Review Social Hideout - Parramatta

Mark M
I stumbled upon this place completely by accident after stuffing up a brunch mother's Day booking for my wife. This place is the best dining mistake I've ever made. Let's start with the service... No booking, fully booked out, and the manager calls a table that's late to confirm if they are coming, then slots us in their spot cos they were no showing. Minutes later a stunning waitress with impeccable customer service skills took our order after making some recommendations. We orders the Mac and cheese waffles, the pot of gold, and the velvet brioche. This was all perfection. The chicken and waffles with Mac n cheese is something I could eat daily. The pot of gold left me salivating for more. Just as we have finished our 2 fishes, the brioche has arrived perfectly for dessert. I'm coming back soon!!! The only downside to this place is you may end up influencersofinsta from the pics you post on social!đŸ€Ł

Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere here especially with the flower displays. Ordered the Mr Miyagi Umami burger which was juicy and delicious and I topped it off with the sweet Iced Red Velvet Bathtub. 😋

We got the lamb moussaka and the taro hotcakes. The Lamb was quite a strong flavour although the bread was a little dry. The taro hotcakes also had a nice sweet flavour although a bit dense. It was a very aesthetic place to hangout and it was definitely more for the vibe and chatting rather than for the food.

This place is good if you want good pictures for your Instagram profile. Presentation of the food is great, but taste is alright.

Good food, great prices and some of the friendliest and most outstanding staff I've ever had the pleasure to meet. Will visit again for sure! Big love <3

Loved our Saturday morning breakfast, the place was busy but staff was very nice and accommodating, loved the Chicken and Waffles and super strong coffee! The beautiful flower wall was just a bonus really ❀

Aesthetically pleasing decor giving Brunch vibes

Sydney's Instagram Cafe💝 Great ambiance, cute menu. The cafe needs more staff and good welcoming training. Map won't showing the correct address, the cafe is located inside the cole entrance. There is no signage outside.

The positives : the fruity granola was really nice
Not so positives - Did not have a good vegan selection
Smashed avo was 19.90 and my friend asked for the vegan option- and asked if they could substitute the eggs and feta for hash browns and they didn’t permit it; this does not make sense, additionally she was not given any mushrooms as advertised on the menu.

Good service and cute cafe, not particularly food I’d commonly get

Foods look lovely and instagramable, though they are over priced, lack options for vegetarian/vegan.

First time at this place which we chose going off photos, rhisbplace is good to take photos of the food for insta or FB.
The flat white coffee was warm and too frothy, the food tastwless, we waited long time for food and they missed a meal which we had tonwait another 30 mins for. Some staff were friendly but overall not getting what you pay for here and not worth giving it another shot. Plenty of ithernplaces to go.

Beautiful decor inside and outside. Staff were nice. Tried the Green Matcha Tea Frenchy, Pot of Gold (3 cheeses mashed up with slow cooked pulled lamb, house beans, wild mushrooms, herbed tomato puree, labneh and sourdough), Hibiscus grapefruit drink and matcha green tea latte. All were delicious and I would recommend :)

Please be cautious while ordering food, cause the the staff clearly doesn’t hear you well. On top of that when spoken to them about their mistake they wouldn’t accept it. This was done by the two managers of the place. No matter how good or bad the food is, hospitality is about people and they clearly don’t provide that. There was insect in the food and they would still not do anything about it, may be cause they care about the money they received and not enough about serving the customers. Another small thing that I noticed, since we weren’t white people they wouldn’t give us crockery to eat the food instead just dump the food on the table, just like you would give food to animals. Hopefully this review helps them improve and other customers wouldn’t have to face the same bad experience that I faced.

In all honesty this place was made for gram.
The service was absolutely beautiful, very warm smiling faces greeting you and checking up on you. The food looked aesthetically amazing. You cant stop clicking while you are in the cafe.
Coming to the food, the red velvet latte with almond milk was a 10/10 - I could drink that everyday of my life. We got slow cooked lamb cheese pot and Mac & cheese chicken waffle.
Both dishes substantial in quantity. The Lamb is dish is basically traditional Tagine if you have had it and yes it was made perfectly, however i was expecting something else from its description. My friend's dish was too heavy for her and lacked a bit of seasoning but mac n cheese was oozing with cheese. Place is a bit overpriced but you are paying for the place, the ambiance and its TOTALLY WORTH IT. Would i travel all the way there again? Maybe not in near future but its definitely a must visit atleast once.
overall :
Service : 8/10
Ambiance : 10/10
Food : 8.5/10

The place is too small and too crowd, the price of the food is not worth it

Second time coming here and today was a let down. The cutlery and cups were dirty and they did not get our orders right.
Ordered the the green Frenchy, drunk ragu & the barramundi. Frenchy & barramundi were very average. Although the frenchy had nice presentation, it did not taste as nice as it looks. The barramundi was disappointing - nothing special. The skin was presented face down which left it soggy (prefer crispy skin) & portion was small too. Salad was very basic.

However, the drunk ragu had a good flavour! It was a good dish and would recommend.

Overall, it is a very instaworthy place and looks pretty (to take photos at) but will probably not come again as the food did not match the expectations of what this place looks like. If I were to go again, maybe I will try there other location at Waterloo.

Decent Cafe around Parmatta area. Place is really popular amongst the intagramers for its Decor. The location was a bit odd and hidden amonst the center foyer surrounded by Resi apartments. Great Breakfast n brunch menu.
Can do better on serving fresh croissants and less icy juices
Food-3
Ambience-3
Value for money-3
Service-4
Anita
I went with a friend for lunch and my friend chose the barramundi and I had scrambled eggs. I was shocked to see the barramundi served was the size of a business card - with a little salad on the side. If we were fine dining I would have accepted that. My scrambled eggs were dry and tasteless. Disappointed as I usually eat next door but thought it wasn’t so busy so I’d try Social Hideout. Don’t think I’ll go back. Sorry I should have taken a pic but was in shock!
Katie Cards
Small portions that focused too much on presentation rather than taste. Milkshake was warm with rude customer service. The presentation covers up and lacks for what it has in flavour. Disappointed..

I have visited both of Social Hideout's Parramatta and Waterloo locations and can confirm that they are both very aesthetic with beautiful floral interiors and very pretty dishes. This Parramatta cafe is certainly smaller than the one in Waterloo and offers both indoor and outdoor seating areas. Their menus differ from the two locations and they also offer seasonal specials too! Definitely one of the most instagrammable cafes in Sydney! However, I must say, this cafe's selling point is certainly its aesthetic look and their food is nothing too extraordinary.

FEATURED:
- The Habib
- The Red Velvet Benedict
- The American
- Ze Omelette

For more foodie content follow me on my IG food account: @chels_eatravel

Service was great. Food came out fast, was fresh and tasted amazing. The vibe and the exterior/interior of the cafe was wonderful with vibrant colors. Definitely worth taking a few snaps since this cafe is well known on Instagram due to its unique style. We'd definitely recommend you add this to your cafes to try out.

Had to keep this one on the down low because I didn’t want any fans to rush down to try meet me. Snuck here with some friends on my latest trip to Sydney. Was 34 degrees when I was there. Didn’t get a coffee.

Visited social hideout in Parramatta, had to wait about 15mins for a table which was fine. After about 15mins of trying to find a waiter to take our order we decided to go to the counter and order, and got told a waiter will come to the table. So we waited and still had to flag a waiter to come take our order, our order was finally taken 30mins from the time we sat down. Ordered the panna cotta granola bowl and red velvet latte and my partner ordered the red velvet smoked salmon croissant. I found that after eating my panna cotta about half way through to have a sickening taste to it, it was very overly sweet and I couldn't finish it. The latte was nice and the croissant was nice aswell. It was very packed for a Saturday morning which I get. Would I come back, I would to try other dishes.

The location is excellent. The cafe itself is beautifully decorated, as if you are on sets of Lady Gaga G.U.Y.
Food and service is great. A bit on the pricey side thought.

socialhideout is known as one of the most 'instagrammable' cafes in Sydney, whether you're posing against the floral walls, striking a pose on the bicycle or photographing the beautiful dishes no one bats an eyelid, it's totally part of the experience.

I've dined here several times and the team have consistently provided exceptional food at an affordable price, great flavours, beautiful plating, friendly staff and great coffee too. I'd definitely recommend you add this to your Sydney brunch list

Sydney’s prettiest cafe is truly so magical!!!! Think beautiful flower walls & decor that you can’t not get a photo with!!!! the brunch menu is also delish!!!! the Frenchy was my favourite.. I also loved the matcha art latte!!! A great vibe and friendly service!
This_chubby_bois_life
By far one of my favourite cafes in Sydney. The food is delicious, staff are very warm and friendly, and the atmosphere is great. During my recent visit it seems a local grandpa would come and visit often, the staff new his name and you could hear them ensuring he was well looked after. Really good to see.

Going in with high hopes, this place really didn’t meet expectations. Service is quite poor, I had to wait for 10 mins until were seated, and then when we were seated it was extremely difficult to get the attention of the servers. The food is mediocre but the presentation of the food is aesthetically pleasing.
The Sydney Brunch Blogger
The food at @socialhideout is simply amazing and their instagramable location makes it a beautiful scenery to get your pictures perfect. I have a huge sweet tooth, so I was always going to order the matcha green tea French toast, red velvet mascarpone, berries, caramelised banana, bingsu rice cake and maple. Open to 3pm daily.
Donna Zhang
No doubt this is the prettiest cafe in Sydney! The decoration of this cafe is phenomenal, with amazing food, creative drinks and excellent service!
GastronomicGoddess
Good brunch food but a little on the pricey side. The green mojito was a star - really nice combo of sweet and sour. The sexy sliders were great too! Soft slow cooked lamb with tasty brioche (would totally recommend this dish). The umami fries were disappointing - more seasoning salt would be appropriate here. The habib has a perfectly poached set of eggs and a flavourful mushroom but the avocados were bland and the star of the dish was smeared on the side making it annoying to eat. Beetroot labne really should be incorporated better.

Gorgeous gem in Western Sydney! Beautifully decorated with the flower walls. My friends and i ordered the burger, croissant and the lamb dish which were all so tasty. A must visit for brunch out in the west.

Came to this cafe to catch up with some friends. I have been wanting to come to this cafe for a while. The service and food was great even though it was a busy day. We had the red velvet pancakes, pot of gold and bubble gum latte. I would highly recommend the pot of gold!

The decor of this place is splendid! Commend the effort put into put everything up in this resto!
The menu is quite interesting and has some lovely pairings...
The food and drink is bright, vibrant, lively and pops up off the plate.

Amazing food, especially the Frenchy!
One minor bit of feedback - the old style Habib (with the zatar eggs on top of the sourdough was much better)
Sydneyhomecook
This cute little cafe is not at all overhyped. It is a great spot for good brunch. The food her is just fab and drinks just superb!
The staff is kind and courteous, service is quick and each part of the cafe is straight as astounding as in the instagram pics.

Situated behind tall buildings, this beautiful gem is a must visit! Their food is totally worth the instagram post, definitely instagram worthy. I loved everything about this cafe, from the styling of the interior and exterior, to the set up of the tables, right down to the food.

I went with my partner to this cafe for brunch during the weekend around 1:00pm, and it was quite packed but not too overly packed. Surprisingly, we got a table almost instantaneously. I ordered the red velvet latte, red velvet benedict (with bacon), and red velvet hotcakes. My partner ordered the social hideout breakfast.

My red velvet latte was beautiful, silky smooth and delicious, it was pretty addictive I almost wanted to order another one if I wasn’t in a food coma! My benedict would’ve been such a standout dish for me if my bacon wasn’t so hard, crunchy and chewy but other than that, everything was perfect - hollandaise sauce was perfectly balanced and thickened, eggs were poached well and the croissant was super flaky and buttery.

The red velvet hotcakes were my favourite thing to eat out of everything I ordered! It was so fluffy, not too overly sweet which can make or break a dish. The fruits definitely were needed in this dish to break up the sweetness and richness of the hotcake and syrup.

Unfortunately, my partner wasn’t a fan of his breakfast. He said it was very below average, and said the same thing about his bacon. Overall, I’d still definitely still visit this cafe again to try other dishes on their menu!

Amazing first time experience with my friend. The service by the staff were spot on, and they were flexible as it took us quite a while to order. The staff were also very helpful with providing us useful recommendations, all of which were amazing and on point (taste and presentation wise) - would definitely come back again.

Sydney's most instagrammable cafe does not disappoint! The food was delicious and very photogenic. Super friendly staff and great atmosphere.

Sydney’s prettiest cafe! Love this place for a nice brunch. The ambience is amazing and a great brunch menu. My favourite are the tub milkshakes/coffees.
Julie Nguyen
After seeing how aesthetic this cafe looked I knew I had to give it a go and it has been on my brunch bucket list for a while now. Was craving something sweet so opted for the red velvet pancakes. Also got the avocado toast as well. The red velvet pancakes was surprisingly really good! Loved how the dish wasn’t too sweet and the fruits were a refreshing addition. The avocado toast was pretty much your standard avocado toast so nothing special there. The cafe has super cute decor as well and service was friendly and quick!
EMZ EATS
For my first time here I tried the pot of gold and I absolutely loved it!!!! The sauce was just right and the lamb was cooked perfectly. I wish we had at least 2 whole slices of toast because one is 100% not enough. The sweet potato wedges were also bomb!!!

My boyfriend tried the lamb lunch dish and was a bit disappointed though. He said it wasn’t worth the price. We’re still happy to come back and try more though!!!

PARKING TIP: apparently there’s a parking complex nearby which might be free for 1-1.5 hours? So you don’t need to park all the way at Parra Westfields.
Daniel
Very cute decorations, lots of flowers, makes you feel like you're in a country garden cafe

We had the Mr miyagi burger, it was tangy and hearty.

I'm sure everyone and their mother has heard of this place already as it's been all over social media lately. Dubbed "the most instagrammable cafe in Sydney" everything from the decor to the food and drinks are so beautiful and vibrant.

Featuring a floral theme, from flower walls to floral features hanging from the ceiling, the whole café is picture perfect. Even the dishes they offer seem to be designed for instagram.

Their milkshakes are served in miniature bathtubs topped with fairy floss!

The Taro hotcakes seems to be one of their most popular dishes and not only is it bright and colouful, it also tasted amazing.

Highly recommend this place for and nice brunch with your girlfriends.
Felica Angeline
wow! now this cafe have a new look and new menu! i totally love every single spot in this cafe, looks pretty in pink!! such a great time to have nice brunch here with a delicious foodđŸ„°đŸ„°

Finally got to try this place out after hearing so much hype about it. Definitely something straight out of Instagram— the pictures you see of the ambience and food are exactly what you get which is a plus. The meat in the sliders was a little dry but the french toast is something I’d recommend to everyone. The place and the presentation of the food is aesthetically pleasing and the pricing is somewhat reasonable. Would come again :)

This little cafe like its name is a great hiding spot for brunch💕The food was great and drinks even better! The service was quick and welcoming but the cafe inside was a little stuffy. A little air-con or fan could’ve been much more comfortable.
M Z
Honestly was such a good and rewarding experience for me!! The green frenchy was sweet and didn't taste bland at all like I was expecting and the red velvet hotcakes... They were super super fluffy and the syrup on top paired with it so well!
Mukie
The food looks very pretty and beautifully presented however we found the hot cakes were quite doughy and the iced matcha, iced chocolate to be overly sweet. Also had the burramundi which was good though a little expensive for what it was. Staff were friendly.
RWfoodie
Lovely joint, beautifully decorated on the outside and inside. We came on a quiet day so the environment was very nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating to requests. Will definitely come back!

We had The Habib, Arigato waffle, and taro hotcakes. Also had the green juice and red velvet milkshake to go with the food. My favourite dish was The Habib. The hotcakes could be a little fluffier though. Could get a little busy on weekends, go early to avoid queue!
MKC Inc.
Beautiful ambiance and instagram worthy joint to visit. The food was presented exceptionally well, with colourful elements and flowers added to every dish. Ordered the avocado and poached eggs on toast. Came with beetroot hummos, pretty average dish however presented well.
Prabh Sharan Singh
Ordered an almost greek omelette and chicken avo salad with strawberry shake. The omelette was very well made and the cherry tomatoes really brought out the flavour. Chicken avo salad was decent too. Strawberry shake was a little watery could have been better for the price. Overall good food and good ambience, would recommend!

I booked a reservation for 7 people at least 3 weeks in advance. I had heard great things about this place so decided to take a friend here for his birthday. Got the table but noticed that we were the only table sitting directly in the sun. It was the first day of summer and it was hot. Every other table had shade from the umbrellas except us. Not only does this make the dining experience uncomfortable, it’s also dangerous. After asking to be moved, staff ignored my request. When tables freed up we still weren’t moved. Staff also ignored us when we wanted to order. They served every other table around us but seemed to just avoid us. It was frustrating.

Finally ordered. Received our food really disjointedly so we couldn’t all eat together. The eggs benedict came out 15 minutes after everyone else. Food was good but service was not what I was expecting after all the great things I had heard.

I just visited social hideout yesterday for the first time. It was an amazing experience with kind staff and had a nice chat with my friend. I would recommend this place!!
Rachel Huang
Beautiful cafe with friendly staff. My partner and I tried The Tokyo Mac and Mr Miyagi Burger and both were unique in flavor. I personally was not so enthusiastic about the Miyagi burger, the flavor was too empowering for me however was worth the experience. To end on a good note , I was deeply impressed with the Ice Red Velvet and Matcha Green as both were true to taste and rich in flavor. I would recommend Social Hideout to those who are looking for a secluded brunch spot for a relaxing vibe and photo worthy food.

It was my first time at Social Hideout and I’ve got to say I’m a little disappointed in myself for not reading the menu clearly and got the average big breakfast meal. Big breakfast meal was okay, nothing wrong with it but im just not a fan of it. I would have to come back and try other things on the menu as it looks amazing đŸ‘đŸ» Overall, the place is very peaceful and quiet with nice shade if you’re sitting outside. The staff is also very nice as well.
GymEatSleep
2.5 would be a fairer score based on our experience. I like everything but the food here. The service was very friendly, and the palace has been nicely decorated. However the food... corn fritters were too crumbly compared to other fritters I have tried so far, most importantly - please provide some sauce to unity all ingredients on my plate; the crumbed chicken was absolutely tasteless on the chicken waffle, the only flavour from the plate was the sugar from the waffleđŸ€ŠđŸ»â€â™€ïž.
Nozaira Sultana
I am not sure why I came back here so late. I could see it was climbing the rating chart like the flash. Well better late than never! Tried their chicken waffle and how good was it!! That savoury crunchiness of the chicken perfectly balances the sweetness of the waffle. The coffee is good as well. Can be a bit of a wait during weekend but the service is amazing so not much to worry there. Highly recommended.

As we first entered the cafe, it was such a lovely environment surrounded by lots of greenery and cute layout. My partner and I were running late and it was getting very close to closing time, however, the staff were super kind and invited us to sit down and have a meal anyway. The seating was very comfy with pillows surrounding the bench and the food came out quickly and was definitely instagram worthy! Overall wonderful experience with good food and amazing service.

This is a nice cafe with lots of breakfast and lunch options. I had the arigato waffles with fried chicken and bacon which was quite nice. It was a fairly heavy dish but the waffles was really well made being crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside.
The matcha latte was okay here as well.

I wanted to try the taro hotcakes but they were sold out by the time we arrived so we had the french toast instead. This was visually a really pretty dish and the taste was okay. Overall, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was really nice.
KS
Went there for a try after seeing photos from Instagram and review in Zomato. Service was not bad but unfortunately food was overrated. Nice to see in photos but different story when putting it into your mouth. May be I have too high expectation before going there.
FassionFruitGirl
I visited Social Hideout Parramatta on a weekend and found it is absolutely an instagram friendly café! The food and service was nice, worth spending some time with friends here.
Brigette
Came here for lunch on a Saturday and was seated outside in the cute garden area.

We ordered the Arigato waffles and The Habib which has beetroot hummus - a nice twist to the standard smashed avo on toast. We also had the Taro hot cakes for dessert which was complemented well with fruits and ice cream and wasn’t overly sweet.

For drinks we had the matcha green tea latte and a flat white which we enjoyed but the iced bubblegum drink was our least favourite.

Overall it was a nice lunch with friendly service and insta worthy food.
Jess
A cute cafe, aptly named, with a garden-esque vibe. A lot of attention and thought has been put into the presentation of the food. Service is quite efficient, I've never had to wait long even though they're usually quite busy on the weekend. Overall, a solid place to brunch.
Mike Kabbara
Amazing food and service 😍 staff was very friendly in accommodating our group. Dishes we ordered were all lovely and consistent. Definitely recommend!
Anh Lam
This place is such an insta-worthy spot and the dishes are so colorful that I had to add this to our list to hit up while we were in the city. The set up is absolutely adorable. It's really cute here and very bright. it reminded me of a really adorable cafe in the streets of europe.

RED VELVET LATTE
I didn't like this latte. It was way too sweet. The consistency was a nice thickness and I could taste the red velvet, but it was very rich.

MORNING GLORY- mango, peach, and passionfruit
I really liked this refreshing drink. It's definitely something to order on a warm day. The fruit flavors were very good and sweet. This could perhaps be a mimosa in the making.

THE FRENCHY- vanilla mascarpone, maple, berries, caramelised banana, mochi rice cake
This dish was very sweet. It was a mistake ordering this because everything on the plate was sweet. I did like the french toast. It had a good thick texture on the edges, but still soft and moist in the center. The fresh fruits helped to balance out some of the sweetness of the dish, but unfortunately there was not enough fruits. The maple was too sweet and the caramelised banana was also very rich with the mascarpone. Most likely we won't be ordering this in the future.

ARIGATO WAFFLES- furikake chicken waffles, cheddar, crispy bacon, and miso hollandaise
This was my favorite dish of the meal. It was absolutely perfect. I'm giving this place an extra star because of this dish. The waffles were perfect. It was crisp and so light. The chicken was also very crispy and moist. The miso hollandaise sauce really tied everything together and added a sweet and savory factor. The bacon was not as crisp as I would've liked. I would've preferred the fattier bacon for texture purposes and also because it's more flavorful. Overall, it was the perfect dish for my palate.

I will come back solely for the arigato waffles. It was so good. Other than that, everything else was ehh~ Service was not great. It took the girls forever to get our orders. The decor is definitely something to come for.
Elmasrymona10
Absolutely loved the setting of this cafe, great for taking those Instagram pics. Great indoor and outdoor seating areas. If your a Chicken and Waffle lover then I would definitely recommend their Arigato waffles (I had it without the bacon).
Arij Al-Jamal
Under expectations! Bas service bad location nothing extraordinary and food under average! Instagram photos shows 180 degree different character!
Come here for the grams; not for the food. Social Hideout is one of those places where the food looks better than it tastes. The restaurant itself is well designed and comfortable but the food was disappointing.

Arigato Waffles: I would not be surprised if the waffles came from the Coles bakery aisle across the courtyard. Overly sweet, dense, dry, and most certainly not fresh. The chicken was essentially a frozen chicken schnitzel, probably from Coles too.

Sweet Corn Fritters: Calling these corn pancakes, fritters, is a bit of a stretch. Otherwise not as offensive as the waffles.
Alice Chau Nguyen
A cute secluded spot, with a very relaxing vibe. Came here for brunch and I had the Hayne Plane breakfast. Decent pricing, good quality food! Only critique I wish I had more turkey in my meal.
Anita Nguyen
First things first, my partner ordered a social hideout big breakfast with scrambled eggs but got pouched eggs instead. Not only did they get this wrong, they forgot to give us bread.
We were pretty certain they made a wrong order for a different table and gave it to us instead as the meal was already cold when it arrived at our table. Not to mention, he was the only one who got his meal whilst everyone else waited about another 30 mins for their meals.
Secondly, 5 out of 6 meals we ordered came out. My friend ordered chicken and waffles in which was never made. Upon asking numerous staff members, we were told it would take another 5 mins. Moments later, a table who came AFTER us got their chicken and waffles before us. When we asked staff again where our meal was, staff looked at each other awkwardly as if they were trying to find another excuse to tell us as they forgot our meal.
Thirdly, the lack of customer service at this place is shocking. Not once did any staff member come to the table to apologise as to why we didn’t get our meal. Instead, we got dirty looks and greases because we kept asking constantly where our meal was after a solid hour.
Finally, when I went to pay, not once did the staff member apologise for what had happened until I had to remind them that they forgot my meal and came up with lame excuses. Yet, when they did apologise, it was to get me out of the cafe as quickly as possible and was not a sincere genuine apology.
All staff lacked customer service and as I am from Melbourne, I will definitely never be recommending or visiting this cafe again.
Even if this place had great customer service, there is nothing special about the food here. Everything was bland and only pretty looking for Instagram.
Delicious and beautifully presented food. Service was a little patchy, but well intentioned - reasonable for a Saturday lunchtime. The effort was maintained to keep even fussy eaters happy. As a result all plates were cleared. We ate: Almost Greek Omelette (picky vegetarian said it was delicious), Frenchy French toast and the Arigato waffles which wasn’t as good as I had hoped for (crumbed chicken breast was bland and a little dry) but still clever and tasty the mayo was delicious. Coffee was a little watery.
Lovely atmosphere both inside and out, even on a cooler day.

After much speculation, my friend and I visited social hideout this afternoon. With the whole cafe filled to the rim, we got seated outside in the shade.

Upon ordering, the drinks came out faster than expected. But the wait was not over. Food came out 15 minutes after ordering, and sadly the food was warm.

Even thought the food looked amazing. I was disappointed with my waffles. It was overly sickening and felt as though it came out of a packet. Will think again before visiting.
Moodie_Foodie
Yeah...hmm...ok

That has been my reaction. This cafe is very close to where I live and hence was very excited to see it get great reviews. I've been here twice and both times it was an underwhelming experience. I haven't tried their burgers though and maybe I should have tried that.

The first time I ordered the The Habib while the Mrs ordered the Avo smash. We ordered the Morning Glory juice to go with it and some coffee.

The food was ok, we really didn't find it too exciting but the juice, that was phenomenal. It was so refreshing and delightful which made the experience better.

The second time I went there for lunch and ordered the Corn fritters. The portion size was good but I couldn't taste the smokiness in the smoked salmon. The dish was well presented but again it didn't wow me.

Overall try something else here than what I tried and let me know but unless I'd find something compelling, I'd check out some place new to go.

Went here last sunday , greeted by a lovely waitress which offered us a choice of a seat in the sun or shade which was thoughtful.

It was 11.10am however we requested to order from the lunch menu which wasn't available until 11.30am. We were instructed to wait until at least 11.20am to order so we did so.

Corn fritters - Was like a mad mex sour cream burrito bowl slapped ontop of potato chips. When condiments were eaten together it honesty tasted like a blended burrito at best. Extremely ordinary.

Unagi Burger - Lack of consistency through each bite of the burger, took about 2 large bites of getting nothing but bread to finally reach the un-so satisfyingly patty which managed to be extremely dry , overcooked and flavourless however still managed to drip liquid all over the bun making it soggy at the same time. The bun was lathered in what seemed to be mustard/ Dijon sauce which added an incredibly sour taste to the already painful attempt at a burger.

Long story short , a zomato rating of 4.4 means nothing in Parramatta , either people clearly have no understanding of what good food is or I just had a bad experience. I would not recommend this place personally...there are plenty of other better alternatives.

We had a good experience here, tucked away in a courtyard in North Parramatta. The Hayne Plane was a fairly decent brekkie/brunch, and the others in my group seemed to enjoy their meals.

Decent food and decently priced.
Nice drinks and nice service.
The cafe is cute and it’s very trendy and thus always full!

Definitely a place to visit at least once.

The food was amazing here! Very unique and tasty! We ordered the chicken waffle (arigato something) and the zattir (I think). It was absolutely worth the price and track since we live so faraway. Service was good since we arrived on a busy period without booking, the lady there was still able to accommodate us. She even gave us our suggested seating place which was outside. The only dilemma is the drinks. They are pricey and not quite up to my standards. The mix isn’t the best and they are honestly average.
>>AMBIANCE: 9 >>FOOD: 8 >>SERVICE:8

They have the cutest chilled out yet classy decor. Very friendly staff. The food is amazing. Fairly long menu with a good variety of burgers, pancakes and other lipsmacking options to choose from.
The burgers we tried were superb. The buns were so amazing with all fresh ingredients. The pancakes are soulful. Would love to try out more stuff here soon.

The name really fits to their location, which is quite hidden. It's tricky too find this place but once you've found it, you'll love it. Lovely decor and they have indoor and outdoor seating area.
My favourite dish has to be 'The Habib'. This Middle Eastern inspired dish was delightful and insta-worthy.
Coffee is awesome, from Campos.
Tips: park at Coles so you get 1.5hours free parking (hope it won’t change to paid parking).

I returned to this cafe after a few years. I ordered the sweet corn fritters and it came with poached eggs, smoked salmon, avocado and tomato salsa, pomegranate, creme fraiche and tomato relish. It was a delicious meal and I was pleasantly surprised to see the fritters weren't fried too much so the corn had its original texture and crunch. The ambience and decor of the cafe is nice and it's a fun place to visit with friends and family.

Perfect ‘social hideout’ with friends away from the crowds of Church St.

The Taro Hot Cakes is arguably the most delicious cafe dessert we’ve had for some time. It’s eye candy with perfect balance of sweetness and texture. We don’t normally like taro but this may be the only exception.

This is our first visit and the service, coffee and food has been great. We will certainly be back.

Had the pizza omelette which was very yummy and service was impressive despite it being busy. The design and environment of the cafe is adorable and very homey. Always nice going here.

Not only is it Instagram worthy but the food is actually really good. The atmosphere is really lovely as well especially the outdoor seating. Highly recommend and would definitely go again.

Visited today with my husband, and the food was very delicious and staff were friendly. We ordered coffees, Social Hideout Breakfast and the French Toast which were all very pleasing. I would definitely come here again.

Located away from the CBD, Social Hideout is a cafe you visit when you want to forgot you're in Parramatta (or are in need of a break after grocery shopping at Coles).

The inside and outside of the cafe is beautifully decorated, and blankets are even provided on the outside tables for a cold winter day. The staff that served us seemed a little clueless about how to modify orders or providing any suggestions for certain allergies, but were still friendly to our special requests.

We opted for the Taro Pancakes, Tokyo Mac ,and Bubblegum Latte, all of which we were quite happy with. Besides obviously being absolutely amazing to look at, the food was very flavourful and finished by the end of brunch time! I would highly recommend the taro pancakes as a little treat at the end.

My friend and I visited Social Hideout today for brunch based on it's popularity on social media as an "Instagramable Cafe." We ordered the taro pancakes to share, one Morning Glory juice and a latte. The taro pancakes were, as we knew, presented exceptionally and we spent a good 5 minutes snapping away. Unfortunately, upon consumption, we found the pancakes to be dry and there was a bit too much sugar going on between all the elements and the coffee was on the burnt side of the spectrum. Price wise they are competitive with most other brunch spots in Sydney but we probably won't be making a second visit.

I never usually bother with writing reviews, but I must say I received amazing service last time I came here with friends and the food was as usual, excellent! The staff are casual but genuinely friendly and helpful, the atmosphere of the cafe is fun and relaxing, and the flowers and giant panda Ping Ping so cute! I had The Habib and shared the Taro Pancakes with friends. Eggs were poached perfectly and beetroot hummus so yum, the Taro pancakes tasted fresh with the fruits and ice cream - Social Hideout is definitely a go-to cafe.

If you’re looking for an aesthetic place to eat then this is the place. The Social Hideout is, in my opinion, expensive and the food is mediocre, but overall it’s a friendly and pretty place. By the way, if you’re thinking of going here then be sure to book a table before hand :)

Social Hideout is a good place to relax breakfast and brunch in North Parramatta

Love the taro hot cakes and the taro sauce, must try! Very good service and helping staffs. Will come back again soon

Every time we visit The Social Hideout, the food is delicious & service is fantastic!

We love the consistency of this cafe - it's hard to come across this these days.

This time around, we ordered the Taro Pancakes and The Habib. Both dishes were so visually appearling & tasted as good as they looked!

The Taro Pancakes were a beautiful start to the day. Not to sweet, and accompanied with fruits and ice cream, it was like having dessert for breakfast! As for The Habib, the dish just burst with flavour. Every flavour was perfectly balanced & complimented the dish!

We will definitely be back soon!

It was my first time trying this hidden cafe aka social hideout in Parramatta. I loved everything about it and have no regrets at all, the food and service was amazing and perfect. I'll definitely come back for more!
Love At First Bite
Social Hideout is a cosy cafe in Parramatta does that does a range of Asian fusion inspired brunch dishes in a leafy courtyard. I love the addition of Ping Ping, the resident panda, and it proves to be a popular hit with families and kids. For our drinks we ordered the Iced red velvet and taro lattes with ice cream and whipped cream. This was quite indulgent, the red velvet was sweet while the taro was lighter, both quite delicious and refreshing.

Social Hideout was one of those places where food looked stunning on instagram but fell extremely short in real life 😡. It's a double-edged sword with social media nowadays, I'm always excited to try out new places and I get it, we eat with our eyes but that's where photos can be so deceiving. Especially in this day and age where cafes and restaurants care a lot more about dainty microherbs than actually putting up delicious food.

The Habib was the most money I've ever spent on a bad "eggs-on-toast" đŸ„šđŸ„‘đŸž. A stingy amount of beetroot hummus spread over the thinnest layer of smashed avocado, both sat atop a sad-looking piece of sourdough. [ Tip: when you can see the bread through the spread, you know there's not enough đŸ˜€! ] Either the avocado or hummus was warm and that made the bread all soggy. The hummus wasn't even good as it was grainy, clumpy and had hardly any beetroot flavour. Shiitake mushrooms tasted like they came from a can and poached eggs were, well poached eggs. Oh but look at the pretty microherbs and pomegranate seeds 🙄! Pfft, give me a break.

Ian's baked eggs was hmm not baked eggs 🍳🍎? At least not whole eggs, who knows if there were even eggs in there. It looked like they had pre-scrambled a whole heap of eggs with tomato sauce, poured the mixture into the pot with some chorizo and mushroom before putting it in the oven to "bake" it đŸ˜”. If there were chilli or Danish feta as advertised we couldn't taste them. The 2 pieces of Turkish bread were skinny and hardly soaked anything up. Mushroom was so thinly-sliced and chorizo was average. But then again it would take a special person to screw up sliced chorizo.

Decent instagram - taste trade off.
Still a good cafe though! Food is good, and great seating / ambience for catching up with friends.
It’s just a better cafe for your ‘gram.
