Review Vanille Bistro - Pakenham

Melissa Robinson
Ordered breakfast this morning, bacon tasted off and poached eggs still had runny whites. When I asked for a refund I was laughed at by who I assume was the owner and told I need to ask for my eggs to be cooked more. No customer should be disrespected when asking for a refund for food they paid for.

The team here are so welcoming and friendly every time I visit. The food has always been delicious too. Would recommend for breakfast/brunch and coffee!

A big thank you to Martine and the team for creating a beautiful birthday cake - my daughter loved it.

Good local cafe. Coffee ok (on and off good). Great selection of cakes and snacks. Good seating options. Right in the heart of Pakenham shopping areas.

Nice place to sit quietly and enjoy the food. My avocado & chicken focaccia was so good that I devoured it before I took the photo of it... sorry about that. This Bistro has sound tiles to deaden the ‘cafe’ sound. Well done!

Had a detox that was very green and tasted more cucumber than melon or apple. Place was busy and am told the coffee is good. Service is great. Rating is based on the smoothie alone. Will update when I have something more substantial.

The inside of the establishment has a quaint and inviting atmosphere, but that's where it ends. I found food is overpriced and my ham and cheese toastie was terrible!!! Like how can you stuff up a ham and cheese toastie?..... after two bites I spat it out in the carpark, disgusting.

Probably one of the better cafes in Pakenham. The coffee here is quite good and the food is quite noce too. I've only been here once for a quick lunch with some colleagues, but I would definitely come back here to eat again.

I ordered a cake from Vanille Bistro for the next day, it was amazing!! Super delicious, moist, choc full and everyone loved it. Whats more was the price was very reasonable!

I have been here during the day and now have experienced the dinner menu. I have never had a problem with the service and have always found the staff friendly and happy to assist. The cakes used to be made by the owner in a separate kitchen to the shop (not at a "factory") The cakes are now made on the premises.Definitely happy to keep coming back here

Went there for lunch and the service was prompt and friendly. The food was reasonably priced and well portioned. I had the Angus burger and was a little bit worried that it would turn out to be one of those concoctions that you can't physically eat as it is just too tall. So I was pleasantly surprised that it was just the right size and just a lil messy. Everything you ask for in a burger.

We will definitely be back soon.

Finally a good place to get a coffee and breakfast in pakenham. Been wanting to come for a while with the hope of it being at least half decent. Lets be honest pakenham has very little to offer. Was greeted warmly on my entry. Had baked eggs and a coffee both of which i really enjoyed.
Would of preferred table service. I think i would have had another coffee or 2. Not a big fan of pay and order.
Apart from that i will be back. Lets hope it keeps up this standard on future visits.

I was hesitant at first because the atmosphere isn't great but glad I took the plunge because the food was delicious. I had a banana smoothy and the baked eggs and they were both lovely. Definitely worth a try :)

The best cafe in Pakenham!!!!. If you are in Pakenham and want great food, great service, a bright, clean and funky environment this is where I go, also they have superb cakes for celebrations. Martine and Pascal set the standard which leaves the other cafes way behind. As a local who have come from bayside, this is my pick by far:)

As someone who likes to eat out on the weekends - I like to try new places and revisit others. From the day this place opened I have been here about 4 times and 4 times I have been left disappointed by the lack lustre service. If I spend money in your establishment I want to be made to feel welcome and not like I am interrupting your social time looking for a time to jump into the conversation to place my order. Coffee cold, burnt and when I mentioned that my large cafe latte was all foam and only 1/3 liquid - I was made to feel like I was the one in the wrong. Cafe latte (milk coffee is not foam coffee) The food isn't a standout in fact the name is appropriate as it is rather "Vanilla". There seems to be an air of pretentiousness about this place that certainly doesn't seem justified. I found a little place next door that ticked all my boxes. I also heard on good authority that the landlord conspired with these owners to "eliminate" that little eatery next door so they could expand the bistro. A bistro that isn't even open on Sundays for brunch - wtf? I am not a critic, nor in a business that is opposition or have a vested interest - I'm just someone who will give kudos to great service and standout food.

Hmmm Brian, are you sure you went to vanille bistro or some other ordinary cafés?
Because I can tell you this place has built itself a nice reputation , providing restaurant quality food at ' café style' prices!you even struggle to get a seat at lunch time nowadays.
So I don't know if you ordered an actual cooked meal or just a HC toastie.
Having eaten in a lot of cafés & restaurant around Melbourne, I can tell you this place has been a sweet little find for my wife & I since we moved into the area 15 months ago.
It's either my palate & the whole pakenham going bland or yours mate!!!!

This was a surprise. Gourmet breakfast at reasonable prices. Fresh and clean food with no disappoint... And huge portions. Will definitely return and dragging the crew.

Bland tasteless food with rude service went for coffee and cake and the cakes aren't made on premises and when I asked where they were made I was told a factory they are delivered weekly! Hmmm Coffee Luke warm and tasted burnt, Never again!
