Review Sicilian Parramatta - Parramatta

This place definitely surprised me - the interior may be slightly outdated and tacky however the good quality that gets delivered here is quite high and tasty. The ravioli and prawn and chicken fettuccine was my favourite dishes!

Have been here multiple times with my wife and also in large settings. Ambience for both are great! It’s a great date night and catch up with friends with both instances. Preference food wise is the individual plates and choices. I find more quality and satisfaction with them. The group function meals were ok. Just didn’t taste of the same quality. Especially the pastas. Service is great and everyone I spoke to were both friendly and accommodating. Definitely will be back. Advice if coming at peak times there is paid park directly behind the restaurant.

What can i say. We came in for our anniversary dinner, and not only was the food and service amazing but they even remembered that it was our anniversary from when we had our wedding reception here a year ago, even though we didn't even mention it. They even blew us away with a free dessert. To the whole team at Sicilian. Thank you. You made our night perfect!

Had a birthday party here. Very good service, warm atmosphere and nice staff. Food was really good and big serves. All guests full by the end of the night. Definitely worth going to for having a birthday. Good value for money. The set menu virtually all you can eat.

A nice place to go with family or friends for Italian food. Good amount of veg options. They have express lunch too. They serve alcohol too. They provide complimentary wine or soft drink with main meal. Happy hours are from 3-6 pm. Portions are quite large.

“Table for 9 please...” I should have captured staff’s expressions. It felt we said something terrible, did not felt welcomed. Food was ok, staff can learn to smile a bit more 😊

Very friendly staffs with nice ambience, few mins walk from Parramatta Station, one of the fine dining restaurants in the area. Fresh and authentic Italian foods - worth the money 👌 We appreciate the free slice of cake and for singing Happy Birthday to this handsome boy..

The online booking system was easy to use. The booths are great and the atmosphere is lively but not noisy. We could see the football on the tv too, which my boyfriend was pleased about. The trio of dips with the pizza bread was good, but missing something. The bread needed a little moisture, maybe olive oil or garlic butter. The beetroot dip was delicious (my favourite) and the hummus was great too. The gnocchi was supposed to come with olive tapenade, but that was missing from the dish. It made the dish a little bland for my tastes. The creamy seafood pasta was excellent. The table didn't have any pepper or salt. Some service staff didn't have much of an idea what was happening on the floor, though they may have been new to the restaurant. They looked quite young. One waitress was lovely and very attentive. She brought our table additional cheese, which is always a nice surpise. This restaurant does seem quite expensive for Italian food in Parramatta.
The Hungry Hippo
Nice big restaurant. Great selection of mains from pizzas, pasta, salads and bbq. Good size portions. A tad expensive though. But food was delicious. The chips under the ribs were perfect, crispy and well seasoned. Would definately come back.

Visited few times.. pumpkin ravioli with goat cheese is fantastic. Woodfire pizza is good.
We came for lunch on a Sunday so it wasn’t too busy. The wait time for the food was reasonable and service was as you’d expect. Nice ambience.
Kid’s pizza is a bit too big for a kid, don’t know how they think a child can eat a pizza that big.
Ravioli serving size was pretty small considering the price. Gnocchi tasted amazing. Margherita pizza was decent but I expected better from a restaurant with such a big emphasis on being Italian. Layer of cheese was just way too thick and of course once the pizza cools down the cheese hardens so its a thick slab of cheese on a thin base. Not bad, but not good either.
I would probably come back but it wouldn’t be my first option. There wasn’t really anything exciting about the food that leaves me craving for more.

Decent Italian restaurant in western Sydney - prices are reasonable for portion size. Restaurant has nice ambience and attentive staff - pizzas and pastas are good. Nutella dessert pizza was interesting.

Here you can enjoy eating delicious pastas, pizzas and many more tasty dishes outside in comfortable surroundings or enjoy your amazing fare inside amongst the decorative décor. The food is fresh, colourful, beautifully presented and it all really tastes oh so good!. To start with Mlday eyed the cocktail list and decided on a Cosmopolitan. She loves the combo of this – Vodka shaken with Cointreau, fresh lime and cranberry juice. She really enjoyed this so much that she had a another one!

Slow service but well worth the wait. The pasta here is on another level. So fresh and so tasty. There is heaps to choose from and all looked so good. Well worth a try.

Been here a couple times for lunch and I always order from the express lunch menu! Ive tried the veal bosciola, lamb pasta and fettuccini carbonara. The quality is great, portions are always so filling and service is quick! The staff are very friendly. If you choose an item on the express lunch menu, you can get a complimentary soft drink!! Go to Italian fix for my colleagues and I in Parramatta.

Me and my partner went for saturday dinner to this restaurant, its quiet popular and was packed on a sat nite. Managed to get a table at a side. On obsetvation , this place needs a makeover. Wobbly chairs and tables and cramped up setup to accomodate 2 seat tables. Steps leading to washroom are Carpeted which are dirty and smells. Not impressed. On a good note, food was decent, servers are serving wt a smile. Quick service on a busy weekend nite.
Food - 4
Service - 4
Ambience - 2
Pricing - 3

Mains:
We tried Mexicano pizza-- Really spicy , probably the spiciest pizza i have had. BTW i like spicy but this was a bit of a kick.

fettucini geraldo - creamy avocado infused pasta

Deserts:
tiramisu - Decent
mango pannacotta- Not recomended

Huge delicious meals! The meat was cooked to perfection no matter what it was. I had the shared meat platter and the meat was juicy and falling off the bones. The serving sizes were huge and just what we needed after a long day. They accommodated our group of 10 without any booking with no hassle at all.
Unfortunately the service or lack there of let them down. When we were seated they didn’t do a drinks order and when one of the group waved a waiter down for a drink they didn’t ask the rest of the group. Then once the first round of drinks was finally served along with our dinner the staff didn’t come back to our table.
They would have got a 4 if the service was if the expected standard or a 5 if above average. Therefore go there for the yummy large servings of food but with the expectation of below par service.

If you live in the Parramatta area and you are craving Italian food, the Sicilian Parramatta is definitely the place to eat. It’s Italian food with an Australian twist but nonetheless tasty and well done. Highlights were the seafood dishes and the pizza. #pizza #seafood #italianfood #ravioli

One of the worst places I’ve ever eaten at. Did not even want to pay the bill for such trash. ordered a tomato bruschetta pizza, it came without tomatoes and when we asked for the tomatoes (because that’s what we ordered) the staff started having a gossip session about us. Progressed to mains, where it took 1 hour and 35 minutes to come out- totally unacceptable. One of the pizzas hadn’t even been sliced, we asked to get it cut into sliced and the staff seemed super annoyed with us. Had to ask for cutlery and table water. Complained at the counter and the manager who had no idea what she was doing said there was nothing she could do. What type of manager is this? Save your money and go somewhere else. I wish I could submit this with 0 stars.

I've been here about 5 times. 5 times meaning 5 chances. I've asked for table water everytime I eat here, and noone gets it or remembers. Considering how busy it may get, the service isn't efficient. Food takes ages to come out no matter how many chefs they have, the waiters/waitresses are quite forgetful and food is salty and pricey, taking into consideration of the overall experience.

Prior to going to the Sicilian, I was told many good things about the place and the food; but I was unfortunately let down with my experiences.
The food was quite average- the pasta was over cooked, and the salads were bland.
The toilet was upstairs and it had no aircon during 40 degree heat. I also had a friend trip over the ripped carpet.
The service was attentive and the ambiance was lively, which made ur experience pleasant.
Warrenrmuller
Poor quality food as pizza with Italian sausage had something that was definitely not Italian sausage.

Service is poor as they are all over you to take your orders and once t g at is done you struggle to get their attention.

Restrooms and carpeting are tired and can do with a refurb.

For the quality of food they are overpriced. Bondi pizza is definitely a better deal
Average Italian restaurant. Very accommodating for a large staff party. Garlic pizza for entree was delicious! Squid was quite flavourless and average Caeser salad. The salmon and quinoa salad was nice except I didn’t enjoy the lemon butter sauce... tasted like a lemony hollandaise. Loved the cannoli!!!!

Came here for lunch and we took advantage of their lunch specials. Pricewise, it’s very reasonable (under $20) and you’ll get complimentary wine or soft drink.
We ordered Peperoncino Pollo Pizza, Fettucine Geraldo and Sirloin Steak. My personal favourite is the pizza. A bit spicy and the sauce was tasty.
The restaurant itself is very spacious and can easily accommodate large group of customers.

This place serves awesome pasta and pizza. The place has good amount of space with friendly staffs, quick service and you don't feel rushed. Recomended for pasta and risotto lovers. Chicken and mushroom risotto with pesto sauce is a must try.

I loved this place the wait staff were friendly and helpful. Our table was in a spot that was a little out of the way, but, that didn’t matter the wait staff never forgot about us and were still very attentive!

The food was just delicious we had the “pane dips” As an entree which was pizza bread and a trio of dips (beetroot, hummus and olive). Yumm! I wish there was more of the bread so good!

My friend had the Fettuccine Gamberi and I had the Penne Alla Norma. They were just divine! The wine choices were fantastic too! Can’t wait to come back here again!

Decent and attentive service. Ravioli, Pasta and Rissotto are great BUT, the restaurant lost 1 star as the Pizza was very average. Recommended.

A good place for dinner. Thums Up for quality and quantity for food. Gnocchi and passion fruit mocktail seemed ok. Wedges were crunchy n soft, loved it. Want to definitely try pizza next time.

Very good quality food. Very good service. I had the Moreton Bay Bugs. The servicing was very generous. It would have been five star except my friend asked for his steak blue. First steak delivered was well done, second medium rare. Didn’t send it back a third time. At least he said it was a great tasting steak.

Great italian atmosphere and food, pastas and calzone were great. The service was the best. I will be definitely coming back for more. :) :)

+3 standard starting points for edible food served
-1 overcooked risotto and penne
-1 below average sauce and seasoning

It’s not cheap, but the food is poor.

Love the food and the customer service is not bad as well the only thing is the menu is too old and boring they need to update it and add more things
Bonastar1977
My favourite things at an Italian restaurant - wood fire pizza, fresh basil, olive oil in its proper container and beer - this place had it all! Furthermore the waiter was attentive and polite. I highly recommend!

This is the second time I've eaten here on a 50% off food deal and both times the food has been great. Huge portions and everything was very tasty. Love the food. The decor is also very nice. The only thing letting this place down is the service. Waiters are disinterested and not friendly. On both occasions the waiter never came around to ask us if we wanted more drinks (we were a group of 6 and would have spent double what we did on drinks at full price had they taken initiative to ask us). We weren't asked if we wanted dessert or coffee either. Both times I had to ask for the discount to be applied to the bill which was a little awkward and when we dined in a group of 6 they really didn't make it easy for us to split the bill. We were all paying cash and included a tip to make it a round number so it would be easy to pay, we just needed change however the person taking the payment was very unhelpful and didn't make it easy for us . If the service issue happened once I'd think they were just having a bad night but I've had the same experience twice in 4 weeks. Bad service is really letting this place down as the food is delicious.

I had the “homemade” tiramisu. It was good but then as I dug deeper in it, there was a long brown strand of hair. I told one of the staff there. She looked at me disappointed and then walked away with my plate. She came back and informed me that it the strand of hair could be from the manufacturer that made their cake. She did not apologise but she did not charge me for it. I’m very disappointed not because of the hair but the fact that it says “homemade” on their menu when in fact they did not make it at all.

One of the great places to dine! Absolutely great food and great service. We had ordered vegetarian risotto and pan seared salmon. The fish was gorgeous ... and my friend liked the risotto, although he was playing around with the eggplant, not a big fan of eggplant... will be back for more.

Sicilian is a restaurant on Church Street, Parramatta. The restaurant is quite spacious and has a good atmosphere. The service is decent but is worth it as the food tastes very nice. The meals are quite pricey but is compensated by the quality of the food.
A Guide For Your Appetite
Good Atmosphere, Great Service, Delicious Food

I took my family to this restaurant because I had guests from London. As we stepped in we were greeted by a professional waiter or door man who was very respectful and without delay, he checked our name on the guest list and took us to our table.

We then ordered some drinks to start the night and then we ordered our meals.

The restaurants had a lot of people however there WAS ALWAYS waiters available to take orders and assist their customers.

service - undeniably perfect. always waiters around to assist. even the young staff were able to recommended a good wine. all of them were friendly and professional.

Food - wow the food was just melting in your mouth. it was delicious and full of flavour. we ordered, pizza, seafood, meat and chicken and there was no complaints. food came and everyone went quiet and were actually surprised at how much flavour there was.

Value - compared to the restaurants in the area, the value was in line with other restaurants yet one advantage with this restaurant was it had professional service, good food and great atmosphere.

Atmosphere - there was a lot of people in this restaurants. I saw friends catching up, families, boys / girls night out and there was even mothers with their kids there having dinner. everyone seemed like they were enjoying themselves. It was a all round great atmosphere.

Merry Christmas to the team @ Sicilian Parramatta,
Thank you very much for hosting our Fonality Team Christmas Luncheon.
Your impressive food are amazing - We hope you all enjoy your holidays.

Had dinner here just last night with my lovely MIL to celebrate birthday. We made a booking, and was accommodated very well. The ambiance was really nice and cozy, I loved their decore and mostly, I love the garden that they made thru the glass wall on one side of the resto which was just so refreshing to look at. It creates a great ambiance loved it.

The service was really nice, they'll we'lcome you nicely, they look very tidy and they are very polite. They also check on how food was, and when our water was finished, they gave us another one which I find good , coz then we don't have to sort of look for one of them and tell them that we need one.

For drinks we ordered the lime and the passion fruit mocktail and also lemon lime&bitters. Mine was the lime and I absolutely loved it, was so refreshing! Then we had the Garlic Itallian Ciabatta which was a-h-mazingly good! Bread was so soft! Then crispy on edges and so garlicy and buttery which I just loved! It was served with 2 large slices of bread.

For mains we had the Modern Sicillian (Lamb Pizza) - loved the flavours! I find the brocolli on pizza nice actually! Then we also had gnocchi and lobster&crab ravioli, we all shared so had to taste all the dish. Ravioli was absolutely perfect! I couldn't fault the dish! The pasta, the meat, the sauce, the sweet potato garnish, everything! The gnocchi was also very smooth, n lump and the sauce was delish! Flavours was great! My favorite was the ravioli! If you are craving for some good Italian food, go here and you'll never be disappointed :D Their food was all worth the price.

We'll come back again definitely. :)

Decent pizza, shocking service!

The food was good, I had calamari and Diavola pizza and they were both very good, but the service was borderline rude and the glass of wine may as well have been served in a shot glass...won't be returning despite the good food.

Really good dishes!
Well priced!
Place is huge - question the number of waiters here during peak. Feels difficult to get the attention of one.

I came to know about this place through zomato. Read the reviews and they serve drinks too so thought we should try it. It's located walkable distance from parramatta station. U can spot the restaurant as from u walk in the same direction. We didn't reserve any table just walked in.

The restaurant is very spacious and we were seated on a table for two. I loved the decor paintings, firewood and the table had candlelight too.

We started with the drinks. I had ordered for tight walker chardonnay and hubby had glenfiddich single malt scotch. Both the drinks were good.

For entrée we ordered the bruschetta pomodoro thought the quantity was less the quality was excellent. Just loved it totally yummmy. Also ordered the classic arancini risotto balls. It was veg but it was so yummy. Loved this one too.

For mains we ordered for the peperoncini pollo pizza which had chicken along with rocket leaves, onion, Chili, BBQ sauce and mozzarella. This was thin crust on the inside and soft on the edge. It was yummy and filling too.

For desserts we ordered the mild strawberry pillow. It had strawberry mousse on a brexton chocolate Base and it was so tasty. The presentation was beautiful.

Service was good and the servers were attentive. They did check with the chef for our preferences.

Pricing is definitely high but the quality of food was good.

Had a great dinner and will forward to trying their pasta next time.

If you ever want a good wood fire pizza and good cocktails and great staff with a warm atmosphere
And fresh ingredients this is the place to go

Loved the look of this restaurant as I walked past.

Was treated and sat immediately.

Decided to get the veal and porcini mushroom ravioli. Loved the flavours when I ate the ravioli and mushroom together. Needed more pepper for my tastes lucky it was on the table.

Quite enjoyable not the most amazing I've ever had though.

This place USED to be good. Now it tastes like they have cheapened the ingridents they use. I used to get this nice bbq prawn dish, it was expensive but worth it. They don't have it anymore. Their lamb pizza was really good before but now it's not nice. What happened??

I always go back to Sicilians. Very trusty Italian restaurant close to home. I went for my birthday recently with 7 of my friends, we are seating away from the main part of the restaurant which was nice. Good to be away from noise. However, the girl who served us seemed to have hated her job. She wasnt the really enthused to speak to us, she stared at her note pad and barely looked at us. Otherwise the food is about an 8/10 everyone in the group seemed to have liked it.

This place has so much potential, but ive never come away feeling truely satisfied with my meal. The food is decent but its just not outstanding. It could be outstanding. It should be outstanding.

A friend and I came to Sicilian on a Thursday night. We didn't make a booking but it was fine. It did start to get a bit busier as the night went on. I had the ragu and my friend ordered the crab and lobster ravioli. My ragu was delicious however the only thing I would say is that the ricotta really didn't do anything for the dish. They should have added Parmesan instead. But the meat was delicious and pasta was cooked well. I tried my friends pasta and it was also delicious. The sauce was great! I also had a chai latte which was good but could have used a bit more cinnamon flavour throughout. Service was fine and prices can be a little pricey depending what you get. Overall, a good experience and I will most likely returns

Located in the heart of Parramatta’s Church street restaurant district you will find a slice of Sicilly at Sicillian Modern Italian and Woodfire Pizza. The restaurant serves authentic Italian cuisine filled with bold, rich flavours. The décor is rustic, featuring a log wall and sandstone beams which brings warmth to a very vast dining area. The seating available includes booths both inside and outside which offer a cosy place for a romantic meal or a comfortable space for dinner with family and friends, or tables which cater for groups of any size. Staff were welcoming and provided useful insight into popular selections from the menu.

Sicillian has a vast drink menu which includes a large number of wines, spirits, cocktails and mocktails for those designated drivers out there. The mojito was fresh and zesty, perfect for a warm summer evening and the fruit tingle, as the name suggests left a fruit tingle on the palette.

The classic arancini risotto, a creamy risotto ball deep fried leaving a crisp, crunchy exterior was the perfect start to our meal and was finished with a sweet marinara sauce and creamy fetta crumble. The flavours were well balanced and there were plenty to share!

Agnello Spiedini, one of Sicillian’s renowned dishes was quite the spectacle. This featured a slow roasted lamb rump, marinated in rosemary, black garlic and pepper was served on a skewer with a rich, creamy garlic and red pepper infused sauce. The flavoursome sauce was the perfect accompaniment for the lamb which was cooked beautifully, rotisserie style with a smoky undertone.

We also enjoyed the Pollo Escallopes, grilled chicken breast finished with olives, tomatoes, basil and buffalo mozzarella. The succulent chicken was cooked very nicely, served with sprouts and mini potatoes which paired the dish together nicely. Flovours were subtle, but very enjoyable.

Because we were looked after so well, we opted to share a dessert. We chose the chocolate brulee dome which layered a flourless chocolate sponge, chocolate mousse and caramel brulee inside a dark chocolate ganache dome dusted with flakes of gold. The dessert was quite rich so the white choloate gelato was the perfect accompaniment.

Great place to get some decent Italian food. We came on Valentine's Day and it was packed. After waiting for 15 minutes we were lead to our table. The staff was super friendly and gave us some recommendations from the menu. The food came out quickly too.

The dimly lit atmosphere is perfect for dates and catchup with mates. Overall, would come back again whenever I am in Parramatta.
The Next Rush
It’s always a pleasure to visit a venue that has stood the test of time like Sicilian has for over a decade. Seafood dominates as it does in the region of Italy that this menu is inspired

LOW CARB BURATTA CHEESE - served with rocket and figs, dried cherry tomato, toasted ciabatta garnished with fig reduction

CLASSIC ARRANCINI DI RISOTTO - this is the main way Sicilians use their rice next to risotto, in its natural flavors and stock, sits on marinara sauce and shredded fetta.

PORK BELLY: The crispy pork belly with truffle mash, seared scallops finished with an apple mousse and cider reduction. The meat is so tender and and its rind making a nice crackling sound when breaking! Great contrasts and perfect prep.

BAIA MORTO BAY BUGS: Grilled garlic and herbed infused Morton Bay bugs rested on basil infused rustic mash and roasted vegetables (zucchini caps), finished with Sicilian Hollandaise sauce

RISOTTE DI PESCE: Is typical of the sicilian island as their risottos will predominantly always feature their local catches. Prawn, calamari, vongole, octopus, and mussels feature here with fresh roma tomatoes and saffron.

NUTTELLA PIZZA: It was impossible not to have a pizza from the feature woodier oven in the lower ground dining area. Chef made us a fantastic banana and strawberry creation with a luscious nutella base and a centerpiece of ice cream. Such simplicity, yet rich and elegant - perhaps the underlying thread to the success of the menu and this venue that has served tens of thousands of meals over the decade.

Karina and her team served our table, were very helpful with recommendations and the wait times were surprisingly quite swift considering a number of large groups had walked in while we waited to order. The ambience is classy and sophisticated, nice booths in the lower dining area, and versatile table settings to suit all occasions on the upper split levels and rear bar areas. Al Fresco dining is also available.

A leader in the Parramatta dining scene for sure with a rich history and truth to Sicilian cuisine.

Beautiful Italian Style pizza bar and Ristorante in Parramatta. We shared entrees and mains on the recommendation of the floor staff and it was all great. They even do a Nutella pizza for the sweet tooths out there. Lovely option!
Gina Wu
Poor service and terrible food. It's not easy to find such bad Italian food in Sydney. Not to mention those indifferent waiters. It seems they only act when you call them three times. Pizza there tastes extremely salty and that's the only flavour. Seafood spaghetti taste not fresh at all. The only thing good is their bottle soft drinks since they don't produce it.

Sicilian in Parramatta has been around for 14 years. I visit this Italian institution and only pay 50% of the food bill via a new website I found called First Table. I love a good bargain so when I recently found out a way to save on my dinner bills, I thought - why not?. for full review and photos, go to the blog post

We had a party of 20+ for our work Xmas party. Very disappointed with the service provided by the manager/owner of the restaurant. We had a drink package for 2 hours and it took over 1/2 hour for the first round to be served. He was also mean to his staff.

We would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!

Classic homely Italian meals. Service is friendly, casual and attentive. Pizzas looked great as they were not overtopped, but we opted for pasta that was rich and tasty. Ingredients evidently fresh and of high quality.

This place is an institution in Parramatta and I remember going here over 10 years ago - it looks exactly the same, and may need a bit of a spruce-up, especially since mains now hover around the $30-40 mark.

This is a great restaurant. Good atmosphere along with fast and friendly service. I had their arancini balls with steak as the main. The arancini balls were absolutely delicious! And the steak was cooked to perfection.

Overall: Thumbs up 👍🏽
Once Upon A Craving
Dined here with a dimmi offer. I ordered the balmain bug (because if it's on the menu one must order the balmain bugs). It came on a bed of mash potato and steamed vegetables. It was seasoned and came with a wedge of lemon to freshen up the dish.

Overall it was yummy, well balanced would have been better with a rich lemon butter sauce in addition to mesh the dish up better. Well priced with the offer, however maybe a bit pricey without.

Overall, nice restaurant for a catch up with friends/family.

One word.. FABULOUS! We had booked for dinner on a Saturday evening. We were greeted at the door, and led to our table. The wait staff were polite, courteous and something you don't see often these days.. cheerful!!!
Now for the food.. we ordered lemon lime bitters, some garlic bread, pasta di palermo (chicken, bacon, snowpeas with fettuccine in a creamy sauce), penne alla norma (penne with roasted veggies in a tomato sauce) and a messicano pizza(spicy pepperoni, onion, capsicum, mozzarella on tomato sauce). The fettuccine was perfect, the sauce creamy without being overbearing. The penne was cooked al dente and the sauce was bursting with flavour.. very good indeed! The pizza came from a wood fired oven and was a stunner.. reiterating the fact that 500 toppings are not needed to make a great pizza. The base was thin and was crisp enough to hold the toppings. The garlic bread was simple too, just the way it should be.
Overall, we couldn't fault the service or the food. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back!!

Woodfire pizza was not cooked fully, when asked for pepperoni on a margarita (to make it a pepperoni pizza) rather than use logic and put the pepperoni on the pizza before cooking they put it on after which was odd. Sauce was a basic tomato puree that lacked salt and flavour.
The beef ribs and chips was lacking; the chips were under cooked and tasted awful, the ribs were not fully cooked through. The meat didn't fall off the bone, it was tough, chewy and very stringy.Service was a bit slow, had a waiter completely ignore us (we had our menus closed and in the middle of the table) walk up to a couple who were seated well after us to take their order.

The experience was fairly average and the food was below par, for the prices they charge the food and service has to take a step up.

Myself and three others came here last night for a birthday dinner. The restaurant was lovely inside, quite a big restaurant and very busy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The starters, two garlic pizzas without napolitana sauce were very tasty. Our mains were quite ordinary and came out cold. We were hungry so we just ate the meals. I shared a marinara pasta and a marinara pizza. The pasta was okay, nothing spectacular. The pizza came with a few prawns, a couple of mussels and lots of salmon. If I wanted a fish pizza I would have ordered one, and after reading on the menu 'mixed seafood' I was not very impressed. It would have been nice to have the same seafood on the pizza as was in the pasta. The bbq meat pizzas seemed to be better and although cold, the boys devoured them quickly. It was a nice evening nonetheless, however, I probably wouldn't go back any time soon.

Came here for my boyfriends birthday dinner and to be honest I was a little dissapointed! The menu looked quite promising and so did the decor of the restruarant with the big woodfire oven in the back but the service was incredibly slow! Even tho I had made a booking in advance we had to wait by the door as there was no one to greet us when we came in and then the wait for menus and even basic table water took over 5 minutes.

We ordered the antipasto platter (which could do with some more olives and bread), the redeeming factor was the ham which tasted good not like the cheap stuff. For the main we got the steak with the 'newborn' potatoes - not really sure what that actually means haha but they did taste really good so we were quite happy with that order! I really think this place could do much better if they hired some extra staff, you already have the decor and the food is pretty good!

Ps At one point the guy making the woodfire pizza (usually behind the counter) had to come out and greet customers which revealed his skins leggings with hot flames which was a good laugh haha props to you pizza man!

One of the top restaurants in Parra. Its gorgeous decor and large space makes it ideal for group dinners, plus the food is top notch too. I really enjoyed the pesto gnocchi!!

Waited 50 minutes until our side dish came - a measly handful of chips that is worth $8 on the menu. We didn't even get our entree and weren't offered table water. Worse dining experience... Ever.
Came here for dinner after wondering around parramatta for about 20 minutes trying to decide what to eat. The space is seriously huge. We chose to sit outside and our waiter swiftly brought our drinks out and took our food order. Unfortunately the food didn't match the service of our waiter. I had the carbonara, it was so dry with barely any sauce and the pasta tasted like flour. The bacon was too smokey and overtook the mediocre taste of the pasta. The bruschetta was yummy (loved the haloumi), but the aracini balls definitely fell short. They didn't melt in your mouth or break away easily, they were quite hard and difficult to chew.

Good portion of food, tasty, service is average. The waiter forgot to replace the culinary and the wine I ordered.
Casual and comfortable environment.

Honestly the worst experience I've ever had dining out - in fact, if I could give a lower review I would. My friend and I went there to eat on two other good reviews, and I was not expecting to have such a terrible time. Firstly, when we were seated, our waitress approached us immediately with an attitude to take our entree orders. We told her that we were not ready to order yet so we had to wait a much longer period of time for her to get back than we expected. I ordered the fettuccine Geraldo, and my friend ordered the ragu. Within ten minutes of ordering, our food came out and immediately, I was worried after watching one too many episodes of kitchen nightmares and coming to the conclusion that the food had most certainly been microwaved, as mine was barely lukewarm. The fettuccine was tasteless, and the prawns that I had in it tasted off as well. It took us ten minutes to find someone who would give us any salt because all we had on the table was pepper so I could at least try to eat my thirty dollar meal. When I tasted my friend's food, it was just made up of canned tomatoes and dry, lukewarm beef. All of it was inedible. After spending the shortest amount of time at a restaurant not eating, and the longest time at a restaurant waiting for service. We decided to pay the bill, which we could apparently not do at our tables. So we walked instead to the counter and was greeted by someone that could only be the owner or manager. He asked us how our meals were and all I said was "it was alright." He looked at our bill and said "oh, the fettuccine Geraldo! That's one of my favourites, which one did you have?" I told him I had the Geraldo and he proceeded to ask me why it was bad, and I said it was tasteless. He looked a little bit flustered and said, in an extremely unapologetic manner, "well then, next time you come you can ask for me and I'll personally serve you a fettuccine Geraldo". I laughed in his face with my friend knowing full well I wouldn't come back.

He had the last laugh though, we got food poisoning afterwards.

Walked by Sicilian whilst in Parramatta and decided to try it out with a friend who's already been here. The day we came, the place was almost empty probably as it was daytime and they usually have lots of customers in the night. We both ordered pizzas and they were quite nice but nothing amazing. Prices were okay and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful 👍🏼

Wouldn't recommend this place. We ordered the arancini balls for entree, they weren't too bad. Then we had the BBQ carne pizza, the crust was nice and crispy but the topping wasn't good at all. We ordered 4 different pasta dishes and none of them tasted any good. The gnocchi especially did not live up to what was written on the menu. Service was slow and unfriendly. It cost $180 for the 4 of us so for around $45 a head we left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. Don't mind paying this kind of money if the food actually tastes good. Not being derogatory or anything but having Indian chefs working at a "authentic Italian" restaurant might explain why it was so bad.

Sicilian has been in Parramatta for years. Had lunch here on a Saturday and it was practically empty. We ordered an entree, pizza and pasta all to share. Their bruschetta and chicken geraldo were nice but the BBQ carne pizza was a let down.

My impression: I have been here many times. The location can get very loud when busy, so if you're on a date, it may not work in your favor.

The place looks nice and has plenty of seats. I tried some of their dishes and they are not bad. I found their pizza to be stingy when it came to toppings, it also took ages for them to make.

I like Italian food and I would come here again when I am in the area, but despite its name and reputation, I honestly don't feel there is anything special about the Sicilian. If you want the wow factor, you may not get it here.

Food was okay. Had to ask for the bill twice. Waitress told us we had to go up near the bar to pay. Waited 10 mins for someone to process our transaction. When the guy got there he was super rude and unapologetic. Will never come back here.

The crab and lobster ravioli was to die for, however the chicken pizza was bland and boring. If I didn't have a deal for this restaurant, I feel it would not have been good value for money at all. Staff were lovely and service was great, however I do note that this was because the restaurant was very quiet during lunch time. Nevertheless, will be back purely for the lobster ravioli.

Came here for when they had the Dimmi's special.

This place is huge! There is more tables round the back. The lighting was also very bright.

Not sure if they were understaffed but we had to wait a while for someone to notice us to take out order.

Ordered the bruschetta for entree and then pasta's for mains. Bruschetta was good and the pasta was ok.

By the time we finished out meals we had to wait to see the dessert menu, after 10 minutes i got up and went to grab a menu myself seeing as no one was in our section.

Ending up leaving and not having any desserts. Since it was a Dimmi's special it was a very cheap dinner. But i dont think i will be back.

Unfortunately I had a poor experience at this restaurant. The food is basic and overpriced, the atmosphere is outdated however the service is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I booked the restaurant at 50% off food as part of Dimmi's Flash sale I was 5min early so I sat down and ordered a glass or wine. My sister was delayed with traffic so she was running 15-20min late so I ordered her a glass of wine for when she arrived also. The food was basic but not bad. When we went to pay the gentleman told me that because she was late we were not entitled to the discount. He then went on to say that I never told him "I was Dimmi". Then then Cancelled my booking so I would not be able to do a review I had to call Dimmi to get it reinstated. I did end up getting the discount after I made it very clear this was poor service and he had failed to tell me that this before I had ordered.

Then he went on to say he is doing me a big favor and that it wont happen next time. He made the dining experience an upsetting experience and embarrassed me infront of other diners. You should never be made to feel like this when dining.

I'm seriously smashing this place ever since the Dimmi deal was released. I love it. The food here is consistent every time and the customer service is great. I highly recommend the rib eye. It is consistently always cooked to my liking and I love the red wine jus that comes with it.

This little Italian joint used to provide one of the best dishes in Parramatta, but now I don't know what had happen but the staff were rude and the food got served cold.Cold pasta in a cream sauce was not sexy, I decided to give it another chance and it was a bit better. This time around we came midday and it wasn't busy so we got our food faster but the pasta was warm, but the seafood platter was cold on most items.Maybe not a third visit next time .......

Parramatta has been undergoing a bit of a revival lately, with a lot of newcomers on the dining scene – but one of the older players is the Sicilian restaurant which has been around for the last decade on Church Street. The boy had been to the Sicilian a while back, but it has since been renovated and now features plush circular booth seats as part of its dark, contemporary decor.
Snapshots Of Food
Daniela from the Platinum Restaurant Group invited us to dine at one of their selection of restaurants. We happily accepted when we heard it was Sicilian at Parramatta! So it turns out, it wasn't JUST a meal, but more a feast! We started off with traditional arancini balls (fried risotto balls served with aioli and rocket), worked our way through Ravioli Di Zucca and Formaggio Di Capra (Pumpkin and Goat’s cheese Ravioli) and Prosciutto Woodfired Pizza and finished off with four types of dessert! Let's begin! Arancini balls The arancini balls were ever so crunchy, warm and delicious. It was filled with oozy cheese and the risotto was cooked well. Make sure you devour your arancini ball in the aoili sauce (because it's so aromatic, creamy and delicious). Prosciutto Woodfired Pizza Prosciutto, parma, napolitana sauce, mozzarella, rocket, shaved parmesan and balsamic reduction is what makes the Prosciutto Woodfired Pizza. The base was v

Today we’re seated in one of the booths and we get straight into the modern Italian dishes on offer, starting with the plump, juicy Seared Scallops which were served with a delicious parsnip puree, garlic and home made crumbed potato chips on top for extra crunch. There were also some intriguing (and unsurprisingly sour) caper berries scattered throughout the dish, with mustard-like seeds inside. Seared Scallops, $17.90 For a light antipasti to whet your appetite, there’s the Alla Romana mixed mushrooms which are sautéed with truffle oil, garlic and fresh parsley. The truffle oil is not particularly apparent, but it’s nice to have a blend of different mushrooms (including enoki mushrooms) to nibble on the slices of crusty white toast. Alla Romana (mixed mushrooms), $6.50 For mains, I couldn’t go past the Lobster & Crab Ravioli which did not disappoint. Each home made ravioli was huge and full of tasty minced lobster and crabmeat, enveloped between silky smooth sheets of pasta. The creamy shellfish butter sauce which coated the ravioli was rather indulgent, offset with soft onions and cherry tomatoes. This is a dish best shared as it can get a little too rich after a while. I was quite surprised at how reasonably priced this dish was considering the amount of seafood, as some restaurants in the city would be charging at least $10-$15 more. Lobster & Crab Ravioli, $28.90 We had spotted the woodfire pizza oven when we walked in, so we had to order one to try. We picked the Mimosa, which had wafer thin slivers of bresaola on top of a thin pizza base smeared with napolitana sauce and topped wi

Hit and miss. Some dishes were fantastic and others left a lot to be desired. The arancini and pork ribs were delicious. The zucchini flowers and pumpkin goats cheese ravioli were disappointing, one was super salty and the other quite bland. I liked the restaurant overall, taking into other factors like ambience and service

Sicilian reminds me of those restaurants in Chinatown, blazoned with dragons, lions and whatnot all claiming authentic ‘Chinese’ cuisine to reel tourists and rubes in. Beneath the veneer is a generic place without heart. They are the antithesis of Sicilian cooking, having about as much heritage as a Dolmio jar of pasta sauce. Tropicana, Mesicana and BBQ Carne have no place on a Sicilian pizza menu let alone an Italian one. The point here is that there is nothing really Sicilian about this place and I feel cheated. The sooner Sydney educates itself about Sicilian cuisine, the sooner places like this can be dead and buried.

It’s very ‘Italian’ in a sense that there were wine bottles on the walls, the seats were either wooden or leather and there was dim lighting; an overall authentic setting. Also they had a mini woodfire pizza kitchen that the customers could see! So I saw the pizza man roll the dough out like in the cartoons *nostalgic* hehe.

This pizza could of had great potential but instead it was really disappointing, the toppings were mediocre, base was overcooked, almost burnt as i could smell the charcoal and over took the flavor and taste of it. I’ve had pizza here before and it’s been fine, i think this was just an unlucky pizza..

Walking into Sicilian, there was one thing I noticed, and it was the large amount of seating available in the restaurant. Since I tend to eat out at small restaurants or cafes, the scenery was quite a different experience. There are beautiful features set around the restaurant and can apparently seat up to 350 people. We shuffled from table to table before finding the right one, which was right next to the outdoor courtyard feature with plants and statues.

The servings at Sicilian were ginormous! Perhaps it may be the aranchini balls that filled us up because DC and I struggled to finish off both the mains. So a heads up is that if you are planning to make a visit to Sicilian, do yourself a favour; skip the mains and go straight to the mains otherwise you may be rolling out of the restaurant like I did.

I should of went with my gut feeling that the pasta will turn out bad. Its edible but I swear i could make better at home. Serving is very big but I am disappointed.

Yesterday was my cousin Michael's 21st birthday, so on Saturday night we all got invited to celebrate his birthday at the Sicilian in Parramatta. The food kicked off with some pizzas to start.

Enjoyed the food, the service and the passing traffic. A pleasant evening, left with a smile.

Very poor. Poor service and meal was average

Whilst the pizza dough/bases are chewy, charred, gorgeous examples of the art, everything else is forgettable. Sickly gloop like sweet chilli sauce under abused zucchini flowers - yuk! Awful wine list, and very patchy inattentive service, when there were just 4 small tables. Do you yourself a favour: get a takeaway pizza, then have 3 courses of the best gelato in Australia across the road at Gelato Messina.

Worst Lunch experience. The restaurant looks huge as you walk in which makes you think that they must be good. THEY ARE NOT. We stood waiting to be seated for a good 10minutes and once we were seated, we had to wait a good 15minutes to have our orders taken (and that was only after I had to signal a waiter). THE BALSAMIC VINEGAR ON THE TABLE WAS COVERED IN A LAYER OF MOULD! The side plate on the table had crusty vegetables on it from not being washed well.

The veal tasted like it had just come out of the freezer - it was inedible. I had to share my boyfriends chicken and ended up leaving my meal virtually untouched.

When it comes time to pay, there's no signage telling you where to go and based off our previous experience with seating and the waiter we knew we weren't going to have someone come over with a bill for a long while. So we wandered around the restaurant until we found a waiter who pointed us to a booth tucked at the very inside of the restaurant that says "pay here". Completely dissatisfied! For the cost of the food, it is NOT worth it. I would expect more from a cheap takeaway. in fact, I'm sure the last Italian takeaway I had tasted like a 5 star restaurant compared to this dump.

Met with uninterested staff and we where sat on a dirty table. The vegetables seemed to have lost it's taste, menu is hard to read however the meat and spices where good.

The food was ok thought it would of been better. Not that much of a verity

I love food. Nice food but very, very expensive for what it is.we went as a family of 4 and the bill was $176. We have eaten at every restaurant in parramatta eat street and ordered similar foods and Sicilian is 30% more expensive than the rest (excluding fine dinning restaurants). It was busy so maybe I am wrong but I would not recommend it due to poor value for money.

Good quality food and large servings make this a place I'd want to go back to.

A family-friendly, filling Italian restaurant.
Their pasta and steak is divine. Unfortunately, the pizza is also authentic Italian, and thus, is more like flavoured flatbread, not your typical Aussie Dominoes uber-meat-fest. I, like always, chose the wrong thing...
However, I sampled some of my families meals, and they were B-E-A-utiful.
My one other complaint is that there are massive plasma televisions mounted everywhere. My little sister spent the entire evening watching 'Simpsons'. It is a family-friendly restaurant , just so long as you don't want to talk to your family! I might go by myself latter. Or maybe one day with a gf... yeah, as if.

I enjoyed the experiance, yet, bieng a little mean (and lonely), I give the restaurant a 6.7/10.

Absolutely terrible food and service plenty of other better places like criniti's!

I found the staff nice enough and the mace is great to book for a large group, but you're better off going somewhere else... I believe you can get better Italian food for less money. Would not return.

Huge venue! amazing food with marveolus desserts all throught a top service and really nice staff! Favourite restaurant in Parramatta!

Really Disappointing. Ordered three pizzas this evening and all I can say is wow. I haven't had pizza this bad in a while. For the price, I expected a lot better. In addition, I came in about a week ago for lunch. A lady at the entrance told me to sit where I like and she would bring a menu right over. After waiting about ten to fifteen minutes I walked out. I was hoping dinner tonight would change my mind about the place, but I can't say I'll ever be returning. There are far too many better places to spend my money in Parramatta.
Sunny_sonita
This is my boyfriends and I's favorite local - we're both big eaters and the Sicilians portion sizes suit us both perfectly. the restaurant size fits the food - nice and spacious, with that authentic (for someone who's never been to italy at least) italian feel. Absolute favorite entree is the lamb meatball, while my boyfriend loves the prawn and chicken fettucine pasta as a main. If you come in on a week night, chances are you'll see us!

Too bad food is not same as before. We used to have meals in previous years, nice pasta and marvelous pizzas. Unfortunately today we brought overseas guests for dinner and the food is so horrible, gnocchi is too sticky, pizza is not crusty. Spaghetti Bolognese is very salty, Mussels in Spaghetti Marinara is under cooked, both spaghetti are overcooked.
