Review Mama & Papas Cucina Italiana - Parramatta

Really enjoyed it. They acted very professionally by handing out a rose and chocolate for the Valentine's Day. Very kind, helpful, respectful and friendly staff who did their best to keep the environment friendly for the clients. Their service time is magnificent... Very quick and professional. Average waiting time to be served is very low and efficient. Shisha was great. They prepared it super quick and changed the charcoal very often. Definitely recommend it especially on the Valentine's Day.....

Tried here for the first time. Food taste is not that good as to ambiance. Ordered few available vegetarian options and felt the taste is not that great. Pesto pasta was too creamy and pesto tasted raw. Cauliflower fry was too oily and was tough to eat. We had lot of left overs.

Average restaurant, not authentic. This is a more fusion kind of Italian restaurant. Great service. Plenty of space inside, but can get crowded during busy hours. Every dish is lacking a bit of texture or flavour. Pizza crust too dry and hard. Gnocchi too salty and not chewy. Not enough bread for the dip. Cocktail a bit bland, not enough alcohol in it. About 35 per person including drinks. There were too many waiters standing next to customers staring at people eating. Great service but really should just stand at the side rather than the middle of the restaurant. Cashier guy wasn't very friendly. Maybe just in a bad mood. I would reconsider going to this restaurant.

2 years ago I would have given this place 5 stars but since the beginning of this year it has been a great disappointment. Food quality has certainly declined. Does not taste fresh anymore. Salads are always drenched in dressing to the point where it’s unbearable. Chicken is tough and dry n pasta is just average. However portions are always big so that is good. Majority of the staff is nice n helpful, people at the counter who accept payments are always friendly.

I was on business trip and had a hectic day. Stayed at Novotel and was looking for a good place to have dinner. I am a fan of Italian food and walked into this place, the ambience was great. The place was reasonably filled with guests but I was greeted by a staff member with a smile and she could find a table for my lone self in a min. Ordered a beer and asked for a recommendation and the waitress suggested a pasta. Got it on my table fairly quickly. It tasted delicious, the quantity was good for two but I did a bit of over eating and finished ☺️. Prices were reasonable too. I would certainly recommend this place for anyone who loves Italian.

The place was totally packed and loved the ambience. The pastas were amazing but the pizzas were a bit bland. The service was also very efficient despite a very busy weekend night. Would love to come back again for more Italian and this type of ambience. Overall 5 stars!

Overall 4/5. Pizza was good, chicken was really bad but good vibes and customer service Mamas and Papas pizza ($27) - MUST TRY, one of the best pizzas i have had. Very good in portion, 8 pieces, good enough to order for 3 people max or 2 people if very hungry. chicken Snitzel ($29) - 1/5. Overall dish not tasty at all, very overpriced Worst mash potato - no salt not creamy very bland in taste Worst mushroom sauce ever - Thin as sauce with no taste, mushrooms were not even good. Fries lacked salt and were really thick and tasteless. Chicken was overfried and dry.

Fantastic food and great staff!

Best food and service around. Apart from the bludgers on here, seems all who have actually eaten here enjoy it.

This is absolutely the most horrifying dining experience I have ever had. We ordered fried cauliflower with pita bread. There was fungus on the bread they served us - actual green/blue mould. Unfortunately, my friends and I ate about 1-2 slices before we realised that there was disgusting fungal infestation on the pita bread.

When we reported this, the waitress agreed that there was mould on the bread but did not apologise for the inconvenience and she gave us a new pack of bread (in a plastic bag). When we asked to speak to the manager, he came over to our table and we explained to him in a calm disposition that there was fungus on the bread that we were served. Instead of apologising for the inconvenience (and frankly serving the disgusting bread), he yelled at us and created a scene. He kept yelling "if you eat it, you have to pay for it" and phrases like "there are no freebies here", "if you want discounts, get out of here".

When in reality, we didn't even ask for a freebie, we just did not want to eat (and PAY for) fungal colonies on our pita bread. We tried to explain to him in a normal tone that this was unsanitary and this man just became more hostile and raised his voice at us. His behaviour was extremely defensive and downright aggressive. The manager decided to shout at us and create a scene (instead of just apologising) and kicked us out of the restaurant while yelling obscenities at us. Additionally, while we were gathering our things and leaving, the manager decided to have a conversation with a neighbouring table telling them, and I quote, “some idiots didn’t like the food”. This name-calling (along with his use of other profanities) was uncalled for, and it was shocking that this grown man threw one of the worst temper tantrums I have seen.

Unfortunately, we were unable to get a picture of the fungus-infested pita bread (as we were quite disgusted as soon as we saw it and had it sent back to the kitchen; we also did not predict the management to react this way). However, there is CCTV footage of the whole incident. This man has absolutely no place in a position of customer service and I am deeply hurt by his actions towards me and my friends. He was extremely aggressive, hostile, and rude. This was blatant verbal abuse, directed at us, for absolutely no reason. Not to mention, serving mouldy pita bread was in direct violation of regular health and safety requirements. We will never be coming back, for obviously good reason.

Ordered from baulkham hills restaurant. Quick delivery and online menu easy to read and easy to order and pay.
We got the mixed plate for one great tasting and large serve.
The ribs I could only manage 1/3 as so big plus there were heaps of wedges.
Also ordered the lamb shoulder. Smaller meal compared to the others. It came with heaps of chips plus we ordered a salad.
I would reccomened it and will order again

The food took over 25 minutes (it wasn’t busy either). It doesn’t take long to prepare two burgers and pan grill fish. There was less than 10 customers in the whole restaurant. Despite the time it took for the food to come out, I was served an overcooked piece of salmon that was smaller than the burgers that got served. I paid $34 for the grilled salmon. It came with two sides (I had chosen salad and chips), which were just as disappointing as the fish itself as the chips weren’t even fresh (not crispy or hot either) and the salad had an slightly off smell to it (no, it was not the dressing). Most of the waitresses were polite and friendly, however, one young and tall waiter with blonde hair in a ponytail rudely took the plate that my friend was eating off of without saying and walked away.

Arrogant staff, extremely rude, impolite.
I sort of liked this restaurant the first time I came here but after that the experience has been really bad.
The staff wasted our time repeatedly by taking the order incorrectly at least three times and giving us several excuses. After this ordeal, The food presented was average. Staff got into fights with two more diners.
No one bothered to apologise for their staff’s rude behaviour.
Got me the food I am allergic to even though I clearly mentioned that I have allergy to that food ingredient. Changed the order only after getting into a long major argument.
Extremely disappointed. Never going there again.

Management was arrogant. Food was slow. Taste is average. We would not go back.

Two staff were about to fight each other. What is that? Live show?

Food not good, too much oil, person forgetting the order. Lost my appetite after an hour wait. Interior was not bad, seems like they were going for the retro new york italian style but adding more features was quite distracting and feels a little cramped.

Not the average you get around the corner of your suburb, quite nice environment and the food was great.

Service was on dot and quite friendly :)

Thanks fellas!!

We had our date night at this restaurant and ordered the Caprice pizza and full rack of pork ribs. The food is very average. The ribs were a dry and got cold too quickly. I wouldn’t recommend the food here. However, staff were really friendly and prompt to your needs. I liked their wedges and sangria.
>> AMBIANCE: 7 >>FOOD: 5 >>SERVICE: 8

Been to this place 3 times and always left disappointed. Reason why I kept going back was because of late trading hours and the location but food is just yucky and old. Never going back again

I remember coming to this place for the first time when it opened, I thought it was just going to be another shisha serving restaurant but I then came to find that I really enjoyed it. I like that it's different to other lebanese shisha serving restaurants. Their pizza is delicious, the chef him-self brought out the pizza to us and had ensured that we enjoyed the pizza and we certainly did. Without having to call the wait staff, they could tell just by the way I look at them that I had needed their assistance which this is quite impressive and effective of them.
The shisha honestly pretty good compared to Armani's up the road. They take their time in making the fresh heads and ensuring that they're made properly and the wait staff continuously asks if we are enjoying ourselves.
Whenever I am in Parramatta, I prefer coming to this place for their delicious food and wonderful shisha, probably would not go to Armani's again for a shisha night.

Went here tonight against previous reviews and what I found was disappointing. Unfriendly waitress upon arrival who apparently was doing me a favour by seating me. Sat for 15 mins with no interaction so as I got up to leave I was asked “you ordered yet “. Given the competition on offer in this area, my recommendation is find somewhere else. I did.

Honestly didn’t eat much other than wedges but the sangria was great and so was the shisha that we ordered. It was a fruit shisha with an apple top and mint never had a shisha so smooth and so good. The service and ambience were also good.

✔️ Some believe this place is pretty average - I completely disagree! I came here for the first time with some friends for some food (more like snack style) , it was really good! The veggie risotto was yum, I’m not a fan of Caesar salad but everyone died over it, but the star was the wedges. They were unreall!!! Easily the best wedges I’ve had - perfectly crispy, a tad oily and fluffy and soft potato inside. The service was great the whole time, we were really comfortable the whole time, and although a bit pricey, the value is good - much bigger portion than what the photos show. Definitely recommend to come and try. Oh and they have arguileh (shisha) outside for anyone who’s looking for more of a hangout !

❌ The chilli pizza was the only thing we didn’t enjoy, it was below average. It was basically a cheese pizza on a very hard base with 6 chillis scattered on top.

Food: 3.5/5
Presentation: 3.5/5
Service: 4/5
Location: 5/5

This place is super average. Staff are nice but quite slow, most of the time we had to shout our order or request or repeat it 2-3 times.

Food is super average. I had the chicken schnitzel which was meh. The Risotto was also very average for the price.

Probably wouldn't return.

Would definitely not recommend at all. Waitress was texting on here phone WHILE taking our order, had to repeat ourselves numerous times. Ridiculously over priced “XL” pizza. Maybe if there were more brains than Botox in this place it would be a bit more pleasant

Can see why they have low rating place is not worth going too,we went last night order burger, prawns and pizza, coffee and mojito wow kick your self waited over 45mins for this come on burger and prawns that long, wouldn’t have been so bad if someone had told us there was going to be a wait or even check we ok etc we had to ask ourselves #Customer service is key guys, well then food comes out definitely not worth the wait we won’t return

Had dinner here with friends on Saturday night. It’s in the premises that were occupied by City Extra for many years. Not a great loss to see it go as it wasn’t a patch on the one at Circular Quay. Unfortunately this new place seems to have inherited the same level of service.

First, the good. The layout is comfortable and the decor relaxing - no need to worry about dressing up too much, though you could if you wanted to.

The drinks and water came out quickly. And the starters came out very quickly. The haloumi and garlic bread were quite acceptable. The mains were very good. My wife and I both had the Venice Special. Penne perfectly cooked, a very generous amount of prawns and a generous, but not overly so, amount of chilli. Our friends had the salmon salad and chicken breast and also found them to be very nice indeed. Prices are very reasonable.

The not so good? Well, it took over thirty minutes for the mains to arrive after taking the orders. Yes it was busy (it was Saturday night after all) but others gave their orders after us and got their meals well before us - not really good enough. Then, when they did arrive, one of our friends was initially given the Caeser salad rather than salmon - though this was quickly remedied.

We only went here because our first choices were booked out. We may go back, but not in a hurry. Food good, but nothing exceptional. But service left a lot to be desired.

Loved the super supreme pizza and peri peri chicken wings and would come back for the BBQ pork ribs. Good casual dining restaurant and will come back for the other pizzas on the menu.

Chose this place because I thought it was new 😊. We shared a garlic cheese starter pizza that was good. For main we had a chicken Parma, Angus beef burger, and chicken snitzel burger. Nothing to rave about sadly. The fillings of the burgers were lost inside the big buns! The chicken Parma looked like two chicken patties with tomatoe and cheese on top.
Unlikely to go back.
