Review Thai I M Restaurant - Parramatta

Lisa Food Adventures
Love the Thai Milk Tea here as it comes with Persian Fairy Floss and is pretty to boot :) I did find the food to be your standard Thai cuisine but I do love the owner's attitude to getting customer feedback and adjusting. Good service and worth a visit if you're feeling like Thai in Parramatta.

I loved my experience here! I came here with a large group and all of us were accommodated , the staff were lovely. All dishes were so pleasing to both the eyes and tastebuds! I highly recommend if you're ever in North Parramatta to pay Sam and his team a visit! Some of my favourites were the Red Duck Curry, Homok Taley, Seafood Pad Mee and the Green Chicken Curry! I also loved the fried ice cream, mango sticky rice and banana fritters!

Amazing Food!! I cannot fault this place. We ate at the restaurant and the service was great plus the food came out super fast. I certainly look forward to coming back and tasting what else is on the menu.

The most beautiful Thai food restaurant I’ve been to these days. All dishes were served with a delicate presentation without compromising their tastes. Thai milktea is really delicious and my fav hot dish is massaman lamb curry (aka who killed the lamb). The seafood platter is served tasty and with a generous portion as well.

This Restaurant offers a large variety of Thai food and drinks. I’ve dined here many times and always loved the experiences. The place is recently revamped and I love the new look. They have ‘sweet but a psycho’ neon lights which are pretty cool. The outdoor seating area is cozy and perfect if you dine at lunchtime. On top of dining in, customers can also order for takeaway and delivery. I’ve tried many of their dishes and all so flavoursome and plated beautifully. Some of my favourites were the Thai Green Curry, Laksa, Choo Chee Prawn, Walking Barramundi and Duck Curry. These dishes were aromatic and packed with wonderful flavours. The Laksa was one of the best Laksa I’ve ever tasted. Absolutely delicious! Rich and flavoursome with perfect spiciness for me. Highly recommend. Tips: I normally park at Entrada Centre (the restaurant is just a short walk from here and the parking is free at time of writing).

Was easy to check-in online. Food pad thai and soft shell crab was nice, dessert was coconut covered in caramel with corn. Staffs are friendly. Toilet available. There is photo booth available too (sweet but a psycho in red + angelic wings and halo in white)

Located on a quiet side of Parramatta, the food here did not disappoint. Came here as a group of six, so shared multiple dishes Recommend dishes: ♦️Crispy soft shell crab ♦️Choo chee prawn ♦️Roast duck red curry ♦️Fisherman’s hook ♦️Whole barramundi with thai sweet chilli & tamarind sauce ♦️ Desserts - fried ice cream, fritters Standout dishes for me was the roast duck red curry - decent portion of duck and flavour on point. The whole barra was also crunchy on the crunchy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the middle. Plating was beautiful for every dish but I was more impressed with flavour. Staff were efficient, polite and helpful. If you want more or less spice, or extra chillis, just ask and they will help.

Hidden little gem in Parramatta!! Thai food with style, serving up flavourful dishes with colour and attention to detail. I was surprised it was good since it looks so pretty and assumed it only "looks" good. Must get the "Pad Mee" pink noodles, Thai milk tea, red curry, pad kee Mao with extra spicy and the mango sticky rice looks so pretty!! #saimaibyThaiIM #ThaiIM #thaifoodinSydney #thaifood #asianfoodninja @asianfoodninja

We went to have dinner after work . The reason we chose this restaurant is because of the high score in Zomato . However, the restaurant is steamed !!! So hot inside !!! The aircon is working at the receptionist rather than the customers . We just rushed to eat , did not have appetizers at all . Furthermore ~ we ordered lamb shank , and half of it was cold ... what the hell . The other dishes are too sweet, taste like they put heaps of sugars in it . We are not enjoyed at all at all aspects

Overall a cosy place to get some Thai food in Parramatta if you have cravings for pad Thai or some rice!

However, the other dishes left a lot to be desired. The salt and pepper squid wasn’t crisp and the flavour of the betel leaf dish wasn’t quite balanced with the fish sauce.

We ordered the Thai milk tea which took a while to make and we realised why as soon as we saw it—a lot of fun! But perhaps too sweet if you were after the drink rather than a full blown dessert.

Went here for the first time to have their Tom Yum soup, Panang curry and Pad Thai. The Tom Yum soup was extremely salty, the Panang curry tasted very rich with too much coconut cream and the Pad Thai noodles’ sourness overpowered the meat and vegetables in the dish. The Thai milk tea was weirdly pink with more ice than anything else.
Maybe we caught them on a bad day but definitely won’t be returning again.

3.5/5 It's been some time since I've had dinner in Church St but on this particular night, I head to Saimai Thai I M. Saimai Thai is located on the Northern end of Church st, past the park. I've seen lots of photos of other friends at Saimai and couldn't resist taking a photo in front of this display which is located inside the restaurant. I think it's very cute.

We have been going this restaurant for sometime. Good quality authentic Thai food at reasonable prices served with smile. Recommended highly.

Everyone likes Thai food right? So it's hard to find anything bad to say about the food at Thai I M. There's a good variety to choose from and the flavours are authentic. The main thing we like about the restaurant are the pretty flowers on the table which makes any dish you order automatically Instagram worthy.

food is so delicious here!!! the desserts were especially good - loved the fried ice cream & banana fritters. outdoor seating is the best, gorgeous plating too

Feast to Thai for! Sai Mai by Thai I M located in North Parramatta is a Thai restaurant serving up all your favourite Thai foods with a modern twist. Punny Thai restaurant names is an Australian tradition, however Sai Mai is keeping it traditional by naming its restaurant after a district in Thailand.
.
🍴What we ate:
🦑Salt & pepper squid
🥟Steamed dim sum
🍘Thai fish cakes
🐟 Fisherman’s Hook Seafood Platter
🍝Pad mee: pink noodles with stir fried vegetables and pork
🍳Homok taley: stir fried seafood and vegetables in red curry, lime leaf and egg
🥘Massaman beef curry
🍲Tom kha soup

|🍴Samai by Thai I M |📍Parramatta |
.
Never underestimate the power of good food. Eating delicious food can be a life-changing experience. 🙏🏻
.
Truly an amazing experience, colourful in my eyes and my taste buds as well. My favourite here was their take on the Homol Taley, which was was fragrant and delcious. Their lychee drinks and fish cakes was also a pure delicacy for me 😋🙌.
.
Gotta love the staff and decor here, made us feel like home here 🏠.

🌟 The prettiest Thai restaurant I’ve ever been too! .
Must-try: Mouthwatering massamun curry with tender chunks of beef was my favourite! 🥘
Does My Bomb Look Big In This
(3.5 stars)
Let down by their seafood supplier, Saimai by Thai I M only had about half of their menu available on the day I dined. You’ll find them on Church Street at the North Parramatta end, where parking is easier to come by, particularly in the nearby Entrada centre. Set at the bottom of a bland, low-rise office block, the Saimai team have done their best to personalise the space and create a little outdoor oasis from the busy traffic. Surrounded by greenery and latticework, the small sheltered enclave of tables and swinging cane basket seats is a nice place to eat on a sunny afternoon. Inside, more traditional dark wood and metal cast Buddhas are brought into the here and now with bright neon angel wings that label their would-be wearer as sweet but a psycho. Garlands of dangling fake flowers give the Insta-worthy crew plenty of set dressing for whimsical food photos...

Gotta love this Thai restaurant here located in Parramatta!!! The most authentic Thai restaurant you can find!!! Their perfect and outstanding presentation to the lovely interior of the restaurant!!! I love their outdoor area with the cosy swinging chair!!! It’s definitely perfect for a family lunch and dinner! As the kids and high school students will definitely love the “sweet but psycho” wall; perfect for Instagram pictures!!! Food wise was definitely perfect!!!!! It’s also recommended for work colleague meet up and catch ups too!!! Perfect vibe setting!!!!!

Was blown away by the BEAUTIFUL food presentation! All the dishes were very delicious, though my personal favourite was the duck curry with lychee and pineapple. This restaurant also serves a good variety of tasty seafood dishes and desserts. Would definitely be back to try all of the food on menu!

Saimai by Thai I M is a Thai restaurant located just north of Parramatta. Neo-Thai food is all about progression, taking classic Thai dishes and giving it a modern twist. For example, their signature Pad Thai with Vermicelli in Pink Sauce may look odd, but it’s actually quite delicious!
Made Like Mum's
Beautifully presented Thai food that is a little bit out of the ordinary. All the classics are covered but re-imagined into a truly modern and social experience. The food is all fresh and tasty and a feast for the eyes. My favourite dish was the Walking Fish (whole crispy fried barramundi) with the Thai sweet chilli and tamarind sauce. Topped with the sour and very spicy Prik Nam Pla it is perfection. The service is outstanding with the waitress having no trouble bending over backwards to ensure our dining experience was pleasant. Easy free parking 50m away at Entrada Centre.

Great ambience and great Thai food in the northern part of Parramatta, away from the busy CBD.

Thai I M has been open for several years and has been given a fresh new look which includes a neon lit selfie wall, and outdoor dining space with white cane hanging chairs.

The Menu is a mix of beautifully plated, traditional and modern Thai dishes. We ordered a nice selection of both:

Salt and pepper squid - the calamari was perfectly tender, this was my son's favourite dish.

Pad Mee in Pink Sauce - Vermicelli Noodles with vegetables and chicken. The noodles were perfectly cooked which made this a delight to eat.

Who Killed the Lamb Massaman Curry - This tasted just as good as it looked.

Between bites, we sipped on a pretty version of Thai Milk Tea with fairy floss, and refreshing lemon lime and bitters.

For dessert, we couldn't go past the allure of Sticky Rice with Fresh Mango and Red Velvet Coconut Cream, the perfect end to an evening of delicious Thai flavours.

We dined by invite of Foodblogs

Convenient parking is nearby in the Encarta centre.

If you ever wondered how to make Thai food look good on instagram, Thai I M is the answer to your prayers. I’ve never seen Thai food look as good as what you’d find here and the taste of the dishes don’t fall short of their looks either. I was lucky enough to be able to try this little newbie out courtesy of Food Blogs Media and it definitely didn’t disappoint.

It's a hidden gem in North Parramatta offering some gourmet and tasty Thai dishes. They have a cool neon sign inside and is suitable for big families and couples. They also have a cosy outdoor seating area with hanging pod chairs! My favourite to get would be their soft shell crab, fish and apple salad and their curries. Their thai milk tea was very dressed up as well with fairy floss.

Would be back to try out other tasty dishes!

I feel bad that I ignored Saimai (that’s their name now) for quite a long time as it’s on the fringe of Parramatta Eat Street. I’m so glad though that I finally did try. Truly, you’ll discover good things if you go off the beaten path. Highlights for me is their Walking Barramundi. You’ll surely walk back to Saimai once you try this. The Crying Tiger (grilled beef) has the right flavour combination of sweet and salty it will make you smile (not cry). Get it?

Nestled on Church Street, Parramatta is this quaint Thai restaurant offering both vibrant colours and delicious dishes. Ordered the following –
Betel Leaf Parcel – prawns were so fresh with ingredients making you feel refreshed and lightened, the mango, lime and chilli were subtle and that sugar palm sauce was yum.
Crispy Soft Shell Crab – really crisp with a little hint of chilli, just enough for a satisfying entrée,
Who Killed the Lamb – ordered this purely to test this restaurant, the meat had to be firm on the outside but soft on the inside, considering I broke this up with a spoon would say that this was exceptional, the lamb was so tender and the masaman curry left you wanting more and more.
Pad Mee – Now this was something else, the pink flavour grabs your attention but the taste keeps you coming back for more, this was my favourite dish of the day, just order it!
Roti Crepes with Blueberry and Ice Cream – fruit was fresh, ice cream was satisfying and the crepe just mixed everything together.
Thai Milk Tea and Lychee Lemonade were both delicious and well recommended choices of drink.
Look out for the angel wings inside ;-)
Thai Food is one of my favourite cuisines and Thai Im in Parramatta doesn’t disappoint! Their dishes are elevated to another level! With recent renovations and menu updates, I’d highly recommend to go here. The spicy & tangy Thai flavours are there in each dish. If you’re in the West, you should check them out!
.
.
.
It was so hard to pick my favorite dishes but I’d have to choose the Sizzling seafood dish (has fish, scallops, mussels, prawns!), Pad mee (the pink look is different but so delish!) & Lemon lime bitter drink (so refreshing!).
.
.
.
FEATURED:
⭐️Sizzling Seafood 🍤- Stir fried mixed seafood with garlic, chilli jam🌶 and basil served on a sizzling hot plate
.
⭐️Money Bags- Soft Filling of Prawn🍤 and vegetables served with a plum sauce
.
⭐️Salt & Pepper Squid with Thai Sauce ad Garlic
.
⭐️Pad Mee - Thai Style Vermicelli Noodles in Pink Sauce
.
⭐️Chocolate Fried Icecream🍨
.
⭐️Roti Crepes with Blueberry & Icecream

Thanks foodblogs for the #invite
An intensity of flavour unbeknownst to man! Thai I M delivers amazing food with an extensive menu highlighting some of the best Thai dishes in Sydney. My pick would be Who Killed The Lamb which is a massaman curry with a 4hr slow cooked lamb shank. Meat is delicate, juicy and falls effortlessly off the bone whilst the curry is rich, creamy and full bodied.

If you'd like to read more of my reviews, please check out my Zomato page and visit @cynthiaeats_ on Instagram for more photos!

My thanks to Thai I M and Food Blogs Media for the invite.

Eat here only if you are desperate for some Thai curry. Thai food standard here is white washed. Only tried the food because it's near my house. No other option. Otherwise I would prefer a better place.

Delicious Food !!! yumyum
we had a party at friends place and they got catering done from thai i m... i must say it was a treat.
Food was fresh and tasted wonderful. we tried fried rice, 3 different chicken and beef gravies, spring rolls , chicken wings and mini pizzas. Everyone enjoyed it
Will definitely be trying more.. Plus it serves HALAL so its a win win for anyone who choose to have it..
Highly recommend

Edit: visited 2 weeks ago and enjoyed fresh food that tasted great 👍🏼

I ordered Pad Thai once, and then I went there again and again. They ensure that you get not jut the stir-fried eggs in plenty but also get the taste of garlic, tamarind pulp, peanuts and juicy meat. Will I visit here again? Absolutely - as long as my work travels permit me to visit here again. :-)

Warning: do not waste your money here. I ordered a pad Thai and the noodles were plasticy and difficult to chew. The flavour was overly sweet with no trace of an authentic Thai taste. When I told the waitress, she told me it's meant to be like that. I have eaten at dozens of Thai restaurants in Sydney, and never been served inedible noodles. She brought out another plate and it had the same problem. I paid because I had picked at the chicken in the dish. Both the waitress and owner saw my full plate and neither offered to ask me how it was or show any sign of care. Terrible restaurant. 0/10. Never again. Minute noodles is better than their noodles.
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
I ordered through menu log the food was awful no flavour my larb chicken was simply chicken mince with no flavour bland crap food. I would try some where els so so bad
Salome_sera
The best Thai in Parramatta I reckon.. this is compared to a handful of Thai restaurants I've tried in parra. I usually order any of the following beef panang, chicken or seafood pad Thai, green curry, red curry.. and they always satisfy.. fresh, good balance of flavours without being too heavy or light on the coconut milk content.. well priced for what you get & friendly service. Will go back time and again.

I ordered home delivery and it took an hour and 20mins to deliver one entree and one salad. I live within a 2Km radius of the restaurant. I ordered at 5pm on a Wednesday and the food didn't arrive until 6.20pm. Can understand long delivery times for large orders or during peak weekend times but not for a simple order early on a weeknight. The coconut prawns were cold and soggy and the Larb Gai was tasteless and made of chopped up chicken instead of mince (it should be made of mince) which left the chicken bland and rubbery. It ended up in the bin. Wouldn't order from this restaurant again.
Simon Zin
good food not the best thai i've had but still good. cheaper than the other thai restaurant and customer service is quite good too. Only things not happy about was their satay chicken which taste nothing like satay chicken.

Recommended by a friend we booked a family dinner at this restaurant. This place is a hidden gem in Parramatta.

We were greeted by the staff upon arrival and directed towards our table. Ambiance of this place is quite nice and my wife loved the big Buddha picture on the wall. We ordered mxed platter, chicken skewers and crispy wings. My fav was the chicken skewers and sauce was delicious. Every entrée dish was delicious. In mains we ordered Red Duck curry, sweet and sour stir fry veges, rice noodles and honey lamb. I can say never had delicious red curry before, duck meat was so tendered. We all enjoyed our mains and cleaned up the plates. Didn’t try dessert as we had no place in stomachs.

Highly recommended and will definitely come back.

Customer service at Thai I am North Parramatta was awful, the waitress was full of attitude and very defensive. She took the order and presented two of the same dishes when only one was ordered and then proceeded to overcharge us by $12.00 when the mistake was hers!!! There were no napkins or crockery on the outside tables and we had to ask for them. Rice for two people was a tiny bowl to share!!!! The food was good, however, the serves were extremely small. This used to be a really good restaurant to eat at where the staff were friendly but now it must be under very different management. Overall eating at Thai I am was a very negative experience and we do not intend ever patronising it again in the future.

We have been here a few times for dinner. Great food and fast service. Always friendly and prompt with requests. The food are very tasty. Our favourite is the duck salad. A definite must try. My husband loves the chicken green curry. A bit spicy for me but very tasty.

After my third visit i think it is high time i do a review!

All visits have been superb! Satay chicken skewers for entree are the best! For mains have tried the duck salad, pineapple rice, Pad See Ew, and chicken cashew nut stir fry and Green curry . Delicious!

They also do takeaway! Most of the time i come there are only a few tables taken which is sad as this place makes great food and reasonable prices!

Its located on the quiet end of Church St away from all the other restaurants.

If you are in the area give the place a go! You will not regret it.

I love love love this place!

Have eaten here on a number of occasions, both delivery and eat in and it has never failed to meet expectation! When I dine in food always comes out very quick, longest I ever waited was around 15/20 minutes and that was when I came with a group of 10 people, so very fast for quality.

My favourites have always been their Chicken Pad Thai, Chicken Cashew Nut and Green Curry...never go wrong these!

Would recommend 10/10!

Good food, nice ambience, a touch pricy and some communication issues but friendly service. We have been here quite a few times in the last 5 years. The ambience is simple yet tasteful. The food is good, but not special. The place is a BYO. We were a big group, yet the service was prompt, but not pushy and they gave us enough time to chit-chat and have our drinks. The restaurant probably lost a star on value as cost-wise it's a tad on the higher side, obviously in comparison to a couple of other good Thai places in Sydney. ----- Got a take away delivered from here recently. It was a big order, but it was delivered in a timely manner. However, they missed a couple of dishes during the delivery. We informed the delivery person, who then spoke to the owner. The restaurant promptly accepted their mistake and sent us the rest of the order plus a free dish. And food was just as good as it has it always been.

Excellent. Fantastic food and service..Squid,cashew nut stirfry and honey lamb is to die for. highly recommended and go back again.

Thoroughly Disappointed. My experience at Thai I M tonight was terrible. I was there with my partner and we ordered two drinks (coke and solo), one entree, two mains and one dessert. The entree came out fast, and it was nice. But that's about all that was nice. The two drinks we were given were only filled just under half way. I observed the drinks that were being served to other tables and they were all inconsistent. Some glasses were almost full and some were filled less than mine was. After the empty entree plate was taken from our table it took twenty minutes for one of our mains to come out. We were both given a serving of rice, and I watched for fifteen minutes as my partner ate and finished eating (no complaints about the food, he said it was good). We waited another twenty minutes for my main to come out (I'm surprised we actually lasted that long). We ended up just paying for the food we had already been served and left, as it was taking way too long.
I'm hoping tonight was just a bad night, but we still won't be returning because from reading other reviews this seems like a common problem. It's a shame because the food that we DID get was actually good.

Have been to Thai IM since it opened, was really great then, however since they have sold to new owners, service quality has declined. Food is just ok

Double Yum. This place is really good. Have been going there since it opened. I enjoy eating in and getting takeaway.

Favourites are money bags, noodles and fried rice.
Helen Stack
Great Thai chicken fried rice. We ordered chicken satay and money bag for entree. Money bag is really nice. For main, we ordered papaya salad, massaman curry and chicken fried rice. Chicken fried rice is the highlight dish of the night. Will definitely come back again.
Sam
Fantastic. Went there last week with a group of 8 people.oh my god..its like a secret in town although everyone knows about it..we had all the main courses and thai food couldnt be any better..the OX TOUNGE is a must try..worth every $ we spend there..defo going back there again..

Got a home delivery last night, I'd have to say it is one of my top two thai places in parramatta. The food was delicious, arrived hot, pleasant delivery man! I recommmend this place! Definitely worth a try!

Fantastic food!!!. I've only ever ordered home delivery with these guys but I have to say the food is delicious! You can really tell the ingredients are fresh and the prices and delivery times are not too bad. Highly recommend!

Good but expensive. ITs a small place and does have a outside area, nice decorations inside but its still a bit small for me. The service itself, the food did take around 15-20 minutes to come out and there was only one couple in there.

Value: its a little pricey, the mains of honey lamb, almost $19 for 3 pieces and there are four pieces of chicken for its Thai I M grilled chicken was 4 pieces for almost $14. Sorry but thats not good value for me. Admittedly the food is good, the mixed entree (apart from the satay chicken stick) is much more tastier than other places, the curry puff had chucky pieces in it which was great, the fish cake is probably one of the best I've tasted.

The honey lamb was good, the grill chicken was great! Good food, but its pricey

It's really good value and it has alot of varieties of food to choose from what I personally think that this restaurant is a 4 star restaurant
