Review Lao Der - Parramatta

Great Thai/ Laotian food! This place is a cut above the usual western style Thai food. The atmosphere is cosy and stylish at the same time. Very nice ambiance. As for the food, they have all of the regular favourites like Pad Thai, Pad See Ew and hot and sour soup. They also have some slightly more traditional dishes, especially those with seafood. The fish is great; it's soft and moist and falls apart in your mouth. The dish that I ordered had a lovely zesty sauce. You can't split bills here and they have a surcharge on Sunday and on public holidays. I don't really mind though. The food is good, and service is really polite and attentive. The service is quick too.

A decent atmosphere but amazingly beautiful food with accommodating great customer service. The pad thai is just delicious and the coconut rice is just a divine. You need to try it at least once. It can easily be a dessert on its own right.

Service was fast and polite however the food just let's it down. The pork belly was cremated and papaya salad dressing and spring roll dipping sauce was sickly sweet. If you're in the area give this one a miss.

Really good service. The manager made a mocktail that was not on their menu, really tasty one too. Their seafood soup is the best I have ever had from a Thai restaurant. Definitely will go back for more tasty food.

I love this place! The staff are great, the food is amazing and the prices are totally reasonable. We've been several times, and every time we leave stuffed and satisfied. This time we had a bunch of entrees first. I liked the stuffed chicken wings, and they were also able to do the deep fried wings gluten free which was amazing as I can't usually have fried chicken. I really liked the dried beef strips also with some sort of tasty sauce. Chicken satay skewers were too spicy for the kids, but the adults loved them. For mains the chili basil was awesome done with minced chicken, and then for some red meat we had the ginger stir fry with beef, both so fantastic! Love this place! I'll be back.

Authentic laos/Northern Thai Food Great taste and wonderful service. Salad amazing, the soup so fresh n tasty, .. One thing i love a lot is they don't use sugar like most thai shop... Most thai shop put too much sugar in everything

Dropped in at lunchtime and tried a lunch special. Food was tasty and not too sugary (like some other places can be). Serving size was good with plenty of ingredients. Service was excellent. Will be back with the rest of the family to try the dinner menu.

Had a late lunch here. Wasn’t very busy as it was about 4pm. I ordered the papaya salad 🥗 with crispy pork 🐷 belly which was divine! Wish the pork belly bits were bigger though. My friend ordered the chilli 🌶 basil rice 🍚 and she said it was delicious 😊 cute little place. Would definitely revisit next time I’m in Parramatta.

Ordered takeaway from this place for lunch and it was pretty good.
The wait wasn't too bad and the service was good.
Pad Thai had a bit too much sauce but the flavour was really good.
Good place to have a bite to eat if you're in a rush.

Come here every now and now again after work. Good flavour throughout. Chicken wings are a great entree and $6 singha on tap is fantastic value

If you're craving some Thai food and work around the Parramatta area, this is a great place to spend your lunch hour. The restaurant itself is simple and elegant - I can't get over the orange walls; so creamy yet so bright! I also loved the decor they used. It totally matched the Autumn season colours.

I had the Fresh Rice Vegetable Spring Rolls and it had a great dipping sauce that came with it. It had a zesty feel when it came to taste and it's full of flavour. The veggies they used in the dish made the perfect combo - great starter before our main meals.

For the main course, I had their Vegetarian Pad See Ew and ordered tofu as an add on. The veggies were nice and crispy and the tofu had a wonderful toasty feel to it. However, I was slightly disappointed that there were more veggies than noodles. But I did enjoy my meal! The coconut juice I ordered on the side was also a treat too.

They cook the food really fast here so you won't have to wait long. The staff are also super friendly. They also have lunch specials under $15 and you can order drinks ranging from the price of $2-$4. It's the perfect place if you want a quick Thai food fix.

Popped in with the family on a Friday night and we were pleasantly suprised. The Food is more Lao than Thai and all the better for it. If, like me, you are getting a bit over same-old, same-old Thai, than try this place. Even if you are not, than give it a go anyway.

The food is good, the decor is modern, it is clean and the staff id very friendly. All at a reasonable price.

Went here for an afternoon snack/predinner treat. Was unexpectedly surprised by the amazing service and food. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive with superb customer service.

In terms of the food, we only had a small sample of this menu, but what we had was excellent and authentic. We ordered the Thai basil pork, Lao pork sausages (a must order) and coconut rice. The Lao pork sausage was phenomenal with the basil pork being flavourful and spicy.

We enjoyed the whole experience and would definitely come back and order the sausage again.
