the bad reviews really motivated me to make a review.
this yum cha place really reminds me of china lol, just pretty noisy all round quite hectic but that’s how it’s supposed to be?
bad reviews for the food are hard to debate because every time we come here (literally like several times a year), we order the same thing - pipis, chicken feet x 2, some green dish i’ve forgotten, and pork; mango sago/pancakes etc as well. you really have to know the good dishes to enjoy the place well imo.
the service LMAO. i feel a lot of people would think it’s terrible and it really is but asian services often are (in my experience anyways). my parents like to say that in chinese reataurants, places with terrible service often has better food! it is really difficult to flag down the old ladies pushing the food trolleys - really idk how their routes work but they never end up near our table! sometimes we just end up grabbing one of those dudes with pen pads and make them get us our usual.
even with this rant, the phoenix in rhodes is better (with a longer wait time in peak hours), but i still recommend this place, especially if your in an large gathering .
Amazing yum cha - one of my favourites! I've been to this spacious restaurant many times before and all my visits have been very pleasant. The service is good and all of the yum cha dishes are amazing. Love coming here for their salt and pepper squid!
Bright restaurant with great lighting and a nice panoramic view of Parramatta.
During the weekend peak service we manage to get 8 people squeezed in instantly. Food was great. Service was ok, however at times seemed very pushy to serve food and talk to the weakest link of the group to cave in. All in all look forward to going back
Stopped by for a weekday midday yum cha sesh with my dad and was surprised at the already bustling crowd. Service was fast and efficient, food was delicious and high in quality. It is relatively expensive - we had 6 dishes with jasmine tea for $53 so around $8 per dish, but you do get what you pay for!
I love having dinner at Phoenix Parramatta the have nice food but it's kind of pricey but I like to go there with my family for good Chinese dinner 🍴

Love heading down to phoenix for a good old Sunday brunch! Service can be a bit of a hit or miss... some of the servers are really friendly and explain all the dishes to you. And other seemed to get annoyed when asked.
Based on my most recent visit, the food took quite a while to come around to us (fair in the sense that it was during their peak time on a Sunday lunch time), but they looked after us in the sense that if they dishes had been circling around for a while, they would happily order a fresh one to be made so we could have it hot.
Some of my personal favourites include the pork dumplings, the crispy rainbow beef and the prawn and garlic dumplings too :)
Had dinner here and the food was pretty good.
Price was okay and it's in a location which is pretty easy to get to.
The service wasn't bad but the lady behind the counter who took our money when we paid was quite rude which makes us not want to come back.
It wasn't too long a wait for our food which is always a bonus and presentation wise, it was served well.
Waiters were lovely and pretty attentive.
Came here for a family dinner. It wasn't very busy so service was really good. Or it may have been because one of my relatives knew the people. In terms of food, I thought it was tasty. I wouldn't say it's the best Chinese food around but it was definitely enjoyable. Some of the dishes we had was wasabi beef, crab with vermicelli noodles, pork stir fried with beans in xo sauce, Chinese sausage stir fried with vegetables, steamed ginger and shallot fish. Those may not have been the exact name of the dishes but my relatives ordered so I never saw the menu.
It's a hard one to describe, the food is good but not great, customer service is pretty hit and miss, and the overall ambience puts me off a little bit. The place is so huge it really loses a lot of its character.
Nice Yumcha place in western suburb!!Some many different types of dumpling, bun,porridge and Cantonese dessert.Also dinner.It isn't expensive and good for family meeting

Yum Cha! Love it... brunch style or even for lunch.
A lot of the food looks & tastes fresh, some of the fried stuff doesn't look like it gets picked a lot so stays on the trolley for longer.
You can never leave yum cha without having mango pancakes!
Went here on a Thursday night, fast wait staff and food came out nicely. The decor was really nice as was the food presentation. The food was above average with the exception of the garlic prawns which was salty and plain. I did also think it was strange that we had a ton of broccoli when it was never mentioned on the menu.
Yum Cha!!!! You can never go wrong with good yum Cha - they have quite a good variety available. However some of their more premium dishes aren't worth the value
Sizzle into a yum cha feast with a wide variety of delicacies from the classic steamed dim sims to the more premium selections including soft shell crab and bbq meats. Continue to saute your appetite with as much as your stomach can handle but be conscious of the dearer prices to what I’m used to.
We organised a dinner here for over 70 people in a private room. The staff were very helpful with the preparation: Narita and Aaron (manager) were excellent in communicating and coordinating details, and the dinner staff were courteous and efficient. Aaron especially was fantastic and went above and beyond our expectations. Many of our guests spoke highly of the food (banquet menu) and were very pleased with the menu. If you are looking for a Chinese party venue, I highly recommend Phoenix and would be happy to return.
The first time we went there was a few years ago, before their renovations. The food and service back then were poor to average. Then they fixed up the place, changed the entrance, got more workers and dishes.
Relatively good service and food tasted much more better than the first time. Glad that they knew what was wrong and fixed the place up. Afterwards, who could say no to a spot of shopping in Westfields to burn off the remaining calories?

Pretty similar to their store in Rhodes. Have mainly been here for Yum cha and its always been the same.
Depends on where you are seated, sometimes the trolley comes more often then other seating areas.
I like how it is in the shopping centre as you can do some shopping and then take a quick dumpling break! Huh! (this will come in handy for the upcoming xmas shopping rush).
Staff are friendly and helpful. Although, some little old ladies try to push food onto but stand your ground!
I've been here a few times and it's good. The customer service is attentive and the menu range is standard. I prefer Rhodes though s they have more range but Parramatta definitely has all the classic dishes you expect at Yum Cha. The atmosphere is fresh and decor is nice.
Prices were less than what we were expecting. Food was good. Portion sizes were just right. Mango Pancakes and Egg Tarts were the best. Pancakes were very refreshing and the tarts were amazingggg. Loved it !
The dim sims and har gow were tasty but quite standard. Their fried taro balls (top left corner) was the best we've eaten, the filling was delicious and they were fresh and not drenched in oil like some others we've had.
The mango pancake was unexpected but really nice and refreshing and wasnt too sweet. It tastes a lot like a deconstructed weis bar.
It's really comfortable to dine at, as it's spacious and tables aren't cramped together like alot of other yum cha places.
I've eaten at a lot of yum Cha places around Sydney. This particular place does the best mango pancakes in town! I also love their prawn Cheung Feng and their "footballs" aka combination dumpling. I could eat plates of their prawn rice noodle. So so good! Service is always pretty good here, I can pop in during my lunch break and have a quick lunch and get back to work within the hour.
Parramatta lacks many good places for yum cha but Phoenix restaurant does a decent job at filling the void. The food here is quite good but a little bit pricey what general yum cha. The a la carte menu I tend to avoid as I'm personally not a fan of cantonese food aside from yum cha.
For those of you who don't know, I love yumcha especially at my favourite two local yumcha places; Iron Chef and Vinh Phat in Cabramatta. It's my first time having yumcha outside of Cabra. We visited Pheonix in Parramatta..... Did we enjoy it Yeah we guess so... but was it worth money? Nope! I had a lovely time catching up with Matt and Daniel though! However, I think I'm a true local - hands down the best yumcha is in Cabramatta. What went in our stomach Here are a few snapshots of food :) We visited Circa for coffee afterwards :-) Stay tuned.
For me the best part about yummy cha is the mango pancakes. They are so soft and light, and really refreshing at the end of the meal. They were a real hit with the blogger crew too!
It’s only new but already very popular with lines out the door on the weekends. All the food was good and it worked out at $30 a head.
Went for Sunday yum cha. Was delicious. Good service average prices. Will be returning.
This yum cha is the best!!! Everything is so fresh!!! My bf and I loved! Although customer service wasn't that great... So what? That's all yum cha anyways!

It's great to see that in this westernized area , this resturant provided such asian flavours. Great food , chicken feet yum!
The only downside was the siu Mai. Not as tasty in my opinion

Went here today for yum Cha with 5 of my family members. I was interested to see how it would fare to places back home (Adelaide), especially due to all the bad reviews. Being a public holiday we made sure to book and the place was packed so I'm glad we did. I found the food to be delicious. It was hot and full of flavour! All the steamed dumplings were so yummy and the mango pancakes...to die for! The service was pretty good too, especially since they were so busy. It worked out about $37 p/head and we walked away stuffed! Can't complain with that. If I lived here I'd definitely go back to Phoenix and I'm sure my family who live local will be frequents now.
