Review Basket Brothers - Parramatta

Helen Di Domenico
Had the avocado breakfast dish and my daughter has kids eggs with toast. Friendly staff. Very accommodating. Awesome strawberry milkshake with sprinkles which made my daughter very happy. Food was delicious. Don't understand the comments about poor service or terrible flavour combo. We had a great experience overall. If in Parramatta, will come here again.

They do not serve tap water for free. The food is average, it’s aesthetically pleasing but the wacky flavour combinations aren’t great. Coffee is average and service is quick

Would give 0 star if I could, went twice in the past week. Both experiences very poor service and not worth the money. 1st, ordered platter for 4, and explained to 3 different staff, we ordering 2 of the platters for 2. They agreed they understood us. Misleading platter pricing too. We waited 45mins just to end up getting a platter for 2 people, instead of platter for 4. We didn’t even get the full platter items as listed either. we then ordered eggs Benedict with no Hollandaise sauce on the eggs but on the side and with extra bacon. they brought out our whole plate was just sauce, could not see the bread at all, and forgotten the sauce on the side, didn’t even get cutlery. the table next to us wasn’t happy because their order was wrong too. 1 slice of bacon as the “extra bacon”…… Second visit, I ordered 2 eggs Benedict. Made sure to ask for it half cooked. eggs came fully hard. They over charged me $4 for having the sauce on the side??? and the waiter dropped spoons and forks on the floor then put it back in the racks they give out to tables. Didn’t even wash them. Not worth the time waiting and money spent.

While on a holiday mood a breakfast like this makes the day 🌞🕺🕺🕺. Thanks to @latteontherocks_ 😍😍😍 so what we had 🤔 The first dish is #TruffledMushroom which includes #sauteed #mushrooms #scrambled #eggs #wilted #spinach #haloumi #truffleoil on #sourdoughbread and second dish is #king #omlet #egg #mushrooms and #sourbread. A shout out to the person who prepared the cappuccino, Awesome coffee. Must visit

0 stars for this disastrous establishment that ‘Latte on the rocks’ like to refer to as a business. It is an uncoordinated circus none the less. We came here for Mother’s Day breakfast as a group of 8 + 4 small children. Requested a high chair upon booking and we were denied one as it was given away. An hour after ordering we received 3 out of 8 coffees which were ice cold. One out of 10 dishes ordered finally turned up after another 20minutes with no cutlery and it was also cold. We then had enough of the horrible service and proceeded to leave and the manager shrugged his shoulders showing very little care. An absolutely horrible venue! I recommended everyone stay clear of this circus! We ended up at north parra McDonald’s and felt blessed with the service we received from there. Thank you MacDonalds. Latte on the rocks, I recommend you shut down!

Doesn’t deserve my 1 star rating. Read some great reviews here and decided to book 7 of us a table online for Mothers Day. What an absolute nightmare 😡 They don’t have any regard for customers or value their time. We patiently waited and left after 2 hours without any food. There were many who left unimpressed and very hungry. We waited 55 mins to be seated, even though we had booked 10am for breakfast. After ordering, we didn’t get anything. Not even water or simple orange juice. With diabetic parent and kids we asked for our drinks atleast… Latte, milkshakes and orange juice. 2 hours later we left, without eating and no orange juice. We only got half of our drink order in takeaway cups. Being Mother’s Day, we didn’t get booking anywhere for even lunch. We ended up having lunch at home at 1pm Not happy & won’t be returning ever!!

Very good choices of brunch and breakfast items offered on the menu. The coffee was sweet but not too bitter, perfectly made. I ordered the big breakfast platter. The platter was good but I would like to suggest that they need to eliminate smoked ham as they are already serving bacon with big breakfast. The chorizo was delicious, just the way it should be. Not too salty or burnt out. 👍 The timing for the meals to come out are average and not too long wait time. Service is good. Thanks Team Latte On The Rocks - Parramatta.

After following their IG account for quite some time I was excited to secure a booking for Mother’s Day. I received an email 5 days prior confirming my reservation for 9 people at 10am. On arrival we were told staff had not reserved a table for our booking & would have us seated shortly. We were finally given a table at 10.25am. They did not clean the table for us, after 15 mins of waiting we cleared the table ourselves. There was also only 7 seats & after asking for more chairs that never arrived, we had to wait for chairs to be available elsewhere before helping ourselves. We did not receive a menu until 10.45 & decided we wouldn’t wait for them to take our order but go to the counter instead. Once our order was placed we were told our coffees would arrive in 5 mins. Our coffees never arrived & at 11.15, 30 mins later, we noticed our coffees & drinks on the counter so grabbed them ourselves, lukewarm coffees at this point. At 11.20 we asked how much longer for our food as we had 3 young children with us who at this point had been waiting almost 1.5 hours for their breakfast. We were told the system had crashed and that they had not noted our order down & that they would start our order now. To be told almost 1.5 hours later that our order had not even been noted or started is absolutely disgusting to say the least. They told us 20 more minutes so we waited as we had already waited so long at this point. We had ordered 2 breakfast platters for 6 (3 people each platter), extra hash browns, fluffy pancakes & kids chips and burger. At 11.45 received our 2 COLD platters & a cold kids burger & chips. One platter was missing the top tier of waffles, & missing eggs on toasts. After 10 minutes we asked where the rest of the platter & our order was to finally be told they had run out of pancakes, waffles & other portions of our order. Upon leaving I had to go to the counter & ask to be reimbursed for the meals we did not receive. Not once did the staff approach us to apologise or keep us informed or advise we would be reimbursed. The only time we were advised anything is when we got up and went to search for answers ourselves. Had we just been updated, offered a refund or had their been some transparency this review would’ve been a lot different. The staff showed absolutely no accountability for their actions. If I could give no stars I would.

I tried the mango coconut pannacotta granola and a red velvet latte 😁🤤
The mango coconut pannacotta granola was deliciously healthy.

Coffee is really good. The presentation of the food and the dishes are great. Tasty food, friendly staff, beautiful venue. Perfect for weekend brunch.

Order:
1. Breakfast platter (deal for 2 people)
2. Red velvet pancakes
3. Brother burger with fries

We came to the restaurant with high expectations. We purchased the breakfast platter for 2 people using a deal advertised for $49.

Overall the breakfast platter was a a lot of food. Very worthwhile if you purchase with the deal and likely to fill your stomachs. The savoury components for good, but the sweet waffle on top was nothing special and tasted pre-made.

I would not recommend ordering the pancakes. They were spongey, thick and overall tasted like flour. We couldn’t even finish half of it between 4 people. The burger was mediocre, you can get better somewhere else.

We made a booking with 4 people and were told by one of the workers that we couldn’t order the breakfast platter if we had 4 people. When we explained we would order other food rather than another breakfast platter, the worker was quite sceptical and did not seem happy. The table seating is very small, and did not fit all of the food and cutlery for 4 people.

While the breakfast platter was the star, the other dishes we tried were not up to par.

Overall pleasant experience, had a family friendly yet aesthetically pleasing modern brunch atmosphere. Ordered the BREAKFAST PLATTER, unfortunately we were unable to opt the bacon and sausages for a vegetarian friendly option (possibly because we used a coupon)- so if you have any dietary requirements maybe call ahead. The food was definitely a bang for its buck, with a mouthwatering array of sweet and savoury breakfast components (eggs, waffles, toast, bacon hash browns, fruit, you name it!). PSA: good pigeon management (you’ll what I mean if you decide to go 😉)

Extremely poor experience at Basket Brothers.

Wait times to order and then for food to arrive were over 25 minutes each. I ordered a burger without mayonnaise that came out covered in mayonnaise. I asked them to please take it back and give me one without mayonnaise. 5 minutes later it came out with the top bun scraped of Mayo but there was still Mayo throughout the burger. I am disgusted that this place would allow that to happen and if this was to occur to a person with an allergy it could cause some real harm.

When my burger was replaced again, it was a sloppy, greasy, bland mess.

My partner ordered a Pot of Gold with scrambled eggs. The eggs came out poached instead. When we let them know they said they will bring out some scrambled eggs. These eggs arrived 40 minutes later and only after reminding the staff twice. The rest of her meal was freezing cold by the time they arrived. Her meal was also bland and very average.

The staff struck the burger off the bill but this does not at all make up for the horrendous experience we had here.

Located in the same complex as Coles in North Parramatta (Entrada Centre), I came here to buy a takeaway coffee. It was from Pablo & Rusty. Coffee was okay.

Staff is super friendly and such lovely people. The food is also delicious with nice sized portions for a filling meal. The atmosphere is beautiful and everything is available for an affordable price. Really recommend this lovely place!!

Fairly average all day breakfast. Really friendly and pleasant staff, especially the tall lady who was very happy to greet us.

Ordered the sizzling shakshuka and the classic crushed avo. Tomatoes/capsicum base wasn’t fully reduced, as a normal shakshuka is which means it was soupy almost. Bread lightly brushed with zaatar was quite basic and we had to order another serving because there was too much of that soupy consistency to mop up. Mushrooms were the star. Avo dish was pretty looking, however the nice orange sauce/garnish on the side of the plate should’ve been on the bread it tasted lovely. Seasoning is amiss in both dishes and you’ll find them on the sweeter side.

Place was abit empty for a Saturday (especially compared to social hideout next door)
Got the platter for 4. Food is abit
pricey per person but cheaper than other places with breakfast platters. The French toast was really nice.
Staff here are very friendly and welcoming

I‘m being generous giving them a 3, prob more a 2.5/5.
Although it was a Sunday, (most popular day for brunch) we were actually planning to go to the Social Hideout but the line was too long so we decided to eat here instead which is just next door. We waited a few min for a table, and then a further 20 min for a waitress to just take our order. The food came out another 30min later, so we were waiting nearly 1 hr for food. Drinks came out about 10min after we ordered. When the food came, we were so hungry!!! 😢 My dish was the pumpkin smash, it was tasty, and well cooked for the most part, but the eggs were overcooked and definitely not runny.

My boyfriend’s plate was not as appetising, he found lemon pips in his avo smash, and his eggs were well over. He was really disappointed especially when for a similar price we would pay at the grounds he got a mediocre meal. Considering the amount of ppl, they should make more waitresses take orders quicker. Slightly disappointing considering the price.

Had a lunch platter for two, with two coffees and two bubblies, by using the groupon voucher. Service was ok, food was ok. Ordinary cafe. Would be nicer if they have aircon, it was 35 degrees.

Perfect service and good food. The brothers benne had eggs cooked to perfection and the hollandaise was delicious. The batch brew coffee was also very good.
The shashuka however was mediocre and didn’t have much to it, but yet again, eggs were cooked to perfection. The iced red velvet was very milky and didn’t have much flavour.
Will be back to try the other food and drink options

The place had a nice interior with good vibes. We got the 2 tier platter which looked great but tasted average. The staff were friendly. Downsides: there was a dead fly in our water. The coffee was okay. There were clumps in my soy latte and the chai was on the watery side.

Decent food but I felt there was too much sauce on some of the dishes which overpowered the dish. Service could have been a lot better. Went to brunch on a Sunday and it was only running at 50% capacity but still have to wave down a waiter to order food.

The staff is very friendly, food came quickly didn’t have to wait long, had a Brother burger and Smoke House both were really nice. Will visit again for their “Share Platter”!

Ordered the smoked brisket hash to go and asked for the egg to be cooked through as I am pregnant. After reaching home I realised this hadn’t been done, the potatoes were raw and crunchy like apples and the beef brisket was overly drenched in bbq sauce. Disappointing and not worth $17.50.. had to throw away more than half of it because the raw egg yolk had gotten all over it.

It’s located right next to the ever so popular Social Hideout, and truth be told we were much more drawn to the colourful dishes and cutely decked out interior of the Social Hideout than the more simplistic menu and decor of Basket Brothers. But we did give them both a go, and are glad to report that Basket Brothers is well worth a visit.

Beef Brisket Hash is a must order. The smoked beef brisket is as tender as it looks and sounds, and is cooked with carrots in a tomato-ey sauce which makes it more like a hearty beef stew

Such a beautiful space for a weekend lazy brunch! The breakfast/lunch boards are great for sharing especially with picky friends. There is a bit of everything. I loved the sliders!
_ladyeatsalot_
loved the ambience. came on an invite from a PR. enjoyed the share platter. so much food and a great price consider it's only $24 pp if I had to pick at anything it would be to put ice in their juices.

Based in a outdoor square in the Entrada centre of Parramatta lies somes of Parramatta’s best cafes. My favourite being Basket Brothers! This cafe is absolutely huge, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating - puppy friendly!. Service is awesome and friendly, dog loves indeed, feeling very welcome. Their brekkie menu is awesome and their lunch menu is not bad either.

This place is hit and miss. We bought a scoopon deal for breakfast for 4 and went to redeem on a Saturday morning to check out the newest breakfast place in our area. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. The manager/owner on the other hand seemed put out that we'd bought a scoopon deal. He sent 2 different waiters over to our table 5 times; twice to check the validity of our voucher (which was only bought that very morning), to repeatedly tell us what we could and couldn't order and he wasn't happy that we bought a voucher for 4 people but there was only 3 of us dining! At one point I thought he was going to send over the waiter to tell us we couldn't redeem a voucher for 4 with only 3 people! Both the waiters were embarrassed that they were sent over repeatedly to keep telling us the same thing and kept apologizing profusely. Not their fault, they were only doing what they were told.

Now to the food: We ordered smoked salmon eggs benedict, truffled mushrooms, the smoked brisket hash and 3 coffees. Portions were huge so great value for money. The eggs benedict and truffled mushrooms were both really nice. We'd recommend both dishes. The smoked brisket hash was way to sweet. It was smothered in an over overpoweringly sweet bbq sauce. The meal was too sweet to finish and we definitely wouldn't order it again. The coffees were great.

This place has great potential. 2 out of 3 dishes were nice, coffees were great, wait staff friendly and modern decor. If the owner/manager had some customer service skills we'd be regulars.

Matt and I head into North Parramatta for some brunch at Basket Brothers. I love a good brunch, particularly on a Sunday. It's quite busy as I walk in but we manage to get a table inside. The decore at Basket Brothers is modern and clean. I notice the big board that says Basket Brothers and the hanging hipster lights.

We had a delicious breakfast at Basket Brothers, the serving is so generous! We had the truffled mushrooms and the smoked brisket hash. The brisket hash was very saucy which I really liked. Very full and satisfied! Service was attentive and great!
Love At First Bite
Basket Brothers is a new cafe in Parramatta, their second branch after their branch in the CBD. The cafe is large and spacious and plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. We came here for brunch one day to check out the menu. To start off with we ordered the beef brisket with potato, carrot, fried egg, rocket, jalapeno salsa is one of the most interesting brunch dishes I have ever tried. I loved the smoky flavour of the slow cooked beef and the salsa gave it a great kick!
