Review Asadal Korean Japanese Restaurant - Parramatta

Lovely restaurant with delicious food, very reasonable prices and friendly staff. Highly recommend venturing a bit off the main eat street of Parramatta to dine at this hidden gem :) Some of the best udon I've had in a while...

Great range of korean and japanese food. Sushi is always fresh and tasty. Priced reasonably. Staff are friendly and accommodating to large groups!

Dishes looked scrumptious and appealing at first glance. Unfortunately, culinary appreciation rapidly declined with the first bite as the cuts were not so crisp and fresh as they appeared. I give them 3 stars for the servers' courtesy and attentiveness though.

One of my favourite sushi places in the west. Very pleasant staff and great customer service. Reliably good food.

Amazing Japanese food. Our favourite is the teriyaki salmon, it just melts in your mouth!

You'll find me here every week enjoying my Chicken Katsu meal for my lunch break. The staff are very friendly and had attended to my needs and thought it was funny that they already know my usual order. The slight downside though, they probably need to higher some more wait staffs because it does get busy in there and I had waited over 10 minutes to be able to call someone to help me with my order. Otherwise, it's a great Japanese restaurant with a variety of delicious food.

Really pissed off. Minimum $50 spend to have delivery when most meals from sushi cost $10-15. I even offered to pay a delivery fee on top of my order which was $22 but no they wanted me to pay $50. Ridiculous. Oh and I forgot to mention. I live 1 minute away but couldn't get there for pickup so the service is absolutely rubbish. Always order from this place and as a continuous customer I'm very disappointed with them tonight. Very very annoyed and at this stage may never order from here again.

Asadal is quite clean and service was good. The cost may be a little bit pricey but quality is always the same. Would like the quantity to stay the same but it seems like it has reduced in size. I would like to recommend to dine in small groups. The food is tasty and it projects as a nice area to have small conversations at.

Average Japanese & Korean cuisine restaurant in parramatta. Seafood hotpot and chicken were quite nice - came with generous portions of rice. the chicken curry was a bit bland & sushi had quite alot of sauce, but service was very friendly

Don't believe the published opening times. Called at 2.15 pm for a pick up order to be told that their kitchen is closed. Very poor service!

We came here on a Tuesday night after work and found this lil place. Didn't know what to expect but the mixed sushi plate was delicious and fresh. My colleagues ordered a bento box and it was a very generous serving

Close by Japanese restaurant near work, so it's easy enough to get to. Although there's nothing particularly special about the menu, which is a fusion of Japanese and Korean - standard sushi/sushi train stuff and with korean food like bimbimbap.

My favourite place for sushi! Never a disappointment! Service is fairly quick and the food is always fresh. Prefer these made to order sushi over any sushi train. Pricing for what you get is reasonable overall definitely a place to visit.

Delicious fresh sushi and a big menu

This restaurant is under new management, which they have turned this into a absolutely terrific establishment. The previous owners were not very professional and did not present this restaurant well.

I visited this sushi restaurant late with friends which we were all hungry. My mate suggested it as he had been there previously.

The sushi was nice, very nice. It was well presented.

Price was good. Your average prices.
There was plenty of choices to choose from.

I am happy I visited this restaurant because the food was nice. I gave this 4/5 primarily because sushi was great.

This place is across the street from my work and they have a decent selection of sushi on the sushi train. They are always friendly and the food is reasonably priced.

Took away Sushi & sashimi medium size... all fresh and lovely presentation. But.... the portion size against the price I paid... bit disappointing. Paid $52, I don't think it was worth it.

Was absolutely disappointed with the experience here. The Mix of both Korean and Japanese cuisine made it confusing and inauthentic. They made us order 2 servings of pork belly as a minimum and when we asked if we could do one serving of pork belly and one serving of marinated beef they said no and couldn't give a good reasons why. The dishes were really average at best, but the sushi didn't really taste fresh at all. Wouldn't recommend this place to be honest.

Early Sunday night dinner meant that we were the only people at the restaurant for most of the time. We ordered 2 bento boxes. And we both thought they were average. The best part was the salmon "sushi" and the chicken. The rest was just average. The teriyaki chicken lacked flavour so much so that it didn't feel marinated at all. I felt like I was eating plain chicken at some parts. The gyoza honestly was awful. I'm not sure what was inside it (fish maybe) but it just didn't work well. Service was also very average and quite inattentive, especially given it was almost empty. There was also nothing to offer in terms of dessert which was a shame since I was still hungry after finishing this.

We decided to try somewhere new in paramatta, so we steered away from the usual eating district along Church St. Asadal serves both Japanese and Korean dishes so we thought we'd give it a go.
We went during a public holiday and they were pretty empty, we were the only dining customers after a table left before us.

Service wasn't that great, I had to wave them down a few times before they came over to take our order and the sushi set we ordered took so long to prepare, I was pretty much full by the time it arrived 😒 Food was alright tasting.

It is surely quiet here on random weekdays but its got some good quality feed!

Please try the sushi rolls, such great quality
and at decent prices. The present it so well. The let down was the edaname.... it had salt chucked on it (see pic). However the remainder of the sitting we had an enjoyable night. Gyoza was crunchy, the soft shell crab was crunchy and the sushi rolls made to order were so perfect that one plate was enough for one.

Its a bit of a walk from the station, the decor is a little tired but otherwise great place for lunch.

Decent menu choices with Japanese and Korean cuisine. The hot pot we had was overflowing with ingredients, which made it a bit hard to cook and mix it in with the soup. Sushi could have been a bit more fresh, but it didn't taste bad, nor was it amazing.

The Asadal Special Cutlet is certainly a unique flavour I haven't encountered any where else. I will always come back for this whenever I'm in Sydney.

Food: Japanese pancake, takoyaki balls, seaweed, sizzling pork & squid, sizzling beef, tuna/avocado sushi.

Food was amazing! each dish was full of flavour and delicious.

presentation on each dish was great, dishes were of good portion size.

Restaurant had great atmosphere and spacious!

This place is definitely a go - to restaurant if you are craving Japanese food that is local.

Service: & hospitality was great, staff were very friendly and attentive.

Price: 4 people = $110

Good sushi.
Prices are quite high.
Location is nothing special and the floor was very dirty. I wouldn't take my partner on a date at this restaurant.

Love it here. The menu is a combination of japanese and korean so very diverse and will meet everyone's tastes. They have a sushi bar and i highly recommend getting the sushi platters if your with a group as they are great value. Street parking is easy at night and customer service is attentive.

Been meaning to try this place for a while , Disappointing horrendous experience and we won't be returning. I would prefer Asian food court food. I felt like money was wasted. Stirfry bulgogi for two with the lettuce to wrap it etc. rice was so dry and didn't taste fresh, was probably the worst I've eaten out. Beef was dry and tasteless, sizzling plate was drowned in vegetables meat no where to be seen. Was not authentic bolgogi flavour. Not worth 38$. Should try Keep the menu small and make things well.

I really enjoy the sushi here. The other dishes are fairly average but the sushi is fresh and the rolls are great value for how large they are. The best sushi I have had in ages and so impressed they do a vegan vegetable rolls which is fresh and oh so delicious!

Located in the business hub of Parramatta. This isn't the best sushi place in Sydney but does it's job. The service is friendly and they serve good quality seafood. The sizzling dishes are also a treat. A lunchtime favourite when working - B

Not good value. Ordered in the seafood bbq ($99).. only came with sauces - no side dishes! asked for salad but never came
they have in table bbqs but there don't work instead they use portable gas bbq.

just stick to the japanese dishes... korean it is not

lovely having half of the high school group together for lunch today-even if it wasn't very long (: this was from a while ago, but it was that very rare night where all 8 of us were free. don't think there will be another day/night until maybe end of next year, with people going on exchange... Asadal is a mix of Japanese and Korean at Parra. it's a bit away from the main street, and had to keep walking further down the street. it's average food and price (but don't remember them..,) and very limited side dishes ): eel and vegetarian sushi could be fresher, but i guess this isn't a place you would go just for sushi Korean pancake, Chicken Kaarage the Korean pancake was on the small side unfortunately. the chicken karaage was decent. Beef Bimbibap veggies and Bulgogi underneath messina! 500ml tubs: pavlova, tiramisu, italian nougat, and also lychee and coconut, blood orange, pandan and coconut-$10 each wow, can't believe i remembered those flavours. the pavlova was definitely the sweetest (that was my pick) but i still loved the meringue bits. blood orange definitely helped to cut down on the creaminess on the other flavours.

So apparently

'In Korean mythology and history, Asadal was the capital city of Gojoseon'.

But that doesn't even matter cause the sushi at Asadal is YUM YUM YUM,

3 YUMS = BLOODY EXCELLENT,,,

CAUSE WHEN YOU DINE IN THE WEST, YOU DIGEST YA FOOD BETTER
This place is great, I've been here twice and both times were fantastic.
This time I took my girlfriend for Valentine's Day.

The staff are friendly and all around great, they made an error in my reservation and forgot to tell me my reservation was a time that they were closed but when we showed up they apologised and still decided to cook for us. Throughout the entire time we were there they helped us with food choices and reccomendations and the food was perfect.
We ordered the takoyaki and the seafood okonomiyaki and they just melt in your mouth and are amazing entrees and for mains an Asadal special set which includes sashimi and sushi and I also ordered a Volcano roll set which were both great. They also threw in two appetisers for free. The portion sizings and prices were good and it filled both my girlfriend and I up that we couldn't finish all of it.

Overall an amazing restaurant, if you're looking for good sushi or any other Korean/Japanese food this is definetly a must try.

First and foremost I would like to say that this restaurant has very nice staff and reasonable food. My mum and I had the seafood udon, which was quite good in terms of flavour and balance but the seafood in it (octopus, prawns) was overcooked in the hot broth. The dragon roll (eel with cream cheese and cucumber) was quite nice. It had great salty flavour which was cut nicely with the cheese. The last item we had was the small sushi set which for forty dollars was a major disappointment. It consisted of only 14 pieces which would have been marginally fine in terms of pricing if it included the more expensive Japanese items like tuna, salmon roe or the likes. Whilst it was presented nicely, it only consisted of salmon served a variety of ways (fresh, grilled, with avocado and mayo and with onion), scallops and I think artificial crab? (Not 100% sure with that one). This item was a disappointment as the sushi was average and for the price, you would want to dabble with more than just standard and cheaper items. Leading off this pricing element, the final issue was with takeaway. We could not finish our food and so required some takeaway boxes, but oddly enough they charged a price for this. Whilst I know this may be a normal occurrence, I felt it was selfish of the owners to charge their customers for takeaway (it was $1 per plastic container). Overall this restaurant has very friendly staff, okay food but has elements that make it seem selfish and non-hospitable.

I am a bit disappointed with the food quality with a 90% like restaurant. The pork cutlet is as hard as a rock. The sushi rolls are doing $15 special which is just average. The only dish I like in this meal is the crispy dumplings. I wont come back again.
