Review Restaurant 317 - Parramatta

Ashwini CN
We opted for the famous Grilled Giant King Prawn Platter - one with a salad and another with chips. The prawns were beautifully cooked in a creamy garlic lemon sauce and it elevated the taste of the dish infinitely. We also went for the salt and pepper prawns for starters and it was equally delicious. I highly recommend 317 if you want to feast on seafood. I haven’t tried the other chicken or pasta dishes, but I can definitely vouch for the seafood fare here.

Delicious risotto and gnocchi. The risotto was properly done, many places get it wrong. The cocktails were better than some pubs out there. The service and staff were great! Definitely coming back here to dine, thanks for the hospitality.

Gluten free restaurant with the Italian twist. The food is ok and highly recommend the chilli pawn pizza as it the highlight of the night. The barramundi and chicken parma are ok. Would like a bigger serving or bigger flavours as it was a bit lacking. The staff here are great. Can't thank them enough to attending our needs and making the night that much better

My favourite restaurant in Parramatta. The gnocchi was so soft, freshly made and the sauce was divine. Accompanied with a nice Pinot Grigio and some delicious Sky High cocktails, we had a fantastic time. Great service from Gerard and Christine, very attentive and friendly. If you’re after beautiful quality pastas, gnocchi, pizzas then you have to try 317. We will definitely be back.. the lamb shanks looked great, I need to try them next!

It’s our ‘special occasion’ restaurant. The food is always great. My absolute favourite is Creamy Prawns. But this time the show stopper were the cocktails, Prajwal’s special. He called it Red Devil and Quick Smile.

Great place to be, we went to celebrate a friend's birthday and the waiter and waitresses were amazing. Would definitely recommend to come here again!

The gnocci and prawn pasta were very delicious. Nice atmosphere and the young male waiter that attended us was very friendly.

This was my first experience here and it was a fantastic one. The risotto (pesto) is really amazing, the creamy prawns with bread and the garlic bread were out of this world. The lamb shanks too were really amazing. This amazing food followed by the amazing ambience was the highlight of the day. It's an amazing place to have a meal with family, friends or even a date with that someone special. If you love Italian cuisine Restaurant 317 is definitely worth the try.

Restaurant 317 was a let down.<br/><br/>Staff were great and we were seated straight away. <br/>We waited over an hour for our food as it was sent to the wrong table the manager did give us free dessert for the mix up. The mains however were warm/cold. Pasta was the star of the dish if there was one. Sorry 317 won't be back.

My company had dinner there , my workmate and I ordered seafood plate , one small piece of fish , one prawn , two squid ring , two octopus and one moreton bay bugs , it costs us $50, it is like starter not main . The problem is the Moreton bay bugs , it was cut by two parts , one side is empty , The waitress told us the meat is supposed in one side , that is ridiculous excuse. It was cut in the middle , how come one side is empty , then we have to order other two dishes . We paid $100 for three dishes. We will not go there anymore

We came here for lunch on a busy Sunday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised with the food and service. The margarita pizza was absolutely delicious, lots of cheese and the crust was perfect. All the other dishes were also well presented, however smaller in portion.

their risotto, veal steak and lychee mocktail are amazing! Service is on point, super friendly staff and beautiful atmosphere, highly recommend them!

Lovely family ambiance, exquisite food and conveniently located in the heart of Parramatta. We went to visit Restaurant 317 in a busy Sunday and were pleasantly surprised by the great seating space and lovely ambiance. Their menu is big and there’s probably something for every taste. We decided to go with some delicious al dente pastas, a meat platter and some antipasto! So so good 😋 The pearl cocktails and Coronaritas are also a must!

I’m lucky I live so close because this may well become my new favourite restaurant in Parramatta. Food was tasty and there was definitely enough seasoning on the meals. Unfortunately part of my order was forgotten but nonetheless service was exceptional and the manager was very receptive and welcoming.<br/><br/>If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!<br/><br/>My thanks to Restaurant 317 and CPM Online Marketing Agency for the invite.

We ordered two meals one being a chicken parma. The kitchen got the order wrong and brought out a veal Parma. They fixed it quickly but it wasn’t a good Parma. Just grilled chicken with cheese and one small slice of eggplant. When you get the order wrong you give a discount or give free drinks. But no nothing. We come to Parramatta for sporting events all the time but won’t be back to 317. They frenetically busy staff but the tables were not that full they are just disorganised.

A perfect modern place for authentic Italian food without the generic/ chain after taste like you get from other Italian joints. This place is perfect for group dinners or a date, what’s also amazing about this place is that they have live music on the weekend. Overall, had a lovely experience, staff were very friendly and attentive. Would come to visit again.

This happened on Valentines, where our order had taken more than 1.5 hrs just to be delivered to our table. Upon asking on the status of our meal a total of 3 times to different staff, each time the staff had seemingly received our concerns, they were seemingly brushed off as I can only assume as they never followed back on the status of our meals, leaving us guessing if we were ever going to receive our food. To follow up on that comment, i'm not sure if the staff were just recently hired or management was poor, but the staff wondering around seemed just as clueless to where each dish was supposed to go and what was even happening with 2 or more occasions asking if this was our dish. One hour into the wait, we were told that the printer machine was not correctly feeding the orders to the kitchen and promised a "fast-tracked entree" (which subsequently took another 30 minutes). How this couldn't have been solved by manually writing the orders and delivering it into the kitchen is beyond me. Then finally comes to the food, the pizza was pretty good, but the pasta was plain, dry and overcooked. This was the case with my pasta and my partners pasta. Then comes to all the customers around me. There was approximately 6 or 7 cases with tables around me complaining about similar wait times, with a couple right next to us leaving early before even receiving the food. Overall, on a busy day such as today definitely do not consider this as there will be too much confusion among the staff or broken machinery. On a quiet day, if you want pasta, don't bother with this place as well. I'd only ever recommend this place if you were to go solely for the pizza.

We loved the service here. Servers were very polite and forthcoming and cheerful. Ambience was good.<br/>We ordered pearl strawberry sensation jug and it was so perky and refreshing! Although a bit on the sweeter side, it was an overall refreshing drink.<br/>We started with a vegetarian entree - zucchini flower stuffed with ricotta and goat cheese. It was a unique preparation and very delicate one at that! <br/>I ordered chicken 317 which is their in-house specialty with encrusted chicken breast stuffed with ham and mozzarella. It was good and came with an assorted array of roasted vegetable and a sauce - the veggies were roasted to perfection!<br/>My friend had vegetarian hot pot and risotto - they used the same Neapolitan sauce which was kind of a no show. <br/>We were so full by the end of our meal we just could not have the courage to go for their desserts! <br/>I would give them full marks for service and presentation and ambience. <br/>Food wise, they have lot of room to improvise. The chicken was a tricky dish and they managed to pull that off! However the vegetarian dishes left us asking for more. <br/>Price wise, this place is on the high expensive side. But I don’t mind if the food is good. I know this is basically an Italian place and the influence of tomatoes is apparent, but it was overwhelming here! Also The zucchini flowers could have been more flavourful. Risotto was passable. And we almost left the hot pot unfinished because it was repetitive. The chef should keep these factors in mind while setting the menu. No one wants repetitive flavours. Overall a nice experience, may come again!<br/>PS. My vegetarian friend kinda had an upset tummy.

I stumbled across this spot one night when going out for dinner. The food was surprisingly so delicious. The mezza plate was my definite highlight. We sat in this little alley way with ambient lighting, perfect for a date night! Highly recommend.

Lovely live music on a Friday night with excellent food. Ordered the rump steak and entree sized scallops for a main. Both were lovely. Steak was cooked as requested - sometimes this can be difficult to be perfected! (Unpictured) we ordered a Mediterranean platter to share as entrees which consists of pita breads and 6 sides (olives, hummus, tatziki, feta cheese, sundries tomatoes). It was quite pricey for what it was. $23 for what we could’ve bought at woolies! Nonetheless, awesome dining experience.

First off just wanted to say that the service here was really good :) The staff were very attentive and approachable, but I did come at a pretty quiet time in the day (around 1 - 1:30 on a Sunday). My friends and I ordered a variety of dishes and overall they were flavourful and pretty decent portion sizes.
Excuse Me Waiter
Restaurant 317 has been a fixture in the Parramatta dining scene for over a decade, well-known for its extensive Italian menu and spacious, contemporary setting spread across two buildings linked by a shared laneway, which makes it great for group gatherings. We dropped by for lunch recently and started off our meal with Garlic Prawns from their sizzling hotpot selection to share. The juicy prawns were sauteed with fresh garlic in a delicious napoletana tomato sauce and served with some toasted bread on the side which we used to mop up that addictive sauce.

This is my go to place for food.<br/>I absolutely love it!<br/>Their menu is pretty extensive so it's hard to make a choice but whatever I order I'm never disappointed.<br/>Located more towards the end of Church Street but is still easy to walk to from the station.<br/>They have a big selection of drinks and awesome dessert as well.<br/>Should definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

With a modern take on rustic decor, friendly hospitality and generous portions of delicious food, Restaurant 317 brings a little bit of Italy to Parramatta's Eat Street. . For these reasons, it has become one of the precint's most popular dining spots. Since opening in 2005, Restaurant 317 has grown enormously, and it now spans into the adjoining building as well as the laneway joining the two spaces, yet it still manages to feel like an intimate dining space.

Didn’t have a great experience. Waited over an hour for food to come out, then when it did come it was so cold we sent back 3 dishes. Decided not to bother with 2 of the menu items, one came back “reheated” -still cold.<br/>The staff didn’t even comp the bill, had to be asked to take it off the bill.

It's a cold Friday night and also date night for Matt and I

Amazing gluten free restaurant! I had the Salmon which was divine, the skin was perfectly crisp! My girlfriend had the calamari. Service was fabulous. Waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. A little cold sitting outside. Was a lovely lunch. Will go back to try other things on the menu.

Ate from the set menu at a function. Set menu was pretty average and slow to come out. Set menu included a lot of seafood (which I'm not a big fan of) and little meat (which I love). Dessert was very well-presented but not anything special.

Loved the pasta here. So tasty and bursting with flavour. Can’t fault it. Both of the pasta dishes we had were impressive. The pizza was ok not as good as the pasta but it was still tasty. The staff and service were great. Can’t wait to go back.

This place actually has it all. <br/>The food is incredible. Clearly the staff have very high standards; you’d mistake some dishes for fine dining but everything is reasonably priced. <br/>Smooth, delicious drinks. Generous portion sizes. Fast, friendly service. <br/>The restaurant is well set out, clean and sheik. We have been here for casual lunches, work Christmas parties, birthdays and even a date or two ;) each time has been fantastic and the robust taste and quality of the food will keep us as loyal diners.

Ordering was an easy process <br/>Drinks - we had to request a refill the staff are not watching to see if it is empty to offer another. <br/>Antipasto platter was large worth the money and fresh with multiple meats and cheeses but really needed some crackers or small bits of bread.<br/>Mains were not great. The owner really needs to do a taste test of the<br/>Menu. Over marinated seafood and undercooked vegetables on other main meal.

My husband and I needed to eat somewhere for lunch before heading for dessert at Bay Vista. We ended up having lunch here. I found the meals were over priced, under seasoned, and lacked in flavour profile. The gnocchi that I ordered was dense and pretty much, I have not finished the dish. I will never come back here again because of the quality of the food. The service was prompt and we were served in a friendly manner as well.
The Naked Food Addict
Have been here a few times now and have had a different experience every time. Food has always come out quite fast, which is great, but I don't always enjoy it 100%. I used to order the pasta's which I definitely enjoyed, but on a more recent trip I tried their antipasto platter and chicken strips to which I felt both were quite average and nothing overly special unfortunately. Again, I have had good experiences here where I did enjoy their pasta and I would definitely still return again to try something different but just wasn't a fan of my most recent meal.

Elegant and inviting, Restaurant 317 is a Church St. staple. I have dined here multiple times and seldom left disappointed, thanks to the decent prices and completely justifiable portion sizes. Their seafood salad is one of the best I have ever tried, and the pasta always tastes authentic and cooked with care. I absolutely adore their penne chicken and fettuccine Mediterranean! However, the 'Express' section of the restaurant - although an understandably convenient idea-  is a far less comfortable dining atmosphere as it quite small and open and I would suggest waiting for a proper table rather than settling for Express if you have time. My second complaint would be the overwhelmingly large menu. Having options is good; being confronted with too many options, in my opinion, cheapens the dining experience. Nevertheless, it's a lovely place and I doubt you'd leave unsatisfied!
Rozz113
I ordered a pasta dish which i usually never do. Someone told me it was good... Anyway it was sooooooooooooo salty. The service wasn't too great either. I don't understand why my friend liked this place. We ordered an antipasto entree. It was much smaller than we expected and it cost a lot. Not going back.
Nesmar
I always have a great dining experience at 317. I can't say I have ever had a meal that I haven't enjoyed. Service is always friendly, great selection of drinks. They seem to offer gluten free alternatives for almost all of their meals which is great if you have some celiacs in your friendship circle, or are celiac yourself!
Kelly
Restaurant 317 is actually so good food wise. That salad was composed so well with the correct amount of dressing. Pizza was above average - I would rather smaller chicken bits than one big slice and the creamy seafood pasta was delicious!!! Not the slightest bit sickening if shared with friends. I will definitely be back

Being a local of Parramatta I visit this place frequently mainly for their chicken & mushroom risotto which I love & would say one of the best I have tasted. Love that they do take away & even better do delivery to the local surrounding areas. <br/><br/>& when at work I have also ordered a risotto take away on the Biz lunch specials. <br/><br/>On a date with mother dearest she ordered the pork belly which came out exactly like the menu described with crispy skin YUM! Which she thoroughly enjoyed. Service was good, I wish I got the waiters name he deserved more than a $10 tip!

Restaurant 317 is a great option for some decent Italian Cuisine. At first, we ordered their garlic cheese starter pizza. The garlic was not too overpowering, and had a nice subtle flavour which was pleasant. The cheese was melted well, and the base of the pizza was enjoyable too - as it wasn't too thin or thick. <br/><br/>For our main, we tried their spinach and ricotta ravioli Napoletana. The ravioli were really soft and flavoursome. It was quite a generous serving size, and was pretty filling too. The Napoletana sauce was rich, which went nicely with the spinach and ricotta inside the ravioli. <br/><br/>We concluded our meal with a Nutella dessert pizza. It was presented beautifully, and had a fair amount of Nutella. The strawberries on top tasted fresh, and contrasted well against the sweet Nutella. They are priced fairly average in comparison to their competitors. <br/><br/>Overall, the venue has a great atmosphere, the staff are friendly and they serve up some delicious food. We are looking forward to going back and trying more dishes.

A nice place for Italian in the Parramatta CBD. I had the risotto on the lunch menu and was not left wanting at all - the portion size was so generous. Worth a visit if you're in the area.

Had a family dinner tonight. The service was great, the staff were really friendly, and the food good. The only negative was the crumbed veal was pretty small for the price and my son actually asked if I'd ordered him a kids meal by mistake!
Monita
We enjoyed the meat platter for 2 for dinner tonight. Great value at $79 and huge pprtions. There was so much food we only got through half so unfortunately no room for dessert. The staff were more than happy to pack us up a huge doggy bag of leftovers. All the items on our platter were cooked perfectly, no complaints. Very extensive menu with the most gluten free options I've seen in any restaurant. Service was attentive and friendly. The pastas we saw going out to other tables looked delicious and we're huge portions. Would definitely return to try more of the menu.

I went here on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy which was good. The food came out quick and it was tasty, i also really liked the atmosphere of the place. Will be coming back!

Wonderful place for a casual dinner. There is a wide variety on their menu to suit any cravings. The food is great plus the service is delightful so it's definitely one of my go-to restaurants in the area.
Sweetandyummie
Very easy to get a table and the customer service is fast. The pastas are really delicious here and you can easily ask for the gluten free option. Spaghetti Marinara is my go to dish here.
Sal Eats Sydney
Had dinner here with friends and didn't have to wait very long for a table which was great. Staff were also able to move us away from the crowd. <br/><br/>Ordered pasta, pizza and pork belly. Food came out at the same time which was great considering they were super busy. <br/><br/>Food was tasty but not amazing. Pizza was pretty basic, servings for pasta were nicely sized but tad too much salt. <br/><br/>Got charged for drinks the table next to us ordered but that was easily sorted. Staff were friendly and service was relatively quick.<br/><br/>Prices are on par with other restaurants in the area. Food was ok, but not enough to make me want to hurry back.

I stumbled across this place during a work trip to Parramatta. It was the perfect place to sit back and unwind from the day. The food was great, service exceptional and the ambiance was just perfect. Imagine sitting outside on church street listening to a live cover band on a warm summers evening enjoying what this place has to offer.

The place is cavernous with a laneway in between. It Italian. Nice thin crust pizzas, recommend their meaty 317 and pretty chicken satay. Coffee is great. Nice well meaning though inexperienced staff.
Gabbys79
Food choice is large and food is always good. They are very good with chopping and changing the menu and over the years we have tried most dishes. It won't knock your socks off but service is great and like I said good is tasty and fresh. The chicken skewer is my fav! Comes with chips and salad however I asked for veggies

I went there tonight with my boyfriend - I had the seafood salad and he had the pork belly, both were delicious!!! <br/>What really set this restaurant apart was the live music that was playing throughout dinner, gave 317 a great summer vibe. <br/>I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a tasty, affordable dinner in a great atmosphere.

Food was ok for the price. Service was good and quick. I found the dish I chose a bit saucy for me but it tasted good. This was a good restaurant for fast service.
Akin Ozyigit
Food was very nice and I enjoyed my meal. However, the service from the start was slow. We were asked how many of us were in the group, then made to wait for our table which was available when we first arrived. Restaurant wasn't busy at all. Had to wait yet again because the staff were very inattentive to customers outside. In fact, there were moments where no staff members were even standing outside for a while. Towards the end, we wanted a drink for which we were told a staff member will come to take our order yet nobody came.
Silasozzie
nice food. too costly. Service was appalling. after ordering our drinks, we had to ask FOUR times where the drinks were. Food came out terribly slow. Restaurant was only 1/4 full. Then they had the audacity to tell us to hurry up and pay our bill. Maybe if the service hadn't been so slow, we may have finished earlier. Will never go again.
Meredith-Elisabeth Tan
Service was minimally available; it took a couple minutes to get a waitress / waiters attention. When attention was received, needs were met professionally. The food was mediocre. My first seafood plate was overcooked, rubbery bug, chewy octopus, dry barramundi and dried prawns. I told the waitress about the overcooked meal and received a redeemed second. The wine glass picture with the seafood plate was the overcooked one, clearly you can see it grilled to the unpalatable.
More Chilli
Service was slow but nice enough when they get a chance. Food a little disappointing, salt and pepper squid not good, pizza ok but covered in cheese ozzing oil. Don't think i will return for a while.
Ben Duncan
We went here for a friend's birthday dinner. The food was good, the service was a bit slow and overall, it was a bit too expensive for what we ended up getting. The restaurant was also cramped and we were all squished into two tables with very little room to move around. For a large group I probably wouldn't go back but for a small table it may be more comfortable.
Justin Brown
I'll keep this one short and sweet. The chicken burger was not dissimilar to the one which I generally order at my local takeaway shop, which is enjoyable, but no so much at the price tag attached to this one. The people who I dined with said they enjoyed their pasta, so perhaps the Italian options are the best ones?

An amazing night of food, atmosphere and service. <br/><br/>I booked the private table inside for a friday night dinner with girlfriends. <br/>The night was a resounding success! We were celebrating a special occasion, and the waiters were so helpful with our BYO. The private booth was exactly what we needed, and since it was slightly elevated - we were separated from the main crowd of the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is also lovely and updated. <br/><br/>The food was fantastic! The portions are very generous, so we had to take some of it away. I had the prawn risotto which was divine. <br/><br/>We ended up keeping the restaurant open a little longer as we finished dinner, and the staff never tried to rush us out like most places. All around, we had amazing service. <br/><br/>Definitely recommend !
Katherine Pham
Very trendy interior. Had the chicken burger from the express lunch menu. Service was fast and attentive staff. Burger was bland and needed more sauce.

We visited to grab a quick bowl of pasta before the theatre. I can only credit that the service was relatively quick. However the staff were vague and confused and forgot to include the bread we requested with our order. When I queried this, the waiter never returned so we had to forgo this. I also told them my husband was parking the car and would be along soon to order his dish but they did not come back in time to take his order so we had to share due to the time constraint. The 'home made pasta' was of the mass produced, factory made variety (Latina?) with an unimaginative and flavourless passata like sauce and no pepper or cheese was offered to compliment. At $21 a plate this was not acceptable, nor was the house wine at $29 a bottle. By comparison, as a resident of Crows Nest we are spoiled for choice with the quality and value for money in our local area and the next night we had 4 incredible tapas dishes made with love and imagination and a bottle of delicious Spanish wine for less than the cost of our 3 boring pastas and house wine at 317. Room for improvement guys.
Jim
Had lunch here, the food was quite nice. We were greeted immediately, although the man that greeted us did look as though he'd rather be somewhere else. Although a little pricey, it wasn't too bad, would I recommend this place, based on our experience, probably but, there are better in Parramatta.
Sharon Green
The range of gluten free foods is just amazing and it tastes absolutely wonderful - so full of flavour and everything cooked to perfection! Plus they are fully aware of non-contamination for coeliac which is awesome. The service is always the best - the staff are just awesome! 317 is now the only restaurant I trust when we go out!!

JUST DON'T GO THERE.WOULD RATE LOWER IF POSSIBLE.. Where do I even begin? In the past, I have had a few reasonably good experiences at this restaurant. So I decided to celebrate my birthday here. That ladies and gentleman-- was a fatal mistake...<br/><br/>So I made a reservation for 13 people. The restaurant did not call to confirm my reservation so I decided to call in myself to clarify/ confirm. The workers had no idea what was going on and could not even confirm a reservation over the phone. I had to be transferred to TWO different workers before they could confirm/finalize my reservation. This should have been my first red flag.<br/><br/>But wait, this is just the beginning of a cataclysmic tale of horrendous service and food that was to come.<br/><br/>Here are some of the FEW notable experiences of the night: <br/>*I arrived a few minutes earlier than my allocated time. Here I was barked at and told to "JUST WAIT OVER THERE, your reservation is at 8pm and its not time yet, so just stand at the bar if you want." <br/>*throughout the night I heard about 3 waiters scoff and comment (while rolling their eyes) "There are so many people there!" "why do they have so many people." (we sincerely apologize for imposing on you by selecting and supporting your business) <br/>* a few female waiters simply slammed the food in front of us, while maintaining their oh-so charming bitchy resting faces. <br/>*the food was... well, over cooked, undercooked you name it! it was all there. The food they served would have inspired the wrath and rage of a thousand burning suns from the likes of Gordon Ramsay... or any chef really...<br/>*one of the pastas they served was so creamy, rich and overcooked that my friend simply asked the waitress to take it back. Again, this oh-so charming female waitress barked at my friend "WELL what's wrong with it."<br/>*yet another female waitress comes to our table with drinks that we did not order. When we politely informed her that she got the wrong table she scoffs "oh my god" rolls her eyes at us and walks away. <br/>*I had to ask the waiter about 3 times to bring us the bill. You had one job... seriously. <br/><br/>From the bottom of my heart, i'd like to thank everyone at restaurant 317 (with an honourable mention to the wait staff) for ruining what was a much anticipated and special night.. My friends and I are all in awe of your ability to serve food that was difficult to stomach and somehow offend a table of 13 people. A special shout-out to the management for employing some of the most insufferable, rude and unaccommodating waitresses I have ever encountered in the Parramatta district. We are simply in awe...

Would rate lower if possible. If you love restaurant experiences of having to throw your food down your throat - after being told “you need to be out by 8” (even though you asked for an extra half hour upon booking) – try Restaurant 317! Their fantastic employees will ensure this to be the first thing they greet your table with. A reputable team of robotic wait staff will promise a night lacking any human service or emotion whatsoever, as 317 workers have not yet been programmed to ask “how are we going” or “how is your meal” (I made a request and they are unfortunately not yet geared to give a %&$#). <br/><br/><br/>317, you just lost 20 regulars, because holy sweet baby olives do you suck.

Could say that this was the most gratifying and mouthwatering oyster platter that I’ve ever had. An enjoyable array of flavours that’s well utilised and prepared. First thing you need to order is this, highly recommend and definitely coming back for more...
Snapshots Of Food
The food on the brighter side was amazing!! We requested to have the chicken strips and pizza come out as entrees. And as soon as we were finished, our mains (unexpectedly) came out straight away!! Fast service right there I must say.
Little Munch
The kids menu is a decent size and it includes pizza, pasta, risotto, and calamari/fish/schnitzel with chips. You can substitute mash potato or seasonal vegetables for the chips if you want to be a bit healthier. All kids meals cost $10.90 and the price includes a kids size soft drink that is sensibly served in a disposable cup with a lid and straw (big tick). Our little dudes had a pizza each and they were huge, so if you have small eaters they may be able to share a pizza.
Fight The Craving
Out in the open along with all the other restaurants along Church St in Parramatta, you won’t find 317 a very challenging place to get to. A 5-10 minute walk from the station (assuming you haven’t already settled down in one of the many restaurants before this) will land you in this modern looking Italian restaurant. Especially because of its complete gluten-free option, this may be the right restaurant for you. Upon arrival, one thing caught my attention, and didn’t really leave my mind for the rest of the night. The staff. Being greeted and sat down was possibly the most dull moment of my life. It felt like talking to robots. A large factor that certainly does decrease your enjoyment of being at a restaurant. First impressions of the menu was…overwhelming. There was a lot of options. It almost felt like they were trying to nail down every corner of Italian cuisine. Whi

I'm not sure if we caught them at a bad time, but the staff were slow, distracted and not very knowledgeable. Fortunately, the food was excellent, especially for the price, but I don't think I'll be going back for a good while.
The Food Zoo
It was around 8:30pm and the restaurant still looked full and we overheard the group of four ahead of us being informed that there would still be a 30 minute wait for a table. This did not upset me, however, as the thirty minutes would give us ample time to take a short walk up and down Church St, and help digest the previous meal. We head back at a little bit before 9pm hoping a few tables will have cleared, and luckily they had one table for us right at the door :) Banana Caramel Cake, $9.90 While I couldn't really taste the caramel, the banana was definitely in the slice of cake. The was a really fine biscuit layer under the cake that sort of just flaked away as you tried to spoon mouthfuls of the cake. It is a fluffy cake, that is considerably light. Chocolate Mud Cake, $9.90 I had been craving this cake for quite awhile. It is served hot and oozes chocolate. YUM! It is sweet but n

Terrible service, food...no comment. From the first greeting by some guy, we knew should have gone to Crinitis or somewhere else. not having kids cultery and way too much sauce in the pasta it was well below our expectation for a place on George St. Rude staff and very little care about customer service will ensure we never go back. Good food, worst service. Extremely rude waiters, sticky tables- but good food. Not sure if it's worth the awful treatment by the staff.

Terrible food. First time I went here I said id never come back because the pasta was so bland and tasted like it had been microwaved. Deciding to give this place a second chance I regret it. My beef lasagne was so bland and sickening. The cheese layer on top was thick and disgusting. We ordered a side of chips that honestly I believe were refried to heat them up. They were brown in colour and extremely oily. DONT BOTHER WITH THIS PLACE ITS HORRIBLE!!! my friend ordered chicken pasta and the chicken was sooo dry and overcooked. I dont know why this place is still in business.

Terrible Service, Rude Staff.. Service was absolutely appalling. Food came out between 45 minute intervals and the waiters/waitresses were rude and completely disrespectful. We we're completely ignored on more than one occasion and left without dessert because it was taking too long.<br/>Despite horrible service, the food was good

Date night. Great service, food very fresh and lots of it.... You don't walk out hungry. Would recommend to anyone.

Been here a couple of times now. The food is always amazing and staff are always very welcoming

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE on valentines 2014. It may have been a few months ago but they really have made an everlasting impression on me and I want to go back whenever I can.<br/>I made a last minute booking and they were happy to accept me just a day before Valentines because someone had previously cancelled!<br/>The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. They came around lighting everyone's candles and they refilled our drinks often. For the service my boyfriend tipped them well.<br/>The food was even better! <br/>We were not as happy with the pizza but the risotto really was outstanding and it is one of my favorite risottos in Sydney!<br/>The restaurant is a littlle noisy and crowded at times but the design as well as the atmosphere feels nice. It was great for a romantic date on a budget!<br/><br/>Portions are moderate sized.<br/>Oh also they took a picture of me and my boyfriend and never posted it up online which creeps me out!

I write this review standing out the front waiting for my friends. An empty restaurant but cannot fulfil my wish of a quiet table. Staff are rude! I can hear them talking about other customers dining. First impressions last and I won't even be tasting the food. So many options on church street!
Frankie
Worst $120 ever spent , never coming here again , poor quality food tastes like something that was defrosted, poor customer service considering 20 floor staff trying to figure out how to serve 40 people. That's how I felt maybe give it a go and see if you guys find the same Goodluck.

Never Again. A poor mans Crinitis. To their credit they did get the right pizza out of the freezer. Italian sausage pizza topped with snags that tasted like the good old Aussie BBQd type.<br/>No wonder the food critics won't venture into Parramatta.

Another church street parramatta slop fest just like crinitis a sure miss

Rude Staff, average food. I was fuming when I went to this restaurant on the weekend. The staff were extremely rude - basically a bunch of teenagers with no idea of what customer service is. The waitress who served me (with a nose ring) was more interested in flirting with boys than looking after our table.<br/><br/>The food was ok but nothing to rave about. I wouldn't have minded so much if the staff hadn't left such a bad taste in my mouth. There are loads of better restaurants on Church st to choose from. Don't bother giving your money to rude, arrogant staff like that. I don't know how they get away with it...

Great for a date. Went here with my partner yesterday and the staff were so polite. I don't often go to Parramatta and am largely unfamiliar with the place so I was looking all over the outdoor menus. Standing by the menu was a lovely woman who informed us that all the meals were gluten free and can be made vegetarian if needed. When we decided we would like to dine she had a lovely gentleman lead us to a table for two. Instantly we had menus delivered and a very patient waitress standing by our side waiting to take our order with a lovely smile. <br/>To be frank, the ambiance in this place is fantastic. It has a lovely sort of vibe to it and the decor is fabulous. Also, the place is really pretty on the outside too and we would have loved to dine outside, but we preferred the air-conditioned interior to the 30+ weather. <br/><br/>The menu is huge! But not off putting. The selection is great I would say. We went for the Mezze platter and the vegetarian pizza and a glass of wine each. The meals were received at good times. They gave us enough time to enjoy the starter and let it settle before bringing in a very hot freshly made pizza. The pizza was amazing! We even ate the crusts! It was that good! <br/>For those fussy eaters like me who must use a knife and fork, the pizza cuts nicely (also the cutlery is very light in the hand and easy to use) and it's not chewy or 'wet'. Needless to say, it made for a very romantic meal because we both ended up falling in love with the pizza...and each other of course! <br/><br/>Price wise, it is worth the cost, however I felt the starter was overpriced. $15 instead of $20 would be more justifiable for what was pita bread, dips, a few squares of feta, unpitted olives and balsamic vinegar, but the dips were delicious and fresh as was the pita bread. <br/><br/>When it came to finishing our meal, the waitress cleared our table and allowed us to sit and chat to let the food settle which I appreciated. Staff were always easy to get a hold of and were very friendly.<br/><br/>Definitely coming here again and looking forward to trying one of their pasta dishes and meat dishes.

Good pasta . Great bruschetta pizza but unsure about the chicken pizzas . We had really good service and a motivated waitress.

Disappointing!. I dined here with 9 other people on the 23/11/2013 at 8pm. Service was absolutely miserable with frazzled staff running around the place.<br/><br/>There weren't sufficient glasses for water on the table (missing about 4-5) and we had to flag down an ever-elusive waitress to actually request these cups. 20 minutes later, there was still no sign and we had to then speak to a different waiter who took our request for these glasses again. He also took our dessert and mains orders. <br/><br/>Orders came and went. <br/><br/>Water glasses were still not apparent on our table, so we gave up and it was apparent that we would be water-less for the evening. <br/><br/>Despite the amount of time we spent waiting (whilst being thirsty, mind you), orders were wrong. A friend ordered lemon/mango/vanilla gelato and was presented with a strawberry scoop instead. She can't even eat strawberries. So, no, there was no possibility of her 'accidentally' ordering strawberries. I was disappointed in the premium-priced tea that I ordered. Apparently, it's ok to charge people $3.90 for a 10 cent Lipton tea bag when your competitors metres away supply loose leaf/luxury tea pouches for exactly the same price. No waiters/waitresses stopped by our table to see if our meals were ok. It would be an idea to designate staff to man certain tables/areas of the restaurant, allowing service to be prompt and cohesive - instead of letting them run around like headless chickens. <br/><br/>Unfortunately, this dining experience was very negative and I can't say that I'll be bothered to return as your competitors (Bondi Pizza, Crinitis) outshine you in all aspects of food, quality and customer service.

My partner and i had dinner here. We had to wait..and wait to be seated - although there were staff passing by we were ignored. our waiter was promt with taking our order and the food came out rather quickly - we had to keep asking for our drinks though - several times. For entree had oysters kilpatric and natural (served without lemon and when we asked were informed they don't serve with lemon!) - don't bother!! tasteless natural oysters and overcooked kilpatrick. The mediteranian pizza was very tasty but the rocket not so. the parmesan slice they used to top the salad with tasted and felt like it was a week old and someone had left the packet open in the fridge!!!

So Rude. Went here on the 19/9/13<br/>The place was relatively empty.<br/>We waited at the door and there was no one greeting us so we went in and sat down. <br/>Eventually a tall young lady approached us and said <br/>" what do you think you are doing can you wait to be seated" very rudely. <br/>So we got up went to the front door and left. <br/>Turned my family off for good. I would not recommend this place.

I've been here multiple times. Very, very nice food. Creamy mustard chicken, spaghetti marinara and Nutella pizza are amongst my favourites. The last time I went, they put NO dressing on my Caesar Salad which was a disappointment.

My favourite restaurant! I'm here at least once a month. The food is well priced and absolutely delicious. I've tried most things on the menu and have never been disappointed. The customer service is amazing; the staff are also helpful and smiling. Very warm, friendly atmosphere. Love it! Will definitely keep going back!
Mrs Steal Yo Food
Disappointing like the rest of Parramatta. I went here with my boyfriend on our "cheat day". I went for the safer, lower carb option on the specials menu and ordered pumpkin soup. My boyfriend ordered one of the spaghetti dishes with Neapolitan sauce and a starter margherita pizza. The pizza was very disappointing and lackluster. My pumpkin soup was OK but not as pumpkin-y as i had hoped. I felt that I could have made a more pumpkin-rich soup at home. I was very saddened to see that my boyfriend was not content with his spaghetti dish. Very disappointing, ruined the anticipation we had for some Italian food after a week of basic, healthy eating and working out.<br/><br/>Our waitress was friendly but the other staff/cashier seemed very annoyed and unhappy to serve us.<br/><br/>I've since developed a huge disliking to most of the parramatta/church st area/strip because almost every restaurant I've tried here has been disappointing. There is barely anything here that is impressive enough to make their menu prices valid. It is all pretentious. It's like the restaurateurs here know that the area is full of dense-minded people who will ignore their taste buds and just come to parramatta because it offers tables and seats for friends to socialise.<br/><br/>I have gone to an Italian restaurant in Newtown and spent half the price I paid on much more generous, quality dishes and amazing pizzas that would make the whole of Italy proud.<br/><br/>Never coming back here again.

Awful Food.. We ate here as it was recommended by a friend who is gluten free. The food was just terrible and tastes like it had a tonne of salt in it........that's fine if their ploy is to get diners to order more drinks, but alas it is virtually impossible to do that as the service is so bad. Such a waste of money.

Worst in PARRA. The bad rating speaks volumes..many have turned away in droves due to the overpriced nature of the food and bad customer service..all of which I experienced when eating the bland and dull food<br/><br/>will not be returning ever
Bella
Totally under rated and "definately not" worth the effort, avoid disapointment DONT go there. I cannot believe they actually are classified as "italian" food. This place is a rip off! $59 for two very low class pizza's and a coke. DOMINOS PiZZA wins awards and is 150% better than what 317 brought to the table.<br/>Bad service! The staff collect the plates, glasses while your still eating. Dare to blink for one moment or your glass will dissapear. The staff hover over your table are rude and arrogant and the food is terrible. A BIG thumbs down from me.

Very Disappointing Dinning. One of the worst pizza's I have ever eaten, the 2 main ingredients in all pizza's just had no taste or flavour. The pizza base was like lebanese bread which is great for wraps but not for a $22 pizza and the mozzarella cheese you couldn't even taste it & to top it off both pizza's were under cooked.<br/>Service was crap as the waitress stands there staring at you whilst you eat. Then to top it off they give me the wrong bill to pay which was double the price...<br/>I would never go back again... crap food and crap service
Hen
Short and sour review , starting off the the service being very very poor ,especially for the over staffed floor a few amateurs need a lot of training. Food was honestly disgusting and i was so hungry.. S till had to go eat oportos on the way back to the car . The wait time and overpriced menu for the complete product is a joke . Go re write the menu and get an open kitchen so the public can see what is happening in there as well who is working in there because a few people may be surprised . Will not be coming back .

First off, Service was pretty decent. Waited more than 20 mins to get the attention of a staff member to order. Food took a while to come out, When asked why it was taking so long the waiter told us 'technical difficulties'. After the hour wait, food was below average. For the price and time wasted on the food, we expected it to be more decent than what it really was. Overall although the service was pretty friendly it did not make up for the wait and food in the end.

Repeat Customer. Had my 30th with these guys, food was amazing, service was wonderful. Recommended it to my family and friends. My parents went with some of their friends and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. We try to get to this restaurant a few times a year.
Cindy
A must-try!!. My boyfriend and I went here for our 18 months dinner. The service was great and their food were exceptionally tasty. I highly recommend the lamb cutlets dish, their lamb was cooked to perfection, both tender and succulent. Be sure to book ahead before you dine though this restaurant does get crowded quickly! One of my favourite place to dine at,will definitely be back!
Crumbs
We booked for a Friday night and for whatever reason they had us down for Saturday. They said we should have received a follow up call but that never happened. But that wasn't the sad but, the lady at the front never apologized for the confusion she looked at us as though it was our fault. Then my 8 month pregnant friend arrived in time for the lady to say "you can just wait for a seat to become available?" Yea a pregnant lady isn't going to stand in the pouring rain for over rated cafe food!! Sheesh what is wrong with the world??
Yordal
Not bad, Not great!. Simple clean premises, food was quick to the table and service ok. Would definately go back.

Firstly I'm surprised this place has such a high rating. I've been here a few times for some friends bdays and I think it's very average. It is quite expensive and the food is crap. The bowl of steamed veges we got looked and tasted exactly like frozen supermarket ones wtf. The other food was so greasy and without any nice flavours. They take forever with food n service and charge too much for what it is. Only go here if you're hungry and will be happy with average food
Jana
Food used to be better a couple of years back its alright now, but i still come here and have a good time.

Rude. Really rude staff and service was so slow. Food was ok, but I wouldn't come back again just for that.

Delicious pasta and reasonable prices. E sure to book ahead if you plan to visit on a busy night like Friday or Saturday. Service is nothing to write home about.

Gluten free delight. Fantastic food. Each dish that came out was full of flavour and we had the option to go gluten free on every one of those dishes. To finish our dinner we had their mousse swirl and Tiramisu dessert which were both amazingl<br/>The waiters were very prompt and helpful and we didn't have to wait very long for the food. It was a very enjoyable experience.

Large servings, nice decor and ambience. Pizza was fantastic and staff were helpful.
