A great meal with good friends, ice cold drinks, and very friendly staff. We will be coming back again.

The Spaghetti All' Aglio did not have any Anchovies as on the menu. The Panzerotti was nice though. I wanted to order pizza, but was told that the pizza chef was unavailable. Coffee was OK. Hope they can read my review and improve. EDIT: Thank you to the owner for your response. Condolences for your father's passing. I do hope things improve and we can come back to try again.

This place is an institution and never fails to deliver. Have visited over many years for breakfast, Lunch, dinner or just for a coffee. Not once could the service or food be faulted. Good old fashioned consistent quality service. Good for a special occasion, romantic dinner or just a casual catch-up

Worst customer service I have experienced in a long time. Went for afternoon coffee/ place not too busy and got a table straight away. Service was non existent even after getting their attention ( lady with dark hair who acknowledged this) and then she completely ignored us and walked off to deal with someone else. We Walked out after 20mins. Don’t waste your time and money— there are plenty of places which have much better staff and actually want your business!

My mum had her 80th birthday here yesterday. Friendly staff who were obviously very busy but were doing their best. Nice food and helpful manager with the birthday cake. The main thing was the guest of honour enjoyed herself immensely. Thankyou

Nice friendly service and good food! Serving sizes are generous which usually equals leftovers for me. Lots of space for bigger groups as well.

Lovely chicken risotto for lunch with a couple of red wines. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend this business in the future.

Had breakfast there today and I'll never go back... food took forever to come and was very disappointing... my husbands tomatoes were burnt and bacon was also nearly burnt... I had a blt and it was stone cold and not pleasant to eat...

Was very disappointed when we went there last week, food was not to the usual standard, and to then get charged for a cup of hot water was a disgrace, who gets off charging for hot water when they give you cold water, some people need hot water to assist them to eat, not to screw you out of charging for a cup to put a tea bag in, won’t be back again

The food was good, but had quiet clearly been reheated before served. Not worth the $30 for each meal

The service and food was excellent. Always a nice place to go to for a good meal. Authentic Italian food. My wife have been going there for years, on occasions.

Absolutely terrible. Staff more disorganised than I had ever seen for a restaurant that had been there for so long. No one at our table enjoyed their meal. The sauces for the pasta’s were flavourless and almost certainly store bought, as were the pastas. A side of sardines were from a can and more suited as a salting ingredient than a side. The chicken parmi came with three small potatoes and a half assed side salad. Absolutely zero love went into any of the dishes. Never going back and will actively discourage people from going here in the future.

Everyone at the table was very happy with their food however unfortunately I did not ask how big the meal was prior to ordering. I ordered the sizzling prawns with a side steamed veg (ads up to be almost $40) the pot of prawns had exactly 4 prawns in it. Lucky I ordered the side of veggies and they give you a complimentary basket of bread. All the other meals tasted delicious and was very good size. But unfortunately I did have to fill up on bread.The service at this place is absolutely Amazing! I would love to go back!

I have been coming to this place since I was a toddler, it has been a very continuous place for my family and I. I am now 23 years old and can say that I am still in love. Cafe Amaretto has some of the best food I have ever tasted and I can honestly not fault them. The service is always beautiful and I always leave super satisfied. A lot of people have mixed feelings which is normal, but as someone who has been frequenting this place for around 20 years I am and always will be sold 👍 can't wait to spend another birthday here.

Location is ok but noisy outside during the day (traffic). Service is average. Servings are generous but quality could improve with some added chef-finesse. Coffee is 7/10. They need to be aware of the competition in this space or the future may be difficult.

Good location, fairly good sized meals however took a while to get served after they took our entre and drinks order. We received our entre and weren't asked if we were ready to order for about 15 minutes

I'm a frequent occupant of Cafe Amarettos however the last several weeks/couple months I've been so disappointed. I don't know whether they have a new chef/cook, or they're under new management but their standards have absolutely slip compared to me starting to go 3 years ago. <br/>I always get the Fettuccini Con Gamberi, without fail, I do always waiver sometimes to a new dish but this one is my ultimate favourite and my partner orders the Gnocchi. <br/><br/>Now the last 7 times I've come around the prawns have been overlooked or undercooked so the prawn was so chewy or just so rubbery that it doesn't taste like seafood but rather it tastes like chicken. <br/>I've kept my mouth shut a few times because the pasta itself is quite delicious without it, but ultimately I'm paying for the MASSIVE prawns they put on my plate.<br/>I've told the waitress a few times only now, and each time I got an excuse that it was the type of prawn or the season, or the fact that it's the weather and somehow that impacts the way the prawn is cooked. <br/><br/>I've recently decided to give them one more chance: because I've been a frequent goer for a long time and sometimes people just have bad weeks. I ordered the dish once more as a takeaway and my partner ordered the Gnocchi. <br/>Again the prawns were over cooked so much that they literally just were tasteless. The sauce seemed to have so much oil it was ridiculously visible in the sauce. <br/><br/>Unfortunately this doesn't cancel out the fact that I like the dish for itself. <br/>Will not be returning and Cafe Amarettos have lost long time customers and their family members. <br/>Such a shame.

Food was almost inedible. We ate it because we were starving. Went with a large group, staff were very rude. I had the barramundi which was awful. Dry and tasteless. Clearly using frozen fish. Not one person at the table enjoyed there meal. Never returning, would rather have spent my money at a restaurant I enjoy.

Worst service ever received 😂😂 young waitress sat us down and gave water. Had my 3 year old niece with me and 2 others. Didnt give my niece a glass or a plate and said she would be back. All we wanted was some coffee and cake and waited for 15 minutes. Still the 2 staff members serving just avoided eye contact and our table completely. We tried to wave her down and she nodded angrily at us and never came. Ended up just walking out - there were only 4 other tables in the whole restaurant with people so i dont really understand what they were doing that was so much more important. Clearly customer service isnt of importance at this place.

Often our table is forgotten about and we need to approach the front desk just to get our orders taken, especially if dining outside. Food is average Italian, coffee is nice. Very noisy inside when busy.

The ambience was nice and we had a lovely family gathering. The squid was soft and tasteless. My sister had the pork scallopini and said it was tender but the taste was horrible. My brother in law had the lasagne which was a fair home cooked meal. The service was prompt but the staff appeared under stress. Would need to be cheaper for me to go back again. <br/>

Amaretto is so overrated and overpriced for what you get. we were <br/>charged $3.50 for extra chillis for one person to add to her supposedly <br/>spicy pasta. Boring, overpriced meals, unfriendly staff and tired old <br/>decor. would rate no stars but site won't let me.

This place has a lot of potential it just lacks the finishing touches to most dishs. It's not bad for a quick meal but you just have to try it out to see what I mean

Received a gift voucher from my boss for this restaurant to thank me for my recent hard work accomplished. Turned up at lunchtime on Sunday with the missus to find the place nearly deserted, not a good sign. Had our entrees and mains delivered at the same time, which was just super! After attempting to eat a tonne of food before it got cold dessert arrived, which made everything just fantastic!! What was the rush? Will always be a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. Shameful.

I have attended Amaretto Café, Osborne Park on many occasions and have always found excellent service, friendly attitude, always smiling, very helpful, nothing too hard for them and make customers feel very welcome. Most of the Staff, including the Chefs, have been there for a long time and appear very happy. The food and beverages are of high quality and the décor is very nice and typical of Italian Cafes.

how is this restaurant even functioning still ? i bet the customers are either family or family friends . this '' restaurant '' should be shut down . disgusting overpriced food and dont even get me started on the coffee .. BURNT REALLY BAD. stay away.

STAY AWAY ! , terrible service and the food was not even edible . over priced and disgusting food. my husband ordered a medium rare steak and it came out well done and tasted 100% overdue. we left the place without barley touching our food and the bill came to a total of 87$ . BEWARE

Went here with my fiancé for desert and coffee and it never disappoints, I had the Malteser cake with a nice cup of tea and the other half had a coffee amaretto.

Food was ok - I had a medium ragu. Food arrived quickly and was hot and well-seasoned. Service from the younger waitstaff was fine, the older waitstaff seemed to resent that we were staying at the table after finishing eating, but never asked if we wanted more coffee or dessert, which we would have ordered if asked. Much aggravated plate clearing and huffing about requiring the sudden movement off the floor of bags and umbrellas which had been there all along. <br/>Reasonable to want us to move on if there are people waiting for tables, but less so when the restaurant is only half full. <br/>

Local to me, so easy as pie to get in and out. Very consistent but needs a facelift. Recommend if your in need of something fast but there are close by alternatives that will zing a bit more.

I have dined here a few times. The food isnt amazing but will pass if you are starving. The pasta can be overcooked and a lot of the tomato based pasta dishes are very salty, the creamy dishes are far to sweet and heavy. Staff are quite nice here, happy to have you leave.

Great food, excellent value, friendly staff and quick service. They are also family friendly. Will be coming back for sure. Was worth the drive.

I wouldn't order anything here other than pizza or pasta. The prosciutto pizza is my regular, very yummy. Agree with the comments about outdated decor, but aren't most Italian restaurants ;) I'd come back.

After a long absence (due to a stale piece of cheesecake on a previous visit), friends took us for dinner on a Sunday night.  The staff were friendly and attentive.<br/>I ordered the minestrone soup and garlic bread.  Not the best I've eaten, but ok.  The garlic bread was a little unusual - looked like it was toasted in a sandwich press and then crushed garlic smeared on it.. little strange. Hubbie had prawn fettucine which he enjoyed.  Was a little pricey for what it was.  ($37 for main size garlic prawns!)

The decor in the restaurant is old and outdated so don't expect anything different. It's like having dinner at your grandmothers house. Very large portions however some are a hit and a miss. Family friendly which is good but a little over priced for nannas cooking.

Bland bland bland.  What a waste of money.  Greek salad was just plain horrible.  Coffee was disgusting!  Garlic bread cold and stale.  Wouldn't go back waste of money and my precious taste buds.

I keep an open mind when going to Italian restaurants because I personally don't prefer such cuisine. However, even with an open mind, this was just so bad. I ordered the braised lamb shanks in white wine and vegetables from the "mains" menu. Plenty of parking across the road and xross walk has lights. I rate at 3.5 based on what we had today.

We love this place. Theservice is excellent, accommodating with kids and friendly. The choice is phenomenal and everything tastes soooo awesome. Every time so far. We will go again and again.

Overpriced & underserviced. They were obviously not expecting the large crowd for breakfast this morning. My business group meets here some times & although we book they were clearly unprepared. My breakfast was small in size, I think the reaso was so they could make the food stretch further(?) , the eggs were broken & hard , it looked like it had been thrown on the plate , the service wasnt good & furthermore how do they charge the same amount for a "vegetarian" breakfast that is the same as the non vegetarian without the meat ?<br/>I won't becoming back.

Had dinner here last night and it was perfect. I ordered the tortellini pasta which was amazing it had generous serving size with fresh mushrooms. My partner had the Penne with ragu sauce which was also perfect with lots of meat in the sauce. We would just like to say thank you to the lady cheff in the kitchen you done an excellent job on our meals:)

Friendly service, good italian comfort food....... I don't understand the low rating this restaurant has been given by reviewers, as we have always had a good meal there with generally good service. We go there about 3 times a year, and have been doing this for many years, usually as a meal on the way to the movies at Innaloo, or after late night shopping in Osborne Park. It's not "amazing" food like some of the newer italian places in Perth, but the food is consistent, the prices are reasonable for the servings given, and the service last night was very friendly and welcoming. There are always family gatherings when we go, so they must be doing something right. I always have the marinara, and the seafood is always fresh, and with a good variety in the marinara. My husband usually has one of the other pastas, and has never been disappointed. It may not be as hip as Jamie's or as trendy as Il Pasto, but you do get a lot more bang for your buck here!

Love it ♥. I have been coming to this great restaurant for years its like a second home. Great food, amazing ambience and sends me back to Europe each time. The seafood here is amazing and the risotto is delicious. Also love the desserts here. The owners, staff and Lily the chef always say a special hello and make sure all patrons needs are catered for. Even if there is a special request they will do anything to make you dining experience here a positive one. I love coming here its always a great dining experience. One of my favourite restaurants in Perth.

Disappointing - K. Went to Amaretto's for a brunch last weekend. Unfortunately, the food was less than average. I have been going there for years but recently the standard is dropping. With familiarity maybe people don't feel they have to try any harder at their business - you do! Please up the standard and you have a patron for life.

Have had many a nice dinner at Amaretto but went for breaky today with 3 others and was most disappointing. 2 poached eggs with toast was slapped on the plate with plain old boring white toast. No presentation whatsover. Tea was a cup of hot water with the saucer on top and a plain old Lipton tea bag sitting on top. My daughter had the crepes. 2 rolled up crepes with a plastic bowl of maple syrup on the plate. No effort to present it nicely :( My friend hardly touched her bacon, yucky scrambled eggs, mushrooms. A little love on the plate wouldn't go astray. Maybe stop with the boring cheap store bought breads, present butter, jams and maple,syrup in nice bowls instead of little commercial packs in a bowl on table. A bit of greenery with eggs and some icing sugar or berries with crepes and bring in one of the nice teas available now. Who wants to go out and pay for a breaky they could have at home!

Never Disappoints. After reading some of the bad reviews for this Caffe I felt I had to write a review. I have been going to Caffe Amaretto's for years and have never had a bad meal or bad service. The pizzas are the best in Perth and the seafood always fresh. Good quantities and where else do you get free bread and water?? It is a family friendly restaurant with a great atmosphere and very comfortable seating. Every time I go there it is full of people and has a high turnover. I would highly recommend this Caffe for any occasion and suggest you disregard the bad reviews and try it for yourself, you will be pleasantly surprised.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. We have been coming to Amaretto like forever and they never disappoint. We have been coming to Amaretto for birthdays, anniversaries, get together with friends for many years. My brother in law lives in Tom Price and every time they come down to visit he always request the capretto ( baby goat ). The atmosphere is always welcoming. The staff are very welcoming & helpful. The best Italian food apart from my mum's (Italian Nonna) & affordable.

Consistently good. Consistently good food, generous portions and friendly staff. Love the wood fired pizza and sausage and olives.

Casual and friendly atmosphere. We had pizzas and pasta. Lots of bread and olives and sausage before dinner. Mains were in the $20s. Steaks were in $30s. Size of plates were large. Great atmosphere for. A large family outing of greater than 20.

We live in North Perth and eat here quite regularly with our two children and friends. The food is all of your normal mainstream Italian restaurant staples, but I wouldn't let that put you off, as the quality is consistently good. The Thame property is in attractive property in the Main Street. The tables are packed in quite a bit, so the place is quite noisy when it's busy. It is therefore better for family and group meals and a quick meal out with the other half, than for romantic meals for two. The service is good on the whole and the staff are helpful. The kids menu is quite good and good value, The kids portions are quite big, so our 3 and 5 year olds often leave quite a bit of food on their plates.

Arrogant and unprofessional. 10 of us walked in on a tuesday night at 9:30pm for a coffee only to be told that they were closed and upon telling the lady that their sign reads open 7am to midnight 7 days a week the lady shrugs her shoulders and says sorry we're closed.

1/10 is to high a score. The service was so poor I am writing my first ever review...the night started with a 15-20 minute wait before we got any service and we ordered mains and drinks...the main meals were small and ten Ragu appeared to have been reheated. My wife's drink arrived half way through her meal and the simple glass of red wine arrived after the meal was finished. The red wine glass was that small it would best be described as MINUTE <br/>Going to the cashier to finalise the bill topped it off with the most rude and disgusting service. Very satisfied.. Been coming for here for the past 2 years, everytime I have come the service here is amazing, staff are really friendly couldn't feel more comfortable here. <br/>The food is delicious I have had nearly everythig on the menu and I can't complain. Number 1 thing I love about this place is the managers and staff interact with everyone, and their not snobby like a lot of other places I have been too. Even on a busy night Me and my family don't wait longer then 10 minutes to get our food. One thing that everyone hates doing is waiting, here you don't wait.

Great Pizzas and Pastas. I know this place hasn't had the greatest reviews but you can never go wrong with the yummy woodfired pizzas here or the home made sauces for their pastas. I don't care if the chilli oil is $3.50...why do people expect this for free?? Its not made of thin air! The chilli oil is divine and I pour it on my pizzas and pastas. The Greek salad is great with the pizzas too and dressing is beautiful. The staff were very efficient and friendly when we came. Yes it was quiet at the time but some staff drop the ball when it is quiet but these guys stayed focussed. We only go here now for pizzas.

Retirement fund!. Visited recently after several months, food is pedestrian italian with good quantity.<br/>"Would you like chilli oil with your pizza?" Katching $3.50 , What sauces would you like with wedges? <br/>Katching $1.00 each. Corkage $3.50 each -$16.50 for 2 bottles!<br/>The half empty restaurant on Friday before Xmas says it all, these guys are past their use by date.<br/>Sannios owners have gone down the same path and driven people away with greedy add ons.<br/>Complimentary bread hardly makes up for devious gouging by staff who must be trained to trick you into <br/>unexpected extra charges.<br/>Retire gracefully and let a new generation invigorate this place is needed here .

So so. Average food, pleasant service however this place seems to have gone downhill somewhat in terms of food quality.

Shockingly Bad!. Well where do I start? At the beginning when we unfortunately stepped over the doorstep! We did not get greeted, we found our table as someone we knew was already sitting there, we eventually after 20 minutes of waiting had to ask for service. Bought our own wine,rose, and we were never offered a wine cooler. Once we begged down a waitress, she appeared, did not introduce herself, just launched straight into a half informed specials list, to which she could not remember it all then left!!! Had to then hail another waitress to actually place an order another 15 minutes later! I think we got a very arrogant matre d. The food came out at a reasonable time, but OMG my chicken had been microwaved, drowned in sauce with green salad dumped on top of an extremely hot sauce that was soooo obviously microwaved!! Once finished they started stacking chairs, for goodness sake it was only 9o'clock!!!! Glasses grabbed from the table so it was "obviously" time to go. People do yourselves a favour.... DON'T go. MacDonalds would have been a better experience, and probably more professional and better service ona bad day.

Poor quality coked badly.. Asked for medium steak. It was raw and had to be returned. Was a cheap cut and barely edible. My wife ordered Barramundi which probably wasn't. Total of 5 diners in our party who all ordered different dishes and none were satisfied. This restaurant serves poor quality food that is badly cooked. Never again.

Terrible food. Last night I cooked Barramundi, bought from Coles, it was extremely tasty, meaty and fresh.<br/> It's not rocket science!!<br/>How a restaurant cannot get it right after 30 odd years of service is beyond me.<br/>My family went for a special Birthday lunch and it literally left a bad taste in our mouths. We all had different meals and they were all terrible. <br/>Definitely not recommended.

Absolute crap. Few week before we went there for dinner. The menu looked great but the dining experience was so bad, probably the staffs need to re do their hotel management and hospitality skills. Lets talk about the food I would say it wasn't upto the mark as I have imagined. The meat and fish weren't of great quality. Just a rip off the $$$$. I would never recommend this restaurant to any of my friends.

Walked out of this place with a sour taste in my mouth.. From the moment we arrived the (fake) blonde lady at the door wasn't very welcoming. There were a total of 7 of us ladies at the table for my aunt's birthday. The (fake) blonde lady from the door came to our table not to take our orders but to look down on us and stood there giving us some weird looks as though she was disgusted then called one of the waitresses to come and take our order. The waitress that took our order was quite nice and friendly. As the night progressed we took a fair amount of photos. When our food came we took more photos as we do and I could hear the big Italian family that was sitting behind me making noises in the background and it was quiet apparent they weren't too happy with us taking selfies.<br/>Between us we had ordered a margherita pizza (which was tasteless), seafood pizza (which was the only tasty thing we ordered), prawn salad (i make better ones at home), Chilli mussels ( which was extremely salty and there were a lot of empty shells but no mussels at the bottom of my bowl and the mussels were still half raw...eew), panzerroti and two bowls of marinara pasta which were both tasteless and looked like they used the same sauce for all 3 pasta dishes.<br/>The servings were very poor and everything was over priced. For an Italian Cafe that has been around for so long you would think their food would be beautiful with lots of flavor but it was just disappointing. <br/>Along with the fake blonde lady with her ugly attitude towards us we did not feel welcomed at all in this cafe. <br/><br/>In regards to the big Italian family behind us who kept staring at us, laughing and saying sarcastic things they really should've been enjoying their dinner (or try to just like we had to) and should've been minding their own business instead of worrying about what we were doing. Obviously they weren't enjoying the company they had with them. When we got up to leave the little boy at their table said "yay they're leaving!" then in a lower tone of voice one of the adults said "she heard you!". <br/>I could go on about our whole nights experience while at Amaretto Cafe but it would just turn into a 50 chapter novel so I'll just leave it as 1!<br/><br/>I now remember why my partner and I walked out of this cafe in 2006 as we just received looks from everyone who worked there and nobody even came to welcome us while we were standing by the entrance.<br/><br/>There's no way that I could recommend awful Amaretto Cafe to anyone....they don't deserve a cent from anyone with their uninviting nature and disgusting food. Hands down the worst place to eat in Perth!!!

Best seafood. Amaretto never dissapoints. The grilled seafood is great value for the quality of seafood you get. It is the best quality of seafood you can get with Barramundi, scallops, Australian tiger prawns, mussels, calamari and king prawns. And it IS grilled not the pre crumbed stuff. Served with wedges and a lettuce garnish was just right. <br/><br/>They are the only restaurant I know that still give you free bread. I have also had the Tbone steak which is huge. Very good quality and you can get meals all day. The kitchen doesn't close in the afternoon. Great place and very central for everyone. Thanks Amaretto.

Regular diner. One of the best Italian restaurants I have been to. Great value for money and staff are always willing to go the extra mile for specific requests. Thanks caffe amaretto. :)

We LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!. We have been going to Cafe Amaretto for the past 15 years and go at least 2 times a month with family and friends. We have never had a bad meal there, our favourite being the marinara. It's the best in Perth, trust me, we have tried a lot of others and nothing comes close! The food is always so fresh and the fish and seafood is to die for (biggest prawns ever). The service is fantastic, a big shout out to the owner Joyce, she is amazing and makes us feel so welcome there and like family. She looks after us and makes sure we have everything we want. Also to Lilly the head chef, your food is amazing. The food comes out so quick, you get free complimentary bread and butter (not a lot of restaurants do that!). You can not fault this place. Please ignore all the bad reviews, I don't know what they are talking about, these people obviously don't know a good meal when they find it and have nothing better to do than complain. Horrible, horrible food. We had dinner for a party of 6 last night and all the main meals served were overcooked and dry (these dishes included fish, pasta and chicken). I had the fettuccine with prawns. The prawns were overcooked and tasted old and stale - I could not finish more than two of them. The pasta was cut into small pieces like it was served for a toddler! Other diners at the table had fish - overcooked and dry and they could not even get the potato wedges right! The service was good and the manager did respond apologetically when I complained about the pasta. However, I was still initially changed for the dish and had to to it removed from the final bill. To add to the evening when we ordered hot chocolate it had to be sent back as it was lukewarm! I have never written a bad review but the main course meat was badly cooked and I am not sure how they could get all the main dishes so wrong!

Terrible experience. We were less than impressed.<br/>Food was disgracefull with 3 different meals all using the same crap pasta sauce that tasted like it came out of a can . Seafood wasn't fresh, rissotto was gluggy and chicken was dryer than and old thong left out in the sun. The best the waitress could say when we complained was " i had some people some in yesterday and say that our food was better than Jamie Oliver's restuarant's food" she was rude and very dismisive of any negative feedback. <br/><br/>Having dined at many restuarants around the globe, we know what good and acceptable food is but this is an absolute DISGRACE ! <br/><br/>One of our group was actually throwing up her diner 45 minutes later at the cinema. <br/>Thanks for ruining our night out.

WORST MEAL I EVER HAD IN PERTH!!!. My husband, myself & my son dined at this restaurant few days ago, & may I say that we we're less than impressed. The service was extremely slow, we waited over an hour for our meal!!! No acknowledgement or apology was given. The food was tastleless - I could of cooked better! The waiter was rude - Really I don't have anything nice to say about this place - Before we left - I actually saw the Owner who I think goes by the name of VINCE reach into the tip Jar to grab money & put into his pocket!!!!!! How's that for being greedy!! I definately won't recommend this place to anyone. Sorry but you guys absolutely SUCK! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING -YUGGHHHH!!

Fabulous. Attentive though never disruptive service. We had the Capretto and Involtini Di Melenzane. Both cooked to perfection and tasted devine. Great coffee to finish as well. Will definately be back for more.

Very disappointing. Ordered a pot of tea for one, what I got was a cup full to the brim of hot water and a tea bag still in plastic and a dash of milk. The waitress advised me I shouldn't refer to the cake menu as it's not up to date and I'd have to go and look at the counter to choose a cake. The final insult was at the register.

Had one of the worst dining experiences here today. Went along with two friends order a serve of mussels, tortellini and marinara all dishes tasteless to say the least. Mussels were the biggest issue as the frozen mussels lacked tast, chilli (after requesting hot) and body. My friend brought this up and was meant with a cold response ... Just to add to our disappointment we were charged full price for a dish not eaten.. Positive tho the wine was delicious but I believe that was made off premises so can't really give credit there either.

Late night cakes and drinks. My partner and I dined at Amaretto and could choose any drink and cake available as it was late. The hot chocolate and chocolate milkshake was high quality and delicious and the malteser (chocolate) mud cake was great also.

Bad service from rude waitresses and a calzone which was cold and wet in the middle. They dont understand the requirement to state corkage/cakeage fees PRIOR to accepting wine/cakes... Stating it in a menu which is read after-the-fact is deceptive!

Not very flexible with making dishes vegetarian (ie just not putting in the meat) but food otherwise good.

Terrible. Disgusting food. Do yourself a favour and do not dine here. We were a table of about 20 and not one dish was even 'ok'. The best thing I had was my tea bag in a cup of boiling water. Thanks Lipton

Superb Meal - can't wait to come back.. Six of us had a family birthday dinner last night. We're pretty fussy diners and hate bad service - the food was faultless and the service likewise. Can't understand what all the bad reviews are about? We were greeted like we were dining at a Café in Venice, seated by a professional waitress. Seafood was fresh AND local (not imported rubbish!), cooked beautifully. My husband adored the goat, mussels were succulent. This is my first visit here, others at the table had been before, but rest assured I'll be back with others. Thank you!!

Bluebagger. As some others have said, service varies, sometimes good, sometimes poor. Girl in red dress served us, when she felt like it, waited ages, meals came with the drinks, was really slow, and yet early in JAN was very good.<br/>Doubt we'll be back.

Lovely Lunch. My dear friend and I went for lunch here today and I wanted to pass on our thoughts after a very enjoyable light lunch. <br/>We decided to share so we ordered an Antipasto Plate and the Crespelle .. a spinach and cheese delight with a tomato sauce topping which all melted in the mouth. <br/>The Antipasto was also a mixture of tasty delights. Both dishes light but very filling. <br/>Don't know where the several previous reviewers had been to write such negative remarks because we found the staff to be friendly, welcoming and attentive. Bouquets to them all.<br/>The coffee was excellent to start our meal and we would recommend the Coffee Crema to end it with .. delicious !<br/>Will definitely go back ..<br/><br/>Sam's Girl and Lady De Mia

Terrible food, very outdated Italian style restaurant. Service wasn't good either. Don't waste your money there!

Disgusting service. Ordered the garlic prawns entree which was $26.50. waitress tried to get us to order the main size which was obviously more expensive, as she said there wouldn't be enough for 4 of us. When we asked how many prawns there would be, we were informed there would be a grand total of 4 prawns in entree sized one. waitress was not happy when we said don't worry about it then (as $6.50 a prawn really seems ridiculous even for perth). Rudely exclaimed "it's a small size how many prawns do you expect?!". Will never be back.

Coffee and milkshake dissapointing and expensive

Very nice meals, I had ravioli with a creamy pumpkin sauce = delish!! Lovely waitress, quick service on a Saturday night and reasonable prices. I'm a food snob too - don't know why everyone is complaining!

I do not recommend, staff were slow to take order and not friendly! Coffee was way too hot and milk was burnt, when mentioned to the staff they were not helpful and didn't offer a refund.

Ordered prawns in pasta, got spaghetti marinara and a grumpy reaction when we told them of mix up. The reply was (well it does have prawns in it!) finally got right order and could of used prawns to play bounce. Then got charged on bill that it was risotto! Very disappointed!

To network bidder. To the network bidder that placed an unfavourable message on urbanspoon about Caffe Amaretto which i have worked for 20yrs. We had an agreement with the head of this networking group & i won't mention his name as his a lovely gentleman, the agreement that for $25 a head you all get a breakfast of bacon, eggs, tom & mushrooms or a vegetarian version with beans or those that are on a health kick fruit salad including a hot drink of your choice & orange juice on the table. Our establishment opens at 8am usually but for this networking group we open at 6am therefore i am in b4 6am to start setting up resulting in further wages 4 me the chef & another staff member. Everyone pays seperate they chop & change the varying menu & we r happy to be accomadating but to hear that 1 person who is obviously new to the group put up a message like this is dissappointing. I love what i do & i love where i work. Im sure everyone out there would agree that sometimes in business things can go wrong & we always apologize 4 those moments but again to all customers in all fields if u r not satisfied with anything u need to speak up so we can rectify the situation. If everyone can remember we r all human & we will make mistakes but like i teach the girls the 1st thing is to appolise then try to rectify the situation. I had the Involtini Di Pollo which is the chicken with ham spinach and ricotta and that was fantastic. All my guests raved about the portion sizes as they were more than enough. When i went up to pay someone was giving the Matre'D a hard time. It was so hard to watch this customer talk quite loud and rude to her over an ice-cream. She stuck to her guns and apologised again. Good on her...People of Perth listen up, When you order a meal or anything if you don't like it its not the restraunts fault but if that meal comes out with a smell or a hair then don't pay for it but if you just don't care for it for no good reason i think the customer should pay. I had a wonderful time besides watching this couple gang up on this lady. She was absolutely great after that she composed herself apologised for the wait and kept doing what she was there to do...Keep up the good work and awsome food.

Fantastic. We have been going to Amarettos for the past two years on a regular basis - both at weekends and during the week - never never have they disappointed us :) :) the service and food is top quality - always totally enjoyable.

Love the athmosphere. Within walking distance of our home my partner and I have been here half a dozen times in the last year.<br/><br/>I have yet to try anything besides the seafood pasta !<br/>beautiful selection of fish with a gorgeous sauce.

Been here countless times and never jad a bad meal. Good sizes, comfortable spacing between tables, lovely food.

Good and homely. I reckon you can't go wrong with this cafe/restaurant. Decor hasn't change in years but it's clean, light & breezy. Lunch time is the best atmosphere in the place. Food is always tasteful. <br/><br/>The management is polite and the new waitresses are full of smiles but no doubt in time and the busy environment will wear them down and they'll either leave or become frumpy like the rest.<br/><br/>It's a good spot for a business lunch if you're in the area.

Over Priced and Dreadful ! !. The bread that was served to us was stale.<br/>The mixed fish plate was cooked on a dirty grill and tasted like rancid oil.<br/>The components of the dish were all thrown on top of each other and resembled my compost bin. <br/><br/>Was very disappointed.

Wowo wow & wow. I had such a great dinner here last friday night. Everything was spot on. It was my first time trying the pizza. I had a margareta. Beautiful. I was treated like royalty. I noticed that while we were eatling the lady at the front door was always looking around making sure everyones happy. SPOT ON! Back again this friday!!

Happy Times. You will always be welcomed at this friendly, well frequented café. Our family has always enjoyed wonderful food at very affordable prices. Well done! We always look forward to fresh, tasty meals,,pleasant service and atmosphere.Always a winner for us.
