I’ve been coming here a few times. Handy location if you don’t wanna go inside Westfield.
Sushi was fresh and tasted pretty good.
Friendly service too. Some of my favourites: tempura sushi, lion king, seaweed sushi and the simple tuna avocado roll.
Ate at this sushi train place once. The food was pretty good! Service was alright too! They had quite a bit of variety but nothing amazing. The price is on the expensive side.
Excellent customer service and the sushi train was great in terms of the variety of different types of sushi, nigiri, etc. Can be repetitive with the same things on the train, seeing it over and over again, maybe suggest new variety of combinations of different types of flavours on the sushi train?
Sushi Bay is located on the ground floor outside Westfield Parramatta in a cool circular store just beneath one of the escalators. The great news is the design allows for a fairly decent length sushi train (aka more variety!).
I’ll keep this post fairly brief and summarise my experience at Sushi Bay by saying that for sushi trains in Western Sydney, it is very fresh and the quality and variety is pretty high and comparable to the sushi trains in Sydney CBD.
A couple of notable mentions:
- The best kingfish sashimi I have ever had at a sushi train. The meat is sweet and so refreshing...
- The roe: most other sushi trains only have the red roe, but Sushi Bay also have the black roe (see above on kingfish photo). The red roe is also super fresh and although I’m not a huge roe-lover, I do appreciate that the roe is slightly salty and almost pops in your mouth
This sushi train restaurant is located just outside of Westfield Parramatta. Service is quite attentive and welcoming. Any menu items not on the sushi train, they are quick to come over to you to relay the menu order to the chefs.
The sushi on the train is fresh and tasty. Had Egg Salad Ship and Corn Salad Ship. Both were tasty and nice way to start. The Chicken & Cucumber Temaki (hand roll) had a fried piece of chicken and was good. Absolutely loved the Teriyaki Chicken Udon. The chicken is served in a separate bowl with a delicious sticky glaze. The noodles are served in a nice soup with egg, beancurd, and other accompaniments.
The pricing is slightly pricier than equivalents but I enjoyed the food here.
Good selection of sushi. Usually fresh as it's quite busy most days. Plenty of space and room for baby strollers and baby seats too which is handy.
Awesomely located sushi train that's been here for years. They have decent sushi with decent prices, can't complain. They have all your usual sushi variations but also try to mix it up with some cool new ones like pizza sushi. Good for a quick bite :)
A pretty consistent sushi train that's conveniently close to the movies at Parramatta Westfield. We often visit before or after a movie, the staff are consistently quite friendly and will make pretty much anything on request. The sushi train always has a nice variety and the fish is usually quite fresh. I do love Kanzo down the road but I often find that Sushi bay is much more convenient.
Quick dinner after shopping and I felt like sushi. We always have Kanzo when in parramatta but thought we'd try sushi bay train instead. Nice sushi, all the usual suspects. Not too much different or interesting but good sushi train..
Love the sushi here, it's fresh and made well cannot fault the food.
But it is no sushizilla.
I don't like how they have the pricing. $5 for a damn prawn with boiled rice. At least shushizilla has all of the options under one price an that's it.
I stuck to the $4 range because that's what they are worth. There is not much variety in the light green range but it was obviously still nice.
Listen I am no scab but if I can get prawn tempura at sushizilla at a set price why would I choose to go to shushi bay with less variety and more expense?
To satisfy our sudden craving for sushi, we decided to try Sushi Bay in Parramatta. Situated right next to Westfield Shopping Centre, Sushi Bay is perfectly located for lunch and we were very excited to see what dishes it could offer up. Food:Sushi Bay has an incredibly impressive variety of food options for a sushi train and, in the end, we went for four options. First was the grilled salmon aburi, which was quite delicious – we loved the seared flavour and the freshness of the salmon and would definitely order this again.

Even on a stormy day there is a place to go in parramatta where you can just relax and have a light feed.
Sushi Bay is a wonderful place to indulge in all types of sushi, they even serve ramen !
I especially love the nigiri, which always satisfies my taste buds. The service is fantastic, you always get welcomed when you walk in and the prices are fair.
The location is perfect for a sushi train and so conveniently located near the station and Westfields.
Love this place !
Lots of sushi trains to eat at in parramatta but this one is by far the best. The choices are good and I like how they get creative and add new items to the menu on occasion.
It always taste great and they have rice paper rolls which alot of other trains don't offer on their menu.
The prices range up to 9 which is standard.
Quick and great service and always clean 😊
Sushi Bay was the first place I ate at when we moved to the area 5 years ago...and I am still coming back on a very regular basis. It's your typical sushi train restaurant with some great dishes like the Grilled Prawns that I've not seen elsewhere. I also really enjoy a plate of freshly cut fruit at the end of my meal. I also really love the Vegetable Udon Soup on a cold day. Service is fast and efficient and there are a lot of plates at the lower end of the price range.
I always enjoy every single plate i eat at this place! The sushi dishes are fresh and there is a big selection to choose from. i love saucy cheesey dishes and this sushi bay has lots of it !!! Customer service is attentive and its always very clean.
Located right under Westfield there's a SUSHI train !!!I love their Teriyaki chicken don with extra sauce! Most of the dish are typical Japanese sushi and nigiri but it's decent price, I rather get the set lunch meal to ensure it's fresh! The staff are Korean, BAM! yes their Korean but as long as the food is good I don't care. They are always nice and I love the music they play.Overall I just like the teriyaki chicken here HAHA until next time .... keep eating!!!
Better than Blacktown's one.. Sushi bay is very tight and people may need to squeeze in so it's not good for large groups of people.
The GOOD: The sushi is better than Blacktown's and tastes fresher. Maybe because the restaurant has a lot of business and therefore they have to make fresh new ones regularly. The variety here is not as much as the sushi trains in the city but the price is cheaper than the ones in the city. The taste is very delicious but then again it tastes like all sushi which I find delicious!
The BAD: It does not seem authentically japanese. The music is modern english music (I think some people would complain had it been Japanese pop or something!)
I do think all Sushi Bay stores are overrated though and this is no exeption although I do forgive it because everytime I go, I get what I expect and the service has always been great!
The portions small though and as I have reviewed before, it feels like they chopped a sushi roll, the size of one from the food court, and divided it into 2 plates! and charge $4~ for it!
It is expensive!
Pretty much self servic (even the drinnks) but they are kind and decent waiters who asked what drinks we wanted and then again when we were going to pay the bill they were nice.
I dont think theyre authentically Japanese, maybe Korean or something but I'm not complaining.
The interior seem nice and cosy, big massive windows for people to see out of and a lot of natural light coming in. It is warm and sometimes air conditioned which helps in the summers.
I do like this Sushi Bay and I have yet to bring my boyfriend here to lunch!
If you're craving for sushi and in Parramatta, then I suggest you try out this place. Food and service are good.
Probably the best Sushi in Parramatta. There is 3 sushi conveyor belt places in Parramatta and the standard at Sushi Bay is high. I think this place is great, quality is good and prices reasonable. The other 2 sushi conveyer belt places though are catching up in standard but this is still the best
