Review Mikazuki - Parramatta

Zeiyad Jaajaa
Busy Japanese restaurant in the Uni district of Parramatta. Scan the QR and be prepared to wait 30 minutes during the lunch sessions. Now the food was good. Ramin broth was good. Noodles had a good chew and bounce to them. But on the thinner side. Chashu pork was a bit disappointing, overly fatty and lacking a bit of flavour from its marinade. But overall good. The Sushi was delicious. Tuna melts in your mouth and the Salmon was delicious and meaty in texture. Despite a mix up with our table order early on. Service was overall great considering how busy they get. Happy to give them another go and see if the minor issues experienced are resolved, and get a full 5 star experience.

Went here for lunch, the food was really good! Service was fast and everything tasted fresh. The volcano roll was super yummy and the chicken in the katsu don was good quality (hardly any fat or weird bits). Would highly recommend the food here!! I also liked how the menu was laid out and loved how everything had photos šŸ˜

Very busy Japanese restaurant behind the University. Huge selection on the menu and most of the dishes I have tried taste authentic, fresh and delicious. There is usually a line waiting on weekends. But the staff are quite attentive and responsive on most occasions. Downside is they donā€™t have a toilet and they share the key with access to the University.

Easily one of the best Japanese restaurants, as evident through the long queue (before opening hours even; the wait is worth it)! Always love dining here. Great value for delicious wholesome food in a cosy dining space. Their selection of side dishes, main dishes, sashimi and sushi is huge and offers pretty much everything youā€™d want. I would recommend their seaweed garlic butter wagyu beef don if youā€™re after a rice dish. As for the ramen, you should get their signature or the black garlic ones.

A hidden gem of a restaurant tucked away behind Parramatta station. Massive menu that blew my mind. Impressive and attentive service. The food quality was beyond my wildest dreams. I was in raptures! Best Japanese food ever. Can't wait to try more dishes!

Delicious Japanese food! Big portions and everything tasted good. Thry have a good waiting system as well- will send a text when your table is ready which is great as this place is always so busy

Came here for dinner one night. It was pretty busy and Iā€™d definitely recommend making a booking if you want to come here on Fri-Sun nights. Otherwise, you have to register on an iPad at the door. The wait is probably about 20 minutes! The interior of the restaurant was nice and relaxed, but also relatively classy at the same time. The dishes were well presented and also beautifully made! Perfect amount of sauce on the sushi, aburi and nigiri, and a good balance of flavours in the takoyaki. The fish tacos were also really nice- unique, with a slight kick of spice. Overall, it was a very good experience. Iā€™d definitely recommend coming here for the food and the service. One improvement that could be made is for them to have bathrooms within the restaurant (to go to the bathroom, you needed to get the key from the staff and then go down to the bathrooms outside the restaurant).

Absolutely Delicious... one of the best Japanese food in the Sydney, word of warning there is usually a long line but its worth it and definitely try salmon tacos. Amazing

Good value for money. We order alot of food for 2 and it cost us $180 including drinks. Expect long waiting during dinner time
What a great find in Parramatta! Everything was fresh & tasted so good. Definitely coming back.

I love the vegetarian ramen. Great options for vegan/vegetarian folks.

My go to local Japanese restaurant! Order the sashimi platter and spicy sashimi tacos! My faves! Definitely a restaurant i recommend to all my friends when they're craving Jap!

Mikazuki is one of my favourite local Japanese joints! Thereā€™s everything from fresh sashimi, sushi, ramen, grilled foods & snacks. We always get the deluxe sashimi platter as itā€™s great value and their salmon tacos are a specialty! The staff are quick but a little scattered. This might be because of how busy they constantly are! Thereā€™s always a line that stretches down the side of the restaurant and if youā€™re at the end, expect a 40-60 minute wait! They donā€™t take bookings so itā€™s one of the struggles Iā€™ve found about this place. Overall, the food is a great price, great quality & high value. We often get a bowl of ramen, the volcano sushi roll, a sashimi platter & the tacos. I have been here quite a few times now & would always highly recommend šŸ˜Š.

šŸ£šŸŒ®

Came by on a Wednesday night around 7:30pm, had to wait about 10 minutes for a seat.

Spicy sashimi taco - 10/10 an absolute must get!! Taco really compliments the sashimi well and was to die for. Would definitely come back just for this
Takoyaki - 10/10 super fresh takoyaki with heaps of bonito flakes. Great price too I know a few other places that charge more for takoyaki
Rainbow roll - 9/10 super pretty roll for the gram, the fish were super fresh and lovely cute.
Aburi salmon roll - 8/10 loved the topping on this roll & was standard for a grilled salmon roll but Iā€™ve had better
Volcano roll - 10/10 loved the scallops they were so succulent and thick, loved the sauce and all just wish there were a few more scallops šŸ˜©šŸ˜

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Quick to serve, plenty of staff available for help.

Really recommend this place! Prices are reasonable and not too expensive. Would love to come back to try the sashimi platter one day šŸ’–

Decided to try this place out to satisfy my Japanese cravings. Ordered the signature Mikazuki ramen with Karaage on the side. Staff was very friendly and can understand why this place was packed.

The karaage chicken came out and they were fairly fresh. The breading was quite nice and flavoursome and was juicy on the inside and I could tell it was marinated pretty well.

Onto the ramen, presentation was very nice. The tonkotsu broth was umami with the black garlic but thin and it wouldā€™ve been nice if it was slightly thicker but thatā€™s just my personal preference. The noodles absorbed the soup very well and it was just umami flavour every time I scooped noodles which remained consistent throughout. The chashu was cold and didnā€™t contain much flavour in it which was a bit of a letdown so I had to smear them with the chilli bomb and black garlic and the soup to give it some flavour and life. But other than that the ramen was delicious and for its price, the chashu couldā€™ve fared better.

Overall, a decently good experience and I would be back to try other dishes if I ever came back to Parramatta again!

I go uni right next door and for lunch I like getting my sashimi taco fix & theyā€™re honestly the best sashimi tacos I have ever eaten and super affordable.
10/10

Ordered the:
Tonkotsu Chashu Shoyu Ramen
Seaweed Garlic Butter Wagyu Beef Don
Eel Don
Ten Don
Karaage Chicken Don
Miso Poke Bowl
Rainbow Roll

The ramen here is pretty meh, lacking flavour that traditional ramen joints would have. The rainbow roll was quite the disappointment and Iā€™d recommend against ordering it. The dons, however; are very feeling and quite big. Theyā€™re quite stacked in their toppings. The highly recommended Butter Wagyu Beef Don was very rich and heavy if you mixed in all the butter, but nonetheless it was very creamy (the sensational feeling that is splitting the onsen egg) and tasty. The Kaarage in the Don was average but with the sauce and the rice, it was very ful. The tempura in

The lack of good Japanese food near home compelled us to travel to parramatta on a stinking hot day. They definitely hit the point with comfort rice food. The creamy mushroom on rice was the bomb! Rainbow row is quite tasty with a mix of fish and prawns and avocado on top. Crab stick rubs along the inside. Xihuahua šŸ¶ did not enjoy her tantan noodle. The broth was too acidic. The noodle itself its good. Plenty of minced meat on top. Flavored egg on the noodle was perfect! Not too pricey as well.

the sushi is perfectly made. they are fresh. if the waitress didnt take my fire ball plate right after i bite the last one, then i will give 5 star. the thing is, i love the sauce, but they are too hurry in taking my plate. well, still a good restaurant to visit. will definitely come back.

Really enjoyed the Seaweed Garlic Butter Wagyu Beef Don. Staff were very patient and service was exceptional. Clean and modern restaurant with a good selection of food. Place is small but comfortably spaced.

Everytime we come the food is always delicious! Can always trust mikazuki to have good ramen, sushi, karaage, takoyaki, garlic butter beef/chicken. Would always recommend!

This Japanese restaurant is what Parramatta needed. The range of Ramen here are amazing. We have dined here a couple of times and each time we try a new Ramen it doesn't disappoint. Though finding parking could be annoying around the restaurant, you can park in the Westfields (10 min walk)Ā or catch a train to Parramatta (3 minute walk). I highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to try quality Ramen in Western Sydney as this is definitely at the top of our list.

3.5 āļø
Spicy sashimi tacos and aburi sushi were amazing - great quality. Ordered the no 1 signature ramen and no 1 garlic beef don (rice bowl). I expected a lot from both because of its ratings and reviews but I didnā€™t find them particularly special. I enjoyed the ramenā€™s noodles and the thin broth (I donā€™t enjoy thick broths) and there were a lot of toppings. The garlic beef donā€™s rice was the best rice Iā€™ve ever had - super soft. It was just a little bit too saucy for me but it had a nice flavour. I expected the beef to be more tender. Vegetable tempura was better than the prawn tempura. Overall, good experience and Iā€™d be keen to come back and try more dishes! If youā€™re a UWS student, you can snag a discount too!

Great food and value. Service was quick with good portions. The interior was clean and cosy. Would definitely return to try out other items on the menu!

Tried out the garlic chicken Don and was fairly pleased! You could really taste the garlic and they gave a good amount of sides so that you didn't end up with a ton of rice at the end.

My local go-to for Japanese food! Ramen is always delicious, the broth is incredible. We usually get the Dragon Roll and struggle to finish it with our ramen/udon due to the large serving sizes. Staff were super polite, ample seating for everyone. It does get quite busy around lunch and dinner, especially with Western Sydney students.
Meowktail
Good donburi's - decent portion size for the price & nice modern ambience. Did not try the ramen thus unable to judge restaurant on the basis of the menu overall. Garlic butter rice bowl was tasty
Melb_Belly
Fast friendly service.

Ramen was flavoursome and noodles were perfect in texture. The cha shu was a tad dry but still tasted delicious.

Sashimi was fresh and cut in nice thick pieces.

Portion size is perfect amount.

Would come back again.

Edit: Came back Aug 18 and got the deluxe sashimi platter. Was just as fresh as last time.
Stephanie Daraphet
Quality here at Mikazuki was spectacular - and the food came out really quick and service was amazing. I recommend the sashimi tacos - they were the best! Staff was super polite and very genuine. Iā€™ll definitely come back here.
Sushiprince69
So far I have only ordered a Sushi platter (extremely delicious) and Tempura Prawn Udon (also extremely delicious). Those are my go-to meals. It's great having an excellent Japanese restaurant in my local area of Parramatta. I hope they stay around for a long time. When I pass by on the bus most afternoons at lunch, they are always packed! Prices are fair.
The Happy Tummy
Finally, a place in Parramatta to have a good bowl of ramen. I really enjoyed how packed their signature ramen is. The chashu truly melted in my mouth! I would go back to try their tantanmen ramen. The pork katsu curry is just meh.
Ervin Badiong Doroy
Very good Ramen, broth is tasty and rich. Tonkotsu was mouth melting. Noodles was so perfect.
It was Rank#3 for me of all the Ramen house that ive been with.
And highly reccomended to try.
Jasmine
Good place for Japanese food. We like the deep fried tentacles although can be oily sometimes. Curry and ramen were average, would not vome back for that. Sushi rolls were delish, the toppings made it more enjoyable. Rice bowl was ok, although a little sweet for my taste.
Shirley
The food is great, although alike to other Japanese restaurants Iā€™ve been too. The staff are very friendly and the service is prompt. The volcano noodles are surprisingly hot for a chilli lover but the Hokkaido with mushroom and rice was AMAZING. The famous wagu garlic seaweed don is a decent sized serving but only around an 7/10. The kingfish turado was very tasty with the perfect balance in flavor.
Aileen Min Wu
THe sashimi is fresh. Waygu don and signature ramen are tasty. The signature ramen soup is a bit too strong but not bad. The matcha lover dessert is really perfect and the mochi nice! however the eel don is only in supermarket level and way too expensive.

After coming back from Japan, i've been on a bit of Japanese cuisine detox. In my mind, nothing can live up to having the dish from its place of origin. However, all the food here is fantastic. Pictured below: Tantan ramen ($16), seaweed garlic butter beef don ($16.50) and eggplant tempura ($8.50). The ramen was soo filling and has a really nice spicy kick to it, i would say just as good as the ramen in Japan and pretty affordable. The don bowl had a garlic miso butter that was divine. It had a life of its own and complemented the meaty-ness of the dish well, eggplant tempura was also yum. Really everything on the menu is a standout!
Layal Hamze
They have the best sushi. Very clean restaurant. No waiting in line. Staff is very friendly and they are always smiling. Highly recommend this place.

Delicious food at a reasonable cost. Tried the Tori shoyu ramen, tempura eggplant, and aburi salmon roll. I was surprised by the eggplant because I haven't seen this tempura option at other restaurants - good stuff! Portions were generous and service was reasonably fast, the venue is very busy and noisy so don't expect much friendliness from staff. Also, make sure you book or arrive before the busy dinner hours. Overall, I wasn't in awe but food is good enough for me to come back or recommend to friends.
GastronomicGoddess
Iā€™ve been coming here since they opened. I will probably not stop because their ramen is great! Also their sushi is super fresh and delicious. My faves are their Wagyu beef donburi (try the seaweed garlic butter) and also the wasabi yuzu shrimp! The ramen is great and really customisable - I donā€™t eat pork, so theyā€™re happy to swap the Chashu for karaage. The roasted garlic add on is phenomenal. Great service, with little to no waiting times. Itā€™s very cheap too - if youā€™re a student or staff member at Western Sydney University and show your ID, youā€™ll get a 10% discount on your meal!

Friendly staff and good service. Decided to have some sushi on a cold Saturday night. The aburi salmon sushi and the Mikazuki fireball and green tea mochi 5/5 were the best. We also ordered the aburi salmon roll, takoyaki balls, mikazuki signature ramen, cooked tuna and avocado roll and the dragon roll.

10/10 - amazing flavours, friendly and efficient staff along with fair pricing. Perfect spot for a quick bite or a night out! Will be back very soon!

I came here to try the chicken broth karaage ramen and it was lovely especially during cold weather. The broth I felt could've been abit more salty or flavourful but I must say the definitely highlight was the Lava Roll! It was amazing, especially with the spicy sauce. I definitely would love to come back and try out just the sushi range. There is alot of options on the menu from ramen, don to sushi! Although we had to wait about 15mins to be seated, service was good and the food was splendid!

Cravings for ramen brought me to this place. Did not disappoint. I've been here a couple of times to see whether my cravings make me convinced that the food here is good, or if it's truly good. Each time I come, it has been a wonderful dining experience.
My favourite would be the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. It has a very flavourful broth that you just can't get enough of. My runners up would be the Tonkotsu Shoyu and Tonkotsu Miso. Must try: Takoyaki, Chicken karaage, and the Aburi salmon roll.
Alice
This place already has so many positive reviews so there really isnā€™t much to say but great choice for a casual lunch. Itā€™s only a short walk from westfields with quite a lot of seating.

Me and my mates craving japanese food ended up here on a sunday eve around 6pm and to our surprise it was packed, that itself defines its popularity. After about 10 mins of wait we got a table. We tried the katsu udon, Donbari katsu, mixed fried tempuras and samon avocado sushi roll.Donburi and sushi roll were excellent and portion sizes were adequate. Udon was just ok. Probably the choice of fried chicken in soup was not a good option to try with udon.
Will definitely return for Round 2 soon. Highly recommend
Sunny
This is the second time weā€™ve been there. Poke bowl remains our favourite. However, salad leaves are not fresh and sashimi other than salmon are quite average. Probably wonā€™t go again for a while.
Hungry Foodies
Have been to Mikazuki many times and have always tried different things.
They have a large array of dishes including sushi & sashimi, ramen, udon, curries, rice bowls etc so you will definitely find your favourites.

I would highly recommend the sushi, it's always beautifully presented, fresh and large variety.
Udon is also quite nice, more on the sweeter side.
Curry isn't the best out there but their katsu was well done. Ramen isn't the best with the most in-depth ramen flavour but a good effort.
Would come back just for the sushi, sashimi and udon!
Kristen K
We ventured out to parramatta to try this Japanese restaurant and how amazingly surprised were we! Definitely one of the best Iā€™ve ever been to. Staff were polite and friendly and service was very quick despite the line out the door. We had the kingfish and oysters to begin with followed by the dragon roll and fresh tuna and chicken katsu sushi rolls. The sushi rolls were so fresh and tasty! However, we were a bit let down by the kingfish and oysters.
That definitely wonā€™t stop us coming back here to try so much more from their menu!
RWfoodie
AMAZING japanese cuisine served here in this restaurant located a short 5 minute walk from Parramatta station. The sashimi and noodles here are to die for! Personal favourites are any of the udons, dragon roll or the teriyaki chicken don!
Elaina
Loveee this restaurant!!! Come here very often for their ramen, sashimi and rice bowls !! Their wagyu beef is so flavorful btw,, so good. Authentic japanese food at a reasonable price, big portions you can barely finish and good service !! Love this place 10/10 would recommend

This is one of the best places for Japanese food in Parramatta CBD. The seaweed garlic butter chicken don was the best!!! They also make decent ramen. The tantanmen and tonkotsu chasu shoyu were also great. They are usually very busy during lunch on weekdays. There is a special 10% discount for UWS students.

We wanted to eat at a good Japanese restaurant and the concierge recommend this place. Good food, fast and friendly staff and was accommodating. We will come back here again.
The staff were outstanding with superb customer service. The food was absolutely wonderful. My family and I will definitely be back. Thanks for a great dining experience.

Their signature ramen has a good balance of taste between savoury and chilli.
The cooking and preparation was fast and smooth and the waiters were genuinely friendly

One of the best, if not the best Japanese restaurants out west! Ramen ordered were top notch and the sushi we had were faultless. Definitely be a place to dine at regularly
Naomi Wu
Friendly service, food is alright, I had their volcano ramen and I have tasted better ramen. But I am going to give this place a couple more goes because their menu is vast and I am excited to find food that I like.
Honestly Tho
The service was so polite and friendly while the food was delicious. The sashimi was fresh and nicely presented. The sushi rolls were fantastic, particularly the aburi salmon roll. The ramen here is also very good. I recommend the black garlic tonkotsu shoyu.
Alice
Location, staff and atmosphere are fine. I had the vegetarian ramen which had barely any flavour so I wasn't a fan. Won't be coming back for that. my friends enjoyed the sushi and sashimi and other ramen combinations though.
Josie
such good food for such a good price. staff is friendly and the menu is quite broad and has an experimental twist on ur average Japanese cuisine.

I personally have a spot soft for this place as I went here alot during exam period and nothing felt better than having a bowl of their ramen to end my day
Susan
Good service and amazing food! The servings are fulfilling and this place is busy even on a Tuesday night. I will definitely be back to try more.
The pork don was delicious, each element complemented each other well.
The tan tan men ramen was also amazing ! With a little spice, the noodles were perfect and so was the broth.

Been here multiple times with my partner and Mikazuki never loses its value. Mikazuki offers a generous variety of sushi and sashimis which cultivate the fresh taste of fish. Their consistency with main dishes such as ramen/udon or rice is both rich in flavor and unique to each. My most recommended dishes to anyone is the Abury salmon which comes in either a roll or sushi as to preference. All staff I have encountered are friendly and display excellent mannerism. I highly regard Mikazuki in delivering a taste of contemporary Japan into the bustling heart of Parramatta.
Nadia
They arrogant! I've contacted them about the farewell lunch booking week before and they've said it's too many people for Friday (15) even though they didn't have any tables booked yet. They promised to get back to me same day to confirm if it's booked. Nobody did anything. Then later I came to talk to them about the booking and their manager refused to give us a table. They also have a huge surcharge on credit card payments.

There arenā€™t many good Japanese restaurants in Western Sydney, so it was a delight and surprise when we came into Mikazuki. The ramen and udon noodles were yum and ramen broth full of flavour. The sushi was fresh and quite a old variety.
I was pleasantly surprised and was quite happy with the food and value. Will definitely go again

I'm not a fan

It wasn't until a year ago or so that I tried Japanese food for the first time at NOBU Melbourne. I was warned then that it would ruin me for all other Japanese restaurants and its possibly true partially. I've walked past this place a number of times and have always wanted to try their Ramen.

Mrs and I ventured in here feeling adventurous. We ordered for the California roll to share and I ordered the Tonkotsu Spicy Miso Ramen while the Mrs got the Chicken Katsu Curry Don. The California roll was spectacular. It was fresh and well rolled topped with some roe. I'd go back for that.

It was my first time trying the Ramen and frankly it probably isn't for me. The broth of nice and rich but for there were too many things happening at the same time which I wasn't a fan of.Ā This is not to say their Ramen was terrible but probably its not something I'd like to eat. The Mrs had the same reaction to the Curry Don as well. I tried that myself and didn't find much fault TBH except maybe I found the Katsu to be a tad greasy, but I nitpick.

All in all I'd go there for the Sushi and try something else other than the Ramen.

Oh I forgot to mention that the serving size is huge and you can definitely share if you ask me.
Alan
This place is always my go to place for Japanese food in parramatta. Though on the pricier side, it is well worth it for the food and ambience. I had the takoyaki balls as a starter and it was crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. I had the chashu ramen and it was beautiful. They give a generous serving of ramen noodles in my opinion and the chashu strikes a perfect balance between fatty and lean. The teriyaki grilled chicken don was a bit of a let down though - it was quite dry and bland. Overall, definitely worth a visit if you are in parramatta.
Anna Tran
Their food was alright.. wouldnā€™t come back though! Their photos on social media looked pretty good but when we got to try it it was just average.
Babybao
Mikazuki is conveniently located less than 5 minutes walk from Parramatta station and situated below the Western Sydney University 1 PSQ building. We came in on a late afternoon and ordered the Spicy Sashimi Taco, California roll, Seaweed Garlic Butter Wagyu Beef Don and the Chicken Katsu Curry. Food was fresh and servings were generous. I wouldn't order the spicy sashimi taco again but the other dishes were delicious. Service was quick and friendly. Will definitely be returning.
Ladida
Yummmm! My partner and I loved eating here. Service was friendly and prompt.
Food was delicious - we had spicy miso ramen and chicken nanban and both were full of flavour and umamiā¤ļø
It was reasonably priced too and very good portion sizes.

Weā€™ll return for sure!

Iā€™ll go a long way for a bowl of ramen. I once stopped over in Tokyo on an overseas holiday, and I canā€™t remember having anything in mind other than to try some bowls of the good stuff. Here I went with the chicken tori shoyu, not as heavy as a pork tonkotsu, but still a classic. The broth was great, flavoursome and light. The other elements were ok, but nothing special. Noodles were fine though the bamboo a bit crunchy. The search continues. Three stars.
The food at Mikazuki was alright. Nothing to write home about, unfortunately. For entree we ordered the Brussel sprouts which where nicely charred and covered in a sweet vinegar coating, but the food went a little down hill from there. The kaarage chicken wasnā€™t amazing, there we very little season and I soon lost interest in eating my food.
GymEatSleep
Not bad overall, donā€™t mind coming again to try out other dishes if happen to be in the area. The sashimi wasnā€™t as fresh as expected. Service remained friendly for the whole night.
Daniel J
Have made several visits here since discovering it. Best Japanese place for miles, authentic tastes and actual care is taken with ingredients.
Their ramen collection is impressive, pork based ones coming in a rich broth brimming with flavour.
Karaage chicken is moist and crunchy, curry sauce is rich, and the tempura is light and crispy. Would recommend the semi dried calamari tempura.

Actually canā€™t share highlights, everything Iā€™ve ordered has been spot on so far.
Joyce Lorbest
My friend recommend this place. Had dinner tonight, the food was excellent, lovely service and good ambience. We finished all of our meal and enjoyed it at the same time. Will definitely recommend it to my other friends and family.
Mykul RedpanDa Sanaphay
The food was very flavourful and delicious. If order extra toppings or noodle refills they give you a good amount of portion for its cost. The only downside from my point of view is my Tantan Men Ramen soup was on the warm side while the noodles were hot so it was a very odd combo. But overall it tasted good and friendly staff.

Japanese Ramen Galore

Just like Hidden in the mist village, this place is hidden from the rest of the best restaurants. I gotta be brutally honest, this place is awesome! There's a lot of Japanese food selection that you want to try them all. The staff is friendly and recommends you what's light and what's heavy and let me tell you, they know their ****!

The Ramen is flavoursome, it was in between of rich and light. The pork belly melts in your mouth and it was delicious! I would recommend the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen which makes it a next level Ramen. The place is cozy, this place is pretty casual and relaxed. I would recommend anyone to dine here and enjoy the porkiness of the Ramen. I can't wait to come back!

Christine
I would happily laud Mikazuki as one of the top Japanese restaurants in the west. Located below the new WSU building in Parramatta, it is a hub for uni students and workers alike, with dinner being a popular affair for all.
Ramen broth is flavourful and filling for lunch with an extra serving of noodles (kaedama) costing a mere $3. In terms of sashimi and sushi, the platters are great value for fresh fish, and the Miso Kingfish Ceviche is a must-order. Takoyaki and rice sets are also quite good.
Service can get a bit patchy when theyā€™re busy, but definitely not enough to detract from the delicious food.

I love Japanese food and was happy to find out another place opened up in Parramatta. There is so much on the menu ! I loved this place and have already gone back. Yum šŸ˜‹

Came here because a friend recommended it. Its a little pricer here for the portions you get. The sashimi tacos were really good! The sushi was also very good! Although the preparations took awhile. Overall, if you like your sushi drowned in sauce, then you would like this! It is on the pricier side as the portions are smaller than sakura in revesby and kanzo.
Mary Tran
Relatively pricey for Japanese food but salmon tacos are a must here!! Service wasnā€™t too great as they forgot our order. It gets really busy during dinner. Sashimi salmon was fresh and karage chicken also crunchy and juicy.

After seeing the long queues at Parramatta, we were curious to try out this new Japanese restaurant. There is ALOT to choose from on the menu, so they have everything and anything your feeling like (from sushi to ramen, to donburi to delicious starters)

We were very happy with our choice of food for dinner, starting with the Grilled Semi Dried Calamari and for our main we devoured the Tonkotsu Spicy Miso Ramen and the Seaweed garlic butter wagyu beef don.
JonitašŸ„¢
Ordered the black garlic tonkotsu shoyu here ($14.50) and it was quite average. The soup was full of flavour but very thick and oily which got quite sickening towards the end of the meal. In my opinion, the price did not reflect the serving size well.

overall: 3.4/5
gluten free options: 2.5/5
food taste: 4/5
ambience: 4/5
customer service: 3/5
pricing vs quality: 3.5/5

only one gluten free option listed on the menu which was the vegetarian sushi? even though sashimi should technically be gluten free... hmm... guess all the raw food would be gluten free. they do provide gluten free soy sauce upon request, although i wasnā€™t too impressed by the service (wouldā€™ve liked more prompt and attentive service)

the large salmon sashimi was really fresh and melted in the mouth. no complaints there.

sushi platter was an interesting array of fresh seafood. i personally am not that big of a fan of tuna but it still tasted good here. i also liked the kingfish.

soft shell crab was good too but a tad oily and too salty for my liking. i wouldā€™ve also preferred to just order the soft shell crab itself rather than in a sushi or a salad.

also pictured: takoyaki, and 2 rice bowls: butter chicken & karaage chicken, which i didnā€™t try since the 3 had gluten in them

i found that the platters were plenty for a group of people if they all like raw seafood~ was quite pleased and iā€™m keen to come again and try maybe a different platter~

Great Japanese food, the menu has a wide variety, ramen is pretty good. The king fish sashimi is also amazing. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Cute restaurant near a uni campus, smart for having students to come in and enjoy Japanese food for an affordable cost. What amazed me was the salmon tacos, it was mindblowing. We have tried volcano roll and dragon rolls from other restaurants but this one differs from all of them. Would love to come back and enjoy something different !

The service was okay, just the tables are a bit too close to each other. The food was great. We enjoyed the beef tartar, fresh salmon and nice ramen with delicious broth. Definitely would visit again.

I enjoyed their volcano roll dish, generous serving, but it would become too salty if you eat it all at once. I didn't mind too much but i found it useful to spread out the sauce or eat something else in between bites.

They also had a mushroom dish that my friend ordered because he was onĀ bit of a diet. That was really nice and I wish I had ordered that one instead.

A very sophisticated and delicious bowl of ramen šŸœ ordered the chefs recommendation, Black Garlic Tonkotsu Shoyu ($14.50). Lots of flavours and elements to the dish. Would recommend this place if youā€™re in the area.

The broth was slightly salty today, however Iā€™m sure thatā€™s not the instance on a daily basis. The staff are friendly and the ambience is cozy.

The other sushi and nigiri seem to be slightly overpriced for a student tho.

UPDATE:
Ordered the tonkotsu shoyu ramen ($14) during off peak. Disappointed in the service with 3 waitresses continuously ignoring me for 5-8minutes (put my hand up etc, as they casually brushed past me) to order one dish.

The ramen was very filling and I enjoyed it. However, the fat to meat ratio on the 3 pork pieces they cut is personally dissatisfying as there was more fat (I donā€™t enjoy consuming soggy pork fat).
Huge portion sizes for the price you pay! Broth for the ramen was full of flavour. We also got the rainbow sushi platterā€”salmon was super fresh.

Service was great. Will be coming back!

Loved this place!!! 4.5/5. Everything was so fresh. I liked how they didn't overdo the sushi with sauce because it makes me sick. The miso eggplant was so unique! A little too sweet for me but it tastes like a sweet tempura potato! I loved the crunch roll and seared salmon sushi best

Decent Japanese cuisine in the west!
Sushi/Don buri/Ramen bowls as well as other items is what youā€™d expect here.

Sushi is the best Iā€™ve ever had in the west, and they also serve it with fresh wasabi. Fish is fresh and delicious.

Don buri/Ramen bowls are nice and filling, and are definitely worth the price point. Would recommend this little Japanese spot underneath the WSU building.
