $180!!! which was what all of the appetisers cost. It meant that everyone would have to put an extra $7 in. Not the $2 that he said it would be. The owner of the restaurant who didn't leave his seat behind the counter the whole night completely ignored our situation and sat there with a sour look on his face. <br/>Not only this but we were also told to hurry up and choose what we wanted to order before all of the guests including the birthday girl had arrived. Not one of the 26 people that went will ever go to this restaurant again!!!

Beautiful food!. Great food! Good Service! I work in the area and keep going back. High recommended.

Superb food and service!. Every time we go to Siderno's the food and service can never be faulted. Exceptional menu and level of service by all staff. Could not recommend it more!
Nicolette Parker
Very impressed.... I hadn't been to Siderno for about 1.5 years and when I went back for dinner with a friend (they recommended it) I couldn't believe how much it had changed. New decor, new staff, the food and quality of the produce was hugely different to my last experience and was absolutely delicious. Very happy to have been reintroduced to Siderno and it will definitely be added to my list of fave restaurants!
Hannah
The food was foul, it tasted crap, came out cold after waiting for over 45minuets. The staff were so rude and showed no customer service. Will defiantly not be going back!
Renee Lang
Crap rubbish terrible called at 5pm to order takeaway 610 we got our 2 orders penne pasta with creamy sauce was flavourless watery pasta wasn't cooked contaner was half empty
Helena
Appalling lack of courtesy. Turned up for a great night out with friends to find our booking was not recorded. Ok, so mistakes are made. But did the staff have to be so rude and leave us standing in the middle of the restaurant wondering what was happening? No care attitude, height of rudeness, poor customer service and we haven't even eaten there! All we needed was an apology and some acknowledgement of an error. Thank goodness Cafe Amaretto could accommodate us and help us enjoy our evening. Raspberries to you Sidernos!
Mjc
Rude, Rude, Rude. Make sure they have your booking,..booked 2weeks earlier for 10 people,..only to find that they didn't book us in,...upon arriving and hoping to find a solution we are "Rudely" told that we don't have a booking and the head waiter wouldn't even attempt to double check the books,..to tough luck,<br/>Luckily there are restaurants across the road, that are more than happy to accommodate and served beautiful food. Thank you Caffe Amaretto :-)
Jay Cotterell
Terrible slow service. Over priced food. Pizza was pretty good.

Poor Service, Rude and Know how to Overcharge. We went with a group of people and will not go there again. We were charged for things we did not order and the staff are so rude they don't wan't you there but only want your money. The food was ok but with that attitude they should not be in the hospitality industry. They were even rude we we booked over the phone so should have known. Give them a miss.
Win21
Rude staff. My aunty was having a birthday surprise dinner there Sat 10th May, they were fairly booked but we were told they would get us in if possible. Apart from no phone call as they said they would do at 4.35 I phoned them to see if they had any luck with the booking. I was put onto a man who was the rudest person I have spoken to in a long time. After explaining what was suppose to happen, he sighed and said "what, hang on I have 4 other calls coming through, just wait". Well that just made my blood boil, so I politely told him I would not "just wait" and hung up on him! My aunty had a nice surprise dinner but from all the comments I have heard from that night with overcharging, rude staff and total lack of care, I am so glad we didn't waste our time or better still give our hard earned money to Siderno!!!
Eawrose10
Birthday girl. Beware this restaurant is very clever with their hidden charges, we had a birthday there out came antipastos, garlic bread, arancini balls which we didn't order, when we inquired we where told just a few dollars extra, $178 to be exact. This is NOT how a restaurant should be run then charged over the top corkage obviously because we all had a glass of champagne for a toast, myself and 26 people plus friends we tell will be very wary of this restaurant. I fee this is very deceitful. We all had no problems with the food just how we were charged for extras

Appalled. Ordered a takeaway of Veal Parmigiana at Siderno last night - not only Disappointed but digusted to say the least - I I think they now have Amateur Chefs. - The Veal (was it Veal /Baby Beef) was so tough, dry and lacked flavour - my goodness not the work of a Professional Chef - the presentation showed a burnt piece of Veal (no way was it veal)- certainly an insult to have the cheek to sell a meal like this to a customer - if this was presented at a Table it would be sent back in disgust.- How do Restaurants get away with this - Word of Mouth is the best advertisement - they will need to lift their game if they want to improve their Business. A lot of competition surrounds this Restaurant so they cant afford to be slack like this. Certainly wont be going back!!
Claudia
Staff are so rude service is ridiculous the owner takes the cake and eats it to! Hands down worst restaurant me and my family have ever been to they defiantly do not know how to run a business and accommodate to there customers never ever go there you will waste your money and time and will leave angry !
Nik Patata
Food was terrible staff were disrespectful and had no manners will book in 3 million ppl and can only fit 100! Will never ever go there again wouldn't waste my money

Good Food but too much attitude. Good Italian food, bit over priced and some of the dishes can be a little oily but usually it hits the spot. I have found staff to be rather rude at times and have a bit of an attitude and this is when the restaurant is not even busy, unfortunately this can tarnish the dining experience. Whenever I have been there, there seems to be a lot of Italians dining which says something positive about the food. The interior is nice and would be a cosy place to dine during winter; the toilets however are in need of a renovation. I want to dine here more as it is hard to find a good restaurant but unfortunately the attitude has tarnished my experience. Never the less, do give it a try as your experience may differ to mine and regardless i wish this place nothing but success and great wealth and still give it a thumbs up .
Phatty
Pasta was extremely oily, salad was very soggy. Not impressed, especially for the price.

Awesome food, great service. Have been back a few times and always good. Their wood fired pizzas are delicious.

Love for Italian. The food here was really good and you definitely won't leave hungry. Their gnocchi was really something special and their pizzas were too my liking with a thin crisp crust and toppings plentiful but over the top. <br/><br/>But unless you're Italian your self, the service is not very good. I was meeting friends there but was first to arrive. I wanted to order a glass of wine whilst I was waiting but I couldn't get anybody to come to the table until my friends had arrived. <br/><br/>Once my friends arrived I ordered my wine, but it never came anyway. It was really an effort to get a waiter to our table to order food. We tried to call someone over but got a swat/handwave in response. In the meantime I can see Italian couples and families coming in 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes after us, greeted with loud warm welcomes and being tended to immediately. <br/><br/>The food was really amazing. Made with love. I'd go back, but I'll be taking my Italian boyfriend along so I can get served.
MiA
Poor service got completely ignored and the table was not looked after no water was brought and we waited 20 mins after mains and waited for desert to be offered then when we told the staff she showed no car was given

Under new management it looks a lot better however service was shocking on a real quiet night to I'm so disappointed on getting utterly ignored .after we paid I did tell the staff member that I was upset with not getting asked if I wanted tea coffee or desert which I actually wanted however after 20 min of no one asking us we got up and didn't even get asked how our meal was or even caring my comment about service Service is key I'm not coming back

Delicious. Went to Siderno's a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday night. They were very busy but the food & the service was fantastic. My husband & I had a lovely evening. Inside was pretty noisy but we were on the verandah so was great!

Bad pizza. Got some take out pizza tonight. The pizzas were very very average. I got the garlic prawn which came with about one prawn a slice and that's it, had little flavour. Both my mates weren't impressed with theirs either. Not only were the pizzas so average I wouldn't go back, but they had just upped their prices by about 6-10 bucks and it really wasn't worth that money. Dominos has more flavour than this place's pizza.
Krista
We went there for valentines day for some low key plans and were sorely disappointed. I ordered a cocktail and when it came out it was miniature. I should have taken it as a sign. We got our main - me the ravioli Napoli and my partner the risotto of the day. My ravioli wasn't even cooked! Which was pretty poor given it was Straight from the packet like Latina fresh. I was hungry, I really tried to eat it but left half on the plate. It had no real flavour. My partners was more like a soup - literally dripping with a big puddle. It was incredibly salty but had no other real flavour and he said the chicken in it tasted old. We went a couple of cakes for dessert and they redeemed the meal a little. When asked how the meal was at the register we couldn't even lie, my partner said the pasta wasn't cooked - we got no response. would not Go back. Sadly disappointed as the restaurant is near is and looked so promising.

Loved it. Had dinner there last night, food was fantastic and staff very attentive and friendly.. Place was very busy, family friendly... will be definitely going back there.

RUDE STAFF. Went to siderno for lunch yesterday, found the 2 staff that served us to be incredibly rude, the waitress glared at us when she served us, we felt like she was doing us a favour, by speaking to us, (if you don't like your job love leave). Your staff need some customer service training.<br/>The other thing I didn't like was the dirty water bottles, when I asked for a new water bottle, I was told that they were all like that & it was due to the water?, if your water bottles get all brown & scummy on the bottom, replace them or wash them.<br/>Won't be going back.
Lee Macaraig
We celebrated our sons Bday last night and food is average, garlic bread is very salty and one of the pizza we ordered is too salty so watch for it. But the biggest stung we had when paid the bill was the $16.50 charge for cutting our Bday cake after spending more than $300 with our foods and they can't explain why they charged that expensive service. Very disappointed that they taking advantage of the occasion.
Joany
Could be so much better. I enjoyed the food but it was obvious that it was ridiculously understaffed. The staff servicing the tables had so much on their plate, that I felt like getting up to help. Also, if salmon is ordered, you should be given an explanation why you are given a different type of fish, simply stating that you had run out would suffice. I would think twice about returning here, unless better service was guaranteed.
David
Since when have we accepted $30 for a plate of pasta? Wanted to walk out after seeing the menu, instead dropped $80 on 1 pasta, kids pizza and an entree ($20 mind) of salt & pepos squid. Oh and $4 for a cup of diet coke just topped of a bad dining experience.
Mr Vignon Blanc
Very nice pizza, good value. I had a Napolitana pizza which was baked in their wood-fired oven and it was absolutely lovely. It was quite big as well, it filled the whole plate. The waitress was friendly and efficient. I thought it was good value for money at $20. There were lots of people and all seemed to enjoy themselves, to such an extent that it was sometimes hard to hear what my table guests were saying. I would recommend the place. Note that I do not know the owner or any staff and this is my honest opinion.
Debbie Cousins
Delicious. Just had a lovely lunch at Siderno Caffe. Pizza Bianco for starters was shared and very nice. I had the Scallopini Alla Marsala which was delicious and a good size portion, my son the Pollo Alla Pepe which he enjoyed immensely and his girlfriend the Pollo Siderno which was very nicely presented with fresh roasted vegetables. Haven't been here for many years, but will be going again soon. The decor is very nice. Well done to the management and staff.

Awesome restaurant been eating here for years! Never had a bad meal. Service is second to none. New renovations are classy and calm.

Like home, friendly people coupled with great food!. Went to Siderno for a Friday lunch with an old friend. We where pleasantly greeted and drink order was taken immediately. Peroni in hand, we ordered an antipasti to start, it was just like an afternoon at Nonna'a, fresh produce and fantastic selection of traditional Italian starters. We shared a beautiful prawn linguini and a fish of the day, a clean fresh piece of snapper cooked to perfection. Both the chef and staff took the time to speak with us and enquire about our food and service which were both sensational. Sidernos absolutely hit the spot and we cant wait to become regulars! All up, healthy and super tasty Italian cuisine and fun friendly staff. A must visit!!
