Review The Coffee Emporium - Parramatta

Darryl Dias
Elegant eatery & bar with a very European feel. Nice ambience & atmosphere that whisks you away from the hustle & bustle of Parramatta. The food was pretty good, and the juices were excellent as well. Service was friendly, although food takes a while to come out. Pricing is a little too high for the serving size on offer.

Very beautiful and photogenic restaurant. I love the feeling of transference once you enter the place. The interference between light and shadow in front of the place makes me wanna spend the whole afternoon there. The coffee is good. The chicken burger satisfies your senses. The Apple crumble is good too. I definitely would like to revisit.

Stopped by for coffee with my 2-year old and ended up having brunch instead. The coffee was okay, the food was also quite good and filling for my Asian-sized stomach—however the real highlight of this place is its European-ish feel and ambience. It helps that the spacing between tables are wide enough for prams, so as a toddler-accompanied adult that is a definite plus.

The Emporium is a very stylish restaurant, just off the main 'eat street' of Parramatta. We came here for breakfast and we're very happy with the meals we chose. I had the kale and sauteed mushrooms, and my partner had the sausage and eggs Benedict. The meals were delicious and the coffee was excellent. The staff were professional and prompt in taking and delivering our order. The portion sizes are fairly small though, so if you're hungry you might need to order a few additional items. The presentation of the meals is great. They are definitely appealing to the eye. The prices are a bit higher than other places in area, but if you're looking for a nice atmosphere for a special occasion, then this is a good spot.

Very nice setup but the team in here needs a personality transplant. Hospitality stands for being hospitable one would assume... It makes perfect sense that the coffee is average and really nothing to rave about. I won’t be rushing back in a big hurry.

It was our first time dine-in experience in the cosy courtyard of this Restaurant located in Parramatta. Nice ambience, good service by lovely Ms Eda and her team and enjoyed the food especially the Barramundi with mashed potato and COFFEE is a must try! Definitely worth recommending to friends and colleagues!

From the moment we walked in for dinner my friend and I were made to feel so welcome. Food was amazing and wold recommend the Scollops and lamb. More importantly the staff here are so lovely and helpful in picking a good wine to match your food. Just love this place and definitely will be back soon

Ordered eggs Benedict, the eggs weren't runny as they should have been and no Salads. One bread with egg other with salmon no capers. I had better. Yougart was warm for the granola. Coffee was OK.

Absolutely beautiful service.<br/><br/>Thank you for taking care of your patrons during this tough time. The social distancing measures were put in place, the service staff were attentive, friendly and helpful, and the food could not be faulted.<br/><br/>We had the Angus steak and lamb rump mains. Both dishes were delicious- my lamb rump had dukkah and artichoke and was simple divine. <br/><br/>Shoestring fries are always a favourite of mine and most places don’t make them very well. This place makes shoestring fries well and I would buy them again. Maybe even go for the truffle option next time! <br/><br/>I look forward to dining here again.

Came here for a special birthday breakfast, and as we were the first customers there our coffee order was taken right away. Despite arriving just as the restaurant opened, and while the coffee machine was still warming up, the wait for the coffee was a bit long but worth the wait. We both ordered the Eggs Benedict, which arrived before the coffee, but it was absolutely scrumptious. The wilted spinach with mascarpone was so delicious that I would easily reorder this dish for that part alone!

Not impressed. Noisy, despite being 1/2 full. Food was overcooked and lacking of flavour or quantity. The steak my friend had looked like minute-steak and my bouillabaisse was rubbery and was a small serving.

Absolutely fantastic ambience. A bit of style in Parramatta who’d have thought! The sweet dishes are amazing and fresh. The chai is crap and they need to find a better supplier of decent chai. My friend had a coffee and it was fair. Not so much a coffee emporium but a pleasant restaurant.

Went for lunch. I don’t really understand why the ratings for this place is so high. The was was quite good and the service friendly. The aesthetics were beautiful. All in all the place was quite decent although still average. The assorted petit fours dessert however was disgusting, coming from a dessert lover.

You had one job: serve coffee. After all, that is the name of your store. FAIL. Went in at about 7:50am. One girl making all the coffee orders, one lady taking the till orders as well as serving them and one cook! For such a large establishment, it is so understaffed. We waited 15 mins just for coffee. No, there weren’t many orders but it looked like a lot because of the people standing around waiting. That should have been our hint. Got the wrong coffee too after all that 😢. Some didn’t even wait and took their money back. So we thought maybe that was just a fluke and they just had staff away. But no, the same 3 people again there today. Soon as I saw that, I just turned back and went to another place. Coffee was better elsewhere too.

Looks great from the outside but very disappointed in the service. Lots of staff (all very young with grotty un-ironed aprons)but I could not get anyone to take our order so I had to go in search. I thought a piece of cake would be nice with our coffees but none available. Waited forever to get our coffee and eventually I had to go in search again.....I won’t go back.

My friend and I ordered 2 toasted banana breads. Banana breads came with no cutlery or butter or serviettes. We took a bite and it was not toasted. I went back and asked nicely to get it toasted. We received it slightly toasted and they didn’t bother to even toast new banana breads for us they just retoasted the previous ones even though they were buttered. <br/>Our waitress didn’t get us menus for the first 10 mins had to get it myself and was very slow in service.

Best veggie brekkie bowl that i have tried so far. And it comes warm, not like the others i have tried that feels like everything in the bowl just came from the fridge. Hubby gave his porridge a 5 star rating! And their coffee is always the good one! Highly recommended and coming back for my veggie brekkie bowl again.

A rather large cafe/lounge situated in Church Street Parramatta, this Coffee Emporium has friendly service in spades and great coffee. Offers a variety of sweets and treats too.

I stumbled across this lovely place when they were hosting a wedding!!! However they were fortunately still serving off their regular menu (yay me). This dessert was chocolate tart with dulce de leche was delicious 😍 I’m a big sucker for dulce de leche and I loved it!! New favourite go to cafe in parra!

I came here for dinner with my husband and a friend. I first came here when it had just opened after the amazing renovations and was impressed with the decor and the food, however after two further visits that were very disappointing had decided not to return. As my friend requested we meet here I thought we'd give it another go as I held onto hope that it would be as good as the first meal I ate here. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. <br/><br/>Firstly, given how empty the restaurant was I was surprised they sat us at such a small table that was clearly designed for two people. This made it extremely difficult once the meals arrived to fit the small bites that we were sharing and our drinks on the table. The service which seems to get worse with each visit was no better. The staff all looked so unhappy to be at work, and when we asked to order more food the waiter just stood and looked at us as without bringing us a menu, so we had to use our memory to order more small bites. I fear this place will suffer due to the poor attitude of the staff. Management needs to review this as it's not normal to have wait staff appear so miserable, and I did wonder if there is a problem behind the scenes with the culture.<br/><br/>Although the small bites on the menu are quite tasty, I wouldn't recommend buying several and sharing like you would at a tapas restaurant as they really are too small for this and you will go home hungry. I had the carrot and olive cake for dessert and I would highly recommend this. They also had a delicious riesling on the wine list (Rieslingfreak numer 8) that I'm going to try and track down as I enjoyed it so much.<br/><br/>

Great fine dining restaurant in Parramatta. The place is quite spacious with elegant decor and romantic ambience throughout. The dinner menu is very limited unfortunately. During my first visit I ordered mushroom and truffle pasta. It’s top notch! <br/>Service was pretty quick even though I didn’t really appreciate being told to order more when I decided to share me meal with a friend. I think it’s my decision whether to share a meal or not.

Love this place!!! They have Garden Seats and Indoor seats. We chose indoor one because they have beautiful Christmas decorations!!! Yeay!!! I ordered their Char-grilled 250g Riverine Scotch Fillet and asked for Medium Well.. they did perfectly!!! The meat tastes sooo good!!! And all the sides completed each other!! Definitely will come back!!

Food- really nice. However a bit disappointed in the Mac and cheese. Expected it to be cheesier but it was just meh. I really enjoyed the ceviche and tartare dish. Menu is very limited but I liked how the menu is 'made for sharing' - perfect for girls dinner dates <br/><br/>honestly, this type of place is a one time only. I would go once but won't go back again since menu is limited. We practically tried everything on the menu 😂<br/><br/>This place is also a cute casual date night.

This cafe has a classical design, good food and atmosphere. We had a brunch there, good for group gathering. <br/><br/>😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Firstly the good: The Emporium is a nice, bright space with great ambience. The staff are young, enthusiastic and friendly. We went with two toddlers in tow, and the restaurant is very child-friendly and suitable generally for kids.<br/><br/>The bad: The food. The food needs serious improvement. The duck rillettes, while attractively presented on a board, was terribly bland. Rillettes of any kind need heavy seasoning and sometimes spicing, this one had almost none. The accompanying pickles of mushroom and zucchini strips, while looking cool, also seemed to lack balance and tasty mostly of vinegar without any sugar or salt.<br/><br/>The additional bread we ordered to supplement the annoyingly scant toast triangles provided with the thick slabs of rillettes came with accompanying butter. All good, except the butter was unsalted. Guys c'mon ... Rookie stuff here ... Unsalted butter is for cooking.<br/><br/>For the main I had the crab and zucchini pasta. This was a light, generously portioned and pleasant dish, dressed with abundant amounts of fresh spanner crab meat, and overall very good value for money. Sadly the dish was once more let down by a lack of seasoning. A few turns of the salt shaker corrected things but I started to get the feeling there may be a hypertensive chef in the kitchen. <br/><br/>My partner had the house burger. It was terrible. The patty was dry and overcooked and had shrunk down to a little over half the diameter of the bun enclosing it, leaving huge gaps of space and bread around the patty. The bacon was similarly dry and brittle due to overcooking. This was the most depressing burger I'd eaten for some time. I hate to make the comparison but McDonald's makes a better burger, and that is a pretty low bar.<br/><br/>So Emporium, your arrival is definitely a good thing for the neighbourhood but you really need to up your food game.
Marko
A very dissapointing dining experience. The entrees were great. I highly recommended the zucchini flowers. The cured meats plate was lacking in cured meats. At least the olives were good. The rest was just over priced and very plain. We were waiting for a long time for the mains to come out. Don't waste your money. Go elsewhere.
Docfood
Went to emporium with two other friends to check out their two course deals. We wanted to try a few options so we selected three entrees and three mains. My favourites would have to be the tartare, it was nice and flavourful and loved the cracker that accompanied it. In terms of the mains, I thought the pork adobo was good but Iv never had it before. The pasta was also quite nice. Overall the service was pleasant.
Parramatta Foodie
The service was not the best. We asked if the chips accompanying a burger could be switched to a salad and the waitress very rudely shut my dining partner down and said it was not possible. I had the salmon cake which was essentially the smallest piece of salmon surrounded by lettuce. The restaurant itself is beautiful but it doesn't make up for the food or bad service.
Tanya
Great for a ladies brunch! <br/>The ambience is so beautiful and girly. Tea selections are lovely. The lunch and dinner menu looks great but we were there for breakfast which doesn't have that many options. We really enjoyed the Emporium brekky, which is like a big breakfast. The Brioche French Toast with almonds was nice but not cooked well through. Would definitely revisit for the ambience and to give the other menus a go
Issac_eatsalot
Great lunch for one. The Burger was always gonna sway it, but it was a great cafe style burger. Well seasoned meat was the key. Loved the desserts too. Passionfruit mousse was my fave!
Live Love Laugh Eat
The Emporium had a really lovely vibe and ambience. The service we received from the waiter was exceptional.<br/><br/>We had the zucchini flower, ribs and spatchcock. The zucchini flowers were just delicious. Ribs were falling off the bone and absolutely tender. The spatchcock came out sizzling hot and was a nice and fresh dish.<br/>

We were fortunate to attend the launch of UNDER the PARRA SUN which commences 1st March – 26th March. “Under the Parra Sun is a month long festival that features a unique line-up of events that focus on bringing Parramatta’s love of food, wine, art and culture to life in alfresco atmosphere”.
The Next Rush
New renovations to the beloved Emporium have seen the sectioned off space opened up to alfresco dining of natural light and fresh air.  Cobble stones pave the ground with furnishings and gentle lighting in keeping to the indoor theme.  The  table configurations suit groups and couples showing the versatility of the space.<br/><br/>The March Special Menu for $45 includes 2 Courses & Wine! On the menu today:<br/><br/>Entree:<br/>WAGYU BEEF TARTARE: Picked enoki, marinated kelp, bottarga, shiso nori chips<br/><br/>DUCK RILETTES: Sourdough crostinis and house made pickles. The duck is shredded and cooked in its fats before being frozen and then baked after being moulded into triangles in the same way of pate. The texture is similar which can be spread on to the toasted bread yet the shreds of duck still intact but soft to the touch. Amazing effort goes in to this!<br/><br/>Mains:<br/>GREEN PEA RISOTTO is the Vegan Gluten Free option, flat platted, the rich emerald hue speckled with peas, chives and dill oil. Toasted hazelnuts and dollops of goat curd add that extra richness and glamour to the dish.<br/><br/>DUCK RAGOUT - Pappardelle flat ribbon pasta, shaved parmesan and chives mixed through with he slow cooked tenderness of duck based sauce.<br/><br/>The service is exceptional and to a different standard to many venues in the area, perhaps influenced by the strong base of clientele who frequent the venue from the Novotel Parramatta opposite. Having been lucky to visit the area many times over the last 12 months, diners truly are witnessing an evolution in the Western Sydney dining landscapes as more and more residential developments take place and a secondary corporate travel hub continues to thrive in this area. This venue among others is definitely leading the way here.<br/><br/>Thanks to Vincent, Chef Andy, Guiliano, Michele for such a memorable experience!
The RnB Diary
As we approached to the entrance of The Emporium, we felt being teleported to continental Europe – tables and chairs scattered around a courtyard with people supping coffee and enjoying the lazy Sunday afternoon sunshine; a scene that could easily have come from the streets of Florence or Seville.

The food was really good. The pork ribs just melted off the bone and the stuffed zucchini were delicious. The fries were a bit salty though and the service wasn't that attentive. But the atmosphere was good and I enjoyed the food 🤤
Frankiieshungrytummy
Great food and atmosphere. Good place to meet up with friends or family. Has quite an extensive menu but could do with more vegetarian options. All in all, a good experience and would go back again.
Spooning Australia
THE EMPORIUM is an impressive place. Perfect venue, perfect breakfast and sublime drinks. One day I will return to try the dinner and drink their bar dry. The place is not overpriced at all and while the lunch disappointed I think it was more our selection being inferior to the marvel that was the breakfast. If I lived in the Parramatta area I would be a regular at this venue.

Food was ok , nothing great considering the price. However, the location and ambience are definite bonuses. Great decor both on the inside and out of the cafe.

This place is beautiful! It serves Modern Australian food.<br/>I love the elegant decor and the service to match.<br/>Our waiter, Aaron was so friendly and helpful and lovely to talk to. He really knew his stuff, had knowledge of everything on the menu.<br/>We started off withe the Tempura zucchini flowers and a balsamic avocardo salad.<br/>The Tempura zucchini flowers stuffed with Ricotta, Parmesan and Feta was crispy and full of flavour, so tasty. The pickled zucchini and tomato broke up the deep friedness, it made it “zesty” (for lack of a better word, maybe acidy?) and refreshing.<br/>The salad!!! It was dressed! So full of flavour which you never get with salads when you eat out. <br/>It tasted exactly as my mother would make it! Not just a simple boring salad in a wog family. Needs to be drowned in vinegar!<br/>Mains we had the spiced chicken burger and the London broil steak in red wine jus.<br/>The chicken in the burger was so moist, soft and bursting in flavour, later which Aaron explained the technique used to cook it for hours to get the flavour all the way through.<br/>The steak was cooked to perfection and sauteed Brussel sprouts actually tasted great.<br/>Dessert was poached pear, caramelised chestnut puree, creme chantilly, wattle seed meringue and coffee sponge.<br/>I loved the meringue in it, the sweetness counteracted the sour of the pear and presentation was beautiful.<br/>One last thing to note was the coffee! I have not enjoyed Australian coffee since my return from Italy, my Piccolo latte was perfection.<br/>Such a relief and I didn’t even need to drown it in sugar to mask the taste of burnt coffee bean! So happy!<br/>Can’t wait to return to try the rest of the menu and cry of happiness from wonderful coffee!

An incredibly disappointing experience<br/><br/>I booked here for 6pm and told them when we booked that we were going to a performance at 7.30 and would to leave 7pm latest 7,10 I even asked if that was enough time. They said yes fine. <br/><br/>We ordered at 6.20 and I again reminded them that we needed to leave by 7 - 7.10. They said the steak would take 20 minutes. We said ok. When no food arrived at 6.40 I asked about it / yes yes they said it is coming . I asked st 6.50 and again said we needed to go to a show and again st 7. - then the waiter said ur us just about ready . <br/><br/>By 7.10 we had to leave and the food still hadn't arrived <br/><br/>What a totally ruined evening - 7 hungry people who are left incredulous by the incompetence of this restaurant - so upsetting and unprofessional <br/><br/>Really left us all feeling so unhappy with this place

Good lunch spot, one of the trendier establishments in the west. Ate the pumpkin Gnocchi, well cooked and complimented with labne. Perfect combo of flavours inc. sea greens, goat's curd and milk skin crisp.<br/><br/>Service on the slow side today but have been previously when it's top notch. <br/><br/>Good coffee as well

Aboslutely atrocious experience. The staff and managers are extremely rude and unwelcoming and never attended to our table to see if everything was okaye. Food is below-par in taste, small in servings and absurdly overpriced for what its worth. Save your money and consider other options.

Terribad. Went for breakfast. Affogato was an unpalatable slurry, the reuben a total rip-off. Company had the hot cakes which should have been named sweet cakes, with overpowering sweetness. To top them off, the service was really wanting. This seems to be a known issue to them, as they gave us a 30% discount with such ease it seemed routine.

I came here for breakfast, it's such a nice place, love the decor, the staff was ok, a few were nice but there was one that made me feel kinda uncomfortable, he seemed abit cocky. The food was ok, the truffled eggs was quite bland, the mushroom with the poached egg was good, but the poached egg was overlooked and it was pretty much a fully boiled egg, besides that, it was great.
Postcards From Peta
Crispy zuchinni flowers and Dutch baby carrots. A very grand restaurant with huge double doors to welcome you. Bar style dining. Would come back for the zuchinni flowers.
House In Tillford
The emporium has a fully indoor area and a pretty outdoor (but covered) outdoor area, we were seated inside but try and get a table outside as it has a nicer vibe. The cafe smelt delicious and the dishes around me were making me hungry! I love a good savoury breakfast but was craving something light and sweet so picked the ricotta pancake with berry compote and honeycomb butter and the deconstructed iced chocolate just because I was curious.Emporium allows for bookings for brunch (which runs until 3pm!) which I think all cafes should do. Today I drove to a cafe 30 minutes from home to be told the wait would be at least 45 minutes. Be and everyone behind me in the line to be in the line immediately went elsewhere- take bookings cafe so we don't have to gamble that we can be seated! Rant aside, having a booking meant we were seated straight away.
Anita
Had brunch with 2 friends. The atmosphere is beautiful and staff very attentive , maybe a little OTP at times. Food was standard - my sourdough was a little over toasted. I would definitely go back for a second go.

Went here for dinner, the decor was amazing, felt like a cute rusty French town house. Staff were very nice and food was yummy! Price was also pretty reasonable considering some other places I've visited.<br/><br/>I loved the fact that the dishes were designed for sharing, it created a cool atmosphere and social environment. <br/><br/>Dishes weren't too big aswell, which was actually a bonus, because it allowed us to try multiple things.<br/><br/>Will definitely be trying again, perhaps for breakfast next!
Hungry Vibes Only
We had a lovely time here! Service has improved a lot since our visit here late last year. Live music on Tuesday was also an added bonus.<br/><br/>For entrees, we went with the oysters. My favourite were the ones with nam jim dressing. A perfect combination of Thai flavours, along with very fresh oysters. Highly recommend over the vinegar dressing.<br/><br/>My partner's Sirloin steak was deliciously grilled (stole some, sorry not sorry). I ordered two smaller dishes for myself: cured king salmon and beef tarte. King salmon was balanced well with the lemon curd and fish roe, however I felt the beef tarte lost its integrity by being mixed with too many other crunchy ingredients that took away from the beef. But I don't know, my experience with raw beef dishes have been from Thai and Korean restaurants which have very different flavours!<br/><br/>Dessert was the apple sorbet with a billion other things on the plate (all delicious) and the chef's selection of petit four. I thought we'd get 4 since it says petit four but there was only 3 on the plate. That wasn't the only disappointment with this dish--I felt it lacked a lot. Definitely give it a go if you're not keen to stomach a big dessert though.<br/><br/>All in all, a nice meal in Parramatta. Nice decor and setting. They also have an outdoor area which I've never been offered a seat in...wonder if it's VIP or something. Maybe I'll dress up a bit next time.

If you are a group with any special needs. DO NOT BOOK HERE. They only do set banquet menus and do not give patrons any option not to have this. In this day and age it is disgraceful. They try to say it is because they cant get food out altogether and other excuses but a real kitchens have no issues with it and it says more about the place if they can serve an entire restaurant different meals but cant offer it to 1 table. <br/>Take your money and business elsewhere.<br/>Seems they make lots of excuses for a lot of thing
VVN
The restaurant is nicely fit out with a fancier feel. The poached eggs on kale, sauteed mushrooms, dukkah and hummus was very tasty and from the couple of times I have been to The Emporium the food has been consistently good. The service however has been consistently slow and understaffed.
MR
The food is always nice, but wish they got a little more adventurous. They loose a point because the staff are often a bit snooty. They also won't let you take leftover away citing "health reasons" but i am sure they just think its tacky. Its a pity to see leftover food go to waste.
MissPiggyEats
We recently visited The Emporium for breakfast and sat outside in the courtyard area which was really lovely...very summery. Brunch options were good, with some different dishes to other cafes (mushrooms with hommous and dukka for example). Service was attentive. Coffee was nothing to rave about but good enough. This restaurant is a great addition to the local area and I'll happily return...especially for brunch.

Place looks great, menu is exciting and food is yum... And the positive feedback stops there. The service is appalling. I rang in advance to make a booking, as I had a group of 5 people. Left a voice message - no one returned it. Tried again at a different time/day - no one picked up. We decided to go early and try our luck. <br/><br/>Upon arrival, we were asked how many we were and if we had a booking. I said that we didn't have a booking and were immediately treated with rudeness. The waitress messed up our drink orders. She failed to explain that sides would come separate from the dish (most places would place the side with the dish), so we were following up on our tiny sides of bacon & avocado. Like seriously?! At least serve them at the same time not 15 minutes apart. Given that, they also forgot to serve one of the sides we ordered & didn't realise. So if we didn't follow up, we would've paid for something we weren't served.<br/><br/>All in all, don't bother coming here for a meal. You will be treated like crap and will leave frustrated. Their "hand picked" waitresses are nice to look at, but don't have much going on up there. They even looked like they were struggling to match the dish with the person that ordered it. They seriously need to set a standard of customer service for their waitress.
Dadarahmadipirshahid
The food made my wife and I quite ill. The restaurant manager quite rudely refused to take responsibility so we have escalated the issue to the Food Authority and Parramatta council. When it's good, it's good, when it's bad, the Emporium treats you like trash.
Michael Refalo
This restaurant is certainly appealing from the outside..fitted out well with a menu as equally interesting! <br/><br/>A table for 5 saw a combination of the lamb belly entree, squid pasta & fish , pork hok & ribs. <br/><br/>To start off the food certainly wasn't bad, presented well with speedy service (Wednesday night) but there was nothing particularly outstanding or unique about the meals. <br/><br/>In a time when the average punter has more culinary understanding than ever before & given the competition within the bustling area I would have expected slightly more. <br/><br/>Not disappointed or excited.
Dajana Radic
What a fabulous atmosphere for drinks and or dinner. The waiters are very polite and friendly. Great cocktails! Will be back! Highly recommended
Excuse Me Waiter
In the centre of Sydney’s West, a spate of recent openings from Gelato Messina to Jamie’s Trattoria have been jostling for attention in Parramatta. Heading west, we met a friend for a casual lunch at one of these recent additions called The Emporium. As you step through the busy eatery, you cannot help but feel as though you are traipsing through a modern Mediterranean villa. It is bright, large and airy with beautiful finishes. We were seated in the outdoor garden area, which was fantastic on a sunny day.
Bridget Elbourne
Just no good at all. <br/>Service was slow, amateurish and downright irritating at times.<br/>The menu was unappealing and the dishes themselves just didn't taste good: overly complicated flavours, largely incomprehensible. <br/>Basic things like salt and pepper had to be requested! <br/>The margarita was decent though and the coffee excellent. <br/>
FMBGD
Food was ok. Service not great. <br/><br/>I ordered the French toast which was sooo good! I also got the iced coffee which was nicely presented however the waiter didn't explain the dish. We also got the churizo sour dough dish which was ok. Nothing special. <br/><br/>Wouldn't come back again. The place is nicely decorated but service was crap

We thought we would try this cute little place today having walked past it a few times... Boy, were we wrong. Firstly the online menu is outdated as was so "politely" explained by waitress number 1. Read: not polite at all. Secondly they must have been off with the fairies when we were making our order (remind me what is the job of a waitress again?) because they got two drinks and one dish wrong. (Is it really that hard?) And by the way I thought the first rule in customer service is: if you make a mistake, apologise and fix it. Therein we have waitress number 2. Apparently it was our fault she got our order wrong. Believe me I could have done a better job blindfolded. I will acknowledge that after a 20 minute wait for coffee waitress number 1 did try to apologise (even if the reason was that the docket fell behind the register...) but who serves coffee without sugar in any decent Australian cafe, and when asked for it, proceeds to slam the sugar on the table? It was getting quite amusing at this point. I couldn't help but notice the next table receive a piece of toast burnt black. Now I dare you to offer any sort of reasoning for that. Really. The persons toasting the bread, assembling the plate or serving the plate didn't notice? Shocking. If you're thinking nothing else can go wrong, try asking for the bill. And if you make the mistake for asking for it twice, you will enjoy the lovely death stare and almost comical snappy reply "I'm DOING it". Yes the waitress actually glared at my friend and said those words to her face. Remind me.. Who's the customer again? Oh right, we are there to be polite to ... You?? Lastly to top it off, we were charged for the WRONG Items that we apparently ordered. Attention to detail? Nada. I hate to imagine this restaurant on a busy day. Such a pity that such a beautiful place turned out to be a dismal excuse for an eatery. Will never come back and oh yeah... All of my Facebook friends have heard about it.

Had a girls xmas lunch here on a Sunday afternoon and the service was horrid. They not only added items we didn't request on our receipt but served us with ugly attitudes!!! Bad service, bad food, wrong items on the receipt. And such a big venue ! What a waste !
OliviaK
Unimpressed! Decided to go out with my gfs for a long overdue catch up. The restaurant had a private function outside that overtook the restaurant! It was so loud we couldn't hear eachother which made for a terrible experience for other restaurant guests! Service was slow even though the staff were around they literally had to be called over for service because they were not paying us any attention. My meal came out undercooked and then when returned had a charcoal taste even though it wasn't burnt. I barely touched it but yet the waiter didnt ask any questions when removing my dish to why I hadn't eaten my meal. I had to ask 3 times for a dessert menu to only gey 1 menu for 3 guests. Dessert was nice but not what we expected. Waited there for 15 minutes after finishing with no service before getting up myself to ask for the bill. Was sent to the register and paid without even being asked how our meals where. Would have loved to complain but wasn't given the chance. Staff seemed like they simply didn't care. I've never written a review before but felt the need after this experience. Totally un-enjoyed my evening and now at home munching on chips since I barely touched my main!
I Ate My Way Through
Nestled in the middle of Parramatta’s burgeoning food scene is The Emporium. Opening its doors earlier this year it introduced a new, and quality, dining experience for the locals.<br/><br/>Upon arrival I could tell straight away that this place is serious about not only it’s food but it’s wine and the dining experience as a whole. I had the pleasure of feasting on a well planned, and always evolving menu (as chef Rob Cannon describes it) in the Italian villa-inspired garden.

Went here the night before and thought I'd give it a try, it truly was a bad night,<br/>From the fresh shucked oysters to the mains.<br/>I was under the impression to try oysters this way but it ended up being the most salty sea watered way to do s.<br/>Entrées came out which were the Pan seared scallops and the lamb belly and yet again I had one of the saltiest dishes to ever eat at a restaurant But thankfully the plain scallops were balancing out the over salted lamb belly which gave myself and my girlfriend an appreciation for it.<br/>Mains finally came out after a bit of a wait which was the trout and sirloin. The trout was decent which surprised me since I had my mood being diminished from the terrible food already being served (I'm honestly that upset over the food I had to write my first review) But as for the steak, cooked a little under from medium rare but my girlfriend said it was okay but as 10 minutes passed she wasn't able to finish it because there happened to be another handful of salt added to the steaks outer layer which by as this point I was angered and put off from coming to this restaurant ever again.<br/>No way is it worth paying for what I did and is highly not recommended.<br/>Pros - good trout (on its own though)<br/> - fries might've be the highlight<br/>Con's - everything else

Decided to try this new place with a couple of friends.<br/>The menu looks impressive and so does the food. It's the type of place where the food is so pretty, you don't want to eat it and ruin it.<br/>Had to scallops to start off with and they were nice. Nothing special, just nice. Then we shared the crab pasta which for some reason tasted quite chalky. Afterwards we had the fried gnocchi which was nice of it weren't for the friend milk curd and the overpowering goats cheese.<br/>We then also had the squid ink pasta and it was very average. There didn't seem to be much flavour in the sauce so you could just taste the tangyness of the ink.<br/>However, the fish that came with it was amazing!!!<br/>We had ordered the polenta on the side but this was forgotten and didn't arrive until the end of the meal. It was nothing like any polenta I had tasted, in a good way, but was a bit too runny.<br/>They had an impressive wine list so we were happy in the end.<br/>I think generally the food is pretty but lacks in flavour for the price you end up paying.

lovely local restaurant and bar. i didnt know it even excited. i was walking past and the decor is so inviting so i ended up having breakfast which was very nice, coffee is also of a good quality. they have a coffee roaster inside and waiter said it will be up and running soon. it will be interesting to see how the place goes in few months time. will be back to check it out.

Fancy Ninja!!!<br/>Had desserts with Sweetandyummie and Amys_food_adventures it was delish! Technique and skills was presented on the dish along with flair.<br/>I came back the next day for brunch and i was amazed with the presentation and taste of these dishes, only negative that it was small but we ordered more to share as they advised .... Until next time ... Keep eating!!!! 😃

Love the weekend brunch there. Always choose the truffle egg and fresh coffee... For dinner my favourite is the slow cooked beef short rib with the many quality wines. Oh and the deserts all made on site are to die for (my favourite is the salted caramel)

The Emporium is a pretty place with high ceilings and nice and bright inside. Sadly, that doesn't make up for the small portions that are overpriced and average tasting.<br/><br/>We went for brunch on a Saturday. The baked eggs with spicy chorizo and cannellini beans was probably the most substantial thing on the brunch menu - but it was mainly beans and lacked any taste apart from the tomato sauce and not worth $16.50.<br/><br/>The king salmon with poached eggs had more flavour but hardly worth $17.50 for one slice of toast and a thin slice of salmon.<br/><br/>What is with places in Sydney charging for tap water now? When the waitress asked us if we wanted water when she took our order, we mistakenly 'assumed' it was complimentary but it was $6.50 for a 1L jug.<br/>We left disappointed and still hungry. Perhaps lunch and dinner are more worthwhile but I'm not in a rush to give this place a second chance.

I would recommend going here on a quiet night (in other words not Friday or Saturday night) so you don't have to wait a while for your food. The food was quite exceptional and tasty. The tuna tartare was my favourite, the right balance in flavours and fresh. Jerusalem artichoke was another favourite, loved the crunch.
The Lisa Marie Foodie Adventures
This was my favourite place to go in parramatta, I was so excited when it opened and just thought the heavens had answered my prayers. After a 2 month overseas trip, I came back to my 'favourite' place to enjoy a coffee and my favourite prosciutto dish. I had discovered that the serving had become smaller, we were served by a man who only gave us 1 menu to all share (there was 3 of us) the menu was confusing and poorly written and when the waiter explained it, he made it sound like we should have known. Very disappointed, especially since I was one of the first to review this place when it first opened.

Went to the Emporium last Wednesday for dinner and the food was very nice. Shared a number of dishes between a group of us, all dishes were enjoyed.

The enterprise is more than just a restaurant, but a coffee and dining experience – encompassing a bar, bakery and coffee roasting facility. Whether it’s a brunch on the weekend or dinner<br/><br/>on a cold Wednesday night, you will find very few vacant tables at this high-end eatery, as diners enjoy the rustic Italian atmosphere and fine food and coffee.<br/><br/>Whether dining inside or out, the atmosphere is nothing short of breathtaking – from the exotic indoor archways and marble tables with wrought iron detail, to the sprawling Ivy, vases of fresh Lilys and sparkling crystal glassware, the overall feeling is sophisticated yet homely.<br/><br/>The weekend Brunch Menu is generously extended from 8.30am to 3pm and includes delights such as toasted banana bread with whipped lemon ricotta, sautéed mushrooms with kale and za’atar on toasted sourdough, baked eggs with spicy chorizo, cannellini beans, slow roasted tomatoes and manchego cheese and the wickedly tempting brioche french<br/><br/>toast with banana, salted caramel, hazelnuts and chocolate.<br/><br/>Rob Cannon’s finely honed talents are best displayed in the Lunch and Dinner offerings, where you are assured of a gastronomic journey on any chosen meal. Each dish encompasses a fantastic combination of flavours and textures to delight the palate. From the Haloumi with grilled cucumber and pomegranate, to the scallops with cauliflower, walnuts and red wine currant puree, or the crispy pork belly with spinach, pickled cabbage and roasted apple sauce, every dish defies anticipation.<br/><br/>The pan fried potato gnocchi with green peas, snow peas, charred onion and ricotta would have to easily be the best I’ve ever tasted. The crunch of the peas and the zesty surprise of the tangy lemon ricotta presented like paper thin agnolotti, provide enticing accompaniments to the crisp and creamy gnocchi.<br/><br/>The slow cooked beef short ribs with maple glaze, watercress and chimichurri are an amazing taste sensation. The rich beef ribs pack a huge flavour hit all on their own, but paired with the freshness of the chimichurri, it transforms into a whole new meal.<br/><br/>Desserts are as pretty as they are sweet, creating an eagerness to partake even if you no longer have room. The coconut sago, mango sorbet, pineapple and passionfruit curd is a tropical feast for those who like fruit flavours, while the chocolate & hazelnut delice with salted caramel pecan ice cream satisfies the richer cocoa lovers.<br/><br/>Their wine list is extensive, and is accompanied well by the Bar Menu, which is available all day. Share plates of cured meats and cheese are encouraged, with the more you order, the greater the discount. You’ll also find freshly shucked Sydney Rock Oysters, shoestring fries with roasted rosemary sea salt and black garlic aioli, and duck liver parfait with fresh black fig and pickled walnut on grilled sourdough.<br/><br/>The Emporium CoffeeCoffee is taken as seriously as their wine list with the huge German Coffee Roaster supplying over 600 kilos of fresh roasted beans to local cafes every day.
Gus' Gastro Review
Friends and I had wished we ate here the night before, instead we unfortunately<br/>stumbled across somewhere else quite sub-standard. I decided to redeem my<br/>palate and came to The Emporium with work colleagues after a huge week of<br/>being smashed at work. We were keen for good food, good wine and good<br/>service. We entered a relaxed atmosphere via an impressive main entrance door,<br/>greeted by a friendly smile and seated in the outdoor area with plenty of<br/>heating and blankets on offer. Good service, tick.<br/><br/>After a little sarcasm from the waitress - dangerous ground for restaurant staff, we<br/>were offered drinks to start. Our waitress arrived, gave us the run down on how<br/>the kitchen worked and we opted for a steady stream of large entree<br/>plates. Sharing is caring people. This worked well, food was<br/>fantastic. The highlight for me was their signature dish, Tuna Tartare;<br/>balanced, perfectly seasoned with delicate flavours. The closest dish I've<br/>eaten to remind me of my Gordon Ramsay experience. However, the $24 three<br/>cheese crab pasta was a significant low light and let the team down. The<br/>artichoke, parfait, king salmon all highly recommended. Good food, tick.<br/><br/>Drinking throughout the night consisted of a lovely blended tipple from the Barossa<br/>Valley - The Massena and the 19 Crimes Shiraz from Victoria. Good wine,<br/>tick.Dine here, I'll go back one day but I live in Adelaide, so I just hope<br/>it's still there upon my return. If this experience was anything to go by,<br/>it'll be there for years to come.

Satisfactory. My friend and I came here for lunch purely because it looked pretty. If you're looking for a place that only offers good visuals and ridiculously proportioned food, COME HERE. We chose to sit in the outside courtyard however because of construction across the road it was ridiculously noisy. Moreover, the service took long and our food took long to come out. The food is also not cheap, in my opinion overpriced. We ordered the crispy pork and the portion size was tiny!! Not sure if I would come again.
Pop Culture Food
Oh, you fancy huh?<br/>The Emporium gives a vibe of an old school 1920-1940 diner/restaurant in the US, where it was all about class and fancy trmmings. You go inside and you're faced with an open bar/kitchen layout. Are you really in Parramatta, Aus and not a diner in New York City, US? Yup.<br/><br/>The food here is what you'd expect from the appearance of this restaurant- your good ol' favourites with gourmet/sophistication added to it. I had what we usually recognise as a bacon and egg roll, but this version had some cress and a really zingy, slightly spicy tomato salsa added to it- Yum!<br/><br/>I also happened to have brought my dog with me and to tell you the truth, they brought out her water bowl before my water! Great customer service guys (no sarcasm)!<br/><br/>Will be back to try their lunch/dinner offerings. Go to the US without having to leave Western Sydney! Go on, I know the curiosity is killing you :)<br/>

Parramatta is right in the middle of a food revolution, and an absolute dream for foodies like myself, and emporium is definitely holding its own.<br/><br/>I'll be honest, I had my reservations initially, when realising this was in association with 'Emporium Coffee'. In my experience, 'chains' don't generally deliver the same quality or love as independently owned restaurants (see: The Coffee Club). However, this is the exception.<br/><br/>A hefty $4 million was spent on the renovations, and it shows. You enter through possibly the largest door I've seen in my life, immediately providing an element of grandeur, before finding yourself at a stylishly designed bar, made out of hand carved marble. The outdoor garden is a horticulturist foodies dream. Beautiful vines and hanging plants provide a really fresh, yet sophisticated feel.<br/><br/>The service was quick and attentive; our waitress had a great understanding of the products on offer, which for me, is absolutely vital to my experience.<br/><br/>The food is almost that of fine dining, where the presentation is nearly as impressive as the taste; the only difference here, is that the prices are more 'casual dining'.<br/><br/>I had the crispy pork belly, with roasted apple sauce, spinach, pickled cabbage and cider jus. Whilst delicious, the meal was not exactly massive; lucky the sides are pretty tasty too. True a few out.

I'm giving this place a one solely because it's so pretty. <br/>Popped in with my sister for lunch. Were seated and looked at the menu.<br/>Ummmmm were pages missing? The section on the menu were vegetarian items. Then straight into a section called "something from the sea" including Morton bay bugs. <br/>The only meat option were a lamb croquet.<br/>I mean so unless your a vegetarian, or want Morton bay bugs, there is nothing else? What about salads or rolls, or something that we could have ordered and eaten? <br/>We literally got up and left to go eat actual food somewhere else...

So much potential, so little substance. First, we were advised that there was no rhyme nor reason to the order the food would be served. Almost an apology. When we asked if a side order could come with a specific meal,  the answer was 'no'. The first dish was lovely, but within 5 minutes the second dish arrived, and within a few minutes the third dish arrived. Upmarket fast food is how my husband described it. We weren't able to savour each dish, the whole lot was forced upon us. It wasn't a dining experience, it was an assault. The food itself was just okay. Nothing to write home about, and, at $40 for he cheapest bottle of wine, the place is too try hard and expensive for what you get. I would not recommend trying it out.

Double the deliciousness while lunching at The Emporium - Chowing down on the Calamari and Chorizo with rocket, sweet corn, purée and tomato 👌 <br/>It's a really nice way to have lunch and escape the fact that parramatta is full of 101 takeaway joints and it makes you feel like you're in Surry Hills...until you walk outside and realise that it isn't 😂

Smashed avo on toast with feta and bacon. Need I say more?? My fav dish to order... Did lack a little bit of something something but still pretty good. Overall worth a try

Went there for the first time. Had the pork belly, Chicken and Morton bay bugs, and shoe string fries. The ambience was great, the staff were friendly and attentive, the pricing and portion size needs a little work. Food 6, ambience 8, staff 9, value 3. I rated the food low due to the portion size, otherwise it was very nice.
A Food Fable
This is the hip version of The Coffee Emporium - great layout and decor. There's a huge space to sit inside and outside, and can suit large groups. Went here for weekend brunch, no waiting and we were seated straight away. The food is a good serving size and full of flavour - prices aren't bad. A very nice addition to the Parramatta scene.

No offence but two things, the downstairs cafe  we ordered two coffees  and it took the girl barista over 10 minutes  to make them,  she was at the machine, we were the first in line it wasnt busy.<br/><br/>Other thing I find irritating is the prices for the sweets arn't displayed, its like they make you feel obligated not to ask so you just buy it. I dont like that.<br/>can you imagine over working the barista if everyone came in and asked how much is this how much is that?? <br/><br/>put the prices on so people can make up their own mind

Located just off Church Street, this wonderful establishment is so palatial and grand you will firstly want to admire the massive front door! Rob Cannon is an amazing Chef and all his dishes are gorgeous and vibrant. The entire menu is fresh and seasonal and please please please order dessert! The Coconut Sago with mango sorbet, grilled pineapple and passionfruit curd is just superb. Rob is so friendly so say hello to him while your there.

This place is proof that great food isn't quarantined to the inner city. Another small plates place, this place really impressed me on two recent visits although not every dish was a hit. A warm halloumi salad and a torteloni with mushroom and labne were excellent, but a braised beef dish needed seasoning. But a great wine list, knowledgeable service and a warm atmosphere were memorable. Can't wait to see how this place evolves.
Amys_food_adventures
Have been here for pre-dinner and breakfast. Dinner we had the cheese tasting plate come with complimentary bread. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor dining area feels like your're in a nice garden courtyard. <br/>The breakfast menu is great, i had tried the scrambled eggs with truffle and a friend tried the baked eggs and she loved it. Staff are friendly and attentive. Overall, good atmosphere.

Exceeded all expectations. Oysters were fresh and succulent, pan-fried gnocchi and and the sardines had divine flavours and the polenta with Parmesan and an egg was to die for. Service was good, decor is stylish and the place was quite full for Sunday evening. The menu is diverse and appealing and it was hard to choose among so many tempting dishes. Highly recommended.

My husband and I had dinner here last night and had the best experience which defied both our expectations. Food was impeccable, ambience was spot on and the service was warm and friendly. The portion sizes were perfect and everything was beautifully seasoned and the flavours perfectly balanced. The nicest restaurant in parramatta by far. Cannot wait to come back.

cream. It had a nutty taste to it and was smooth and creamy, hitting the spot just right on with the deep rich coffee. . Ewe's milk yoghurt panna cotta, strawberry gel, pistachio foam. The panna cotta was plated incredibly with. that gorgeous wobble that you expect from the very best panna cottas.  It

When my friends & I first walked in, I thought, wow this is really nice for Parramatta, but it was a cold & rainy night and they were apparently "booked out" indoors so we had to be seated outside. The lady placed us outside where there wasn't any heaters near by, nor where there any walls/covers so we were literally left in the cold. However a super friendly waiter soon saw us notably freezing and immediately offered us blankets which won our points back.<br/><br/>Unlike many restaurants, their menu isn't really that extensive. The 3 of us decided upon 1 entree, 3 mains and 1 dessert to share.<br/><br/>We ordered some seared scallops for starters and they were simply divine! The sauce accompanying the scallops were so good, I had to refrain myself from licking the plates clean. <br/><br/>The we received our mains where we ordered gnocchi, chicken cooked 3 ways and slow cooked beef short ribs. The gnocchi was hands down my favorite main dish, it was soft inside and crispy on the outside. My friends really enjoyed the chicken cooked 3 ways as the chicken was cooked very well and stayed very moist in every way it was cooked. I felt the slow cooked ribs was a let down because I was really looking forward to eating that the most however it really lacked flavour which was a huge shame because the meat itself was cooked really well as it was very soft and tender with the meat falling off the bones but without a good sauce or season, it tasted just like bland meat.  <br/><br/>Luckily for us we ordered a dessert and that did not disappoint at all. It was their coconut sago and mango sorbet dessert. The sweet sticky sago accompanied by the cold refreshing sorbet was simply delicious! I wanted to get a second one if my stomach wasn't going to burst soon.<br/><br/>The bill ended up approximately $150+, so between the 3 of us was roughly $50+ per person, a little more towards the pricier end however I do think their food was quite worth it depending what you order. Presentation was really good for all their meals and I really did enjoy most of the dishes we ordered besides just one of the mains, so I do recommend friends and others to try this place out when they have the chance.

First visit to this restaurant okk, the ambiance was not too bad, but the food is cold too pricey, they run out with shoestring chips(which is on the menu) but gave us steak-chips., portion of food is like tapas that you cant even share it, and bland.never going back to this place! Totally not recommending this place

Pretty much the Coffee Emporium in a fancy fit out which you pay for in the overpriced menu. Average, watered-down coffee too.

Extremely pricey for very little. My husband and I thought we would try this new cafe out last weekend. When we called they said they were booked out until they asked how many people, we said 2 so they booked us in.<br/>The menu looked great with cool food items. My husband ordered the Gnocchi and i ordered the smoked bacon breakfast roll. The gnocchi was $30 was 5 small tiny pieces with a few peas. This was way overpriced for what you got. The bacon bun was ok. Then we ordered blueberry pancakes and for $12 we got 2 smallest thinnist pancakes w have ever seen.<br/>Over all extremely pricey for what you get. I wont be going back.

Love this place. All I can say is please go visit this beautiful new restaurant.. The quality of venue, service and food are Sydney City top grade standards but now in Western Sydney. The wine bar staff sure know how to please with their yummy cocktails. For everything else the cheese platter for entree is superb and slow cooked rib beef with wine made me very very happy. The coffee with their yummy mango and coconut desert was impressive indeed.. Anyway I'm glad I tried the Emporium and only hope they keep this up :-)

Not good enough. Looks nice from outside but different story once sitting to eat, service was terrible even though the place was not busy, asked for menu that never came and water that also never came , over priced for small sized servings plates of food that are all right but not amazing or unique , nothing special or worth trying again, many other places in Parramatta serve better food with better service and less $, not going again.

Amazing decor, beautiful atmosphere .it feels miles away from parramatta. they have an open kitchen, its fun watching the chef in action.<br/>service =outstanding<br/>Food= tasty and unique<br/>would like to try their breakfast menu one day

Awesome lunch hour experience. Arrive during lunch hour with 14 other colleugues and the experience was just amazing. Detail was put in every single dish. For $55 per head you will be getting plenty of food. Will definitely visit again with my family. ^^

Has Potential. Nice setting. Music too loud, to the point where it drowns out conversation. Food ok but not great considering the price. Our meals all delivered at different times, some had finished while others still waiting at a table for 10, and restaurant wasn't that busy given the number of staff. When mentioned to the restaurant manager it was dealt with 'politely' in an irritated sort of way - customer service obviously not a strong point. Could be a really nice place.

Yummy for my tummy. Mothers day lunch was to die for .Team members attentive and polite.Restaurant feels like home with all the greenery around. Do go and try and yes the portions are small though sooo worth it .Yummy for anyones tummy.

Disappointing!. Sorry guys but you claim to have spent so much money on this place and yet you have ignored the most critical factor, your menu, only 20 items on it and this is entree, main and dessert???? I even went back after eating elsewhere to get dessert only to be told you have run out!!!! You will have to lift your game to survive!! Will visit again soon to check out the complete menu and hopefully find something decent to eat. Stay tuned.

A gem in the West.... Beautiful brand new restaurant, wine bar and coffee roaster in the heart of Parramatta CBD. The cheese platters for entree with truffle chicken or slow cooked beef rib for a main are scrumptious. Oh forgot to mention the great selection of wines.. actually the reds please...Love this place and will be back :-)<br/>Thank you for coming out to Parramatta.. highly recommended..

Average. Great ambience, and service.<br/>Price point for food does not reflect quality or taste. <br/>A group of us went for lunch and had: <br/>Calamari - this was nice. Tender and corn purée was nice.<br/>Pork belly - average. The skin on the pork belly was too fatty and not crisp on top.<br/>Cured salmon - nothing special. <br/>Gnocchi - large pieces of gnocchi but texture wasn't right.<br/><br/>Also $10 smoothies are a bit of a stretch.<br/><br/>Wouldn't go back but glad we tried it
