Definitely try this place out! These pies are creative, amazing and very ,very tasty! Plus, they are hot and ready to eat with excellent pastry. This has to be a Tradie “smoko” favourite. 😊 Also customer service was excellent, I was happily greeted, served and out within 3 minutes. Excellent Pies, truly well done. So lets break it down As it was my first time, it was hard to choose as the range is so large it is almost overwhelming. 😊 So I ordered the Original (traditional) gravy mince beef pie and the chicken parma pie. (Refer to Photos) Price: Pies start from $5.50 and go up from there. Very reasonable for the food. Food: You have to give credit to amazing well-cooked pastry – sometimes that light crackle of thin flaked pastry really tops off every good pie. The Original Beef Mince pie: no more or less the traditional meat pie – the beef and gravy were great as it didn’t taste like they added a lot of salt or sugar to pick up the flavour – it was naturally savoury within it’s own right which was excellent. The Chicken Parma: Was blown away! So Good! They don’t skip on ingredients, the chicken pieces alone are worth it! But there is every flavour you would expect from traditional pub parma but in this pie. Highly recommend you take the challenge and tell me I’m wrong. Range: There would have to be 30 types, I didn’t really count as I was in and out so quickly! Customer Service: Service with a smile is always appreciated, thank you for that! Apart from the service person having to deal with my gobsmacked shock at the variety I was presented with; they had a secondary board to show you what was available – which was very helpful. Had my pies and paid within a few minutes. Outstanding. Would highly recommend this shop to everyone – I will be back – if only to try that beef stroganoff pie, which was sadly unavailable at the time.

We stopped in on our way through for take away pies. The lamb and rosemary was really lovely as was the bacon and cheese. Hot, tasty and nice pastry, and price was reasonable too! Would return!

The pies I bought from this bakery the first time were below average. I decided to hold off writing a review until coming back for more (in case this was a once off experience). Today I returned to try the chunky beef pie, and unfortunately, there was no improvement. The meat tasted like processed corned beef. On each of these occassions, the pies were shared with others and they had the same impression. Having said all of that, the service was great! It's just the pies that are not for me.

Tried the bbq pulled beef pie and will be going back for more. So good. Also got the chicken parma pie, sausage roll and coffee. All fresh and really delicious!

We drove over an hour to here because of all the great reviews and were not disappointed. As a pie lover who's tried many of the best bakery's around Melbourne these pies were 10 out of 10. The chunky steak pies were packed with tender juicy meat and more filling than I've ever had in a pie. Will be back soon.

Sausage roll containing an undercooked paste. Chicken Kiev pie in no way reminiscent of Chicken Kiev. Diet coke rather than "No sugar". Very disappointing after all the positive anticipation. AVOID.

My chicken tikka masala pie was awesome but the coffee was way too hot and it had a burnt flavour

Got a couple of pies here (the chicken kiev and the butter chicken) and was super impressed. Super tasty fillings and lovely crispy pastry to boot. Oven fresh too. Best pie shops we've tried in a while.

Wow, real hidden gem! Chunky beef pie with actually chunky beef in it --- awesome! Installed the app just so I could rate this place. Decent cuppa too with friendly service. Definitely coming back again.

Easily the best pie I've ever had (chunky beef). probably the best poe I ever will - foesnt get much better. the meat was great quality and the pastry was devine. Huge selection of pies available - will be back to try one of the less common flavours (Mexican, Thai, Indian, etc)

I actually randomly tried this homemade pie on my way to the station and i come in and all I see was pie (I actually thought it was a bakery, I didn’t see the sign) but super amazing pie! I had the beef onion with cheese. It was to die for!!! Literally so fresh and the meat was so nice! I suggest they put more cheese though but overall so good, I’ve been telling my family how good it was! Can’t wait to try the other flavours next time! <br/><br/>P.s cleanliness of the shop needs improvement though.

Best pies in Melbourne hands down.. I have tried pies from all the best places, some come close but Pie and Mighty had the best.. Beef Stroganoff and Hickory BBQ are my favourite meat pies and Roast Veggie is my favourite Vegetarian pie.. Definitely recommend

Best pies around. This place does not disappoint. I love their family pies and usually buy two and freeze one for later. <br/>For those complaining that they often don't have the whole menu available, if you call the day before they will make one for you the next day. I have done this a few times with the chicken parma family pie which is amazing but they don't always have the family size available.<br/>As a side note, twice now I have called to put pies aside and was running late to get there by close of business and both times they happily stayed open an extra 15 minutes to wait for me. That's what I call service!

Ordered a beef vindaloo pie, the pastry and filling was so dry like it had been in the oven for a week. Worst pie EVER!

Wow- what a delicious chunky flavour filled pie (I had the lamb and rosemary). I'm a quality pie fan and these are some of the best I've tasted. Thumbs up!

A variety of pies.. Really nice pies. Lots of variety with flavours including some unusual ones like chicken Kiev. Only problem is that you usually then can't stop at one.<br/><br/>It is in a standard kind of bakery place so don't expect a cafe ambience but there are seats there and you can sit and sat. Their chocolate milkshake was quite nice as well

You haven't begun to live, until you try their pies!!

Easily the best pies in Melbourne fresh ingredients . Not the same crap pie from other bakery's . Food made with love don't get how people complain about this place. Guess they have nothing better to do. Keep up the good work chef

Great place! Wonderful variety & good quality fillings. Customer service is also great, everyone is always very nice.

The pies here use to be fantastic. In the past 12 months, its gone down hill with the care and quality of the pies. They are just slapped together with little care. I used to love the pumpkin and sourcream with large chucks. Its been turned into pumpkin soup in a pie. They are putting a lot of bechemel sauce in their veg and chicken to a point where it tastes like thick milky flour. Definitely a lot less filling. I keep going back in the hopes that it will go back to how it use to be... But it hasn't happened yet.

The awards that this pie shop had received are well deserved. A wide range of pies full of flavour. You will not be disappointed no matter which pie you choose. Happy eating!

Nice but Overpriced. Nice fluffy pastry although mine was soft and fell apart I think it had been microwaved and then put in the pie warmer. Nice varities I love the Thai Vegie but they are quite expensive, I would put them in the same category as the Pie Face chain.

Great pies!. As far as pies go, I don't think I've had them much better than from the Minister!<br/>Delicious home-style pies and flavoursome sausage rolls. Planning on getting a bunch for the finals this weekend!

I love it!. I was recommended to go to Pie Minister by friends as I love a good pie. This shop exceeded all my expectations. The staff were so helpful and friendly even though they were busy and the pie I had was delicious and just out the oven at 2pm. It was chicken breast with pumpkin in a creamy sauce with cheese and sour cream inside. I took more home for my freezer. Thank you i'll be back!!

The pies are ok, it's a shame that they have such a nice looking menu but when ever you go in the good flavors are never there. Menu has 15 - 20 different pies yet they seem to only have 5 in the ovens. If its on the menu it should be available. Worth a try if you like pies, much tastier food around there though.

Who ever that "dissapointed" person is, is completely stupid! Trust me! I am in there so much i may aswell work there, they do make more pies during the day but only if it's busy, if you go in there on a busy day I'm sure you will see some of the employees rushing around to put More in the counter! What is the point of them making more pies if they still have plenty, and also you cannot walk into anywhere at there closing time and expect to get the full menu! I have worked in hospitality for a few years now and until you work in a place like that you won't understand what hard work goes into it! I have had not had One bad pie or cake from pie minister! All the fillings in the pies are fantastic and you can tell that they are made with the finest ingredients and they are so heavy and filling! I have never walked out of there hungry! I would recommend anyone to go here! The food and the staff are fantastic!

Disappointed!. I have a strong background in hospitality myself holly and understand that alot of work goes into producing handmade good quality products. I have heard numerous positive reviews about pie minister from friends and was very eager to try one. Unfortunately for me I did not recieve a good pie on that day and 1.30pm in the afternoon is hardly closing time so take a step back before you start calling people completly stupid!<br/><br/><br/>-----19 Feb, 2012-----<br/><br/>Dissapointed-. Tried the pepper steak pie, the pastry was dry and the beef was so dry especially around the edges it didn't taste like pepper. It was like the pie was so old. If you are going to be open till 5pm ensure your pies you sell are still fresh during the day.

Best Pie Shop Ever!. I've traveled around and can honestly say these are the best pies I've had. I'm a regular now and love all the spicy pies, my favorite being the Vindaloo, Rogan Josh and Thai Chicken... mmm... Ok now I'm going there for lunch - again!!

Most delectable pies.... If you love pies, you have to try the range from Pie Minister. The pastry is perfect, and the fillings are generous and full of fresh ingredients. My favourites are the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Chicken, Pumpkin and Sour Cream. Look out for the Gourmet Pie of the Month - I can't wait till they put the seafood pie with the cheesy potato topping back on the menu! I hope I don't have to wait till next Easter!<br/><br/>The pies are worth crossing town for! Stop by the next time you're on your way to Gippsland!
